Very informative, lots of local knowledge. Beautiful scenery and the cruise of lake Como was a highlight. The train trip was also absolutely wonderful. We are very happy we got to see so much in a day.

The itinerary was well-planned and covered much ground for the day. The trip was combined with Spanish and English speaking groups which was unknown to us at the time we signed up for the trip, Our guide, Miss Magela had to repeat everything that she was saying in two languages. Unfortunately we could not understand anything she said in the English portion due to her accent and the speed in which she spoke. I would never take a dual language tour if I would would have known
Long day but well worth it. Lina and Marco were awesome. Tour covered a lot of territory- kids wanted more time in Como. That said, love to come back in winter.
Tour had every single seat sold. Because some groups were odd numbers many couples didn't sit with each h other for 8 hours out of 13. Group was WAY too big. Guide talked very fast hopping between Spanish and English with a heavy accent. She was hard to understand. We had vox boxes BUT she didn't always use them when she should. People quit listening and started talking and it was very confused as a result. Beautiful places. Very dissatisfied with the tour. I understand a full bus is $ but the people who paid hood money suffered. I do NOT recommend. We had a long ride home due to traffic and the giide fell asleep! Ive never seen that. People who speak Spanish were asking us (only English) for help because they did not hear the guide. It was basically chaos at times.
Fantastic day only it says panoramic train but its just normal windows still see loads and if your guide was like ours his information was much appreciated.
The Bernini express train ride is on the short leg at lower altitudes. Was disappointed. Guide was great. All else was great.
Had a great day, Joanne our tour guide was fantastic, so organised and very thorough in her explanations for meeting places, times etc
Awesome experience. Lake Como boat ride was good. The Tim spent is St Moritz was great and the train ride down from St Moritz to Tirano on the Bernina Red train was breathtaking!
Tour guide didn’t follow the itinerary he didn’t covered full itinerary as we paid full amount for the tour!!! I won’t suggest Viatour
DO NOT BOOK WITH THESES GUYS On the way to the pick up point there was a car crash so we was 10 minutes late ,they didn't wait 10 minutes yes that's right 10 mins on a 12hr trip costing £488 ,no refund no chance to change the date ,absolutely gutted to lose that kind of money !!
Great scenery. Informative. Not enough time to use rest rooms and not enough time to shop/eat in Switzerland. Great to see the things but need more time.
Beautiful scenery, nice amount of time in St Moritz. Guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. One unfortunate part was that our family was not seated together on the train. Our coach was packed and there was no effort to seat people in a way that we could be together. We were the last to board and we were in random places all over. Additionally because the coach was at capacity it was hard to get pictures. People at the windows didn’t make space for others. Fun trip overall though.
Ok just read some rather stupid reviews sorry not trying to offend. We missed our original trip but managed to get on today monday 29th june. Now first i would say people read the statements of what is included! This trip was awesome and interesting and absolutely stunning. Yes, the plan apparently said it does include a guided tour of St Moritz but hey its 13 hours already and we did not waste time. Our tour guide and drivers were brilliant and helpful. It was not a trip to visit and tour towns it was a guided tour of Lake Como and the train trip and seeing the Como in its beauty and the Alps. The money was not an issue 13 special hours is about 10 Euro and hour with a tour guide and drivers! Anyway, this troup was special and did a great job I would highly recommend. Oh and next time guys make sure its not raining ....... only kidding maybe people think you can change the weather to.
This is a long day trip but you cant go wrong with Como and Switzerland. It’s totally worth the time. Temperatures were low in St Moritz so dress warmly. Our guide Carolina MG was phenomenal and managed all the activities and group phenomenally. I would highly recommend this tour and above all Carolina. Would def say hi to her when i am in Milano area next.
Cruising on Lake Como and travelling by the Bernina express are both dreams....and this trip brings them together beautifully. A day well spent- marvelling at the beautiful sights each place has to offer. Would recommend bringing a pullover for St. Moritz as it gets slightly chilly.
Great team :travel guide and drivers. Very informative and interesting trip. It was very nice boat trip on lake Como , train trip trough the Swiss and walking trip in St. Moritz.
Everything was so organized and our guide Marco was very experienced and very kind. We loved everything about it. I would recommend this to anybody.
Great experience travelling with the group of 23 people, this trip is highly recommended! Our driver is very accurate with the tour guide Robert. He is well informed of the surroundings.
It was a great experience. Totally enjoyable. The various modes of transportation were all comfortable. The scenery was spectacular. All in all a great day.
