Milan: Duomo’s Cathedral Guided Tour With Optional Rooftop Access

Giordano gave me a ticket that included the roof top access, which I didn't realise I never selected when booking the tour. I was very grateful for this because I thought I had, so he saved me and did my a kind favour. The tour guide was fantastic (I can't remember her name - Marcella maybe?). She was very respectful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made the experienice very enjoyable.

Brilliant way to see Milan from the rooftop, informative tour of the cathedral with a great guide. Just the right length for us on the tour then free time once up on the roof. Really enjoyed it and easy meeting point.

Amazing tour and amazing tour guide. Very educational and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. But please note that after you go through the interior of the church, you exit it to go on the terraces on top and outside and you WILL NOT be allowed back inside the church without buying another ticket! Unfortunately, I hadn't taken any pics inside as I wanted to focus on the tour guide and once we left to go upstairs on the terraces, we were not allowed back in. I had wrongly assumed we were going to be allowed to roam around inside after the tour, but we were not, only at the top terraces. Just a warning.

Guide is very knowledgeable about the history and the architecture of the Duomo. It's a short 1-hour guided tour. No waiting in line to enter the Duomo. Worth the cost.

We got to meeting point on time. Efficient checkin but nowhere to sit and wait. Legs already tired. Our guide Marcella was animated and interesting. Very professional. Great tour and going up to the roof a must although tricky at times.

It was an amazing experience. Marika, our guide was very knowledgable. Because of the skip the line option we got to the rooftops relatively fast.

Samantha was very engaging and had some great info to share. The tour started right on time, got us where we needed to go, and was fun!

We had trouble finding the beginning of the tour. Also, thought we had to pick up our tickets at a place separate from the meeting place.

Very informative, guide was great. There were 30 people in our group. I thought the price was a little high but hey we were on vacation. The whole process took roughly 2 hours. We had a good time on the roof and took some awesome pictures.

Our guide, Marica was fantastic. She was a wealth of information and really created interest telling her information. We learnt so much from her. Her level of English was perfect and there were no issues understanding anything she was saying. Highly recommend this tour.

Well Organized and just the right amount of time. A lot of historically interesting facts with references to the present. Definitely recommend to understand Milano.

Very enjoyable. Our guide Valeria was amazing, very knowledgeable. The tour was just about an hour perfect to know the main points and keep going to other tours in the city. Very smooth entrance. Do know you need to come with shoulders and knees covered. They do say it somewhere along the reservation so just make sure you read all instructions.

Guide was knowledgeable and brought illustrations for our education. Difficult to find the meeting place in the circled the piazza for 20 minutes. Almost missed the tour.

We were advised repeatedly to arrive 20 mins early, which we made sure to do. The guide was late, made no mention of this, didn’t introduce herself and was rude beyond any conceivable cultural differences. She was warm with Italian people she knew in passing, suggesting she may not actually like tourists and is in the wrong profession. A guest was late rejoining our group in the Duomo and she made a reference to people not being babies and that she told everyone when to return; it turns out he had gotten lost. The group seemed accordingly a bit tense. The entry cost to the Duomo was 1/4 the price of the tour. If I am to pay 4x for an experience, I expect that it would be professional and welcoming. My reviews are almost always positive and my family travels extensively.

We had a wonderful experience on the Duomo rooftop tour today. The highlight is definitely going up to the roof — the views are absolutely worth it and give you a completely different perspective of Milan. Our guide, Marcella, was fantastic very knowledgeable, kind, and engaging throughout the tour. She used an iPad to show helpful visuals that made the history come alive. The tour felt informative without being overwhelming, and everything was very well organized. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Milan — the rooftop alone makes it a must-do!

the guide was okay, she made us stand outside the Duomo in the sun while she shared history. Then we entered the fast pass lane. Since we stood outside for so long we only had a short time inside and didn't get to look around. She then took us to the line for the roof but just left us there and security was very hostile and informed us that we needed out guide to enter. They finally let us in but the tour was not worth it at all

Excellent communication from Viator, very easy to book and efficient meet up connection with an excellent guide.

Operator cancelled booking 3 days before travel as Duomo busy in the MORNING even though our visit was in the AFTERNOON. Customer service felt like not a priority and the notice was short. Alternative offered for a Tuesday didn't help a weekend trip. The communication was professional and courteous.

This was great, our guide Alexia was informative, which helped understand a little about the story of Milan & the cathedral. The roof top was just amazing. The architecture, the sculpting just beyond belief of what was achieved in that period

The tour through the interior of the Duomo was short but informative. I would recommend a separate tour if you are seeking more information on the interior. The rooftop tour was fantastic. It is not done with a guide but we got plenty of information about the rooftop from the guide before we went up.

Knowledgeable guide with earpiece provided to ensure the small group could hear the entire time. The view from the roof is crowded, but the view was worth it. Great value!

The time of this booking was changed twice without consultation. We had a plane to catch later in the day and this put us under pressure. A lot of waiting around. A lot of waffle. Would not choose this tour again

The tour and history was amazing, about an hour inside before going up to the rooftop. Even with the fast pass the rooftop was slow to get all the way around and up (there are stairs to get to the final upper level).

Late notice of tour start time. Couldn't make tour so missed out. Requested refund but told to refer back to you. Very disappointing

Our guide, Marcella, was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. I don’t usually write reviews but I have to after this fantastic experience. She took us around the highlights of the interior of the Duomo, after giving us a thorough summary of the history of its construction, statistics on number of statues/gargoyles/etc., and significance to not only Milan, but all of Europe. I learned a lot, while also having fun, and our guide made the experience very engaging. Once we finished with our interior tour, we were able to visit the rooftop terraces. The views, both of and from the roof, were breathtaking. Don’t miss this tour! This is my first time in Milan and this experience is unforgettable.

The guide provides only a tour inside the church and then dropped us off at the line for rooftop access. Once there, all of the rooftop tickets for our group trying to gain access were invalid. We called and eventually someone else in the group was able to connect with Crown Tours. They sent all the tickets to one person in the group and we were eventually permitted entrance, but not without a LOT of stress and security shuffling us off the entrance area. The security officers had never heard of the tour group and told us that there are many scams promising access. I thought the guide would provide insights on the actual rooftop tour, which it did not include. Also the guide told us that after the rooftop tour we could go back through the church at our leisure, which was also inaccurate. While we did eventually gain access to the roof, it was all very stressful, inconvenient and not the experience we paid for.

Well run, great communication and fantastic guide. She was informative, kind and could speak multiple languages beautifully… the roof was really stunning - I’m pretty afraid of heights and it was worth it … you don’t have to look down … and I didn’t 🤪
