Lake Como, Swiss Alps And Bernina Red Train From Milan

This company never showed up at the meeting point in Milan. I had a short stay in Milan and wanted to use my time to see the Alps and they canceled on me and never contacted in advance to state that. The company stated that they couldn’t get ahold of me which is not true as I have never received any messages or email non from them or form. Viator. In fact I have called them and text to see where the bus was and I had the other tour bus driver from the same company to call them and there wasn’t any answers. This company is irresponsible with a poor communication. They literally ruined my experience in Milan. DO NOT BOOK a with them. I actually saw another review warning people to avoid this company but because the train was combined with Lake Como I went with them. At the end I missed the opportunity to visit ST.-Mortiz and experience Bernina train and see the Alps. If you want to save money, time and have a good time in Milan and actually get on planned trips don’t book with them.

Very disappointed that the Lake Como section was cancelled by the operator at short notice, leaving no option in my itinerary to find an alternative option. The Bernina Train and the Alps were great, but Lake Como was an important part of my trip so missed out on the opportunity to visit.

Returned back to our hotel following a full day on the coach train to St Maritz. The scenery was stunning, however it seems the group size is too big for the staff to manage. There was mass confusion initially with staff unsure which coach to put us on. Then the train was rammes full. Everyone fighting for the best seats. We were crammed in to a a four seating area with two on one side and two in the other, face to face. It was too close for comfort and I didnt want to move to take photos due to the lack of space. This company wants to maximise profits and disregard customer satisfaction as a result. £120 is not worth this experience.

Wonderful experience. The Alps are stunning and St. Moritz was incredible. Our tour guide was great and informative. Sit on the sunny side of the train for the best views.

Alejandro was informative, attentive to the needs of tour members & funny! Fabrizio, bus driver, did an amazing job of maneuvering the bus around very twisty roads!

Shorten time to get to train as that is best part. Long day!! Let people know if have motion sickness to prepare.

Our guide Mia was very knowledgeable about the Lake Como and Bernina train areas. Enjoyed learning about the beautiful area, it's history, and good tips for enjoying meals in the areas. Loved the trip and high recommend it. Also wonderful bus driver in this mountainous area.

I had a tour booked for the Bernina Express. Our plane was delayed by 42 hours so we couldn't make it and asked to move the days. They did but it was on some other train and not our VIP. Okay - I can accept that. BUT - the tour guide barely explained anything throughout our trip AND then once on the train kept telling people to stand and take photos. The issue with that was people were blocking the view of those of us on the other side. He never once said - "get your pics and sit back down so others can see" - the result was that IF you happened to sit on the left side of the train, you missed almost every major site. I was literally in tears b/c this was what I looked forward to most on our trip. In addition - the tour guide was trying to take a photo of a couple and stepped into our seat area blocking my view and photo attempt of one of only two sites on our side of the train. I was flabbergasted. He stood between me and my boyfriend and blocked us from seeing. It was a terrible experience. I did enjoy the few stops we made - St. Moritz was so neat. But the train experience was awful.

Amazing day! Excellent drivers, excellent tour guides and wonderful sites visited. Ten out of Ten! Train through the Alps was absolutely beautiful! Claire on the Lake Como part was so knowledgeable, friendly and adorable.

Clair was amazing. She is so informative and kind. We enjoyed it fully. She also took our pictures and gave recommendations for nice local restaurants and food

Our trip on the Bernina Express followed by a visit to Lake Como was truly unforgettable, an experience I’d recommend to anyone seeking natural beauty, comfort, and a touch of magic. The Bernina Train itself was a marvel. From the moment we boarded, we were captivated by panoramic windows showcasing the most spectacular views of the Swiss Alps. Snow-capped peaks, turquoise glaciers, and charming alpine villages seemed to glide by like scenes from a dream. The ride was incredibly smooth, and the staff was kind, helpful, and informative without being overbearing. We especially loved the descent into Italy, each turn brought new vistas more beautiful than the last. After the train, we made our way to Lake Como, which felt like stepping into a postcard. The contrast from alpine scenery to shimmering lake views was stunning. The lakeside towns, like Varenna and Bellagio, were peaceful, romantic, and full of character. We enjoyed slow walks along the water, delicious Italian food, and breathtaking sunset views over the lake. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, perfect for couples or solo travelers alike. Combining these two destinations made for a perfect balance of adventure and serenity. This journey will stay with us forever, and we can’t wait to return.

