We had a great time with Salvatore. We met up in the modern area of Milano, and he took us through the development of the area and linked it quite elegant to the historical parts of the city, the mindset of the people and the importance of beauty and good food. Thanks Salvatore!

We loved our walking tour with Salvatore. He is extremely knowledgeable, and he made the tour interesting and fun. It was amazing how he was able to give us such a good overview of the city of Milan in a fairly short amount of time.
We had a great walking tour with Salvatore & would recommend his tour to anyone looking for an intro to the city! We especially enjoyed going to some of the areas in the city that are not as frequented by tourists and getting to hear a lot of history from a local perspective. Favorite insight was how Milan is all about looking forward & not backwards, and could really understand the city better through that lense.
I had an exceptional first-day experience with Salvatore. He graciously dedicated his time to showing me some fascinating places and sharing valuable insights. Overall, Salvatore was sincere, courteous, and a pleasure to engage with. He is an individual of remarkable knowledge and intellect, capable of delving into various facets of life and providing insights into the social, cultural, and economic progress of Milan and Italy. I am truly grateful for his role in creating such a delightful initial impression of Milan, and I wholeheartedly endorse him as a considerate and genuine individual to embark on a tour with. Thank you, Salvatore!
Alessandro was an excellent guide. This was our first visit to Milan and he gave us a wonderful overview of the history of the city and its development. I felt ready to dive into more in depth tours the following days. Thank you Alessandro!
Me and my sister were in Milan only for one evening. And I thought this was the perfect way to know the city. Salvatore, our guide was on time, was friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside to the entire tour was the overhead expenses that was not conveyed to us. If there is a destination during the tour which requires us to reach by metro then the cost should be borne by the company. Or else the itinerary should clearly mention the same. It was very unexpected when we were suddenly told to pay for the fares and then the tour can continue . It was very unprofessional.
Great tour. Great guide. Francesca not only showed me the major sightseeing location but also other interesting spots off the beaten path.
We enjoyed our tour of Milan with Salvatore. He’s very knowledgeable and provided some great insights of the city and the spirit of Milan.
Francesca gave us first time visitors a good sense of direction of the inner city of Milan which we visited for just a couple of hours. She pointed out historical, cultural and geographical aspects of the city. After she ended the tour we felt, that we would want to come back for more detailed experiences. We enjoyed Francesca, her pragmatic and friendly way of taking us along on the tour. Thank you!
Francesca was a great guide! It was our first time in Italy and second day in Milan. We mistakenly booked Francesca for the wrong day and she kindly rearranged her afternoon to make it happen for us - she was super flexible - Thank You again Francesca. She took the time to explain many architectural and historical facts that we would have not been aware of, and took the time to walk us down different locations. Would recommend anyone seeking great information about Milan architecture and other little secrets about the city to take a walk with Francesca.
I had such an incredible time touring the city with Salvatore. I highly recommend booking your tour with him! So naar Mira.
This was not our first trip to Milan so we wanted a different perspective of the city. We had one day only before we continued our travels. This tour was excellent. For us it was exactly the kind of information about Milan that we wanted. Perfect. Unfortunately the weather was grueling - soooo hot and humid and I was getting over a summer cold. Our guide Salvatore was very considerate as he realized we were suffering from the weather. He ensured we were in the shade and changed the tour to accommodate an easier path. We learned about architecture - old and new. We viewed the juxtaposition of the new against the old. This tour should not take the place of a walking tour of the Duomo and other sites - in my opinion this tour should be enjoyed in conjunction with those tours. It was special. I would suggest contacting the host before the tour to ensure that you will have the best experience. We highly recommend Salvatore and this tour.
Saara was the perfect guide! She was fun, informative, and gave us a fantastic introduction! She was wonderful and we highly recommend her tour - it was everything but the Duomo and Last Supper!
Saara, our tour guide was the BEST. We learned so much about Milan today and yesterday as well as the people. Saara was very knowledgeable about culture, history, religion and food. It was the best 2 hours.
Outstanding recommend ‘We Local’ as a starting point for all vacations! Salvatore took us on a private walking tour while highlighting the all the historical and contemporary points that make Milan so special. He even took the time to show us how to travel by subway to see more after our tour! Salvatore’s English is impeccable and there were no communication gaps. In addition to the shopping, Duomo, the vertical forest, and Eataly, Salvatore escorted us to the best gelato place in Milan! Perfect foundation for the rest of our stay in Milan.
