My mother and I chose Hotel Pierre Milano hoping for better comfort and service after disappointing experiences at several four-star hotels in Italy. Unfortunately, our experience at this five-star hotel was even worse. The room was tiny, my mother did not even have a bedside table, and the shower was extremely cramped. Getting a second duvet with proper bedding took around 15 minutes of explanations and several trips back and forth. All I wanted was the same bedding arrangement as my mother’s. More concerningly, I ordered a Virgin Mary and explicitly confirmed that I did not want vodka. The staff repeated this back twice, yet still served me a drink containing vodka. I drank some and became extremely red, which is how I react to vodka. An explicit request for a non-alcoholic drink should be taken seriously. Room service was fairly quick and my beef fillet was good, but my mother’s €24 quail was exceptionally small, extremely dry and almost impossible to chew. The accompanying vegetables looked tired and unappetising. Breakfast was limited, repetitive and disappointing in quality. However, the breakfast waiters were genuinely lovely, friendly and efficient, and deserve credit. The worst part was the air conditioning. We slept poorly on both nights because the room was so hot. One night, reception told me they had adjusted it remotely to 18°C. When the temperature continued rising and I called again, the same staff member sounded annoyed and insisted that he had fixed it and I simply needed to wait. The room remained uncomfortably hot all night. Checkout made everything worse. My mother requested an invoice for her company, but staff refused and told us to contact our booking provider. When I explained that the other hotels on our trip had provided invoices and offered to show them, one staff member raised his voice and said: “I don’t care about your other invoices! Go and contact your booking provider!” Whatever the invoicing arrangements, there was no excuse for speaking to us that way. We also specifically requested a large taxi, a van, because we had five pieces of luggage. They called a small taxi instead, which could not accommodate us and our bags. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels. We do not expect perfection, but functioning air conditioning, correct drink orders and respectful service are basic expectations, not five-star luxuries. This stay fell far below those expectations, and we would not return.

This is the worst five-star hotel we have ever stayed at — it’s barely worth a three-star rating at most. We booked four executive twin rooms, yet three of our reservations were messed up. We were given three tiny standard king rooms of only 15 square metres instead. The hotel staff showed zero remorse over this huge mistake and treated us rudely and aggressively. The front desk claimed that whether we get twin beds is entirely up to their discretion, meaning our confirmed twin-bed booking on the reservation form counts for nothing. When we asked why three of our executive rooms had been downgraded to basic standard rooms, their excuse was that the hotel was fully booked with no vacancies left. Such appalling service and terrible attitude are completely unacceptable. We later requested staff to come to our rooms to separate the joined beds, but their response was utterly outrageous. They said they were unable to help, telling us we either had to sort it out ourselves or wait until the next day. Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstances. You will have the worst experience of your entire life.
To start off with, there is just no way this is a 5 star hotel, at best it should be 3 stars. Whilst staff at the front are very nice, the rooms and facilities are pretty basic. We booked 2 junior suites, the rooms looked nothing like the website, they were dark and dingy and very rundown. When i asked why they did not resemble toe website I was told the hotel was full and this was all they had….. I looked at 3 rooms, all worse than the next! They offered me an apartment next door but it was dark and had no windows. This hotel is nothing like the website… choose something else in Milan!
Great hotel that’s in a great spot to explore the city. The service was spot on and the breakfast which was included was very good. All around a great place to stay and we would stay again
Excellent Stay – Warm Hospitality in a Perfect Location We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Pierre during our trip to Milan with my family. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by the incredibly kind and helpful staff. The hospitality was exceptional — everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The room was spotless and well-maintained, with excellent soundproofing that allowed us to relax peacefully after a busy day in the city. One of the best things about the hotel is its location — just steps away from both the metro and tram stations, making it very easy to get around Milan. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the city. It truly felt like a home away from home, and we would gladly stay here again!