We booked this day trip which started at 7:15, we were late so they waited a few minutes. It’s very long - the lake como part could really be missed yes the views are nice, but aside from half an hour time free time you don’t get much time to explore, the train trip was lovely! It’s really hard to find time to eat breakfast/ lunch and no eating was allowed on the bus. Do take water, and some snacks for stops, maybe even sandwiches as certain shops even in st Moritz are closed 1-3pm. Remember to buy your Swiss chocolate! Defo worth it. All in all nice trip would have been nice to stop at the top for photo ops but never happened. It’s a bit 2.5 hours there and back by bus, so it’s a 13 /14 hour trip - so one to consider before booking. You will have sound sleep once back at your hotel!
The views were beautiful and it was a nice way to see the swiss alps and lake como. However the day felt disorganized and rushed. Many times we were told not to stop for pictures walking to/ from destinations with beautiful views. And we were not told when bathroom or food stops would be. For example we did not know how long the train ride would be or if it served food. So while the train ride did have a bathroom after we got off the train we found out we only had 15 minutes in a town to buy something from a cafe to use their bathroom when there were 2 tours there at the same time with over 60 people trying to use one bathroom stall. Only after getting back on the bus we were told we had a 3 hour drive back to Milan. The day felt very rushed and chaotic with most of it feeling preventable if the day and timing had been more laid out. We did 4 other tours while in Italy and this was our least favorite. I would only recommend this one if the goal is to see the alps and lake como.
Long trip, but great views on the lakes and in the mountains and great guides.
We had a great experience! We had plenty of time at each stop and the guide even gave us recommendations of where to go in St. Mortiz and in Como. Highly recommended this tour!
Plenty of comfort stops for food, drinks etc. temp in early April was quite mild. The stop at lake como was rather frantic with passengers piling into the spaghetti restaurant- just go to the ones next door where you’ll be served quicker.
Absolutely a delight full packed day-all at a relaxed pace but a day to remember the experience Well doneto all the organisers and our tour guide whi did a excellent job Thank you for all your hard work and knowledge for the trip
Como is famous for its beauty, that fame is earned. All major European cities have Cathedrals, The “Red Train” is unique. If you do one thing in the Milan area, do this.
Spectacular scenery, guide Clara provided just the right amount info! Bus driver great too……………………..
A fantastic day, once in a lifetime experience. Franco the guide is very friendly to chat to
It is a long day - first stop is after the Como boat trip.Como boat trip is amazing. Guide we had was excellent and very informative. Scenery is breathtaking - it’s a long day but worth it - St Moritz is like a manicured garden - the town itself is nothing special. The journey on the Bernina express is incredible- especially in snow!
Very good experience and the train ride was very fun and scenic was spectacular. It was snowing when we were on the train too which made the experience even greater. The bus ride return back was very long (2.5 hours non stop) and the bus was fully packed with people. It would be nice if the guide can arrange seats for families or couples on the bus ride and train ride as I have seen some couples have to sit separately on the long bus ride and train ride. Luckily we arrived earlier so we could sit together in the coach, otherwise we all had to sit separately.
This is a long day but wow, the time at Lake Como and St Moritz were both fantastic. The train journey is spectacular! Be aware if travelling on a Sunday a lot of shops in St Moritz were closed but we managed some chocolate and souvenirs along with a quick drink stop, plus side the traffic out and into Milan was swifter than we expected . Our guide was really knowledgeable and kept us on time. All in all an excellent trip, could not have done this independently. Slight down side no toilet on the bus and no refreshment trolly on the train but we had prepared for both of these situations!
Katia was our guide. She was great. Was able to answer questions or help if we needed something. The tour was lovely. Lots of beautiful scenery. My suggestion is to wear layers as the train ride can be cold. Many people will have the windows open for the entire journey. Lake Como has beautiful scenery. After Lake Como we boarded the bus for the journey to St. Moritz through high mountain roads with many hairpin turns and snowy mountains and glaciers. I would recommend this tour.
Guide of the tour Mrs. Magela was not frlendly and her English was not clear and fluent, she speaks with an Italian accent so we have difficulties about understanding. I think the leisure time for Como was so short, we had no time for taking pictures and consequently nowhere recommended for buying souvenirs accept Swiss chocolate shop in saint Moritz. We hope to buy magnets for our collection but we couldn’t.
