We thoroughly enjoyed it. I am a native Detroiter. I learned some things I didn’t know. I brought visitors from Canada and the UK. It would be good to slow down when presenting. Also, don’t wear a New York cap when doing a Detroiter tour.

Great first time introduction to Detroit! Kacie guided us through downtown’s most historic sights and significant architectural landmarks while ensuring we saw Detroit’s hidden gems. She was an expert on each point of interest while entertaining our group’s curiosities along the way.
Thank you, Kashem, for a wonderful tour of downtown Detroit. The tour was informative and interesting!
We loved our time with Kacie! She is a terrific guide and Detroit is a very unique and interesting place! Great way to learn about Detroit history and architecture. 100% recommended.
It was a fun and informative time!
When i began looking for things to do around Detroit i was a bit reluctant to spend ~$100 on a tour. Per the description i thought "I can see all this on my own," but ended up purchasing the tour anyway. To my delight i can report that it was one of the best decisions made the whole trip. Kacie is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Detroit. She is energetic in a way that encourages group participation without being an annoying cheerleader. Her insights and background information weave many of the steps of the tour together into a tapestry of historic story blended into contemporary reality. Do not miss the chance to enhance your Detroit experience with this tour guided by Kacie! (She also can give you dinner and activity recommendations you'll enjoy)
Very cool way to see Detroit. Lots of history and architecture. Kacie was OUTSTANDING. She knows her stuff and tells great stories to bring the rich history of Detroit to life. If you want a great overview of the city and see a number of huge landmarks….this is the tour for you.
Excellent guide - so many facts and interesting information. ❤️ in spite of the weather, we had a great time.
Kacie our guide was well informed and enthusiastic. The tour was well paced. We learned so much about the history and architecture of Detroit. Wonderful experience!
For our first trip to Detroit, we wanted to know more about the city. We are so glad we signed on to a Tripadvisor tour with Kacie who took us on a historical walking tour. We learned so much that was more interesting than we expected. Kacie was excellent and knows her stuff. We highly recommend this tour as a way to know a lot of the inside stories and to see firsthand what makes Detroit what it is today.
Had a great tour with Kacie. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions.
Kacie was extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful, and able to answer questions with depth and understanding. This tour takes you to some super interesting spots! You learn about those specific spots and also about the whole history of Detroit. Along the way Kacie can recommend the best places for anything you're looking for. A great experience, fun and engaging, well worth the money, highly recommended.
Walking tour was great. Meet up spot was easy to find. The tour included most of the well known attractions in the city along with a few other highlights. The guide was knowledgeable in all aspects of the tour and communicated well throughtout the entire process. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Detroit or who wants to learn more about the history of the city's downtown or just to get a good feel of the city for their own knowledge.
You are able to see some beautiful buildings and learn key historical information. It is focused on more recent history (last 100 years). The tour takes you to the river and around the older part of Detroit’s business area.
This was a great tour. Our guide, Kacie, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We saw a lot of the arts and architecture in the Detroit area, as well as some of the history of the area. I would highly recommend this tour.
My husband and I were in Dearborn for the start of a tour and we arrived a day early so we could go into Detroit to see the City. We booked a walking tour with Kacie as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and shared so much of Detroit’s history and resurgence. Loved the tour and the City and this tour is a great way to see the City! Highly recommended!
Lovely guide, Kacie walked us thru downtown Detroit providing us with in depth knowledge of each building and the history of Detroit. At least a 2 mile walk in beautiful weather made for a wonderful day in Detroit. Thanks TripAdvisor for this memorable day!
Kinza gave me the best tour of Detroit anyone could ask for! She shared fascinating historical information along with some fun side stories that really brought the city to life. She also gave me some of the best restaurant recommendations around the city. There’s no doubt that Kinza gives the best tours in Detroit and will leave you feeling like you have a genuine understanding of just how awesome the city truly is!
A somewhat interesting tour, although the Guardian building (shown in the listing) is the only one that was particularly interesting. Guide was knowledgeable, and when she didn't know, said so (a couple times leading her to Google something for me). Total tour time was 90 minutes, so this was a particularly pricey tour compared to other walking tours I've done in other cities.
Our guide is very knowledge and friendly and actually did a very good job at handling people that were a "opinionated" - I give her a lot of credit !
Great history and enthusiasm. If possible, add one or two more interiors.
Was a great experience walking around Detroit and learning more about the city. Our tour guide was great and had a lot of interesting information about Detroit and the history of the city.
