Lake Como Photo Experience: Bellagio, Cruise & Lugano From Milan

Starting with pickup in Milan, the trip included a bus ride to Como,with short visit, a boat cruise to Bellagio, visit to Bellagio, a ferry to the other side of the lake, then the bus to Lugano before returning to Milan. The scenery was stunning, though the boat ride felt a bit too long, with limited space to move for better photo spot and leaving little time to explore Como, Bellagio, and Lugano. However this gives the opportunity to meet interesting people from many parts of the world and exchange views, photos, or ideas for next visits, Boarding the boat was quite crowded under the sun, and the best seats were taken quickly. The guide, Lina, was very knowledgeable and energetic, making the tour engaging. The trip fees were great value for the length of the journey, but expect slightly higher restaurant prices since there’s little time to search for options. It’s best for getting an overview, then returning to spend more time in one or two of the villages.

Carolina was wonderful as our guide for the day! Very detailed with her explanations and history of all the locations that we visited! Allowed ample time to explore on our own and take breaks with some meals and drinks between locations. Very nice to everyone and would highly recommend her!

The tour guide cancelled my trip because of a logistical problem. They offered an alternative that didn’t work with my schedule. I’ve emailed Viator customer service deice to get a refund and no response. I’m very disappointed.

This trip was truly the highlight of my time in Italy—it honestly felt like being taken from earth to heaven! My friends and I were speechless at the beauty of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. We started with a smooth bus ride from Milan Central Station and then enjoyed an incredible private boat cruise on the lake. Seeing the grand villas, like the famous Villa del Balbianello, from the water was a total dream. Bellagio, often called the "Pearl of Lake Como," was breathtaking with its charming artisan shops and narrow, colorful streets. Crossing the border into Lugano, Switzerland, added such a unique touch—getting to see the Swiss Alps and strolling through the elegant Parco Ciani on the lakeshore made the day even more special. Our guides, Frank and Lina, were fantastic! They were so friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran like clockwork. The timing was perfect, the bus was very comfortable, and our driver was a complete professional. If you're in Milan, don't miss this; it’s an absolute must-do that makes the whole holiday complete!

This was such a great tour and the best part of it all was our tour guide Marina. She was fun, funny, smart and knew so much about history. We are traveling all over Europe and this was the best tour yet. Thank you Marina.

This tour was very disappointing and poorly managed. It started 20 minutes late, which caused us to miss the first scenic photo stop — something we were really looking forward to. At Bellagio, the guide instructed us to return at 3:20 PM, but instead, we were made to wait for another boat. This decision delayed us significantly, and we arrived in Lugano about 1 hour and 15 minutes late. As a result, we missed the opportunity to properly explore Lugano — most shops were already closed, and our free time was reduced to only about 40 minutes because the driver could not wait any longer. Additionally, the guide’s commentary throughout the trip was often irrelevant and filled with unnecessary remarks, including uncomfortable opinions about wealth and social class. The tone felt unprofessional and at times disrespectful. Overall, the experience was disorganized, stressful, and did not deliver what was promised.

Wasnt informed properly. I thought it was being moved to Dec 6 then without realizing it was really cancelled. Bad thing... i didn't go to Lake como... everything messed up.

Tour time was changed without notification but Ms. Lina (guide) and Mr. Mario (bus driver) was phenomenal…we would definitely recommend this tour!!

The tour guide was excellent and made meet up instructions very clear. The beauty of Lake Como is amazing! The boat ride allowed us to see the lake from a different perspective. The bus rides are long but worth the effort.

The trip was overall good and well organized. The guide was friendly and the itinerary was interesting. However, the bus seats were quite narrow and uncomfortable for a long ride. Also, the ferry part of the tour was shorter than expected — it felt more like a bus trip than a boat experience. Still, it was an enjoyable day overall.

Carolina was great, she spoke both English and Spanish well which was great and the tour was very cohesive. We took the routes she recommended and the timing worked out beautifully. It was a nice tour.

The tour covered a lot of areas around Lake Como, while allowing for time to explore Lake Como and Bellagio areas. It also included a one hour boat tour. The tour director continually provide narrations throughout the day. We did run into heavy traffic upon returning in Milan.

It should be noted in the description that there is no bathroom on the bus or boat. It is a 1 hour trip to Como. Then you have 1.5 hours on your own. No tour. Then a 1 hour trip to the boat. Then 1 hour on the boat. The tour guide provides narration, but people are rude and have loud conversations, completely ignoring the guide. Then 1.5 hours in Bellagio on your own. No tour. Then a 15 min boat ride back to the bus. And finally a 3.5 hour bus ride back to Milan. It should also be suggested that there is a minimum age of 10. They constantly remind you to find a toilet before getting on the bus/boat, however to do that you have to make a purchase at a bar/restaurant. I would not recommend this tour.