Although Milan is a lovely city, my tour guide, Salvatore was the worst I have ever experienced of all the tours I have ever booked on this site. First off, when I initially booked the tour, no one reached out to me to tell me who my guide was or where to even stand at. I was given only a general plaza area with over 50 stores around. No specific location. I thought someone would let me know, but I had to reach out to the company and tell them my tour had started but I didn't know who my guide was. After I reached out, THEN I got a text from Salvatore saying he was in front of the Nike store. When you are brand new to a city, the tour guide is supposed to be a friendly representation of the city. As soon as I met him I instantly felt unwelcome. He did not smile, shake my hand, say "welcome to Milan, thanks for coming" or convey ANY enthusiasm AT ALL. He had no type of greeting, it was as if I approached a random stranger for directions and he didn't want to be bothered. He had this stoic, quiet demeanor that made me think something was wrong. I asked him if he liked doing tours and he said it was his hobby, but his demeanor indicated that this was a chore. He spoke very quietly so I had to ask him several times to repeat himself. He refused to speak up even though the city was loud. He was very monotone and his history lessons about the city sounded like he was reading a script. No enthusiasm. He made absolutely NO effort to engage me nor be personable the way a tour guide should be. So when he was not reciting his script there was awkward silence that I had to fill in by making conversation, which is something he should've done. It was like pulling teeth. He did the bare minimum which was take me to a few locations, but it felt like he didn't want to be there. He said this was a hobby of his but it seemed like he was just in it for the money. I felt like I would've had a more enjoyable experience if I had a tour guide who actually wanted to be there and acted genuinely. This might as well have been a self-guided tour due to the disrespectful lack of interaction. And that wasn't even the worst part. To top it all off, he LEFT me stranded in a location completely different from where we started off. EVERY SINGLE walking tour I have ever been on, the tour guide comes full circle to the original meeting place and THEN let's people go their own way. Salvatore led me to a landmark, showed me to a nearby gelato shop and said have a nice trip. I asked him if he we could walk back to our starting point, but he simply gave me some directions for the subway (which were very hard to follow once I got to the station) and he just left. For all he knew, maybe I wanted to see something in the area that we originally met at. It doesnt matter if where we ended the tour was "closer" to the main station, he did NOT make it clear that we were going to end in a different place that we started. It seemed to me that he just didn't feel like bringing the tour full circle like a professional guide. His actions were lazy, inconsiderate and just rude. Also, it would be nice to mention UPFRONT if there will be impromptu or additional costs involved. He randomly informed me in the middle of the tour that I would need to pay for subway tickets to get in and out of the places we were going. I paid nearly $100 for this brief tour so you would think this fee would've been included in the general cost. ANYTIME I have paid for tours, the price for admission into places was always taken care of by the guide as they had already calculated and factored that into the ticket price. I have NEVER been asked to pay out of pocket once a tour had already began. This whole ordeal felt like a scam because I felt cheated out of what SHOULD have been a lively experience by Salvatore who clearly only did this for the money. I will definitely be seeking a refund. Hopefully no one else will have to experience such little regard and lack of professionalism.
I booked a Milan city tour with Viator a day before arrival, as Viator's competitor tour operator had unexpectedly canceled our booking due to lack of tour guides. Thankfully, we decided to go with the City KickStart Tour with Salvatore from among the choices listed on Viator website. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. Salvatore was punctual and met us at the designated location. His knowledge about the city was impressive, and what stood out the most was his ability to communicate clearly in English language. This made it easy for us to comprehend everything he was saying. The highlight of the tour was when Salvatore introduced us to the city's subway system. Navigating MIlan using the subway was not only convenient but also-cost effective compared to taking taxis everywhere. For first-time visitors to Milan, I highly recommend this tour as it provides a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the city and the subway system under Salvatore's guidance. It will save you a significant amount of money on taxi fares.
My husband and I visited Milan for the first time. We were very pleased with our friendly guide Maura. She was punctual meeting us, informative about Milan's highlights and good communicator. We recommend this short walk about Central Milan.
Nice overview of the city including the new areas as well as the old. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered questions. A highlight was seeing the Castle.
Fabulous tour my guide was super knowledgeable and took photos of me !! he also showed me how to work the metro and how to get around. was a great intro to the city.
I WOULD GIVE A ZERO IF IT WAS POSSIBLE Our guide did not meet us at the appointed location and time. I did not receive a phone call or text. I later checked my email and saw an email telling me the guide was running 15 minutes late. I asked for a refund immediately and was told to contact the company. I have since explained the situation to a representative in several emails and have been told that I will not be refunded. THERE IS NOTHING ON THE WEBSITE THAT STATES YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR EMAIL OPEN IN CASE THE GUIDE HAS BEEN DELAYED. IT DOES PROVIDE A LOCAL PHONE NUMBER WHICH SUGGESTS THEY WOULD TEXT IF THERE WAS ANY CONCERN. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN MY MANY YEARS OF USING TRIP ADVISOR
My husband enjoyed the kickstart tour. A perfect way to start our stay in Milan. Three hours was just perfect for us. Beautiful day, great guide.
Great private walking tour with Salvatore. Contrast of new futuristic and charming old Milan. Lots of great facts, information and recommendations about the city. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience with Francesca’s tour. She was extremely accommodating and tailored a bespoke tour to suit 2 adults and a 6 year old. She was also very patient with and responsive to the needs/demands of our son. Francesca is that reliable, knowledgeable and fun friend that we all want.