Kacie was wonderful! Very knowledgable and friendly! Great information about the city and history. Highly recommend!
Great experience. Enjoyed seeing all the renovated areas especially love that the old buildings with amazing artwork are being kept and not torn down. We learned a lot about the history of Detroit.
Very professional, knowledgeable and prompt guide! We booked this the day of the tour and were very happy with the overall experience. Learned a lot about the city and had a good time!
I only had one afternoon to explore downtown Detroit. Kacie was so knowledgeable and showed me so many things that I wouldn't have had on my own. She was great tour guide and well worth it. I recommended her to a friend who s taking the tour tomorrow.
Very informative, very personable guide. Easy to find meetup location and walking pace. Beautiful and historic buildings.
My family was born and raised not far from downtown, but left in the early 1980's. We were thrilled with the details this tour provided. I was especially surprised by how much information we got just from walking through the convention center. But the best part of the tour is going into the lobbies of the downtown buildings. We've been to cities all over the world and Detroit ranks right up there with its "Wow Factor." Our guide was well-informed and able to answer any questions we had.
Quick taste, and informative. However, a whole lot of downtown and a whole lot of history. I had no idea that Detroit had some art installations in public places.
Kacie was great! Very knowledgeable , friendly would recommend her to friends.
Kacie did a wonderful tour highlighting the interesting stories surrounding downtown Detroit. We toured a wide range of important statues, buildings, sculptures and plazas. My favorite was the Guardian Building. The tour was excellent. Well worth it. Thank you to Kacie for a great tour!
This is one of the best walking tours we’ve taken. Kacie is amazing and really packed an entertaining and educational history of the downtown area into two hours. Detroit is spread out, and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with tips on the other things in Detroit that we planned to see on other tours (Michigan Central Station, Belle Isle, Fisher Building) including amazing restaurants for our tastes. Her attentiveness and enthusiasm are off the charts!
We had a wonderful time touring Detroit! Kacie was amazing and was a great historian!
Very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic.
This was a unique tour, to be able to understand Detroit’s history. The Underground Railroad and the Indigenous people. It was great to see the beautiful sculpture of Joe Louis. The Guardian Building is fabulous!!! Have been before but always a treat. The tour ended at the Book Building a terrific architectural treat!!! Great way to end the tour with a lovely glass of wine in the lobby bar! Around the corner was a superb surprise, a French restaurant! Le Supreme.
Glad I decided to see Detroit this way
A wonderful overview of Detroit’s colorful past and trends for the future. A great mix of buildings and public art. I would highly recommend Kacey’s tour!
Kasie was great. She was very knowledgeable about Detroit . She did a good job showing us around thanks Kasie
This was our first trip to Detroit and we did this tour with Kasey right away. She was extremely informative and we really enjoyed our time with her. I highly recommend!
We had a very informative tour of Detroit by Kasey! She was amazing and we all enjoyed our time with her!
Kacie was very knowledgeable and welcoming. She knew the stories of every place and made the tour very fun.
Kacie was a very well informed and thorough guide. She expertly guided us through the downtown area and was able to answer our questions. I could tell that she was aware of the surroundings and made sure that we were in the shade when possible.
Our guide didn’t show up! Sent us a message at the exact time of our tour that he couldn’t make it! Such BS
Kacie was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I learned so much about Detroit and its history. She made some great recommendations for lunch as well. I would recommend this tour.
Our guide Kacie was very informative and we had a great time learning about the city. The walking pace was easy for all family members to keep up with the group.
Our guide, Casey, was articulate and detailed. There were a range of people from ages 30 to 68.(a total of four of us.) the pace was appropriate. We had a good time.
Totally worth the time and money. Detroit is an impressive city & the walking tour is a great way to see it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable.
This was a great tour - some architecture, some history, some feel for the “vibes” of the city. I highly recommend it to anyone - even long time Detroiters.
I feel like we had the opportunity to see a lot in a short time and understand the history well. Kacie is great.
The guide was excellent, and did her best to provide a good tour. However, the itinerary is outdated and seriously overpriced. The tour took about an hour, start to finish. Huntington Place has nothing to see beyond Joe Louis: most shops & restaurants are gone. Ditto RenCen: we didn't even walk to it because there is no reason to. Guardian Building access was nil because it was closed for setting up a gala event that evening. The "included" entry fees totalled zero. I was the only participant, so the guide wisely tailored it to my interests, which I appreciated. Please change your description of this tour. It is terribly misleading as written. I feel my payment should be refunded
