I was pretty disappointed with this tour. I had expected to see everything at Teotihuacán, but there’s not enough time. We had to run to do the bare minimum. Same with the Basilica. Another person we were talking with said that he had chosen to not have lunch. I see how that can be misinterpreted, but still, we had way too much time for lunch, which we agreed would have been better used seeing the archeological site. Plus, it was way late when we finally ate. I wish I had known about the shopping stop. I get supporting the local economy, but that wasn’t expected and it took way too much time, which I would have rather used visiting the sites. Other tourists I was chatting with, like me, don’t typically book tours and were highly educated, well travelled, and smart. We felt our intelligence insulted a bit. I’m sure this is a great choice for travelers who want to get a taste of what Teotihuacán and Guadalupe have to offer.

Very convenient pick up. Very informative. Really nice guide. You get to see many things. Recommended experience.
If you have no other way to get there this works. Teotihuacan and the Basilica are spectacular and well worth visiting . But we found being in a big bus with 44 oFfour new best friends wasn’t our cup of tea. Our guide was very nice and I give him high marks for taking care of everyone.
They won’t pick you up so you have to walk to a meeting point in our case about 20 minutes. They have 2 Vans full of people and one tour guide so the tour guide got in one and the other van we were completely lost. Even the tour guide did his best to explain both van the operator logistics was terrible.
If I could go back, I would have booked another tour to the pyramids only. This was far too long and not interesting. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the worst tour I've ever done. The problems, in order: 1) Late start. We left 30 minutes behind schedule. 2) The bus toilet was disgusting. Worth mentioning if you're considering a long day out. 3) Taller de Artesanías Finas el Sol (1h30). Complete waste of time. The place looks unfinished and sits in a rough area. The only decent moment was a 10-minute talk from a lady explaining one of the plants and the products made from it. That was the single highlight of the stop. 4) Teotihuacán (2h30). It could have been more interesting if we were not already tired after wasting the whole morning, so we gave up and explored on our own. 5) Lunch at Restaurante Huehueteotl. The worst food we had in all of Mexico. The beer wasn't even cold and came served with ice??? Classic tourist trap. 6) Basílica de Guadalupe: Rushed. I had to use AI on my phone to understand the history of the saint because no proper explanation was given. By this point half the bus had had enough and we gave up and got an Uber back. Bottom line: book a direct tour to the pyramids and skip this one. You'll save hours, eat better, and actually learn something.
Be patient waiting for the pick up. The tour is excellent. The first stop is a Cooperative of 5 families ...its a beautiful experience- enjoy the local presentation and shop at the store. Pyramid is great...Lunch restaurant is amazing...pasta ...Fajitas flaming !!!
Our tour to Teotihuacan and Basilica Guadalupe was everything we hoped for. Guide Edgar shared entertaining and informative narration along the way, and kept a big bus load of people organized in very busy surroundings. Before we got to the pyramids we stopped at an artisan centre, where we were shown rocks and minerals and plants from the area, and how they have been used through millennia for artistic, sacred, and practical uses. We also tasted pulque, tuna, and mescal. At the pyramids, our large group was divided in two and we were shown the pyramids and other features of the site by 2 local guides. Our guide Diego was knowledgeable and also organized, keeping track of about 20 of us at the huge site. The pyramids are truly astonishing. We are so glad that we saw them. Lunch in the cave was good, then we drove back to the city and finished our tour at The Basilica of Guadalupe. This is a powerful and wondrous place. Edgar told us about Juan Diego and the miracle of the Virgin Mary that is foundational to the story of the Catholic church in Mexico. We viewed the cloth with the miraculous image and saw the huge new basilica as well as the older one, and other churches on the site. The tour left us with lots to think about: the juxtaposition of ways of living so far back we can’t even be sure who the people were, to the way that humanity and sacred practice appears in today’s world. This tour is enjoyable, awe-inspiring and thought-provoking. Definitely recommended for anyone coming to Mexico City for more than a day or two.
Edger is a nice tour guide. He’s gentle and kind. Thanks for amazing trip.
Edgar was an amazing guide. Hilarious, nice and knows his history. I highly recommend him as your tour guide. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, especially Edgar and Lucy. However, it was very fast-paced and crowded at both locations, not suitable for mobility-challenged people.
Great offbeat but knowledgable guide. Very memorable tour. Could be a little more organized in terms of meet up points throughout the tour because the temples can be hectic.