The landscape was amazing, the lakes and the mountains were unreal. The train was very fun too. And the guide Ornella was very kind and explained all the important facts of each place during the tour, it vas very good.

It was amazing overall, great experience with a beautiful view. I would definitely recommend and will be booking again for my future trips.

Train ride was amazing. It was worth it. The down fall was the bus ride. 20 minutes in it was good A/C was on and it was comfortable. After that it went down hill. The driver turned the A/C down and then off and myself and others had beads of sweat rolling down our face. We told the tour guide and driver and it was turned into low and it was not enough. Fast forward to the ride back and the A/C didn’t work and the fan was on low and it was a miserable 3 hour ride back to Milan. Another issue was adults not being adults and coming back at the prescribed time.

Great for mindless experience in the sense that you only have to worry about bringing food with you. Yo don’t have to worry about transportation and train logistics from Milán. My tour guide was great! Although we didn’t go to Lake Como, the agency did a great job communicating updates and providing alternative options. We headed out from the plaza to Triana to take the Bernina we did a stop to get breakfast and use the restrooms. And we also got the chance to Walt around the train station before getting in to the Bernina, there are lots of cafes and restaurants near and a supermarket in case you need to buy lunch or snacks to go. The views from the Bernina train are breathtaking and worth it but be aware that this tour only takes the train one way and returns in buss from Switzerland. However, be advise and do your own research in reference to St. Moritz. The St. Moritz town was closed in May, if you are looking forward to experiencing the town then May is not the time to go. To me the views from the train were worth the trip anyways. There were less than a handful of stores open. The chocolate shop near the train station is open all year round so you at least can do that. The buss ride was nice too, we had nice views from the countryside. We didn’t make a stop on the way back on the buss, but our tour guide did ask the group if we wanted to stop to use restrooms. Over all was a good experience! Recommended if you don’t feel like planning your own trip.

We went to St Moritz and Switzerland with Eleanora by coach and train. We had a brilliant time and found Eleanor to be quite knowledgeable. Would highly recommend…..definitely worth doing!!!

What a day..! The train trip on Bernina Express was breathtaking, the kids also liked it so much! We had some time to discover St. Mauritz and Tirano. Lake Como is a pearl, it was the last stop during the day. Our guide was an angel, she was so nice, helpful and flexible. Our driver was great too.

A well-organised trip that takes you to two countries in one day. The trip started with a spectacular sightseeing along Lake Como to arrive at St Moritz. From St. Moritz, we took the Bernina train, where we saw breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps. Words cannot describe the beauty. We were lucky as the Alps were still covered in snow. We arrived at Tirano, where we were given free time to look around and have lunch. Lastly, we made our way to Lake Como, the most amazing harbour I have ever seen. Didi was the best tour guide we could have asked for. She was knowledgeable about the areas we visited and very understanding.

Great itinerary provided by the tour agency. The guide was amazing and had insightful knowledge of the places we went. She was clear with instructions and supported those we needed her with additional help. The driver was also friendly and helpful. The van that we were in was clean and very comfortable. The name of the reservation is “Lake Como, Swiss Alps and Bernina Train. From Milan” but we didn’t go to Lake Como. When I bought the package I sent this message “: Hello good morning, how are you? I have this reservation for tomorrow but the description says Lecco train. I would like to confirm if this ticket will give me access to the Bernina Express and we will also pass by Lake Como, as these are the main points for me.” The answer I received: Yes, the ticket included access to Bernina Express, and there is a stopo in Lake Como. The description says that there may not be time in St Moritz, but not meeting the schedule is very complicated. I bought this package because I really wanted to go to these two points and I only went to one. And regarding Bernina, even though I asked, we used the regular train and not the Bernina Express. Apart from these points, the guide and the driver were very attentive and the landscapes are incredible

Firstly it’s a long 12hrs+ day, and you do know this when you book the trip. Secondly getting the bus outside centrale Milan they need to mark up the buses and the tour guides need to be at the corresponding bus for their passengers to make sure they are getting on the correct bus as it was a bit of a bum fight to as there are 4 or 5 buses waiting and 200+ people trying to get on the right bus. Thirdly it is a long day trip and on the way back from St. Moritz it’s over 3hrs back to Milan and no stops so it would be good if the buses have a toilet. The trip itself was well worth doing to see Como lake first and then on to stunning Switzerland to see st. Moritz. I guess if you have fantastic weather and not rain Como lake would have been stunning also but it was a rainy day so you cannot see much due to haze and fog on the water. However our tour Guide Lina gave a great guide of Como lake and all the famous houses and places of the famous owners who live here or what films were filmed here over the time. We spent about an hour in Como lake including the boat tour then on to the bus for the next stop St. Moritz. When we get in to Switzerland 🇨🇭 the scenic routes are stunning and you start to make your way up the mountains on long winding roads you are now in a white blanket of snow. Once you get off the bus we are take to the village of st. Moritz where you have about 2hours free time and then meet back to then get on the train to make your way back. The train is nice and again the scenery is stunning. Train trip is about 45mins. It’s then Back on the bus for the 3hrs trip back to Milano.

