I recently had one of the most frustrating experiences I've encountered as a business traveller, and I feel compelled to share it. My original reservation was cancelled due to a flight cancellation — entirely outside my control. I proactively called the hotel to explain the situation and cancelled the booking myself, when I could have simply not shown up and the financial outcome for the hotel would have been identical. I chose to act in good faith. That was a mistake. After finding a last-minute flight, I rebooked directly through the hotel's website and stayed there that same night. The hotel had two reservations under my name, my email, and the same date in their system — and still charged me in full for both. When I raised the issue at check-in and subsequently in writing, I was passed between the hotel and the agency with no resolution. Their formal response acknowledged the full context but hid behind contractual technicalities to justify charging a loyal, communicative guest twice for the same room on the same night. I escalated formally and received no further reply. If you value hotels that treat guests as people rather than contracts, look elsewhere. There are plenty of options in Milan that understand what basic customer care means.

Very nice hotel with good breakfast, very kind staff members. Also very clean and quite close to the center of Milano. Even the pool and gym have been very nice. So clear recommendation for everyone.
The hotel itself was okay, but my experience with the reception staff was disappointing. The attitude at the front desk felt arrogant and not very friendly, which made communication uncomfortable at times. Another issue was that my room was cleaned even though I had the “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed on the door. I expected more respect for guest privacy. Overall, the stay was average, but the service and attention to guest requests could definitely be improved.
I stayed at the Grand Visconti Palace in Milan as a last-minute booking after spotting a discounted rate that was too good to ignore — and it ended up being such a great find. I was coming back from a road trip along the Amalfi Coast and wanted somewhere close to QC Termemilano, which is within easy walking distance (around 10 minutes), so the location worked perfectly. From the moment you walk in, the hotel feels incredibly elegant. The grand piano, marble flooring, dark wood interiors and velvet curtains all give it a really classic, luxurious feel without being over the top. There actually seemed to be a private event taking place for the designer brand Dsquared2 while I was there, which says a lot about the standard of the hotel — and you can completely see why they chose it. The room itself was just as well presented — clean, comfortable, and had everything you’d need for a stay. I was so tired from travelling that I didn’t even take photos, which I’m now slightly regretting. One thing I’ll never forget though is the scent in the foyer. As soon as you walk in, there’s this amazing fragrance — I still don’t know what it was, but it honestly made the whole place feel even more special. I only stayed for one night, so I didn’t get to fully experience everything the hotel has to offer, which is a shame. It’s one of those places I’d definitely return to if I’m back in Milan — such a good find, especially for the price.
Beautiful old hotel, decent location. The staff are excellent. ESPECIALLY Bernie...every hotel in the world should have someone like this gentleman. Extremely warm, professional and gave excellent tips and his personal recommendations where to go and what to eat etc. I felt he genuinely cares for the guests and wants you to enjoy his Milano. The hotel is beautifully clean and smell fantastic. My only issue is I found the beds quite hard and pillows not plump enough. TV could do with an upgrade..but everything else is good. It would be nice if they had a proper espresso bar inside...I notice the breakfast was the push button automatic machines and saw nothing in the lobby bar. In any case its a good stay.
