Milan Super Saver: Skip-the-line Duomo And Rooftop Guided Tour

Format of the tour was good. Interior followed by roof. Pace was good. Group size was about 24 and guide used a microphone and participants had earbuds Guide was however unintelligible in English. She seemed knowledgeable but her accent was strong and she didn’t use her microphone properly.

The Cathedral is amazing. Our guide was helpful, but her accent was so heavy that it was impossible to understand the dialogue during the tour. We were sorry to have missed out on all of the details about the history.

Fabulous building and excellent guide in Eddy. Very informative and delivered with style and humour.

We took the lift to the rooftop area which made it much easier to access and enjoy the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts about the Duomo. We had many opportunities for photos and to take in the beauty and magnificence of the architecture.

This tour was 2.5 hours and really great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information about the Duomo and things inside and outside. Getting to go onto the roof was amazing. You ride the elevator up but you have to walk down. Highly recommend!

Many tours start at the same location and time making it difficult to find the tour guide. The ear pieces provided are poor quality making it difficult to hear what the guide is saying. Recommend you bring your own. Stay close to the guide. The audio system provided has very limited range. The rooftop is not flat and may be slippery - wear appropriate shoes.

This was a medium size group tour with headphones- was difficult to follow unless you could see the guide talking due FYI muffled audio but still a wonderful experience. Would recommend for a full understanding and relaxed time to soak in this exceptional monument of Milan.

Tour guide, Simone, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the Duomo, its history and architecture. Small group format worked well in spite of massive crowds. Would not attempt to do something like this without the “skip the line” option. The climb to the rooftop terraces is well worth it with a guide to point out the various Milan skyline features. Nice juxtaposition of the old of the Duomo and the new of Milan architecture.

Interesting architecture and knowledgeable guide. We liked being on the roof for a different view of the building. Guide sometimes a bit hard to hear because of all the other tours but not his fault. Was with my 17 year old daughter.

We had a great guided tour of the Duomo with Eddy. Everything was very well organized and clear from the beginning, and the tour ran smoothly and on time. What we especially enjoyed was the way he explained the history of how the Duomo was built. It really felt like a journey through its construction, Gothic architecture and art, with interesting references to Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. Eddy explained everything in a very clear and engaging way, and at every step we knew exactly what was happening and where we were going next. A very well-structured, informative and enjoyable tour. Good way to visit the duomo and get a lot of the experience efficiently. Aurora who checked us in was very friendly and helped us catch up to the group when we were running late. The lead guide Helen was pleasant and knowledgeable but very robotic. She does have a hard job corralling all the guests and managing versus the crowds and other tours. We learned the key points of the history and folklore. You could tour on your own but it would take much longer to get all the insights this tour was able to provide.

The Milan Dumo is “wow”! Beautiful work of art, history, and faith. Our guide, Eddy, was fabulous and hit all the important points.

The guide was informative but due to the poor sound equipment we could only understand about 10 percent of what she said. Not worth the money.

You get to see the actual roof of the Duomo. The group was very good when responding to our challenge. (Train 45 minutes late arriving.)

The guide Samantha was fine, I did not love the inside of the church but that is just me. Rooftop was amazing but at the time I went (2:15pm tour) a bit crowded which wasn’t great for someone with a bit of vertigo. However the reason the meeting point was a mess (not run by guide who arrived at start time) from 2pm. There were 25 people and sign was unclear (it just said Duimo with no logo, logo on her shirt was hidden by sign). There had obviously been some problem before I arrived as someone complained about ‘line’ not working. Anyway there was just a crowd around greeter who was signing off tickets and handing out headsets. I tried to check if I was in the right place but was just told that I should be in the line (where). I lined up where I thought it was with at least two others in the same location. Eventually I could see someone else with a similar ticket so I was confident I was in the right place. Eventually, second to last I was next (she had just signed off person next to me) and she skipped me to move to the last couple (we were all in a circle, no line and no efforts by greeter to advise where line was/ask people to line up ‘here’). This is the point where her behaviour to me was unacceptable. I asked her why she was skipping me as I was next and had been here before the other couple (and before many others she had already processed but whatever). It seemed strange as I was clearly next and this is when she said ‘I told you to get in line before and you didn’t’! Really, 5-7 mins later and she is still trying to make me pay for something I couldn’t even have done, I had moved to where I thought the line was was not a mind reader and got that wrong (as did everyone else after me). On top of this she had been quite happy to check if right tour for other people out of sequence. I guess she thought I had been trying to jump the non-existent queue rather than checking if right tour. I almost left right then. I have never had an experience like this before. No sign of her name so I have no idea who she was. I believe I was the unlucky recipient of a misunderstanding and that something had happened before I arrived but I should never have been treated that way.

Our tour guide Simon was fantastic...very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. He deftly managed our large group and provided just the right amount of detail and historical context about the Duomo to keep our interest. We feel very lucky to have had him as our guide!

Our tour guide was great! We learned lots of neat historical facts about the Duomo from the layout of the stained glass windows, unique statues and parts of the Duomo, and took lots of stunning photos both inside and out. I’m glad we had the lift pass for the rooftop as well. Would highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Milan.

Good tour. Skip the line guided is the way to go here, as lines were extremely long. Guide a bit hard to understand, microphone and headphones were scratchy and messing up. That said it was a beautiful church and one of the few in the country that have ramps to get inside and elevators to their Terrace so even people with handicaps can enjoy. It was crowded & quick pace made it hard to get good pics.

Tour zoomed fast not taking time to explain a lot of things and then lift was not available for a family member who is handicapped.