The guide, Edgar, was fantastic. Took us through a whole day without missing a beat, clearly very knowledgeable about Mexican history and also very responsible for his group. He actively stayed in touch via whatsapp which made it easier to follow the group and reunite after going off by ourselves. The tour itself however, fell a bit short - although it tried to fit in as many things as possible, due to timing and traffic issues, we had to rush some visits and still ended the tour much later than anticipated. The restaurant break in between wasn't that great, and also did not have many vegetarian options. Still rating this 4/5 due to Edgar's patience and charm, and also overall price for the tour - although it fell short, it still attempted to cover quite a lot of ground, and I'd recommend it for those who are in CDMX for a short time and cannot visit all the spots on separate days.
The worst experience of all my tours with Viator. There was no communications about the plans for touring at the pirámides/ basilica
Good tour, temple was amazing and really enjoyed our visit to e basilica. Just didn't like the restaurant on the tour and struggled to understand our guide but despite this you could see her was knowledgeable and he was a relaxed personality which I liked.
There are 2 stops on the tour. One was for lunch. Cool spot underground. Lunch was good. The second stop was a learning session about rocks and tequila with a gift shop. That was 2 and a half hours out of the tour. Our stop at the pyramids was very short in comparison. The church tour was also short. The guide was not very good at english and the tour eventually stopped listening and split up.
Edgar was a great tour guide, friendly and informative. The weather was great and everyone in the group was friendly. The only drawback is we only got 1 hour and a half at Teotihuacan. I would have loved more time as the majority of this was spent in the museum.
We chose this trip because it had fabulous reviews! I am not sure how this could be rated fabulous! It was “ OK” Pick-up- One hour later than requested Guide- Not professional, talks too much but empty talk! However he was a nice person Bus- Not even water offered for a day long trip. But the driver was nice, we were safe I would expect the guide to be more professional with deep knowledge of the great history. Too touristic…
We had a lovely time with Edgar. He was personable and helpful. And despite some bumps due to traffic and other circumstances he handled it like a champ! It was a very relaxed experience. Thank you Edgar!
Edgar is a very helpful guide and enjoy a lot for this trip
This tour was truly amazing and tour guide Edgar was the best English-speaking tour guide ever!! He has lots of knowledge and funny jokes as well :) Also when they were being late due to traffic jam he constantly texted us and tried to update as much as he could. Over all it was the one of the best tour I’ve ever joined!!
Trip was great! Eduardo was a really good host and the other guides were fantastic as well. The price was extremely reasonable.
Had a fun day. Edgar our guide was engaging and informative. Would have liked to stay a bit longer at Teotihuacan as it is so vast but highly enjoyable all the same. Definitely recommend.
Eddie was our guide he was personable, funny and very courteous. I also appreciated his knowledge and caring demeanor. Excellent guide.
We had a fantastic time spending the day with Edgar. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and charismatic. Loved his jokes that kept us attentive. Can’t recommend enough. This was I first time using them but will definitely be returning!
Edgar Fer was excellent. Great sense of humor and very informative. I enjoyed his work and will definitely recommend him to family and friends.
What a great trip! I only regret. It was too short. I learned so much about this country and really appreciated the insightfulness of our guide, Eduardo. He was amazing and spoke so many languages.
Eddie was a wonderful guide on the bus.. he does a great job!!! We like him.
Tour was informational and made it easy to visit places without the extra hassles. Edgar was also a great guide.
The site is very extensive. Our guide recommended concentrating on 2 of the 3 pyramids, which advice I should have followed. Unless you are a fast runner there isn't enough time on this tour to properly appreciate all 3.
Terrible guide. We learned nothing... We were at the rear of the bus from wish you can see nothing..
Not enough time is spent at the pyramids. Too much time is spent with the artists and the gift shop.
We had a wonderful day exploring some of the most iconic tourist attractions in Mexico City and the surrounding areas. The Teotihuacan pyramids as the highlight of the tour were definitely worth visiting. Our tour guide Tony and driver Luigi, who was occupied for the first time, deserve special credit for taking good care of the group throughout the day. It was a long itinerary with several stops, yet they maintained a good atmosphere to the end of the day. If I were to suggest one improvement, I might skip the Tlatelolco stop for the sake of time, but aside from that, it was an exciting day full of new information and experiences. A special mention goes to the "cave restaurant" near the pyramid area. The food was absolutely delicious. Overall, this tour is a good choice for solo travelers.
