Our tour was excellent it was just for 2 people and our driver & tour guide Gerardo was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I appreciate that they allowed us to roam and freely check different places. He also helped us pick the best food spots, he offered to help us if it was busy but we didnt want to leave him alone and enjoyed very much his company. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to have a good time, good chats while driving we all enjoyed it 😀 and would definitely book again for a different excursion.

I went with friends fo Mexico city and found out about Tekpan Tours by recomendation from someone else. We booked a tour to Xochimilco and we had a great time. The transportation was on time and we had Mariana as our guide. She was amazing, very kind and passionate for her work and country. Xochimilco was very beautiful and fun. We also visited the neighborhood of Coyoacan. We had a fantastic day in Mexico city and will always recommend to travel with Tekpan tours and her guide Mariana.
Good communication leading up to the tour. Pickup at our accomadations. We did everything the tour described. Everything felt just the right pace. No weird sales pushes. Very good recommendations for food and shopping. Kept a good pulse on the kids (6, 8, and 10 years old) and was engaging with them. Stephy and Peppe were a great team.
A MUST DO!! Great way to experience the culture. Our tour guide was Gerardo a very kind and a great experienced, and he knew the history as well. The transportation was comfortable and fast. We love the tour. I highly recommend.
Awesome day spent on the boat in Xoximilco and Coyoacan. Boat tour was relaxing as that was the first part of the morning and not that many tourists were out yet. We appreciated going on the boat first. Coyoacan is a great town with lots of history. Learned a lot and then went to the market to get some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Gerardo was a great guide. He made the tour informative and fun. He is an awesome dude. Definitely recommend this tour for all groups and ages.
It was the best tour we took in Mexico City. Steph helped to coordinate the agenda and our tour guide Roberto has ample knowledge about history and culture of Mexico. We had a relaxed and fulfilled day. Thank you so much!
Frank was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. We learned a lot and really enjoyed our day. His car was comfortable and he is a good driver.
Very relaxing, have a drink, eat some corn, buy some jewelry or just chill, it’s whatever you want to do.
Francisco was an amazing guide! He was right on time to pick us up and shared an astounding amount of local knowledge with us. We enjoyed every stop and felt that there was a nice balance between the guided parts and the parts of the tour where we were left to wander/shop on our own. Francisco was amendable if we needed more time in one location and was always willing to answer our questions. He introduced us to some of the best coffee and churros we've ever had in Coyoacán! I definitely recommend doing this tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City!
Our tour with Ernesto was one of our favorite. He had so much insight into the history of the areas e visited but also guided us to try delicious food in the market. We cannot recommend Ernesto highly enough!
Ernesto did a wonderful job! He gave us a tour customized to us and even made a fruit tasting in the local market. We learned a lot and really enjoyed our time. Thank you Ernesto!
We had a great day! The university was really cool, xochimilco canals on a Monday morning were incredibly relaxing with a beer and some vendor corn and coyocan is beautiful. We loved the artisanal markets and having a private tour was wonderful, with an awesome guide!
Fabulous day trip from start to finish. Frank was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. He accommodated our needs and was easy company. Loved the boats. Would have liked longer. We payed extra for Mariachi and Frank advised on this. Which was welcome. Our only reason for not giving 5 is we had a silver student board with us who was trying to sell his jewellery. Whilst we appreciate his skill and him trying to earn some $$. We didn’t ask him to join us and wasn’t aware that’s what he was there for (we thought he was part of boat team). It detracted from how we wanted to enjoy the time and was awkward. Would have preferred to have been asked if this was ok. Highly recommend frank ans the day trip aside from that.
Gerrardo was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Shared so much history with us on our drives to both destinations. I couldn’t recommend the private boat through Xochimilco more!
Ernesto was a fantastic guide for my 11 year old daughter and I! He picked us up right on time in his clean and comfortable car. The trip to Xochimilco and the boat trip on the canals was not crowded and lovely. Ernesto’s historical knowledge was extensive, and kept us both asking more questions. Then we drove to Coyoacan and had a delightful food tasting extravaganza! First Ernesto took us to a fruit stand to try many wonderful and new local fruits. Then we got to try all the insects and spiders! We walked through a lovely market and got high quality souvenirs. He also found us the best churros in the city, and we visited a beautiful church as well. All this with lots of history sprinkled in. This trip is a must do in Mexico City and we highly recommend Ernesto!
Nice walking tour of oldest Mexican city neighborhood followed by ride to the boats in xomilico park . Our guide provided a good summary of history and legends for the day .
It was a nice mix of relaxing in the boat float and exploring the town. Reminder bring pesos. Nice knowledgeable tour guide that gave us space and made sure we had good options and got the history behind the spots
Our guide, Frank, was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared a lot of information about the sites that we visited, and about different aspects of Mexican cultures. Enjoyed the day very much.
