There was far too much to see in such a limited period of time, but Stephania was very informative and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the castle’s history, and the artists DaVinci and Michelangelo. She was entertaining and I found myself wishing I had someone like Stephania when I was studying history - I would have enjoyed it so much more!

This is a long tour.. most of it we couldn’t understand from our guide… the area was impressive but we needed a more interactive guide to really tell the story. It became blah, blah, blah and we were anxious to have it over. Sorry…
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. She did a fabulous job! We learned a lot. Would definitely recommend.
Our guide was not great. one couple got lost and held us up. our guide did not have control of the group at all. She was hard to understand and not all that informative. Because of poor planning, we had to rush through the most interesting part of the tour, the castle’s museum.
This one I could have done the self-guided audio tour there was not much of a line to worry about skipping but we went to the early morning one when it first opens. Very beautiful still intact Castle from last king of Milan. is now a museum and displays a lot of the Kings art collection along with other art exhibits. the time we were there, there was a temporary Art Exhibit from Cairo Egypt and I was able to see lots of Egyptian artifacts and a real mummy. One of the tours we did on our vacation that had the least walking and not very many stairs only a two-story Castle. Artwork, statues, and tapestries breathtaking! Including Michelangelo's last statue
Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The castle itself is amazing. Your ticket also gets you into the other museums in the castle after the tour.
Excellent tour with very knowledgeable guide. Shared unique insights with passion. Thank. You. Very much.
It was enjoyable. Only issue is if you want to look at the other exhibits make sure you get your ticket from the tour guide.
Great information and helpful guide. Nice insight into history. Glad we did tour instead of visiting on our own.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us all about the castle and museums within the complex. We had time to explore on our own afterwards which was awesome.
Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable . She went into great historical detail at each stop on the tour - great for history buffs. A good experience for adults.
An amazing tour that turned out to be a private one when we were the only ones booked onto it! Our tour guide was so warm and friendly and had a great sense of humour! She was very knowledgeable and gave ample time during the tour to look, ask questions and take photos. At the end of the tour she advised us on what else our tickets allowed us to do and where to go etc. wish I’d got her name to recommend her. On a side note I’d also commend Viator for not cancelling the tour due to only us booking it. A different tour company had done this to a couple on a different tour we were on so a shout out and thanks to Viator and the tour operator for that😊
There is a good overview of the castle and all antiquities within. After the overview you should go on your own.
The guide was super knowledgeable. We had time after the tour to explore all the museums that she didn’t show us.
Well worth the visit! Daniel was a great tour guide. He gave us plenty of information not only about the castle, but about the history of Milan itself. It’s definitely worth a few hours of your time while in Milan.
These are Milan’s “must see” spots. So having a knowledgeable guide is a “must have”. We recommend this tour , though note that it doesn’t include a trip to the Duomo roof if that’s important to you.
Amazing structure with an amazing history. You really need half a day at least to visit all the museums and appreciate this marvelous piece of Milanese/Italian culture. Highly recommend a visit!
The castle is intresting, not quiet what we were expecting but cool. It has turned more into a gallery / museum for artifacts from across Milan rather than the castle itself. The guide was nice, knowledgeable ect. No criticism of her but feel this could be done with an audio guide on sale at entry. Would I recommend it? Yes but equally feel a guide is not necessary.
I was originally scheduled for a tour at 2:00pm . I was contracted by the tour provider that I needed to change the asap or my tour would be canceled. I was given a choice of two times and I abruptly chose 4:00 pm. After speaking with my husband, he informed we would be unable to make the 4:00 pm tour so please ask for a refund. The tour company stated they could not do a refund. I said ok, could you at least give me a credit to participate in the tour another day? They declined and said they would not give me a credit either. So I basically lost almost $300 for nothing. I am very unhappy with this situation and it could have been handled much better.
Lorella is a great guide. Super friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
Anna gave us the most amazing tour of the Sforza Castle. She had so much history packed into her brain it was amazing how much she shared with us! Including all the info behind Michaelangelo’s last work. It was really breathtaking to know he was working on that 5 days before his death at 88! Anna was so passionate about everything. We were lucky to have her all to ourselves on this day. Don’t miss this!
Excellent. Very intelligent and knowledgeable guide! Tour in English, interesting and intriguing. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had an enjoyable tour of Sforza Castle, the surrounding areas and the two connected museums. Our tour guide was informative, interesting and well equipped to share a ton of great knowledge about what we were looking at. As someone who loves history and art this tour was a great combo of both! Plus how cool to see an unfinished Michelangelo statue?!