The scenery was beautiful and the tour itself had great potential, but the guide, Maurizzio, ruined the experience. We arrived early so my 77-year-old mother, who gets motion sickness, could sit in the front row. The second driver, who was seated in the front row behind the main driver, agreed. However, Maurizzio, the tour guide, shouted "no" from outside the bus. When I tried speaking with him, he dismissed me and treated me as if I were ignorant and had never traveled, insisting the front row could not be used for "safety" reasons. I have traveled the world and never encountered this. He then took the right-side front row for himself to stretch out, even dozing off at times, while my mother was forced to sit in the second row and feel uncomfortable for no valid reason. The destinations were wonderful, but the guide's rude behavior, lack of empathy, and unprofessionalism overshadowed the day.
Do not book with this vendor. They are rude and unaccommodating. Our taxi was stuck in traffic for 20 minutes, and we arrived just six minutes late. Despite explaining the extenuating circumstances, they refused to wait or offer any refund. We understand there are schedules to keep, but their rude behavior, refusal to let us join the tour on our own in Lake Como, and unwillingness to reschedule us for another day show a complete lack of customer service. This vendor is inflexible and greedy. Save yourself the frustration — choose a different Bernina Train and Lake Como tour.
Tour is packed with activities and still allows for time on your own. Lake Como and San Moritz are both very beautiful places.
Such a relaxing & breathtaking view of the Alps! Can’t recommend this trip enough. The bus drive through the Lake Como & the Bernina pass area were gorgeous but sometimes seemingly dangerous however we had the BEST driver & never felt scared. We loved everything about this trip!
Great experience! It’s a long day but packs in what other itineraries would do in two days in just one! Comfortable bus with good drivers, perfectly on time departure. Andrea was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable, and especially accommodating to my Nana who walks slowly with a cane. The cruise was on a comfortable boat with inside and outside seating, fantastic views of all the sights along the lakeshore. Nice amount of free time in St Moritz for lunch and shopping before the Bernina train for which the group has a whole car reserved. The bus takes a different route on the way back so you see different sights all day which was very nice although a lot of people (including myself, briefly) fall asleep on the ride back to Milan, and Andrea thoughtfully limited the commentary towards the end. Highly recommend this tour!
Great tour, I hesitated and nearly didn’t book this tour based on the reviews however it was fantastic! It’s a long day, there’s no doubt about that and the drive at the end of the day back is a killer but the overall experience was fabulous. Ticking off a ton of sights, starting with a scenic drive up the west side of lake Como, cruise around the famous villas, drive through the wine region, jump on the stunning train which has open windows for perfect photo taking. Followed by free time in St Moritz and a drive along the east side of the lake back to Milan. Tour guide was informative and friendly and bus modern with air conditioning. Overall a wonderful day, no complaints. Would recommend it!
My tour was run for Autostradale Viaggi, June 8th, and two issues happened. The tour in Lago Como was only 35 minutes, not 1 hour. The listing says 1-hour Lake Como cruise by private boat. I asked the guide when we finished the boat ride, and she said that the tour was always 30 or 35' only. So if she is right, you should correct the listing I would've booked anyway, but I don't like when they don't state the truth. It was a sunny and beautiful day to enjoy 25 more minutes. I would like an answer from the Company about this! I was on time early in the morning, making the line to get into the bus, when I showed my ticket to the Tour guide, she said that I was not in her bus, she told me to wait for my bus there. I asked her a second time because time was passing, I showed again my ticket, the time matched, the Company name and she said I was not in her bus. I started running around the block asking another guides, everybody trying to help, it was already the departure time, i got nervous, when I got a call from the company's office that my bus was about to leave, I could've missed my tour because the Tour guide didn't care about checking well, when I went back to the bus she called my name and yelled at my saying that I was supposed to look for my name in her list. She didn't say that when I asked twice and I was not supposed to do her job! The spectacular views from the Train made me forget all the hustle, and I could enjoy my day.
The scenery was absolutely amazing and is a must, the train was just lovely. The timing of the tour felt quite rushed. The bus was about 20 minutes late at the start of the day which put off everything else, and we had no time to stop at the first place with only time to rush into a cafe to go to the toilet being told to be back a specific time but not actually leaving untill 15 minutes later where we didn’t need to rush. The day was absolutely beautiful but I think some work needs to be done with the timing of places.
I wanted to see Lake Como and ride the Bernina Express, and with my limited time, this allowed me to do both. The cruise in Lake Como was great. I didn't do the St Moritz walking tour with the group. I just grabbed a sandwich and strolled around on my own. The Bernina Express really is a brilliant train journey. I'm not sure having opening windows is better than the other carriages with the big windows as they dont open the whole way, so you sort of have to stand up to take photos.