Excellent tour. Lots of local and historical information but not too long. Fun tour guide and open to any questions
For my first trip to Milan, I'm so glad I had a chance to meet Alice. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, it was very interesting. She provided some excellent recommendations. It was a fantastic way to get to know Milan! I can't wait to go back, will definitely take another tour with Alice. Recommend 100%
The tour was really nice as well as our guide Francesca, I think we even got some extra time. We really recomend it!
Salvaltore was an exceptional tour guide. He was so insightful and enjoyable to listen to. He recommended places to see after our tour was over and his suggestions were winners!
Loved hearing about the city from the guide.. Love the historical nuggets as well as the current tips for seeing the city and getting around. Perfect way to start off the vacation.
Maura was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the history of the city and its architecture. She gave us a wonderful orientation to the city, great start to our first day in Milan!
Dominico was terrific. Note this tour begins in modern skyscraper part of city but u take subway with him to fort and to duomo. 90 min tour which is adequate
Our guide Sara was absolutely amazing. Loved her personality! She gave us great information as we walked through the city. I would highly recommend this tour. You see a different part of Milan.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting or moving to Milano. My tour guide was very informative and great company. The tour can be tailored to your preferences or follow their schedule. Great tour!
Great tour - like travelling with a local. Going into hidden shops, art installations, passageways and piazzas we would have never found alone!
This tour is perfect for anyone visiting the city for the first time. The guide showed and explained the city in an interesting, exciting and fun way and gave many practical tips. We would definitely do the tour again.
Francesca has a contagious passion and wonderful personality for sharing the history, art and wonderful food Milan has to offer. We had a perfectly delightful walking tour with her. Highly recommended and we can't wait to return and have Francesca accompany us again!
Salvatore was a great guide and excellent introduction to Milan in a very friendly and relaxed manner , we both really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting a walking tour of this fabulous city
Local knowledge really made our day in Milan much more fulfilling. Would highly recommend it . Very helpful and accommodating
Saara is super friendly and attentive. She asked us what we were interested in and adapted her tour accordingly. She told us some fun facts and personal stories which was really interesting to hear. She even took some more time after the 1,5hrs. Price for value is excellent! I can recommend Saara and this tour to anyone interested in getting to know the most important places in Milan.
Armando was Fabulous! Showed us historic and modern sides of Milan. Not easy with 6 adults and 3 children, but Armando did a great job. Interesting tour and city! We rely on WithLocals wherever we travel.
Maura was my tour guide on the 90 minute kickstart walking tour of Milan in September 2018 and I highly recommend her! Maura is very nice and easy to talk to and she presented an informative introduction to Milan. After telling her of my interest in seeing an opera at La Scala, she even went with me there to get a discounted ticket. I hadn’t realized an opera was playing while I was in town nor did I know anything about the cheaper, last-minute tickets. I am grateful to her for getting to see the opera! Maura is fantastic so please select her for your tour!!!😀
We met up with Armando at the beginning of our month long trip to Italy to introduce some Italian basics to our kids ages 13, 11, and 9. He was well prepared, made it fun for the kids and connected easily with all of us. We had a great time and would completely recommend him!!!!!!!
It was a pleasure to have Armando as our tour guide. He has a vast knowledge of the history and the places we visited. He gave us suggestions of places to visit based on our interest.
Francesco went out of his way to show us parts of beautiful Milan that we would never have seen without him. He was very friendly and professional and interesting and his English is excellent. This is a great little tour and we will always remember it. Grazie Francesco!
Salvatore is a brilliant guide and showed us both new and old Milan With his local knowledge he was an excellent guide
Was great to see so many parts of Milan that we'd have completely missed without such a knowledgable guide. Alessandro met us exactly on time at the start, then allowed us to go at our own pace (my wife had a crutch following a leg break) even stopping for a comfort break, despite this meaning the tour went on well beyond the planned finish time. He even offered to take some pictures for us. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for the tour Francesco! It was so interesting and great to meet you. Loved sharing our common interest in the social history of food. Let me know if you ever get to Napier in NZ and I'll take you on a tour of our lovely region in exchange
Francesco was born in Milan and lived there his whole life so he was a great guide. Also very flexible, adaptable, and perfect communication- highest recommendation!
What a nice couple of hours getting to know (and getting turned around in) Milan and what locals enjoy seeing and doing! Saara really took the time to show me the must-see’s and must-do’s and her favorite spots around town. She was so enjoyable and I’ve already recommended this tour to a new friend that I met last night here in town.
My husband and I really enjoyed our kickstart walking tour of Milan. Alessandro was very accommodating in organising the tour and communication was great. We were provided with lots of information about Milan and visited streets which we would probably not have gone to without the tour. The speed of the tour allowed for my husband to take photographs along the way. This tour was a great introduction to Milan and Alessandro was very helpful in making suggestions as to what we might visit for the rest of our time in Milan. Thank you for a very good tour
