Itinerary
Visit Sciuè Navigli, where Milanese aperitivo meets Neapolitan pizza tradition. Enjoy pizza fritta with a classic locally crafted beer from Lombardy’s oldest brewery, all in the vibrant ambiance of the Navigli canals (stop and tasting can vary depending on departure time).
Step inside one of Milan’s most authentic housing styles. Discover shared balconies overlooking inner courtyards that tell the story of working-class community life, now reimagined as creative hubs, offering a quiet, intimate glimpse of Milan just steps from the lively Navigli canals.
Visit one of the most atmospheric corners of the Navigli. This historic alley recalls a time when washerwomen used the canal for daily work, with original stone washboards still visible. The flowing water and preserved setting offer a vivid glimpse into Milan’s pre-industrial past and community life.
Explore Milan’s historic canal district, where waterways once powered trade and daily life. Today it’s a lively neighborhood blending history, creativity, aperitivo culture, and charming streets along the water.
Stop at a beloved spot on the Naviglio Grande, known for top-quality meat sourced from a renowned local butcher. Enjoy polenta with Gorgonzola and a selection of premium charcuterie or carpaccio, paired with a glass of wine, all in a cozy yet contemporary Milanese setting (stop and tasting can vary depending on departure time).
This Milan institution from 1994 is dedicated to Ligurian specialties. Enjoy farinata, the classic chickpea focaccia baked in copper pans, or the famous focaccia di Recco, filled with creamy cheese.
Stop at an iconic restaurant in the Navigli, famous for reimagining Milanese classics. Enjoy risotto alla Milanese with saffron, a rich ossobuco meatball or venison ragu, perfectly paired with a glass of wine.
End your tour with authentic artisanal gelato crafted by a husband-and-wife team for 15+ years. Made with natural ingredients and milk instead of cream, it’s lighter, silkier, and true to Italian tradition.

Awesome trip and tastes of Italy explore and explained.
Very enjoyable experience guide very good interesting food and drink stops
The experience was wonderful, Laura was great, funny, personable and very knowledgeable about the city.
Lots of fun discovering the Navigli area canals and restaurants as well as hidden courtyards. Laura was very knowledgeable and provided backgrounds for the food we ate and the area’s different sections. Would highly recommend!!
Laura was the best tour guide a I’ve ever had! Thank you for making my trip so special and for providing NA options!!!
Fun trip tasting food in Milan with Laura. Would recommend. We visited a bunch of restaurants and had some nice dishes and a few glasses of wine. Ciao!
The tour was interesting and the guide was charming. All food. exceptthe main course, was delicious but the main course was an odd choice. A pasta dish would have been a better choice if price is the motivator for the choice.
This tour exceeded my expectations. We spent 15 days in Italy and this tour was easily one of the highlights. Jessica was our guide and she told the most wonderful stories. The food on the tour was next level. Excellent quality. I would highly recommend.
Laura was amazing! So knowledgeable and fun—food and wine was delicious
Laura was fantastic. She did a great job explaining the different culture of the area and the foods.

We really enjoyed our food tour with Claire! She was informative, funny, kind, and welcoming. Everything we ate was delicious, and it was a very generous amount of food, definitely arrive hungry!
Chiara was wonderful and knowledgeable of the food and Italian culture. The food was great and it was fun to walk around the Navigli area and learn about the history of Milan.
chairs was wonderful ! very knowledgeable and friendly. don’t miss this tour. fabulous food and new friends
A must see tour of a wonderful area of Milan called Navagli. This was a great food and walking tour of the area with 5 stops along the way. Our guide Jessica was very knowledgeable about the foods and their history. Highly recommend
Wonderful walking food tour of the Navagli area. A must see if you are in Milan. Jessica our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the foods. She explained the origins and history of everything we ate. We stop at 5 places along the way. Highly recommend.
The tour opened up an area of Milan that we probably wouldn’t have explored. It was very lively on a Friday night. One of the 5 stations was disappointing involving meatballs (too pasty). The risotto was very crunchy and some people liked it that way. The carpaccio and meloncello were everyone’s favorite. The meeting point was a little tricky to find.
We had the best time with our guide Cecilia. She showed us all around the Navigli neighborhood and did not let us go hungry. I feel like we had at least 2 full meals along with desserts. It was delicious
The tour was wonderful. We had an excellent selection of Milan dishes. Our guide, Cecilia, could not have been better: she was personable, knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun.
Great experience. Our guide was amazing- great time- highly recommend as I do all Eating Europe experiences.
