The room was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience could have been much better in terms of service. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly, and the check-in process was not as smooth as expected. I also found it disappointing that there was no full-length mirror in the room and that no complimentary drinking water was provided. While the cleanliness was satisfactory, I believe the hotel could significantly improve the guest experience by paying more attention to hospitality, room amenities, and the check-in process.
Beautiful, modern, and spotless hotel!
I had a wonderful stay at Uptown Palace Milan. The hotel felt newly renovated, modern, fresh, and exceptionally clean. My room was very comfortable, beautifully organized, and had a stylish, contemporary design.
The lobby was elegant, and the elevators and all the common areas felt new, clean, and well maintained. Everything had a modern and sophisticated feel.
Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay here again.
It’s a shame because on arrival the staff were lovely and professional, and the lobby area was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is also excellent and within walking distance of the centre. However, please don’t be fooled by the professional photos taken of the rooms and read all of the bad reviews because they were right.
Leading up the to the room, the carpet was old, dirty and covered in stains. The room has slight modern look but was worn down and had clearly not been renovated since the hotel first opened in 2011. Again the carpet in the room was extremely dirty and had multiple stains, one of the light bulbs had tissue paper stuffed into it and the state of the bathroom was appalling.
The shower was old and covered with mould, the sealant clearly needed to be replaced as the water would leak out of the shower and onto the floor. The taps were tarnished, scratched and rusty. Unfortunately one of our towels had old blood stains on them, which is extremely poor from a supposedly four star hotel.
The bed wasn’t even a true double just two separate mattresses pushed together, and we found lots of old hairs under the covers. The air conditioning never turns off so we were extremely cold during the night as it would it turn on automatically whenever we tried to turn it off.
When leaving they tried to charge us for our own items we put into the mini fridge.
Overall, if you don’t mind these things and if you’re going to be exploring Milan for majority of the day and you just need somewhere to sleep then go for it. Otherwise, avoid at all costs as the condition of the room we stayed in was abysmal.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the Duomo of Milan, the main squares, and many great shops, making it very convenient for exploring the city.
The room was comfortable, and we enjoyed very peaceful nights. One of the highlights was the beautiful terrace, which provided a lovely place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The service was also very good, and the staff were always helpful and welcoming.
My only suggestion would be to offer at least one complimentary bottle of water for guests, as this small gesture would make the experience even more enjoyable.
Other than that, everything was perfect, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milan.
Modern hotel with a fantastic view of the Duomo from the restaurant on the thirteenth floor. One needs to book a table well in advance. Especially on Fridays and weekends. Very friendly staff but room rates, prices for beverages and dinner are on the high end. Nevertheless, the location - 15 minutes walking distance to the Duomo - and the view from the thirteenth floor will cheer you up. There is a public parking garage five minutes walk away from the hotel. Great shops and restaurants are in the neighbourhood as well.