The trip was a wonderful experience. Very professional guide and driver. Lunch at Bellagio at a lakeside restaurant was a real highlight.

Lake Como is definitely worth seeing and Bellagio was beautiful as well. We had time to explore on our own, explore the towns and eat to our hearts content. We were recommended a gelateria and a restaurant, both were nice. The tour guide and driver were good. Tour guide taught us a bit of Italian phrases as well. I enjoyed the boat rides and seeing the beauty of Lake Como. I definitely understand why it is so well-known. The tour made it easy to get around and explore without any worries. The only thing, I noticed some reviews prior to booking said their tour (the same tour) also included Lugano, Switzerland, whereas ours did not. I feel every tour should be relatively the same with inclusions and it's unfair to be paying the same price for the same tour to give a different experience depending on the day/tour guide/driver etc. It should be the same inclusions, either included or not. Also, when booking, you choose "English" or "Spanish" tour but there is no reason to choose, the tour is in both. Which was a surprise because I selected English, thinking it would be a fully English tour but the guide will repeat the same lines in both languages, so something to keep in mind. Bring the correct charger (for on the bus) because I did not and my phone died unfortunately towards the end of the day, so I would recommend asking what charger is required or bringing your own power bank for back-up.

Was a lovely day. The only negative feedback i hav is on meeting point. Was hard to find and we did not know you have to find tour operator. Very messy to start with but day great

Experience overall was good - didn’t stop by to see the Italian gardens and instead went past them with the boat. Coach trip on the way back had no breaks and was exhausting as long and cramped either not much room. Paid extra to have “Aperol spritz’s” included on the boat but that never happened. The whole trip felt a bit rushed as it stated it will take 11 hours but lasted around 6-7hrs. Probably wouldn’t book it again, and don’t spend the extra cash for drinks as you won’t get any.

carolina and francesco are the best we saw lake como from everywhere and we visited bellagio also and it was very good trip

The day was long. We also stopped at Como city which wasn’t part of the tour which extended the time. Going around Lake Como was beautiful in the boat while the tour guide advised where all the celebrities has homes Bellagio was a disappointment. The place was over crowded with tourists and had nothing to really offer except for Restuarant’s and ferry rides. A over priced tour

A Fantastic day made even better with the travel company adding a free upgrade to the tour to include Lugano at no extra charge! Our guide (Argentino) did a superb job guiding us from Milan to Como City, a scenic road tour of the lake, a ferry ride to Belaggio, a private lake cruise and then a trip to Lugano. Whilst a long day (08:30 to 19:00) it was well worth it and great value. A must do if you are staying in Milan or nearby.

The tour is highly recommended because of convenience. The bus ride is basically the easiest way to get to Como and Bellagio along with the boat ride. Franco our tour guide is very informative and really knows the ins and outs of this part of Italian history. Maybe just one note, I have experienced it in other tours before that if other tourists are not paying attention or talking over the guide while explaining things disturbing the other tourists that are listening, the guide calls their attention and respectfully asks them to keep quite while they are talking. At the bus, I was sitting close to these 2 other travelers they were in front of me in the bus, and they kept talking while the guide is also talking. I think the guide did notice it too but of course he is just being nice as well, but reminding people to not talk or talk in low voices while he is explaining things wouldn’t hurt. Also is other travelers see this review, please be respectful of the tour, nothing wrong with chit chatting, but be respectful of other tourists who are actually listening and paying attention to the tour.

Lovely day in beautiful Lake Como and Bellagio. Delicious lunch at recommended restaurant. Knowledgeable guide who kept us informed. Plenty toilet stops.

The tour was a great experience and opportunity to see Bellagio and the lake. Our tour guide and driver were so informative and kind. We had a great day. It was a private tour for the three of us with beautiful views on the drive to Lake Como and Lugano. There is plenty of free time in both locations to enjoy the areas. Would highly recommend this tour!

