Private Lake Como & Unesco Dry-stone Walls Vineyards

Our experience on this trip was amazing 👏. Our guide was absolutely fantastic, Luca was very informative and took us to all the off the main areas of this tour. We started in Milan with Niko, one of his city guides and he made sure we got on the right train to Varenna where we met Luca. From there the rest of the day was amazing walking and driving the coast of Lake Como and seeing the beautiful areas. We drove to an amazing vineyard, drank awesome wines and ate at a small out of the way local restaurant where we had local dishes and an amazing lunch. Our tour experience was exceptional and by far the best tour I've had in my travels. We were fortunate enough to be the only group in the tour as we were slightly ahead of tourist season (our tour was April 24th) which allowed us to take full advantage of Luca's guidance and knowledge on the area. Lake Como and the surrounding towns are breathtaking, the people we met along the way were extremely welcoming, and Luca and his assistants were very friendly, conversational, and helpful. Hope to take another of Luca's tours in the future.

This trip was the highlight of our Italian adventure. After a few days in busy Milan we loved the relaxing pace of Lake Como. Luca was the PERFECT guide, he listened to our pleas for relaxing coffee spots, lakeside views with fresh fish for lunch, cheese and wine shopping stops and plenty of photo opportunities. He was able to find some stunning off the beaten track locations and took us to some fantastic locations only a local would know. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The wine tasting was fantastic. A real find of a place, traditional and very family run. A fabulous day from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I was emailed 2 weeks before my trip asking if I could reschedule, though our itinerary did not allow and I let them know right away. I heard nothing back until 3 DAYS PRIOR to our scheduled trip (booked many months ago) that it was canceled. Very poor communication by this operator (just tell me it’s canceled two weeks ago when you first asked), and now scrambling to find an alternative way to see this region with little time to plan and limited availability to book. Super bummed.

One of the best tours I have ever been on and with the nicest most informative tour guide Luca.. From the outset, everything was very straight forward, meeting point, transport and plan for the day ahead. Initially we worried it would have been too long a day but it flew by and just kept getting better as the hours went on 🇮🇹❤️ Before arriving in Italy Luca was very easy to get in touch with and replied to any questions via trip advisor promptly. It was my husbands 50th birthday trip and Luca could not have made it any more special. Taking us to the most beautiful parts of Varenna, lake como, vineyards, winery’s, castles, stone walls, and lunch in one of the most scenic farm house restaurants I have ever seen. And not forgetting our special treat at the end of our day from Luca with a trip to his local gelato shop for an amazing yoghurt gelato dessert❤️ He was also an excellent photographer into the bargain lol.. I would highly highly recommend this day to anyone considering to book it, as it was the highlight of our trip. The scenes I will never forget. And the facts we took home we will remember forever. Superb personal service in a small minivan around the lake. We met an employee at a designated spot at the Milan train station. That employee put us on a train north. At second stop, we were picked up after 40 minute train ride we were picked up by the owner of the tour operator . The owner had lived in the US and spoke perfect English.

Luca and his colleague were excellent hosts! This was an amazing experience and I would recommend this tour to EVERYONE. Luca is a top notch guide and was so accommodating. The next time I’m in Italy, I will definitely book with him again. Thanks Luca for such a wonderful time during our Lake Como experience!

This tour was wonderful. Lake Como was beautiful and the views were spectacular and breathtaking. Our tour guide, Lucca, did everything to ensure we enjoyed our time. The stop and tour of the mill was charming. I couldn't believe I was having wine and cheese in the beautiful yard of a resident of this area with great company and a view of the Italian Alps. Take a tour with Lucca and have a great time!

A wonderful and memorable day was had with Luca! My fiancé and I had participated on this tour on Jul 31, 2023, the day exceeded our expectations. We took in the views of Lake Como, saw sone castles, visited some towns off the beaten track, had a delightful lunch and went to a vineyard. Luca is knowledgeable and informative. We truly enjoyed our day with him and would highly recommend this tour. It is berry organized with lots to see. You won’t be disappointed!

Hello- this was a wonderful day! Initially we were concerned that the hours would be long; however, they were filled with beautiful sights, history, food, and wine! We took a train from Milano to Vernazzo, where the guide delivered us to Lucca, a long time resident of the area. In Vernazzo enjoyed the beauty of the town and the protective fort- which afforded amazing views and interesting history! We took the ferry past Bellagio to Menaggio where Lucca and an excellent driver took the five of us to a very characteristic town/ restaurant for delicious and traditional food — we then drove to the neatest winery and went into the wine caves for history, tasting. We were delivered back to a train to Milan Centrale. This tour was fully and personally guided from Milan to Milan. It was a wonderful and beautiful day. Had a fun day out with Sylvia our guide and an American couple. Our group was small and intimate. Sylvia is very knowledgeable, helpful and fun to be with. Our driver (sorry can’t remember his name) is a very helpful and careful driver.

Incredible tour, Luca was an amazing guide and we had lots of fun, excellent food and good company. We learned a lot, Luca had great knowledge about wine and the traditions of the area.

Mara had great inside knowledge to the surrounding area with regards to history, food, culture and geography. Went with two other couples, and we all had big smiles and full belly’s from start to finish.

This was a very nice tour of an area I probably never would have seen otherwise! We had a relatively small group (7 people) whom we travelled around to different villages near Lake Como. Our guide, Luca, made the tour very personal and gave great details about everything we were seeing. We went to a delicious lunch at an agriturismo (the cost of lunch isn’t included but definitely worth it) and then to a winery for a tasting. Getting to and from on the train was a breeze. If you’re interested in seeing Lake Como and especially the Valtellina wine valley north of the lake, I’d definitely recommend!

Excellent day! We picked up the tour in Varenna and meet our tour guide Guilla and a wonderful couple-Zac and Rachel who toured with us. Go Buckeyes--small world. Enjoyed the day of traveling to cheese country, with lunch at an wonderful local restaurant, followed by trip to dry stone wall vineyard and winery for tour and tasting. Great fun and exceptional tour guide. Well worth the money and the day7!

Just perfect day! Luca made tour very interesting and it was just about everything what we asked and wanted. By the end of the day i can say we had a trip with our new friend. 100% recommended to write for him and plan a trip!

We consider the trip we did to Lake Como and the dry-stone vineyard walls, and the various sights and sounds we had there, among the top experiences of our entire trip to Italy. All of us considered not only the locations we were taken to, but the wonderful interactions we had with our guide, to be just superb. It was a delightful, almost surreal kind of day for us!

So I was on my own on this trip and Luca was the guide. Luca is informative knowledgeable and friendly. He's an absolute gentleman. Lake Como was fantastic. Luca really went into depth about the history of the vineyards different areas where the grapes are grown and history in general about the area. The wine tasting and tour was amazing. I feel like I've made a friend and I will definitely be back. I've fallen in love with Italy and hopefully my Italian will be much better next time! Grazie Mille Luca!

Luca our guide was wonderful. Extremely professional, friendly and informative. We were taken to many local areas including the best grocery shop Ever!!! Then onto a local Trattoria to experience the most delicious lunch - so much food - this trip is a great way to get out of the busy tourist areas and to see where and how the locals live.

Luca handled every detail to make our visit memorable! He met us at the train station and quickly unified out two groups (party of 5) so that we all felt comfortable. He immediately took us to the water and explained the region. We visited small, beautiful villages along the lake. Luca is knowledgeable of the area and knew when to educate the group and when to lighten the experience with a silly joke. He took us to a small cooperative winery in the mountains that was a special, local experience. I highly recommend Luca for his knowledge of the area and ease with people!
