Here we will start the tour! In one of Milan's most elegant historic squares, where finance, architecture and modern lifestyles meet. Surrounded by impressive 19th century buildings and former banking headquarters, Piazza Cordusio represents the city transformation into Italy's economic capital. Just steps away from the Duomo and the luxury shopping district, this area blends heritage with contemporary energy. It's the perfect setting to taste local flavors while understanding how Milan evolved from medieval trade hub to global business center.
Close to here we will make a food stop in one of the oldest and most historically layered corners of Milan. Piazza San Sepolcro reveals the city's Roman origins and medieval soul, hidden behind the bustling main streets. Close to the ancient Church of San Sepolcro, built over the Roman Forum, this area connects visitors directly yo Milan's 2000- year history. While enjoying a local speciality, you will discover how deeply rooted the city's identity truly is.
Here we will make another stop! In Milan oldest neighborhood, the charming Cinque Vie District. This maze of narrow streets once formed the heart of the Roman city and today blends artisan workshops, antique dealers and refined boutiques. It is an intimate and authentic side of Milan, far from the main tourist paths. Tasting traditional products here means experiencing the city where craftmanship, creativity and historic coexist.
Here last stop and tour ends. Near the impressive Colonne di San Lorenzo, one of the most striking Roman remains in Milan. These ancient columns, dating back the 2nd Century, stand in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo as reminder of the city's roman past. Today the area is a lively social hub where history meets everyday Milanese life. enjoying local street food here means experiencing the contrast between ancient heritage and modern urban culture.

Our tour guide Simone was amazing. He started by showing us around parts of Milan as a tourist I wouldn't have known about. He explained various things that had happened in these areas and then took us to eat and the places we ate were incredible. Pizza ,meats ,cakes, ice cream, wow. All delicious 😋
Enjoyable with an easy walk and tasty selection. The energy, enthusiasm and information shared by the knowledgeable guide made it extra special.
We have been on many food tours in many cities. This was one of the best! Marco was an excellent guide- very friendly and his knowledge of the history of the city was top notch ! We had some very interesting stops , great timing with the food and walking. Plenty of food included- all amazing! Marco was very friendly and the conversation flowed easily. Highly recommend!
The perfect start to my time in Milan -- balancing intro hiatoric sites and restaurants I'd likely not ever find on my own. Simone was a great Milanese host.
Fantastic experience with Simone, he brought us in wonderful little gems were locals go and all the food was typical and tasty. I totally recommend it! The tour was also filled with history on the way :)
Absolutely fantastic !! Irena our guide was personable, knowledgeable and charming. She combined the history of Milan with delicious food. A must tour to take. Great value for the money. Irena is superb.
We had such a great time on this tour! All the food stops were wonderful and had incredible food. The tour guide was knowledgeable on not only the food but local history as well.
Marco was just the best! My daughter and I with a great guy from Germany were on the tour, all off the beaten track and exceptional food, the highlight for me if I had to pick one was Chris’s focaccia! It was just awesome. Marco was local and truly passionate about sharing his city’s food! Would highly recommend!
This was such a great tour. You really feel like you get an authentic food experience. Simon was a great guide and took us to so many different places. The geleto at the end was so good.
Simon was great. He took us a lot of places and we really enjoyed every aspect of this tour. He was knowledgeable and friendly. And took us to so many interesting places. We really got a taste of different regions of Italy. Simon made sure to come pick us up for the tour and at end called us a cab to get back to our hotel. The fact that we ended with gelato alone would be worth the praise but really all the food was amazing.
Great tour! Good food and Simon was very knowledgeable about Milan. Highly recommend
We’ve done many food tours. Usually each one has five different full tastings. This one had a vinegar tasting, which is not technically food, a meat platter, risotto, and 2 deserts. So really , the food was a meat platter and risotto.