I had a terrible experience with this company and wouldnt recommend them to anyone. I booked a tour through the Getyourguide website for the day trip from Milan to Lake Como and St. Moritz with this company. When I faced a difficult situation during the tour, they were completely unhelpful and unhelpful and unresponsive. It was unacceptable and has caused me significant financial loss and emotional distress. Below are the key issues I encountered: 1) Misleading Itinerary & Last-Minute Changes: I discovered that the itinerary was not as advertised. At the last minute, the train departure location was changed and replaced with a cheaper optionthe tickets for this new route were less than what was promised. 2) Difficult Meeting Point & Communication Breakdown: The meeting point in St. Moritz was extremely hard to locate. To make matters worse, the communication tool provided by the company stopped working at a crucial moment, leaving me with no way to reach out for assistance. I began sending messages shortly after the bus departed, but received no response. 3) Stranded, Missed Train, and Lack of Assistance: Since I received no communication from the company, I was forced to figure out my own way back to Milana process that took over six hours and required me to change between four different buses and trains. Throughout this ordeal, I repeatedly reached out to them, not only to secure my return but also to arrange a way to collect my bag. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response until the following morning (after contacting Getyourguide who sent them an email), a mere 20 minutes before the bus was scheduled to depart from the Milan spot. By that time, I had already missed my early morning train from Milan, and the 20-minute window provided was completely inadequate. 4) Unprofessional Treatment & Humiliation: When I finally reached the bus, the driver insisted that I return an outdated communication device (a radio) before releasing my bag. During my subsequent conversation with the managerwho spoke rudely and without any empathyI was further humiliated when an individual from their team physically pushed me off the bus in front of over a hundred passengers. This appalling treatment forced me to raise my voice before they reluctantly returned my bag. This entire experience demonstrates a clear disregard for customer well-being and professional service. This company completely neglects its customers when they need help the most. If something goes wrong, dont expect them to care. Avoid this company at all costs!
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS OPERATOR. The tour is offered as a “luxury air conditioned bus” and “Relax in climate-controlled comfort as you travel by luxury coach” - THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was far too hot, for three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon, everyone was extremely uncomfortable and feeling sick, the bus smelt of body odour and everyone was having the fan themselves with whatever the could. Company is lying that the air conditioning broke on the way back but it was never on!!! Several people got up to request it. Guide and driver were uninterested, rude and self-important (throughout the day not just about the air con). Neither seemed to actually enjoy what they were doing or wanted to interact with the customers. The guide even arrived late to the meet up point after lunch. Most uncomfortable day of any holiday ever, they have completely ruined this experience.
Excellent experience on the Bernina Train.... Magical! Breathtaking views, refreshing chill weather and delicious food on Houser. Definitely will go again
The Lake Como cruise and Bernina train ride was such a joy and major highlight. St Moritz was also beautiful town. A must do when in Milan. Also very important to respect the tour guide’s times at each destination.
A lot of mixed reviews here and I want to clear up some of the misconceptions here. Firstly I would highly recommend this tour if you are in Milan during winter and are short for time - the tour has a lot to unpack with the Lake Como cruise and riding the red Bernina train - all fantastic once in a lifetime experiences. We went with a big contingent - two groups largely Spanish and English speaking and the guide did a great job communicating in these 2 languages with the sights and stories she was able to share. Yes the journey is fairly long - so if you are hoping to have a long free and easy time at each destination, then you’re going to need to more than a day and this tour would probably not suit you. I liked that we went to Lake Como during the off peak season so we didn’t have to wrestle with the crowds and could take nice photos. The major highlight was the 2 hour Bernina train ride from Tirano to St Moritz as the scenes of the snow capped mountains and towns we went past were breathtaking. It’s quite amazing with the railway infrastructure that’s been built at 2000m high. We had 1.5 hours to explore St Moritz which I felt was sufficient - I have to say the Swiss life ain’t cheap given the finer things they have at their disposal. Loved the town nonetheless - very fairy tale like. Lastly, as with any tour, you have to RESPECT the times given by your guide (perhaps it should have been highlighted a bit more), hence I’m not surprised that people get left behind and I suspect it may have happened more than once. Oh and also, the Bernina train ticket has a 24 hour expiry date, so you may even elect to stay a night at St Moritz and make your own way back to Italy but be sure to let your guide know about this. Thumbs up to the driver too who aced the journey throughout. Overall, I’d still highly rate this tour as the scenery spectacle were really mesmerising.
