The tour of the pyramids was the highlight of our trip to CDMX. We went on New Year's Day and had no traffic. It was basically an Uber driver who picked us up and drove us there. We got there relatively quickly (40 minutes) and met with our guide who spoke English. I sometimes had a hard time understanding him, but he was very friendly and knowledgable. The pyramids are absolutely incredible. You should not miss them. Although you cannot climb up the Pyramid of the Sun, you can on the Pyramid of the Moon, and the view is amazing. Don't miss doing that! There are a lot of vendors between the two pyramids, but not really in an annoying way. I liked some of the items they were selling and bought a magnet that I really liked and seemed like good quality. After the tour, we were taken to a restaurant where we ordered and got served the best food on our trip. The tortilla soup was probably the best I've ever had and the mole was also fantastic. My family ordered various other things and everything was delicious. Definitely go with the tour that includes the lunch. I was so happy we did that instead of the cave lunch I originally wanted. Although it would have been cool to see the cave, I cannot imagine the food being better than what we were served on this tour. Also, the cook was a lovely woman who handmade everything herself. Great experience. Don't hesitate to book this tour!

This tour is amazing! The company did a great job and we had a grea ttime! Everything was well explain and on time
Ruben was an excellent guide and story teller. The pyramids are very impressive, and the history of the surrounding buildings was very interesting.
We and the best experience ever! Ruben was so knowledgeable and made the visit so special. We were transported in a private car that was clean and comfortable, we’re made the MOST amazing food after our tour, and had great conversations that we will remember forever! Thank you so much to everyone who made this experience what it was. Book this tour!!
The professionalism of the guide Ruben and the excellent food and welcome of the chefs at the restaurant
We were picked up at our hotel by Roberto, who was a terrific driver and knew how to avoid traffic. Ruben was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable enthusiastic, and friendly. I think Teotihuacan is an essential stop for anyone in the CDMX area. It's a beautiful and special place.
Highly recommend this tour! Rubeun was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the ruins were amazing. We did the tour with the food and it was delicious.
Our guide was alll the difference. It was a much better experience having this gentleman as our guide. Thank you for that, he is an asset to your company.
My girlfriend and I booked a 10:30 small group tour. Since we were the only ones during that time slot, we had a private car ride from Roberto to and from the pyramids, a wonderful private tour given by Ruben, and a private meal at a restaurant. We really enjoyed ourselves and having the entire tour to ourselves was a great surprise! Ruben was an excellent tour guide and he made our time at the pyramids very special. The food and cold beers after being in the sun was perfect, too. I think we would have liked to skip the tequila tasting and artesenal market and would have liked to shop at the markets in town, but we did learn quite a bit about the agave plant and obsidian.
Ruben was very passionate and knowledgeable about the ruins and their history. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the pulque he shared with us at the end of the tour. Highly recommend!
I would highly recommend this tour. Ruben is a very kind and knowledgeable guide. He was born in the area and is an incredible resource if you want to go deeper into Titihuacan history. I would not recommend coming here without a guide. There is minimal signage and you won't understand the significance of the architecture and preserved drawings unless you have the kind of context that someone like Ruben can provide. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and driven by private car to the site where we met our guide and joined a handful of participants. The tour concluded with a nice meal at a small family run restaurant. We really can't say enough about Ruben's hospitality and generosity as a host/guide. Aside from the tour being well organized his expertise was the highlight and we would recommend the tour for that reason.
My wife and I took this tour in Feb 2024. Seamless pick up experience - our driver was on time and was easy to find. Note that you drive out to a central base before going to Teotihucan - we met with another couple before going on the tour. Tour itself was fantastic - our guide (Reuben) was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Lunch afterwards was excellent and well worth the extra charge.
Great tour all around. Communication was fantastic, both via Viator and WhatsApp. They made sure to check our address the day before and reached out to confirm when Google maps didn’t look right. They also let us push our start back an hour the night before. Transportation was on time and comfortable with a cautious, comfortable driver. Our guide was also fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and had all sorts of books and pictures to reference as he gave the tour. This company is definitely worth booking with.
Great food, driver, and guide (Very Knowledgable, great if you actually want to learn history about the location).
Our guide grew up in the neighborhood, incredible to think the site was his playground when he was a kid :D At the start of the tour we asked if we could see the structure of the feathered snake and our kind guide changed the itinerary for us. Think it helped since we were early, we had the pick up at 7am. Which I can only recommend, we had a big tour with a lot of information. The site is amazing and Ruben is very knowledgeable and passionate. The food afterwards was delicious, specially the mole!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind. The ruins are remarkable, and having a beautiful meal in a nearby town made the experience unforgettable.