This is a horrible tour with very bad logistics, I would avoid and use that $40 towards a better established company tour. They run two vans, in total like 20+ people all going to the same stops. Van is small and cramped, windows are small, and there's a slim chance you'll sit with your group if you're not the first hotel stop. The guided tour itself was lacking. We initially had one guide who was removed and replaced another guy due to their accent (apparently the driver complained?), but the new one wasn't that much better... very long-winded explanations and not very good at giving interesting facts about the place or answering questions. The first stop was on the side of the road with 20+ people trying to hear one guide speak both English and Spanish over the city traffic. No one could hear a thing, and almost 95% of the audience was zoned out. Why this stop was like 30 minutes, I don't know. The artisan house is a stupid stop dedicated to tricking tourists lol. They literally stop in a random dirt parking lot, make you watch some one-man presentation about ROCKS, and then force you into a tiny room where a bunch of employees pressure you to buy things. If you're naive (cough, dumb) enough to buy at the store, enjoy the feeling of getting scammed once you go to the pyramids RIGHT after and see that the vendors are sending the same stuff for 1/4 the price lol. Don't be tricked about the advertised tasting, they give you a small shot of 3 types of their choosing, and it lasts for maybe 5 minutes at most. There were no time for questions. The lunch. I did not care for the cave lunch-- I specifically chose this tour because it was supposed to be a typical Mexican restaurant-- and yet they chose to take this big group to the cave (presumably to make more money). The food at La Cueva was cold, unimpressive, and marked up in price. The waiter brought out the wrong food for ALL four people at our table (of course they were more expensive dishes, and of course the waiter said they don't have enough time to remake it). Waiting for everyone to finish lunch took forever, and we were literally over the estimated tour time (8.5 hrs) when we got back to the van and still had another stop to go. Ridiculous. The final stop at the basilica was short and chaotic, and the tour did not deliver as promised. The stop was not 1.5 hours as advertised and we did not get to climb the Tepeyac hill. We got virtually zero information about the significance of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The stop was just a waste of time and energy altogether. Lasted at most 30 minutes. The tour ended at 6pm. I couldn't make it to my dinner reservation. Would avoid like the plague (which you probably could catch from how tightly packed these vans were).
Our guide, Ed was very knowledgable about the history of all the places. He also had a great sense of humour and helped with the details
We loved the Teotihuacan tour! Our guide, Edgar, was fun, funny, and extremely knowledgeable, and we learned so much about the history and culture. The views were incredible too. Highly recommend!
Edgar was an absolute joy to have as a guide! He had a great sense of humor, and was very knowledgeable. We would recommend him and this tour to anyone!
Great combination of areas to visit in one day. Just wish the tour of the Cathedral had more of a walking tour involvement versus just to be dropped off and left to explore on own for 50 mins. Felt like we missed a lot of information about the area. The pyramids we had a walking tour guide with us the entire time.
Great tour lots of walking, the tour guide was very helpful and patient the place recommended for lunch was great
It was ok. There is too much time wasted in the bathroom/tourist traps stops. I wish half that time could have been spent in Teotihuacan or at lunch. The tour guide doesn’t go with you but explains things at the entry point of both the pyramids and the church and then you are left to room around and find things on your own.
Edgar was amazing guide, he made this tour fun and comfortable. I would recommend this tour to anybody coming to Mexico City.
Edgar was a great guide. He was wry knowledgeable and made a fun tour. He made sure that all of his passengers had a comfortable experience. I mistakenly took the wrong tour bus and Edgar called to make sure I was attending and assisted me in pick up at the next stop. Such great customer service .
For the price I paid, it was an ok experience. I would have liked the guide to explain some more things but he mostly left us to roam the site on our own
Amado was a really good guide , he knows a lot of History
Our tour guide was Edger and he did and awesome job of explaining everything. Loved the jokes! Also our driver Fernando was great as well! I would absolutely use this guide again
Our guide, Edgar, was professional and had a great sense of humor. We particularly appreciated that he sent us a message regarding the pickup location before the tour began. The transportation was comfortable, and Edgar was very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour and make sure you have Edgar as your guide!
It was worth with what you paid for. And our tour guide was great, Edgar!
This was worth! We had an amazing time seeing all the historic sites and learning about facts the whole way to the pyramids. Tequila tasting was just a plus! Thank you to our driver and our host for an amazing experience :) would do this tour again!!
It was a great tour. Went to the basilica and Teotihuacan. Our guide and driver Luis were amazing. It was the petfect half day tour.
It was fun, guide let us have free time to explore the pyramids. The pick up was easy and the driver Pedro was great! Javier is a great guide as well.
This was fairly educational. Occasionally a bit long winded. I wish we had more time in and around the pyramid area. 2 hours was not enough time to explore the area. Locals did not appear welcoming to non Hispanics. They only wanted your money for their wares. However some of the wares were very beautiful and intricate. Take the time to look. The tequila tasting and information at the store in town was great! I enjoyed learning from Lucila about the surrounding area, the local history, the various agave plants and the benefits from them. Thank you! Wear comfortable shoes and layers as weather was unpredictable.