It was an excellent trip with TAO Travels and Guide Mara was superbly brilliant. It was a day long trip the Bernina line trip.

We had a great trip to St. Moritz...Alejandro was knowledgeable, fun, and a great leader for our large group. Highly recommend!

There were multiple issues with this trip 1) Taotravel company canceled this itinerary just a day before and offered an alternate itinerary without Lake Cuomo stopover or offered full refund. I took the alternate option because one can’t make different plans at the last minute. I heard from few others that this is their modus operandi, as they have 2 tours and if either is not full they cancel one and make everyone take the other option or get a refund. 2) On the train trip, we as a family of four were all forced to sit in different spots in individual seating. This is ok for folks traveling by themselves but is very hard when one has young kids and they have to sit with strangers. We requested some fellow passengers to accommodate but no one was helpful. The trip to St Moritz and Bernina train is a wonderful experience for anyone visiting Milan area. There are lot of travel companies to consider so this wouldn’t be a common issue for others.

Lovely trip though I was under the impression I was travelling on the Bernina Express not the Bernina Train. One family were 30 minutes late which meant we had less than an hour in St Moritz - quite disappointed as that and the Bernina Express were the main reasons for booking. Our 1st guide was ok though couldn’t really hear her but our driver Enzo was excellent negotiating the hairpin bends and getting us there safely. The second driver and guide who took us to Varenne in Lake Como were fantastic and we were very impressed with this leg of the tour.

Hands out one of the best trips we ever had and it was all thanks to our guide Chiara. She was wonderful! Always made sure to help us take pictures, find restrooms, order food etc.. She was so lively and hilarious! There was never a dull moment. I recommend this trip to anyone and if you get Chiara you are in for the best. Out of all the guided tours I took on this family trip, this was my favorite. The views were amazing! Paolo was our driver and was always on time and made sure we arrived where we had to at a timely manner. Overall I would give 10/10! Saludos from Mexico -Bryan and Maria 2/5/25

I enjoyed going to Lake Como and doing the walking tour. I did this activity in January, so it wasn’t overly crowded. Going on the Bernina train was absolutely gorgeous. We did not go on the Bernina express, which has bigger windows, but I love the fact that we could pull these windows open which mean for great pictures. Saint Moritz was pretty, but definitely not a highlight.

Amazing experience and amazing guides Paolo e Chaira! I strongly reccomend this tour. They take you to Lago di Como, walk around Lecco city. Then we took the Bernina Train to St. Moritz. The views are incredibles. We stay 1 and a half hour in St Moritz, and then we return in bus to Milano.

Everything was well arranged but, wish we had time to explore St.Moritz.We literally got out of the train in St.Moritz and boarded our mini van back to Milan.Our trip got postponed from 7:00 to 8:30.Our guide, Kiara, took good care of us and did a great job throughout.Would recommend this tour!

Wow what a fantastic day! We started off with an hour drive to Lacco/ Lake Como which is a beautiful little town and were given an hour to explore. Then off to Tirano where they have a gorgeous church with an interesting History. This is another beautiful town. We were given an hour to have lunch and explore. Then it was time to catch the train….Train left at 1:00 PM sharp. Immediately we are taken into beautiful landscapes and then through the Alps. I can’t describe how beautiful the ride is. We had a crystal clear day with blue skies. I’ve seen some negative reviews but I believe these must have occurred during rainy or foggy conditions. This ride is nothing short of spectacular! Everybody in our group loved it and were blown away. We ended up at St Moritz which is the most beautiful stop of all. Once again we were given an hour to shop and explore. This trip was one of the best excursions of my life. We absolutely loved it. Our tour guide Claudia was Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.. She provided great info throughout the day but also gave time to let it all sink in. Our driver Paolo deserves a lot of credit too. A true Pro. The three hour drive back to Milan is technical and challenging. We always felt safe. I highly recommend this tour. Yes it is a long day, but one that I will always remember fondly.