Disappointing Experience, Especially for the Price While our guide was lovely and personable, he lacked enthusiasm and engagement. Very little history or insight was shared about the neighbourhoods, landmarks or food. Most conversations were driven by guests, and he even paused the tour several times to pet dogs. During tastings, he simply ate alongside us rather than explaining the food or its cultural significance. The food selection was equally disappointing: a sandwich, pizza, one small dessert and gelato—far less variety than the sample menu advertised. We book food tours in nearly every city we visit and have never felt compelled to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, this was by far our most disappointing experience, especially given the cost. We expected a more engaging and authentic introduction to Milan’s food and culture. Sadly, this tour fell well short of expectations and offered poor value.
Food was great, all stops were very nice, guide was helpful, would definitely do it again, weather was good
My husband and I only had a little over 24 hours in Milan after visiting Florence. I hands down recommend this food tour! We both agreed that it was one of the best experiences we've ever had, from the food, wine and lovely host Irena. We were fortunate to have a private tour during the evening and every stop promised something unexpected and delicious. You could truly tell that Irena was passionate about doing these tours, she honestly felt like a familiar friend. Try it, you will not regret it!
Simone was our tour guide and allowed us to sample a variety of great food. Our tour included an educational and tasting experience of balsamic vinegar, panzerotti, risotto a la MIlanese with wine, pastry and fabulous gelato.
We had a fantastic food/walking tour with Beatrice! It was fun and filling! Highly recommend!
A wonderful tour to 4 places to experience Milanese food as well as hear about the creation of balsamic vinegar. Our tour guide, Simone is a local and very knowledgable not only about the food, but also the buildings close to the eating places. This is a walking tour, but it would suit any fitness.
It was a great experience! I would highly recommend Viator who had great people organizing their groups!!
Marco was awesome! He met us at our hotel, and rode the subway to the meet location. Food was awesome, he knew alot about Milan. I would highly recommend!
Irene was a fantastic tour guide who brought us to several great spots along the way. We started at a balsamic vinegar tasting which I was not expecting but wanted to do while in Italy. I got some great balsamic to take home which will be used sparingly over the next years. We tasted several local dishes from sandwiches to pizzas to pastry to gelato which left us stuffed but happy. Because it was so hard to book a taxi in advance, she even helped us with that and saved us a ton of money over the outrageous prices Uber wanted for a quick ride to the train station.
Simon was an excellent tour guide, weaving in some interesting Milanese history in between food stops. Lovely way to spend an afternoon!
Great for tasting typical Milanese food in less crowded spots popular with the locals. Beautiful Milanese risotto with a smooth glass of red… I really enjoyed the unscheduled church visits, Simon is a very knowledgeable, friendly guide.
Good knowledge and experience
What a wonderful experience! Marco is an excellent tour guide! Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
Our tour guide, Marco, was enthusiastic and informative. His choice of venues was top notch and even included a balsamic vinegar tasting at a local store. I would highly recommend and plan on looking for tours like this in the future.
Marco!!! This gentleman loves his city, the passion inspired by great food and the experience of sharing food with wonderful company. Ask for him and you will not regret it.
Francesco was a very good tour guide. He met us at our hotel despite him asking if we could meet in town since when we booked the excursion it stated that the meet up could be at your hotel. After walking together into the center of town to meet up with the other participants, he proceeded to give us some history of the buildings and area we were going through all through the 3 hour tour. We stopped at 4 different eateries (2 featured savory food and 2 were sweet). Having been on a food tour in the USA before, we thought we would just be getting a small sample of a food item at each stop, but we were given full sandwiches at one location, 2 beautifully arranged charcuterie boards at another, very generous portions of Panetone (spelling) cake at a bakery (along with espresso if you wanted one) and 2 scoops of gelato at the last stop (you chose the flavors you wanted). The tour was a walking tour and there was a lot of that between each stop, but it was worth it for the history we learned and for the delicious food we were able to enjoy. The only downside of the excursion, was all participants were under the impression that we would end the tour at the same spot in town where the actual tour began; however, the guide ended the tour at the last food stop - which was about a 10 minute walk from where the tour began. Luckily, all the participants walked together and were able to navigate back to the original area where we then said good-bye to each other.