The price of our tour was a little on the high side compared to others but we enjoyed it. We opted to meet the group at a central point, instead an Uber driver picked us up and gave us a private ride to the pyramids, waited for us the entire time and then took us back to our Airbnb. Pretty sweet. Although he didn't speak English, he was quite pleasant. Upon arriving at a meeting point we waited a few minutes for our tour guide and others in our group. Our guide, Ruben, was very knowledgeable about the pyramids and their history. He was very kind and spent more time with us than we had expected. He brought along a book with photos and had lived his entire life in the area so he knew it well. That said, he had a great English vocabulary, but had a thick accent and at times was a little difficult to follow. The pyramids were amazing and really something to marvel at. After the pyramids we went to a very small, nearby, museum, which in my opinion we could have skipped. We went back to our original meeting point and had a delicious lunch that was made fresh to order and they were very accommodating with our special request. After that our private driver took us directly back to our hotel. The entire trip was from 8:20 to 3:40 again, more than we had expected.
Our tour guide, Rubin was very knowledgeable about the ancient people and culture of Teotihuacán. Choose the lunch option! We went back to Rubin’s family restaurant and had delicious Mexican food. I played guitar with Rubin and learned a few great songs. Was not expecting that!
The guide was knowledgeable and brought us to great areas. Private transport was a great advantage. The food was good though a limited vegetarian selection.
Ruben was highly knowledgeable and passionate about the history and archaeology of the site. It was very convenient to be picked up at our hotel and taken directly to Teotihuacán in a private car. Definitely recommend!
Our tour guide Ruben was great! So knowledgeable and accommodating. Ignacio our transporter was great also! The food was delicious at the end of the tour- I had the chorizo sopes 🤗
Pick up and transport on time and clean.. guide well informed and able to communicate clearly. Lunch was enjoyable
Driver got us to and from CDMX in a safe and timely manner. When we arrived at Teotichuacan restaurant (sparse, but a nice, clean mom and pop restaurant, not a touristy gross TGI Friday's type of trap). The owner immediatley asked if we had any dietary restrictions - thankfully not, but much appreciated. Driver and tour guide Ruben took us to ruins. A well, organized, detailed tour that went well over two hours. Afterwards we returned for lunch - a wide selection on the menu - I had the enchilladas with mole, my daughter the tostadas. Excelente! Yes, it was a bit pricey ($150 US per person), but so worth it - going on your own is not easy to navigate, so it was worth every penny!
Driver on time to pick us up at our destination from CDMX to Teotichucan. Excellent driver. Our tour guide Ruben met us at restaurant and we were driven to sites. Before our tour, the propreitess asked if we had any food allergies or dietary restrictions (which we do not, but nice to ask). Ruben gave an excellent, very detailed tour of the ruins, which went well over two hours. Afterwards we had lunch - this was not some touristy TGI Friday's touristy restaurant, the food was excellent! Enchilladas with mole were to die for! Back in CDMX by 4 pm. Yes it was a little pricey, but well worth it.
Mr. Ruben is an excellent tour guide. He grew up near the pyramids, and shared his stories about his grandparents' house. Love the pictures and maps he shared which helped us understand how the place used to look and how the people used to live back in that historical period.
Ruben is the best tour guide you could hope for. He is passionate about the subject, local to the area, and carries a satchel filled with charts, images, and books that answer any detailed questions you might have about this fascinating site. He's friendly, excited to share the great details, and eager to share what is clearly a wealth of knowledge accumulated over years of dedicated study. Teotihuacan itself is a must see, but without a knowledgeable guide like Ruben it would be a shadow of the experience you deserve. Furthermore, the food his family's restaurant provides at the end of the tour is delicious and hospitable.
Everything was wonderful about this tour. Our driver and guide were great. Our guide especially had such a great knowledge of the site and was interesting to learn from. The food at the end was also wonderful. We were with our son who lived in Puebla for a year and he takes good mole seriously, and he said the mole we were served for lunch was as excellent as any he's had.
We were picked up in a small sedan from our hotel at our desired time. Our driver did not speak English but our guide Ruben did and his English was good. Ruben’s knowledge of the sites was apparent and had wonderful maps and pictures to complement his guide. He also took us to vendors to purchase souvenirs within the tour grounds that seemed well priced (we purchased a quartz mask for $300 USD, and in Mexico City, we found similar ones between $275-$300). Ruben shared extensive details about art and the ruins, which at times seemed a bit much, but still was appreciated. The tour ended with a freshly prepared meal in a clean, well kept restaurant, however, we had to wait about 30 mins for the food. Best feedback I could give would be to take guests’ orders ahead of time so it could be better timed with the chef upon arrival. Even though the tour ended right on time, we faced 2.5 hours of traffic on the way back to Polanco due to construction and accidents - absolutely painful!
Absolutely stunning and the tour was amazing. Your guide was so informed and I learned so much! Got to climb a few ruins. I recommend this tour!
We paid for private transportation but it wasn’t private. Vehicle was old without AC. When we requested price adjustment Tour rep was very, very rude.
Great guide and wonderful authentic Mexican lunch. Please don’t force me to use more words to exit this screen.
What a great experience. The driver, your guide and the restaurant owner went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable!
My friend and I had a great trip with this tour group. We chose a private tour and they picked us up from our hotel. Ruben was a very learnèd tour guide, taking the right moments to pause and cover ground in a good amount of time. The authentic lunch afterwards was the cherry on the cake!
We loved this experience! Ruben was an amazing guide who answered all of our questions (and we had so many) he timed the experience just perfect so we were ready for the delicious meal his family made for us.