The tour guide waited for all the group even though we stared 10 min late. The ear pieces made it easy to follow along. We loved learning the history behind the buildings and artwork.
Fun tour of castle, was a hot day and our tour guide helped to make the best of it, she really knew her stuff! The maidens inside we exquisite!! It’s worth the time to walk thru and soak up all Milan has to offer with some great views as well
One can spend a full day at this castle, its grounds and museums. A 1.5 hr tour is really just a primer. The history of the family, the unfinished Pietà, and the beautiful park setting made this tour a must for a first-time visitor to Milan.
The experience was 100% better than our previous one at il Duomo. The guide was efficient and welcoming. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and explained many unexpected details of the castle and the sculpture. Much of tour was inside so the hot weather did not affect the enjoyment of the tour. The size of the participants was such that we were able to hear her explanations well and move through this large castle easily. Highly recommend Hidden Experiences.
The castle is not as big as we see in the image.. Not the same as it is in castles in London or Paris.. Nothing much to see.. however, for me, the museum was worth seeing
It was a hot day and Renata made a point to stay out of the sun whenever possible. Excellent guide and good tour of the grounds. Too bad that due to history not much exists of the original furnishings and decorations but the museums are nicely done.
Exceptionally guided tour, storytelling with deep love and devotion to the place. Our guide could not be better.
Pleasant, knowledgeable tour guide.
Tour guide extremely well informed. The museums on site are excellent. Good pace, but with rest stops.
Liked how the guide highlighted specific items. Started and ended on time. Guide knowledgeable. Aaaaa
Extra cost for a private tour is SO worth it on a visit to Sforza Castle and Michelangelo’s sculpture Piete Rodanini. My guide Danielle was amazing. I learned so much, so fast. And cried as Danielle described the history of the sculpture. It was a day I will always treasure.
It probably ranges from your to your however our guide had a very heavy accent so it was challenging to understand her at times. The nice part was that you could use the ticket after the tour to explore additional parts of the museum.
Guide was not supplied a microphone for a group of 10, therefore unable to hear presentation. Would also include in description that this tour is challenging for someone with mobility issues due to extensive cobblestone.
perfect experience exactly how it was described
Our tour was excellent, informative and interesting. Our tour guide, Anna Maria, is one of most interesting people we have ever met I would recommend that tour any time.
The tour was to be 1 hour 50 minutes approximately. The tour was shorter than an hour. The meeting place was not evident as there was no sign to identify with. The guide rushed through exhibits and did not allow time to browse the exhibits or take pictures. Would NOT recommend this tour. Save your money and buy a general admission ticket to you dan ser everything at your leisure.
Great tour. Perhaps a little rushed being at the end of the day with the museum closing at 5pm. A couple arrived late to the tour, but the guide handled it well. Very informative and highly recommended.
We loved taking a tour of the Castle. Our guide was great. He knew all the history. We will be using Viatour again!
Gorgio was a knowledgeable guide. We would have wandered about, admiring, but not really understanding the significance of Storza Castle or the Rondanini Pieta.
Very informative tour. Guide was very knowledgeable about the castle and Milan’s history. Went through 2 of the many museums in the castle complex.
The local guide was very knowledgeable and provides a lot of historical background of the Sforza family, their rule over Milan and its impact on the current city.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and upbeat. We enjoyed the experience.she was passionate about her job.
We had a wonderful guide Rsvena who conducted a very comprehensive tour. She was friendly as well as knowledgeable and a great historian. She provided excellent information.
Excellent tour guide! I highly recommend. Very engaging and informative. I would do the tour again in a heartbeat!
I had little kids with me, and I was expecting more about leonardo’s story, instead of an architectural / historic focus on milano. Decided to abandon the tour, so this review does not include anything on the inside of the castle.
It was a grey, cloudy and cold day when we visited the Sforza castle but our guide Simone made up for the weather with his enthusiasm and knowledge. The castle is worth a visit primarily for Michael Angelo's last version of the Pieta. Apart from that, it has a small museum which has various sculptures and other exhibits from the castle. The fountain in front of the castle is also beautiful.
Excellent tour - got to hear all the most important aspects of the museums- tour guide great and learned interesting facts about Leonardo da Vinci and the unfinished sculpture of Michelangelo
