Express first class train ride from Milan to Lake Como (Como City)
Como City. Take a walk in Como City with your guide and stop by the Duomo of Como. Como has a long history dated back even before Roman empire, was ruled by multiple Italian, German and Austrian emperors due to its strategic location. Admire the Duomo of Como, the last Gothic Duomo built in Italy and the most important religious site of the city. After that, you will join a stunning boat cruise along the lake that will start in Como City.

Admire the Alps, film locations & celebrity villas during the lake boat cruise. Start the lake boat cruise from Como City. Firstly, you will be able to admire Villa Olmo and Villa D'Este. Villa Olmo was constructed after Villa d’Este in 18th century with neoclassic design. Its beauty is complemented with extensive and elegant lake front symmetric gardens, sculptures, fountains and immense English garden in the back.
After Villa Olmo, you will pass near Cernobbio and Villa D'Este, a 15th-century villa, originally called Villa del Garovo. It is a Renaissance patrician residence & a park of approximately 100,000 square meters. Villa D'Este was converted into a luxury hotel for the royal people in 1873 and since then kept the name Villa d'Este because of the apparent connection with the famous Villa d'Este in Tivoli in Rome. In 1925 the famous director Alfred Hitchcock made his movie The Pleasure Garden in this location. In June 2009, it was selected as the best hotel in the world by the Forbes magazine.

Admire Torno, one of the most charming villages of Lake Como. It hosts Villa Pliniana, which took its name from Pliny the Elder, who was originally in Como. He wrote the encyclopedic ''Naturalis Historia'' (Natural History), which became an editorial model for the future encyclopedias.
Used as a location for the movie ''Ocean 12'' with Brad Pitt, George Clooney & Julia Roberts, this famous villa was originally built in late 19th century by Luigi Erba, brother of the prominent Italian businessman Carlo Erba (founder of the Erba pharmaceutical company), to express his grandiosity.
Villa Carlotta is an important villa and a botanical garden in Tremezzo town on the left shore of Lake Como. Today the villa is also a museum, whose collection includes works by various sculptors. The villa was built in the late-seventeenth century by Marquis Giorgio Clerici of Milan.
James Bond Casino Royale & Star Wars film location. Villa del Balbianello is one of the most famous villas of Lake Como and is also an important film location, where such movies as James Bond Casino Royale & Star Wars were filmed. This villa is particularly famous for its elaborate terraced gardens.

It was a beautiful venue and our guide was great! We met some interesting people on the trip. We also got time for an amazing lunch.
It becomes a long day. Going to get your steps, but boat rides and trains were first class. Not interactive, but views are rewarding.
Mr. ALESSANDRO did an excellent job as our guide. The trip logistics were well planned and executed. We used the metro, trains and boats for our trip. And the tour was very informative.

On the 20/10/26 my daughter Louise and I joined one of your beautiful trips on Lake Como. The whole day was everything we hoped for and much more. The organisation was second to none and we would highly recommend this trip to anybody who is contemplating doing it whilst in Italy. I can not finish this review off without mentioning our guide Salvatore who was absolutely brilliant. He took us through the history of the lake as we travelled along and it absolutely made the day complete. We thank him too for taking a photo for us of us both in Varenna at the heart.Well done guys on what we have to say was a trip of a lifetime. This was a great tour. Our guide Salvatore was full of interesting information about the area and the sights we were seeing. On the train there he also gave us some insights to Italian history, food and culture - which was a nice bonus. We also got to skip the queue on a couple occasions, which was helpful. Be warned that if you complete all elements of the trip there is a quite a bit of walking, including steep sections in Bellagio and Varenna. But Salvatore took care of the less mobile members of the group by offering less strenuous options where possible. This particular tour is a bit more expensive than some, but we thought it was definitely worth the money.

Alessandro was a great guide - very aware of the group and needs. I was alone and felt included. He made sure we got the best seats and were first on boats. The group’s smaller size allowed me to meet others in the group easily.

I took the trip on a beautiful cool day of late October. The trip was through lake como with train and boat rides. Our guide Antonella was just great. She always made sure all her customers are comfortable and well informed throughout the trip. Ask for her if possible!!

The Lake Como boat tour is awesome! Alessandro knew the right spots to eat, the best places to sit on the boat for the best views and was super knowledgeable about the history of the area. He was super friendly and very patient when we asked questions. The only down side was not enough time to explore because of the ferry and train schedules. Belaggio and Varenna definitely need more time because it is so easy to get caught up in the beauty. I would highly recommend this tour.

The "first class" train tickets were not. We were crowded in a car that was packed in the aisles and included 2 strollers with babies, luggage, etc. Our guide was great but just don't expect an easy train ride.
The trip itself was seamless! As a small group we moved via train, boat and ferry with ease. This was all due to our guide Antonella! I would highly recommend your request her by name as she made this trip very memorable! Her English was perfect and all of her information was enlightening! She watched out for all of us and always made sure we were all together before we moved forward! I just can’t recommend this trip highly enough!!
Fabulous trip with Angela. We originally thought we could go to Como from Milan by ourselves but so glad we didn’t. Angela showed us so much that we wouldn’t have ever seen. We were first on the ferries with the best seats and she knew how to navigate the train home when everything was delayed. A huge thank you Angela.

This is a very long tour day. So before you sign up for it, realize it was about 12 hours start to finish! Other than the length the tour was great. Taking the train to see the country side and then the boat to see the sites from the lake was very interesting. Our tour guide did a great job keeping us all together and informed.
This is a great tour. Elma was a wonderful tour leader that led our small group from start to finish, giving expert commentary throughout. No waiting in queues, we travelled by train to Como, then a 2hr cruise on Lake Como to Bellagio, then across to Varenna, with free time to explore all villages and have a sit-down lunch. A long day (10 hrs) but relaxing & stress-free

Our guide Elma was excellent! She not only was extremely knowledgeable about all the towns and areas, she knew the owners and history of all the major villas along the lake! A chaotic rushed itinerary, especially riding the train backs to Milan, packed like sardines. Lake Como is beautiful but but maybe not worth my 11 hours.

Visiting Como was such a lovely day. We rode first class to Como, spent time there, then took a 2 hour boat ride to Bellagio, seeing famous villas and sites along the way. We had plenty of time to explore Bellagio before we then took the ferry to Varenna. Our guide, Elma, made the difference! Elma was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable about all of the places we visited. She truly watched over each of us to answer any questions, offer suggestions, and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. I wish every guide I ever have had and will have in the future was just like Elma. She is the best! This is a day in Italy that you don’t want to miss! It was worth every penny we paid!

Excellent combo of guide-led and free time. Those considering the tour should know there’s downtime (trains and boats) but there’s also a lot of walking throughout the day. It was great in my opinion, but maybe not for everyone.