When visit a new city I always like to take a food tour. I find them to be so much more than food and learn about the area and the culture. This tour did not disappoint. We learned so much, ate some terrific food and really enjoyed our guide, Claire. If you only have one tour to book, this is the one.
Last year I did a tour in Rome with Eating Europe that was amazing. We had so much food with drinks at every stop. We were so full at the end. This tour was so disappointing in comparison. Most of the stops were not food from the area. Then we didn't get any spritz, which seemed quintessential for Navigli, and instead we had wine that wasn't from the area in two spots, and we didn't get drinks at every stop. We had Milanese risotto, which came with a tiny chunk of Osso Bucco that was so inedible. On my tour in Rome we had free refills of wine and multiple courses of food at the last stop. On this tour they never refilled wine glasses at any stop and there was just the one course at the last stop. We kept saying "at the next stop I'm sure there will be more food and drink to make this feel worth what we spent" but it never came. Our tour guide was very nice, but she couldn't make up for the food.
Dear Eating Europe, Thank you for the Navigli tour this evening. We want to say that our guide Chiara was very good and we had no issues with her performance this evening. However, we were very disappointed with the food on the tour. The polenta at one restaurant was poor. We eat polenta at restaurants in the US three or four times per year and it has been always far better in the US. I cannot believe that that polenta this evening was representative of at least "good" polenta in Milan. We thought similarly about the risotto on the tour. I like risotto very much and I eat it at home usually three times every two years. We have even made mushroom risotto at home a couple of times and the results have always been much better. One of the things that we noticed about three of the restaurants that we went to on the tour was that our tour group was the only customers in the restaurants even though surrounding restaurants which we passed had plenty of local guests within them. So, we think you need to seek better restaurants for your tour. Regards, Thomas McCroskey PS - Also, you should include a statement to meet the guide under the arch at the plaza. The Google Map link included in the instructions actually points to a location about 100 meters from the arch where we met.
Such a fun experience. Loved the local food and wine too!
The guide was terrific and smart Her name is mc and we did a private tour which was the way to go. The places were great and the experience was so worth the trip. Book with her.
What a great tour, love Navigli and all the food, history and people. Our guide MC, was incredible. So appreciate getting to know the people and food of the area!
Jessica was phenomenal! Fantastic tour and delicious food. She did an excellent job with each explanation and very interesting and fun information. Highly recommend! Jessica was a joy to be around and a great guide.
Nice food, friendly informative guide. Very nice food options and drinks. Nice pace. Highly recommended
Chiara was wonderful! We sampled a variety of delicious food and each was well portioned (better than most tours I’ve been on)! Great value and started / ended on time. Definitely recommend.
Lupo is d best. Great way to spend an evening.
Chiara “the wolf” was amazing! Very informative & fun. Navigli is a great area for a food scene!
This was one of the BEST food tours we have ever done...and my husband and I take a food tour on almost every trip abroad. Jessica was a superb tour guide... She was highly informative, engaging, organized, and incredibly sweet. Our group of 11 became fast friends, and Jessica brought a real sense of camaraderie & connection among us. The food was absolutely delicious...and we appreciated Jessica allowing us to try foods from the very best independent concepts, which provided high-quality tastings. Again, much appreciation, Jessica!
Wonderful food and wine experience, giving a great taste of Milan and Italy. Cecilia., our guide was wonderful
Cecilia was a terrific guide. We had stops on both sides of the river ending with gelato. Everything was delicious and there were choices to fit preferences and dietary requirements. There was a little bit of walking but fairly flat and mostly around the navgli. Recommended if you want try Milanese cuisine and also learn about the history of the Navgli.
Had a wonderful experience and learned a lot from Laura!
Laura B was excellent, sharing lots of interesting information about the food and history of Navigli and Milan. Navigli is such a vibrant area, with plenty of places to eat and lots of interesting things to see. It made for a really enjoyable evening. My favourite was the pizza doughnuts — I had never tried them before and loved them!
Laura was an informed and personable leader. Great locations!!!
Laura is the perfect guide for a perfect evening. The food is varied and uniformly delicious and the inforation Laura imparts is eye-opening even to experienced travelers who know Milan well. It’s an ideal “pairing.”
Super fun tour with Laura! She was very knowledgeable and loved all of the spots. There was a fun variety between each location. Was very full by the end
Chiara was amazing. She was an exemplary guide and made the experience truly memorable. Our group had so much fun together and enjoyed each of the locations, foods, and beverages immensely. I would highly recommend and would def do again and bring others.