We booked on "Get your guide" the tour "Como lake - Saint-Moritz - Bernina train" organized by Autostradale viaggi We went on Thursday 29th December 2022 My comment was not accepted by the get your guide website (it seems that they do not accept negative reviews, but only good ones) so that why i am publishing it here. I was expecting more from this tour … I think that time is short to see in one same day Como Lake, St Moritz and Bernina Train … especially in winter time when Sun goes down quite early in mountain (16h45) The tour itself is not well designed : There were no clear time table that was given of the tour, until last moment we wasn’t sure if we head to Tirano or to St Moritz after the Lake information given by the tour guide was not clear and confusing, her microphone was noisy and her speech wasn’t as clear as it has to be. We started at 7h in front of Scala Theatre Milano, we stopped in Train Station Centrale to hop on other clients of the tour. The coach make another stop at 08h30 in a gas station on the highway to Lecco, to make everyone takes coffee and quick breakfast, that was completely useless and time wasting since the gas station cafeteria could not handle 50 clients at the same time. We reached Varenna at 9h30 and started the tour in Boat, it lasted 40mn nearly and then went for a walk in Varenna for 20mn. It would be better to get the coffee there in front of the lake and not in the gas station, there were sevral coffee and beautiful bars where to stay, the time we spent in the gas station would be better in the lake instead. The road from Varenna to St-Moritz is very beautiful, magnificient landscapes to see there. Once In Saint-Moritz at 13h10 we discover that we have only 1h20 there cause the train starts at 14h30 … where to get lunch ? what to choose : discover village or get lunch ? The guide took us to the center of the village to a crowded restaurant with a very long queue, in which you need more than 30mn to get a table, it is clear that time will not be enough. There were no other solutions to get lunch other restaurants was very expensive (so better take its own food with you, sandwiches, from the beginning). At the end, we lost time looking where to get lunch, for no results, and could not see the village. The tour company clearly could manage this in a better way. The Bernina train started around 14h45, the wagon allowed to us was no panoramic-roof, instead of the front wagon of the train, so it is less pratical to take pictures of landscape. Landscapes are gorgeous here too, but we reached the most famous spot of the bernina tour (the bridge loop) with very few sunlight and could not appreciate as well as in day time. After we get off the train at 17h15, the tour guide moved very quickly to the coach and lost behind her 5 people of the group (you have to cross an underground corridor, no indication, not obvious to find your way if you are alone), several clients with us founded that she wasn’t actually welcoming or efficient in the tour management. We reached Milano at 20h, a lot of traffic on the road on way back to Milano.
I looked over the reviews. Indeed, the details of the trip CLEARLY stated the train is from Tirano to St. Moritz. Not St. Moritz to Tirano. Tirano to St. Moritz means taking the train FROM Tirano, and arriving to St. Moritz BY TRAIN. ANY other situation is a LIE, which we received no explanation for. Maybe there were factors and reasons, but GIVE US AN EXPLANATION! Ideally BEFORE the trip takes place, so we can chose to continue or not. You offer a clear description. It doesn't matter why we want it in this order, why we want it to be respected and us to be respected as people. Maybe we just like going up in a train. We purchased the trip FOR THIS ROUTE. This order was specified multiple times in the product description (in the Summary, Itinerary, Highlights, and Full Description). Not A and B, but from A to B. So it's not like we go visit A and B and C and it doesn't matter which order, it's about the train route, which is a point in itself and should not be subject to change, especially without EXPLAINING and EMPHASIZING WHY THE CHANGE HAS HAPPENED. And we purchased the guided tour in Tirano, not 30 minutes free-time. You are bluntly LYING in your replies. No one in the trip received any earphones. Your reply to this is like "the guide gives earphones bla bla". You mean we are lying? WE WERE THERE. WERE RECEIVED NO EARPHONES! ZERO! NADA! We could barely hear the guide in the train or anywhere outside the bus. STOP LYING! And make accurate descriptions. Another lie: The itinerary says "Bernina Express (panoramic train)". This is copy-pasted so you have no argument than to modify it and offer refunds. Actually and even in the Summary it says "Bernina red train", which is DIFFERENT and NOT Bernina Express. Personally I didn't care about advantages of the real express train, it's just that it's a LIE that matters, and we feel LIED and DECEIVED by the disrespect or lack of care from this uncivilized company. Just act like you're in the European Union, not in Africa.
Wonderful day and very well organised. Very long but worth it! Would have liked time in St Moritz instead of Lake Como but overall happy with the tour