Had very nice traditional Milanese dishes. Simon was very helpful with recommendations for other places to visit during our stay in Milan.
Great experience with Simon! He took us to authentic and local Milanese spots and provided insight on what makes them uniquely Italian. We had a great time chatting with our group and would recommend this tour!
Simon was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone coming to Milan.
A great balance of fresh foods spread out over a variety of eateries
Great way to experience the less traveled parts of Milan. Our guide Marco was fantastic! Pre-tour communication was excellent and during tour interesting facts about Milan and it’s food.
Marco was an energetic guide and the collection of foods he shared with us was perfecto! We highly recommend this tour and with Marco for sure…this was our first food tour and it went so well we plan to do more!
We had Francesco as a guide. TOP NOTCH. He gave us a ton of Milano insights without being over the top. The food stops were also excellent, especially with the added information from Francesco.
I did not meet us in the spot where we were told to go. Took us 15 minutes to meet the guide. Would have loved more talking about the area where we were eating the food.
Amazing! Must do, great way to learn about the history, the city itself and really amazing food. Guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
Outstanding. An excellent tour. Meeting Marco and his foodie friends was great fun. Do make sure you turn up hungry as the food keeps flowing. Would highly recommend.
Amazing guide. Food stops were all excellent. Don’t eat before you go on the tour! Great experience and would highly recommend.
This tour had a very good menu with locations that were spread out in a way that we got to walk through a lot of hidden streets in Milan. Marco was a very charismatic and knowledgeable guide that made the tour even better! The pacing was also very good.
We loved Marco! He was a doll and taught us so much about local vinegars, meats, cheeses, bread, risotto and spices! Ended our tour with the best gelato! The shop offered unusual flavors that were fresh and creamy! After eating gelato for the last 10 days in 4 different Italian cities, I can say Hands down the best gelato!! Also, he answered every random question we threw at him from where to buy inexpensive suitcases to the best time to leave for the train station for the airport! Take a tour with Marco! You will not regret it!
There was a misunderstanding, as I am in a wheelchair for any distance more than a block Our guide Simon seemed like a decent person, however, I felt he did very little to alter the route to accommodate the situation. After about 20-30 minutes, we decided it was best to leave the tour.
Great walking food tour with Simon! He was great and we got to try some fun local food Options. Delicious food. And simon did a nice job dealing with a very rude family on the tour who were making it uncomfortable for all of us. Grateful when they exited so we could enjoy the walk through the city and good food. Lots of walking. NOT wheel chair friendly!! Wear comfortable shoes!!
There were some people on the tour who were challenging but our tour guide, Simone was wonderful. There was perhaps a bit too much discussion of churches and other history but the food component was tasty, informative and quite generous in portions. My tip going forward is to eliminate the random history and focus more on gastronomic history. Overall though quite good.
Simon was wonderful, even after dealing with a sticky situation.
We had a great experience visiting some local family restaurants and delicious food. Simone our guide was great and very patient as there were some very rude people on the tour.
With a right person as your tour guide, as in our case with Simone, we had a blast. Learned about balsamic vinegar, this was an eye opener; tasted and top notch Napoli pizza made from fresh organic ingredients; followed by aperitif and charcuterie, dessert, and ended with the best gelato! Had a great time!
Was little disappointed as both the starting time and meeting point changed to what was advised at time of booking. These are things I definitely take into consideration when booking an experience, so found it very misleading. As a result I missed half the tour. What I did experience was satisfactory, but felt the guide was disinterested. Again the end point differed to what was advertised, and the guide had to be encouraged to lead us to an appropriate metro stop so we could find our way back to Hotel.
Simone was fantastic! It was more than a food tour. He stopped along the way to point out ruins and other important landmarks in Milan which was an added bonus. Plus he gave me extra recommendations for Milan and the surrounding areas. I would definitely book with him again!