Roberto was great! Very knowledgeable. His wife cooked our lunch at their restaurant. He was very prepared with pictures and maps for add’l explanation. A
The guide was very good (I will revise this if I recall his name, I know he was born in the area) and went out of his way to show us very old paintings that looked abstract and rather modern in the ruins of several residential buildings near the pyramids. This makes the whole trip more valuable and worth the time and expense.. There were 4 of us, with 2 from another group. The guide also gave us the chance to look at many kinds of souvenirs from a big shop in the area. I like how he explained the context of the structures particularly the pyramids. You need to be comfortable in taking these tours so it makes sense to have a car, driver plus an able guide like the one who was with us. Very memorable trip. I like to come back and know much more, especially when the museum is open again and when they allow visitors to go up the steps of the pyramids.
Ruben is a very knowledgeable tour guide. He showed all the places and explained their significance. His wife and he are very good hosts and cooked delicious food for lunch.
It was an interesting and informative morning. Note that due to COVID (as of Sep 2021) you can't climb the pyramids, thought it it didn't take away for me personally. Ruben was my one on one tour guide and he was very knowledgeable of the area from experience living in it. I learned a lot and it was also just great conversation. Afterwards we went to a local restaurant run by his wife and himself for lunch. The meal was delicious and was really a nice end to the tour. I highly recommend this tour as a private tour with Ruben especially!
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They didn’t show up to pick us up after booking with them a month before our trip. They misunderstood a booking detail and instead of trying to make accommodate the mistake they tried to charge us the same price for only a portion of the trip. They were extremely unprofessional, wasted over 2 hours of our trip, and were a real disappointment. They didn’t even bother to pick up the phone when I or Trip Advisor called.
The driver was experienced and the ride was smooth. Our tour guide was also a history teacher and grew up locally, so his experience and knowledge was deep. He shared a lot of information in a few hours. We really got a sense of the place and its history across the centuries. A lot of great views - this was our first time visiting and a lifelong dream to see pyramids in person. It would have been nice to know what wasn't open due to the pandemic. We would have still gone but would not have gotten our hopes up. The restaurant was great - we really liked the local food experience.
An amazing tour with Ruben. I booked a private tour and I'm happy I did. Ruben was informative and knowledgeable. He shared amazing facts about the culture of the people who built the pyramids. I was also pleasantly surprised by the onsite museum (a must see). The climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun was not easy but worth it. The views are amazing and puts in perpestive the size of the city. All in all I highly recommend a tour with Ruben.
A fantastic experience! My wife and I were picked up at our hotel in Polanco @ 8:30 in the morning. The drive to Teotihuacán was smooth with hardly any traffic. A great time to go. The driver picked up our private tour guide in San Sebastian in our way to the site. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, he spoke English well, he had good humor, and he made the trip great! This is a must see area for anyone traveling to Mexico City! The pyramids and the surrounding buildings are simply spectacular. This was a very advanced society. After the visit to Teotihuacán, which I can’t recommend enough, we got a free home cooked style lunch at our tour guides own restaurant in San Martin. His wife is the chef at the restaurant, a nice, small 4-5 table restaurant. Great people! Great food and good fun!
This was such a wonderful day! Aside from the beautiful weather and amazing sites, Galicia was an incredible tour guide! He has an incredible wealth of information about the history regarding this site and his enthusiasm was infectious! He would get very excited in describing the fascinating history of Teotihucacan and this made the experience even more memorable. He moved at a pace that was very comfortable and the meal provided at the restaurant was delicious. It was a day I will always remember!
Highly reccomend, quality information, great transportation and delicious lunch. I was picked up at 8:30am, taken to the pyramids and given a personalized tour full of historical details, and customized information. After the tour, we went to another local ruin to look at artwork and then a nearby restaurant owned by the same tour company. The Mole was amazing and it was well worth the total cost.
There is no better Teotihuacan experience. Galicia has all of the logistics figured out. Private car service from Mexico City. He knows how to show you all of the important sites at, and around, Teotihuacan. And best of all, he has a personal history in the region and interweaves stories into the tour. Wrapping up with a delicious meal at his family's restaurant is a great touch before the private drive back to CDMX.
This is a great way to experience the pyramids! Pickup and drop off from our hotel was easy. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and took us to parts of the ruins we wouldn't have seen on a larger tour. The lunch at their family restaurant was delicious and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a great experience at Teotihuacan!
The tour was very engaging and allowed us to see all we wanted to see. Our guide was very well informed and answered all our questions as well as helped us navigate the crowds. The food was authentic and delicious- the perfect way to cap off the tour!
Communication was wrong with driver not going where Viator email said to meet. Guide unprepared; no water provided, though promised. Little information provided I couldn’t read on sign. Guide struck up long personal conversation with one guest until asked the serving time to include the other three of us. Lunch not good. Expensive lesson.
The guide was very informative and professional. The tour was just enough but not too much walking. The lunch afterwards included was delicious!
Transportation was easy and convenient. Biggest issue was an inability to really understand our tour guide and also it took too long before eating. We didn’t eat until two which made everyone moody. Bring a snack!
