Day Tour From Milan: Lake Como & Bellagio Cruise- Semi Private

Our guide Andre was wonderful! He met us at the Cadorna train station in Milan and we rode together up to Como as he shared many interesting facts about the region and what we could expect to see. On the lake, Andre showed his wide knowledge of the lake and the many stunning villas that line it. We stopped for a visit in the charming village of Bellagio where Andre had arranged a table for us for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the lake. Then we went on to the even more charming town of Varenna. Every point along the way of this tour was filled with interesting facts and history, along with stunning views along the lake and in the villages. We highly recommend this tour — and be sure to ask for Andre!

Francesco was an amazing tour guide! It was a very wet, rainy day in June, but he made adjustments to the tour to keep us active and seeing Bellagio and Varenna. He helped us buy much needed umbrellas and sweatshirts to keep warm and dry. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I was afraid of getting seasick on the ferries, but they were only 15-20 minutes long and I had no issues. This was a great tour and we can’t wait to return to Lake Como! On the train ride back to Milan, he made dinner reservations for us in Milan that evening. It was the best meal we had in Milan! He even walked us to the metro after the train and helped us get on the metro to our hotel. This tour company and guide were so organized and the best one we used our entire trip! Don’t hesitate to book with them.

Our guide, Emilio, was superb. This was an all-day affair, and he was charming and extremely knowledgeable about the environs and the history. He was good company - even for our teenage children (who are generally well-behaved) and had the stamina to go for about 8 hours all-in.

This was our first visit to Lake Como and Andrea, our guide, made it a fun and informative experience. The boat ride offers views of celebrity villas and a peek at life on the lake, while free time in stops like Bellagio leave plenty of time to wonder (and shop).

Sara was our guide . We had an amazing time . A little stressful at the meeting point in the station. But that was our only hiccup . The stops are fantastic , her recommendation for lunch amazing . Even took me to great shops . The entire day was great .

Unlike some other tour companies, Your Travel Diary will run their tours no matter how many people have signed up. This was listed as a small group tour and it was small, just my husband and myself. We spent the whole day with Emilio and he was wonderful. We did have some free time for lunch on our own in Bellagio, but otherwise he was with us all the time. I think we were perhaps supposed to have some free time in Varenna, but since he realized we weren't shoppers he took us on a walking tour of the town to some historic old churches. I think my only complaint is with Viator. The tour said that the tour would end back at the train station where we started which was near our hotel. All the tours I booked in Milan were supposed to start and stop near our hotel. We found out from Emilio in the morning that the tour was going to end at the other large train station in Milan. He went above and beyond and not only helped us buy our subway tickets to get back to the original station, but he went with us on the subway to make sure we got back to where Viator said the tour ended. This cost us money for the subway tickets, but also cost Emilio his own money by taking us all the way back there. We would have been happy if all he did was to help us buy the tickets, walk us to the correct subway train, and tell us which stop to get off, but he was awesome to go all the way with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Renzo. Due to train issues in Milan, Renzo had to go to plan B! He had us bye pass the Cardova Station and take the train from Central Station. This cost us 40 minutes. We made it to Como in time for the 10:00 boat. Renzo decided to wait for the noon boat because if the possibility of rain. We toured the beautiful town of Como. Had coffee and pizza before boarding our boat to Bellagio. Renzo explained the history of the lake and the area. He pointed out interesting sites along the lake. He walked with us in Bellagio giving us a tour before leaving us to explore on our own. Renzo explained the trains for our trip the next day through Central Station, which helped us immensely. Overall, the trip was great. I would recommend it.

Learning of the history of the Lake, the people and the various architecture. Probably could skip the extra time in Varenna and just get there in time to catch the train back to Milan. Bellagio more picturesque and more to see and do there

We had spent. a wonderful day with our personal guide Oleg. He was knowledgeable, patient and flexible as we traveled with three boys ranging from age 8 to 15. Exploring the towns of Bellagio and Varenna with Oleg and experiencing the clear waters of Lake Como was amazing.

This guided tour had just the right amount of guided time and alone time. We wanted the experience of taking the train and ferries, but needed the assurance of someone else figuring out the timing for each. Our guide was knowledgable, calm, friendly, well-experienced to the point of knowing exactly where to stand for the train door before the train even arrived. The weather was not the most ideal for a summer day, but we still got some great photos! I highly recommend this tour.

Truly one of the best guides I’ve ever gone on a tour with, his stories and passion really brought Lake Como to life. The set up of the tour was great, the timing and the locations chosen and modes of transportation all made sense, I had hoped to see other villas but they ended being under construction which I wouldn’t have known until it was too late if I did this on my own. Worth every cent for the experience, expertise, local knowledge, and the peace of mind. Lots of flexibility and time for private wandering and shopping and eating, and not too early a start or late a return. Highly recommend!

The 2+ hour ferry ride was interesting. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful old villas and area scenery. Our guide, Beatrice (I think that is correct) was informative and allowed us to spend time at stops along the way as we wanted. Her English was excellent!

Great tour! Only one other couple. Guide was knowledgeable and pointed out out the sites. The tour gave us time to shop in Bellagio and the cruise down Lake Como was beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend this tour.
