We had a great trip led by Stefano a local to Milan. He has great knowledge of the history of the castle and past monarchy of Italy. A well recommended tour with a very knowledgeable guide. We had a great time. We even got to go places that weren’t listed on the schedule and this was really fun because it was off the beaten path away from huge crowds. We still got to see the main sites we wanted to see, but as a bonus got to see parts of Milan that I don’t think you would see if you were not with Stefano.

Our tour started out at the main fountain by the by the castle. Our guide Stefano did a great job. He is very well well-versed on all the sites and the history and lore of Milan. He also took us through quite a few spots that aren’t on the tour list which we would’ve never seen. Had we not signed on to this tour. The tour of the Duomo was super impressive. We scaled all across the roof up close to flying buttresses gargoyle’s statues where Stefano described all the characteristics of the great cathedral. Well recommended tour.

Stefano was a fantastic tour guide. The tour was the right size (6 people). We saw some of the more touristic sights, but also saw some beautiful places that are not touristic. I would highly recommend the tour.

Booking a tour in a yet to be explored city can be a bit of a guessing game; does it have all the things I want, is it long enough/too short, is it a good value? Suffice to say, we got lucky with Stefano and Abroads Tours. Upon meeting at the Sforzesco Castle, Stefano led us on an amazing walking tour through the grounds of the old fortress, through the Brera Arts district and Galleria and eventually to the Duomo. Through his knowledge of history from the Celtic beginnings of the region and through the many uprisings and upheavals of the ruling parties he expertly wove humor into his narrative while pointing out the significance of each stop along the way. Doing this with a small group (6 of us in total) not only allowed for interaction and focus on areas of interest but also ample opportunity to ask questions and clarifications on the more substantive historical points. For anyone with a penchant for learning and exploring, this is a MUST. The primary reason I signed up for this tour was the “Skip-The-Line” Duomo rooftop. And while that portion of the tour was spectacular, there were multiple “glad we did that” stops along the way ( Acedemia Di Brera, Galleria Vittorio frescos etc) that we would never have noticed while walking along by ourselves. AND he provided us with a list of recommendations for areas of the city that he, as a local, recommends to get off the beaten path and see Milan. Will definitely book with him again when back in Milan to see Lake Como and the wine regions of area (kind of sad we didn’t do it this time).

Great Semi Private Tour. Stephen met me at the Fountain and gave me a full history of all the exciting things about Milan. As we walked through multiple spaces in the city , he had something to tell me about everything. Once we got to the church we got to skip the VERY long line and gained access to the rooftop quickly. I was impressed by that. Stephen was super accommodating to how we were doing and continued to check in with us over the entire tour . Would absolutely do it again!

The five of us had a very good, walking, personal tour with Stefano of Abroads Tours in Milan. We saw the highlights and learned a lot about: the history of Milan, Sforza Castle, La Brera neighborhood and its Fine Arts Academy, Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle, La Scala and we went inside and on top of the roof of The Duomo. Stefano was personable, interesting, fun and answered all of our random questions on the tour. He calibrated the pace of the tour based upon our interest. The tour lasted approx 3 hrs 15 minutes and he gave us good recommendations for resturants to try while in Milan. I would highly recommend Stefano and Abroads Tours!

Good tour. Stefano took us to the top of the duomo and sforzesco castle and walked us through Brerra. We got an excellent flavor of Milan, less touristy view. Saw the Acadmy of Art, too. Just the right amount of time.showed us nice restaurants and gave us additional sites to see on a list he provided.

We almost skipped this and just explored on our own , really glad we didn’t. The tour was just 4 people, which made a big difference. Stefano could actually tailor things to what we were curious about, and the pace felt right the whole way through. His knowledge of Milan is seriously impressive. History, architecture, old legends about the city, he covers it all without ever making it feel like a history class. Genuinely entertaining. The highlight for us was the Duomo rooftop. We went on a Friday and the line outside was not moving. Our group got straight in. The views up there are unlike anything else in the city. Well worth booking, especially if you want something that feels more personal than a standard group tour.

Really loved this tour. We were only 6 people which made it feel almost private. Our guide Monica is an art historian and it shows, the way she explains the Duomo, the sculptures, the details you’d never notice on your own was on another level. Not dry at all, she made everything interesting. The rooftop views were stunning and we skipped what looked like an hour long line on a Wednesday. So worth it.
