One of our highlights of our 2 week stay in CDMX. Luxury standard . Private pick up by a driver from our Airbnb . Transfer was easy . Canoe led tour for two. It can get very cold at this hour of the morning and we were even provided with blankets . Beautiful canals and sun rise . Particularly clear sky and the moon and Venus were both out . The organic farm was beautiful and well planned and maintained . Very beautiful . Our Guide was outstanding . Our guide had a degree in biology with a very real commitment to the preservation and ecology of this world heritage site. Very knowledgeable about the ecology , history and explanation of the chinampas. This hour of the morning we missed all the business that the canals become later in the day !!! We would do this tour again in a heartbeat !! Thank you .

Be prepared for a unique experience unlike any other in Mexico City. Our driver, Eduardo, was lovely-very knowledgeable, courteous and patient. The scenery on the kayak was very beautiful.
Great trip with knowledgeable and friendly guides. Very educational and informative about the history of the area.
Absolutely incredible experience and worth the effort to get up early for the sunrise! Our driver, Eduardo, communicated early and often on the transportation from our Airbnb and even arrived early right in front for pick up and was waiting for us at the end. Marcos, our tour guide, was passionate and knowledgeable and shared his love of the chinampas, the history and the people. Breakfast was the best meal I’ve had here so far and was served with love. We left with new friends and full hearts! Book it!
This was such an amazing tour. We loved learning about the history of Xochimilco and Mexico City. The fresh food was also great. Our tour guide Marco was very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend.
Great experience despite the very early start! Enchanting landscape as the sun rose. Picked up by Eduardo seemlessly. Would recommend.
This was a very memorable experience. Highly recommended. Marcos was the best tour guide. We canoed through the quiet canals and saw tons of birds including several great blue herons. Then when we arrived at the Chilampa, Marcos educated us on the history and importance of the area. We learned about how they run and maintain the organic garden. We ate a delicious meal prepared with the vegetables straight from the garden. It was a great morning and we can’t wait to bring our kids back!
Excellent adventure great staff and beautiful wildlife. Biologist was so knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this trip to anyone.
I loved all of the kind workers who made this experience great. Eduardo our driver was so kind and friendly. The kayak tour was a lot of fun, definitely would try going with my more experienced tour next time but great for beginners and introduction to xochimilco through the water.
One of the best experiences of this trip in Mexico city. Navigating Xochimilco canals is magical. And the information provided by the guide helped you to understand the landscape.
The tour was super fun, and Eduardo was a fantastic driver and helped ensure that we were the right place, and was right there when we returned. He was even so nice as to pay for a bottle of water when we didn’t have small change.
Excellent tour, a really great way to visit Xochimilco that is quieter, more intimate, and allows you to appreciate the natural environment. Great for wildlife and bird lovers. Would do again!
Excellent private tour! Saw birds, sunrise organic garden at chinampa. Very informative Highly recommend Marcos as a guide.
Xochimilco is such an amazingly beautiful place and I feel so lucky to have gone on this amazing tour. Marcos, our guide, shared so much information about the ecosystem and the history of the park, as well as about the Xochimilcas’ farming methods and how they have been adapted for modern practice on the farm we toured. I really can’t stop thinking and telling my friends about everything I learned. Seeing Xochimilco at sunrise and then again in daylight was lovely. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and shared with pleasant company. If you are interested in learning more about the history of Mexico City, if you love nature, this tour is for you. I feel I should have paid more!
Nothing like experiencing Xochilmilco at dawn, learning about the history and biodiversity, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Marcos was a phenomenal guide and Eduardo as our driver. Yes you have to wake up early but well worth it!
An enlightening, tranquil experience. Pick up was timely at 4:45 a.m. at our hotel in Roma Norte, with a timely arrival of 5:25 a.m. at the launch site in Xochimilco. It was surreal to see the scenery blanketed in fog and morning dew — as we made our way down the channels to where we would eventually have pretty salad with warm maiz bread — transform to brilliant colors upon sunrise. The guide (Marco) was knowledgeable and personable. Our driver, Eduardo, was a delight. He loves classic rock, as much as my husband. So we listened to Police, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, the Stones, etc. on the way to and from Xochimilco. He also knew all kinds of historical and cultural facts, providing smart commentary during the drive. Some tips: • In late February, it was chilly at the launch site and on the water. They provided blankets, but dress for what felt like the high 30s (Fahrenheit). • If you booked through Trip Advisor, expect a communication the evening before via the app for the name of your driver, vehicle info, and time of pickup. We screwed up our time, thinking 5:30 a.m. was the hotel pickup time and didn’t think to check for a communication the day before for the actual pickup time.
Xochimilco is a gem. Our driver Eduardo confirmed the trip with us the night before and picked us up at our hotel in Reforma. He is very friendly and speaks perfect English. The breakfast served before kayaking was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed a great workout and the amazing natural beauty. The Island of Dolls was a spooky surprise. Highly recommended. 🥰
Terrific experience! Absolutely loved getting to watch the sunrise over the farm. Marcos was an expert and knew so many fascinating facts about the area, the wildlife, and the history. They provided blankets which were clutch because we didn’t realize how cold it would be at sunrise—definitely pack extra layers! But we had an absolute blast. Delicious food, fun games, and gorgeous scenery. The birdwatching was incredible—so many native species! The pickup from our hotel was seamless and the whole team was amazingly communicative throughout. Highly recommend!
This was a great experience. The sunset was beautiful and getting a glimpse into the local ecosystem was amazing. The breakfast was delicious (best cherry tomatoes I've ever had!). The canoe ride was very serene and Marcus was very knowledgeable. Our driver was prompt, professional, and friendly. The whole operations strives for sustainability and conservation. It was very cool to see that they are also working on axolotl conservation!
This was one of our favorite experiences in Mexico City. Rise early to get to the Xochimilco canals to see wildlife, watch the sun come up, and enjoy a meal & hot coffee afterwards. The scenery is stunning. Wear layers. Plan to get wet from paddling. There are double & single kayaks. Bring gloves & a change of clothes. It’s worth the effort to see CDMX from a different angle. Our tour was completely in Spanish so be ready to exercise your listening & speaker skills or follow the crowd.
Superb experience in every way!!!! The driver was great, the canoe drive was like two totally different experiences, one before dawn, one in full daylight, and super informative, conducted by a biologist specializing in birds. The coffee and breakfast as dawn broke over the mountains was amazing. Can't recommend highly enough!
Really nice sunrise kayak for about 2 hours, then back for breakfast. Pickup around 4am, then meet with the group at Xochimilco to be taken to pick up canoes. Wrap up warm as it is very cold, and you’ll get splashed so think about what you wear. The kayaking tour is virtually all Spanish speaking although this was not too much of an issue
We had an AMAZING experience canoeing the canals, visiting the farm, and learning all about the history of Xochimilco. Highly recommend. If you are looking for a unique way to see an important part of Mexican History and skip the party boat I can’t recommend this tour higher. Marco is a gem.
Excellent experience from beginning to end! Enjoyed the pace of the excursion along with the views of the sunrise, wildlife and mountains/volcanoes!
Really wonderful way to experience xochimilco and to experience some serenity outdoors after the frenzy of Mexico City. Our guide, Paco, is a biologist and was super interesting and informative as we went through the canals. We learned so much about the chinampas. And breakfast was wonderful! Eduardo drove us to and from our hotel and was also super nice and helpful. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and educational morning.