This was absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond, honestly when they didn't have to; I had made a stupid mistake and got the destination from where the tour bus would depart mixed up when I ordered an Uber. So instead of heading to the stop at Via Marina, we ended up at Milan Centrale. Gutted by this mistake I had made, I had accepted that we needed to change our plans, and take the train up to Como instead. Once inside Milan Centrale, I get a most unexpected message on WhatsApp. It was from the management, asking me if we were joining the tour. I was so surprised by this, and so happy, because they didn't have to. Because it was me that was at fault. But they did. And that made a world of difference. So the manager (I unfortunately never caught the name of this person; if you read this: a thank you x1000!) I was kept up to date with information and ended up meeting up with the tour bus in Como after we took a train there. The rest of the day was simply a joy to behold, after a stressful start for us. What magnificent scenery! But I cannot thank the excellent host Josepine and driver Mario enough! True professionals; kind, funny and knowledgeable and made the trip a joyous experience! The drive was smooth and comfortable when we were driven around the lake, taking in the stunning sights all around. Once again, thank you so much for this great experience!

While the journey was smooth, there were some issues. While on the bus, we were not able to hear what the guide was saying over the microphone because she spoke softly and the bus engine was loud. Como was beautiful, and we had plenty of time to explore. The boat ride would have been better if we’d gotten a seat outside, but there wasn’t enough room. It was miserable (lack of air flow and hot) inside the boat. We had an hour and a half in Bellagio, and we ate at the recommended restaurant. It was a disappointing experience because the promised view of the lake was nonexistent, and the service was slow. We had no time to explore Bellagio. If the issues mentioned are fixed, this tour will be excellent.

Highly recommend this tour! Great value for all you get. Great bus ride to Como with a very nice and informative guide. Next trip up coast and stop in Bellagio for time to walk around and a beautiful oat ride. Nice ride back and great driver. So many sights to see for a great price! Andrea was our guide and he was excellent!!!

An exceptional tour! Lina and Mario were wonderful and took excellent care of us. Great communication all around. Lina’s translation was seamless. The 1.5 hour stops in both Como Town and Bellagio were very welcome. Boat ride to Bellagio was great fun too!

This was a good tour. The guide was great and the locations were fun and beautiful. The only issue was the A/C on the bus broke. It was 90 degrees and super uncomfortable. This was not the tour guides fault however.

Terrible, bus with broken AC. no way to fix it and felt we were in a sauna for several hours. For what we paid we would have expected better or even try to fix it while we where out for lunch (more than 2 hours) Tour Ok but nothing out standing

Lina was our tour guide accompanied by the extremely talented Alfredo the bus driver who maneuvered the huge bus through tight spots and hairpin turns getting us safely through the small villages in the Alps. Lina, very passionate about educating people on Italian customs and history, also made sure we saw George Clooneys houses, the Star Wars Ep 2 house, and places where the stars visited like Taylor swift and lady Gaga. For sure, you need to follow Lina’s lead as she will tell you the best place to get tableside Fettuccine and a quick and delicious gelato. You may also learn a little Italian! Before I talk about lake Como, please know that Lina won’t leave anyone behind. She’s extremely compassionate and caring and she treats each large group like she’s our mother, making sure we all stay together and we are all happy and healthy ❤️. Lake Como and Bellagio are must sees. The incredible views of the Alps, the lush landscapes and the beautiful villages are something you will never forget. It’s very expensive to stay at Lake Como even for one night, but this full day excursion will give you the best value for your money as you can experience Lake Como and the Alps without breaking the bank. Thank you Lina and Alfredo for an amazing day!

About 24 hours before the starting time we were informed that the itinerary had been changed to include Lugano. Then they were late at the meeting point were we found that the bus was already almost full. We spent 11 hours mostly in the bus. In Como, there was time to have a Quick Look of the Cathedral and to buy ice cream and back to the bus. In Bellagio we had lunch and back to the bus after walking about 15 minutes under the rain since the bus was parked outside of town.. so, we saw nothing of Bellagio. Lugano time was similar to Como. There was a ride in a boat on the lake that was nice and the only enjoyable portion of this tour. Spending so much time on the bus is boring and tiresome.

Great value for a wonderful day! Marco did a great job with speaking both English and Spanish. Would do again!

Amazing first solo travel, took all the stress out of being on my own, an amazing beautiful place, accompanied by great knowledge from the guide

Not sure why they picked the meeting point for customers, we were assigned to a spot requiring taxi ride to reach even if there is a pick spot right in front of our hotel in Milan Centrale. In addition, the departure time was confusing at best. There is a departure time on the ticket, but the is also a different departure time on the ticket notice. The difference is 30 min. Customers following the advice on the notice had to stand in the rain for more than half an hour to catch the bus. The tour guide was fantastic and helpful and journey went rather smoothly.

Very good tour and absolutely stunning views. I highly recommend. Our tour guide Karolina was absolutely lovely and knowledgeable. However a fair warning - make sure you check the weather first and bring the rain coat as weather can change quite quickly.
