Update in response to the hotel’s comment: JUST TO BE CLEAR: The engineer Michael was helpful. He was the ONLY ONE who actually helped us by doing his job. At the expensive rate per night in Lansing, MI, I would expect better from the manager to accommodate us for the terrible inconvenience. At a Hilton property. Terrible service at this hotel. Aside from Michael, who attended to our room on the 8th floor AFTER THE SHOWER FLOODED THE ENTIRE BATHROOM FLOOR AND WALKWAY IN THE ROOM. ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES so the hotel can’t deny you reported it!!! Just tacky!!!! On Saturday morning, August 8th 2026 around 10:00 a.m., less than 1 hour before checkout, my brother was taking a shower and THE SHOWER DID NOT DRAIN AT ALL. When he got out there was soap all in the walkway and the carpet leading to the beds was soaked. This can turn into a mold issue real fast!!! We told a black woman at the front desk around this time so if you really want to know if it was truly reported, run the cameras back and you will see. We expressed our dissatisfaction and asked to speak to the manager for service recovery. She said the manager was not available and gave me a business card to contact Steve (not sure if this is the hotel or regional manager) who would be in Sunday. Well, we’re from out of town and did not get a chance to called back until today’s My husband called today and said they denied that the flooding was reported. Apparently the black woman working at the desk didn’t think it was necessary to put in the notes during our stay. Obviously, the manager doesn’t care either. Terrible customer service.

My friends wife had a medical issue while we were eating in the hotel restaurant and the staff was so helpful - The server Jordan literally went down the street to her grandmothers home to get a pair of crutches for my friend. Unreal. Way above and beyond. The restaurant manager was also very calm and helpful. In New England where we live - this level of regard for the guests is pretty not all that common. Great job and thank you.
Nice, stylish hotel in the heart of Lansing. We were satisfied with our room and appreciated the welcome and complimentary water and cookie upon arrival. We had breakfast in the morning which was tasty and inckuded both a dish and a small buffet. Would stay here again when in the area. Liked being near the Capitol building.
As a long time Diamond member, this is not the most desirable Doubletree I have stayed at. It has a lifeless vibe and feel as if the hotel is bleeding to death and struggling to stay open. The lobby is very welcoming and clean with a fresh welcoming smell. The front desk staff are great. The upper level suite I stayed in was nice, clean and had a very nice walk-in shower with very spacious bathroom and living area. The pool and fitness center seems to be out of service and the restaurant and breakfast is where things go south giving that vibe of the hotel struggling to stay afloat. The dinner menu needs a serious upgrade with more dinner choices. The fried shrimp I ordered was terrible. I ended up peeling off whatever the hell breading it was and just eating the shrimp. I had a sangria cocktail that was delicious. The breakfast is a let down and being attentive and on-time should be addressed. Most items on the buffet did not come out until 30 minutes after breakfast started. The server brought my check, but did not bother to remove dirty plates from the table or refill my water. So basically the hotel is nice just for a stay. Don't expect the restaurant or breakfast to be outstanding and don't expect a lively atmosphere that attracts guests.
Update on 08 June 2026: The hotel responded to my review and provided a credit for the $15 erroneous breakfast charge. I have therefore revised the rating to 4 stars. This was a great stay (3 nights) and I had no complaints until checkout (that's the reason for the 3-star review). The accommodations were great and the breakfast was of a decent quality and great value. As a Hilton Gold member, I am eligible for a $15 daily credit on food. It's a good thing I requested a copy of my folio. I noticed that I had been charged for one day's breakfast and no credit had been applied. When I pointed this out to the front desk associate, she said a refund of $15 would be provided. I left and a week later was disappointed to see that no $15 credit was refunded for the error. It is not a huge amount but causes one to wonder if this is just a sneaky trick to rake in a few extra bucks from unsuspecting guests. Please verify your bill before check-out.