We had a wonderful time visiting Xochimilco and Coyoacán. The boat ride was colorful and joyful, and Coyoacán had such a relaxing vibe. The guide showed us the best spots and shared interesting stories.
This tour was amazing! Xochimilco was full of life with boats and music, and Coyoacán was calm and charming. The guide helped us enjoy every moment and made it a very special day.
After doing a variety of group excursions, it was a true treat to book a full day private tour for 2 couples. Our guide, Maryana, picked us up in front of our airbnb in her clean, comfort, spacious van at 9 am and dropped us off in front of our airbnb around 6:30 pm after a fascinating and fun day. It’s impossible not to like Maryana immediately. Her petite frame packs a lot of energy, kindness, exuberance, and joy of sharing her deep knowledge of all things Mexico City. It’s easy to spend a day with Maryana. She drove us out to the University to talk about the murals and the educational system. We spent time in Coyoacan and enjoyed the canal ride. But a true highlight was an add on visit, at Maryana’s recommendation, to Museum Anahuacalli, where Diego Rivera stored so many national treasures (an extra 20 pesos because we are 60+). Maryana helped us understand the significance of this fascinating place along with all the other stops we made. We enjoyed a fun lunch in the market. While the canal boat ride might seem a bit touristy (and if you do the ride, you do want to do it with a knowledgeable guide so you don’t get ripped off), what we noticed were so many Mexican families out in the boats enjoying life and each other. The numerous mariachi bands added to the festive environment. A day learning about the culture of Mexico City with Maryana is a day well spent. Highly recommend.
We started with a relaxing boat ride through the colorful canals of Xochimilco, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Our guide, Steph shared interesting stories about the area’s history and culture, making the experience even more special. Afterward, we visited the charming neighborhood of Coyoacán, where we explored cobblestone streets, lively markets, and the famous Frida Kahlo Museum. The day was filled with culture, history, and beautiful sights. The tour was perfectly organized, and we had plenty of time to enjoy each stop.
The private tour in Xochimilco and Coyoacán was fantastic! We got to enjoy the peaceful boat ride in Xochimilco, surrounded by nature and vibrant boats. Afterward, our guide took us to Coyoacán, where we visited quaint cafes and local markets. The architecture in Coyoacán was stunning, and the atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for a quiet afternoon stroll.
What a great private tour of Xochimilco and Coyoacán! Floating through the beautiful canals of Xochimilco was so relaxing. We were able to bring our own food and enjoy a picnic on the boat. In Coyoacán, we walked through the famous Jardín Centenario, and the guide told us fascinating stories about the area's past. Such a fun and cultural experience!
Wow! We only had one full day in Mexico City and Franck made it spectacular. 20 years of experience he was a wealth of knowledge. Very personable, fantastic English for easy understanding and conversation. We got to see so much and have the best tostados I ever had, delicious coffee and churros. If there is some thing that you wanted to see or someplace that you wanted to go that wasn’t on the agenda he is happy to oblige and make changes I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Oh gosh, we so enjoyed our time with Mariana. She picked us up at the hotel and took us on a wonderful full day tour. We got to see beautiful Mexico, and learn about some of its history. She was accommodating to my dad, who is 77. We climed hills slowly, for his benefit, and still got the chance to see everything. She took me to a place that I had visited once during a spirit walk with sacred medicine. When we arrived there my breath was taken away, and I had tears. She saw me cry, was concerned as to why....so I told her that a beautiful sacred spirit medicine had brought me to this exact spot before. She appeared touched with my story, and made sure I had a wildflower picked from that spot to keep - it's still in-between my phone and it's case. I look forward to returning to Mexico someday soon, and even more to hiring Mariana again for another tour. The first one was perfect.
Gerardo was knowledgable and he truly cared about what he was teaching us and he took the best care of us we really appreciated him and our driver they were both amazing our driver even went as far as to help us exchanged pesos cause we left our passports in the Airbnb so he did it for us and that was so nice!! he didn't have to do that they made our bachelorette trip amazing so thanks guys!
Marianna was wonderful. She is knowledgeable about her work, thoughtful, kind, enthusiastic & entertaining. It was a treat. I highly recommend her. Thank you so much! Will be in touch when I visit CDMX again.
Very fun to see all the parties on the canals and get to know the interesting area. It was Holy Week, so lots of locals were on vacation and obviously having a great time.
Frank was a great guide! The Xochimilco experience would have been daunting without him and he made sure every step went smoothly. The reviews of Xochimilco are all over the place but we found it very enjoyable and not at all as touristy as some claimed. It’s fun to be surrounded by so many celebrations and the many opportunities for a spur-of-the moment experience with food or having mariachis come aboard. We would do it again for sure! And the walk through Couoacán was very interesting to see so many colonial buildings still in use!
This was a brilliant, worthwhile tour. We got to see the canals as well as lots of hidden parts of a district we would not otherwise have seen, all without any hassle as we had an excellent guide with his own transport.
We were very impressed with the enthusiasm and vast knowledge of our guide Gerardo, and learned and experienced a lot on this excursion to Xochimilco and Coyoacan. We were taken aback though by one man who sat with us in the boat during the whole Xochimilco outing, and revealed his true motives at the end, when he opened a briefcase full of jewelry and prevailed on us to buy something. Hence only four stars.
Great guide. Really friendly and a wealth of knowledge and information. If you're looking to get a bit of a sense for the culture and history of the area I strongly recommend this tour.
This is by far one of the best tours we have done. Our guide spoke amazing english, had a great sense of humour, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the areas we went to. We’ve done tours like this in the past in other countries where we’ve been taken to places and felt pressured to buy things, never once did this happen on this tour. We were asked if we wanted to go somewhere in particular for lunch, we were happy to take our guides recommendation and it was amazing food. He even pointed out some places nearby where we’re staying so we will probably try them out too! We loved every minute of it, can’t recommend this tour enough :)
This was a fantastic day. Very relaxing on the boat - Xochimilco. Amazing how they manage to move these boats , especially when it’s almost gridlock at points. Eric our guide was also great , went out of his way to show us the best of Mexican food in Coyoacán. Gave us lots of information. Let us walk around by ourselves when we wanted to. Can’t recommend Eric enough.
Our original guide had an illness in the family and we were assigned another. He was very knowledgeable and tired to tailor the trip to our needs. He was a very good conversationalist in the car and was frank and engaging in conversation
Hector was an incredible tour guide! We ended up spending most of the day with him and it was one of the best days of our trip. His knowledge of Mexican history and current culture made the experience that much more interesting. The 9 am pickup was great because it allowed us to beat the crowds at Xochimilco and have a quiet morning on the canals (note: this is what we wanted but some people may be looking for a more boisterous experience). The mural visit was a nice touch! We felt like we spent just the right amount of time there. We had delicious lunch (tacos/quesadillas/mole) at the market in Coyoacán and churros to follow — all very yummy! Hector was very generous with his time and we ended up spending an extra hour in the main square discussing many fascinating topics.
This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide, Frank, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and was totally accommodating to our plans for the day – great suggestions were offered all day. This was a great tour and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting CDMX!
It reminds me of Los Angeles free traffic jam. But this event was more relaxed and people were very happy relaxed enjoying their time on the water. It was really nice to people having fun dispite the boats bumming into each other’s. Make sure go there early like around 10 AM and will have time of your life. BIG party!!!!!!
Frank was an excellent guide filled with many interesting facts. We had a wonderful peaceful day enjoying the sites. I would recommend this tour.
Had the best time with Gerardo. He was very knowledgeable, personable and a pleasure to spend the day with.
Our fabulous guide took us on a wonderful boat ride amidst the cheerful and colorful boats serenaded by the mariachi. This was followed by a culturally emersive exploration of the Coayacan Market and art show. The local lunch was fabulous!
We enjoyed the tour guided by Monse & Luis. The tour is not great but Monse made a difference being our friendly guide. She brought us to the nicest place for Churros and also Tostadas. The itinerary for the tour was simple and straightforward. We started the tour at 9.30am and ended at around 5pm. Overall, the tour was great because of Monse. Xochimilco & Coyoacán are nice but not great like Teotihuacan Hot Air Balloon tour we had the previous day.
We had a fantastic experience with Ernesto. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and funny. While we did have an itinerary set in place, if we saw something that peaked our interest we would take a moment to go explore and learn. My wife and I had an amazing time.
We had a great time with Franck. The trip to Xochimilco was full of information about the different districts and learning about the history and culture of Mexico City. The boat ride was timed perfectly so that we didn't have to wait for a ride but there was plenty of energy on the water giving us an authentic experience. Our time in Coyoacan was relaxed and we enjoyed some delicious churros with plenty of time for checking out mulitple markets.
Great private tour, and Ernesto was a great guide, very knowledgeable... would definitely recommend.
A wonderful day overall. Went to a few tourist sites, including the library, Xochimilco, the local market and church in coayoacan. It’s a good choice for tourists who want to visit all those sites in one day efficiently, as we didn’t have much time. Our guide is very friendly and nice.
This seemed like a really cool idea but honestly I found it pretty tedious and annoying. Really not that visually interesting and the endless train of mariachi band boats playing music I don't care for and asking for money for it didn't help. A lot of people seem to like this and you may, but I didn't. I've checked it off my list and wouldn't do it again.
Very friendly guide with lot of knowledge. We had an amazing day and learned a lot! The private tour makes it very easy to change things, very flexible.
Marianna was excellent Such a pleasant guide full of knowledge and is not a stickler to the agenda. I’ll definitely be back ans refer my clients to her
