Such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the hospitality was outstanding. Hugo and Gabriel did an amazing job keeping everyone together, on schedule, and engaged throughout the day. Everything was thoughtfully planned and organized, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We especially loved the family atmosphere and learning about all the wonderful things their family is doing. You can truly feel the love, pride, and passion they put into this experience. Such a special way to experience Mexican culture and traditions. Highly recommend!

Itinerary
We’ll meet at Parque México at 7:30am and head toward Teotihuacan. But before we visit the pyramids, we have something special planned: breakfast at our grandmother’s home with our family!!
Welcome to our family home! We’ll sit down together for coffee, hot chocolate, tea, fresh fruit, eggs and traditional Mexican sweet bread. It’s how our family starts the day, and we’re happy to share it with you before we head to Teotihuacan!!
After breakfast, we’ll head to Teotihuacan and spend the morning exploring the ancient city together. We’ll walk along the Avenue of the Dead, climb the Pyramid of the Moon, and explore its temples and plazas. Depending on the day and site access, we may also visit the Temple of the Feathered Serpent or the Beatriz de la Fuente Museum of Teotihuacan Murals. As anthropologists, we’ll go beyond the pyramids and bring the ancient city to life through archaeology, history, anthropology, and the stories of the people who built and lived here!!
After exploring Teotihuacan, we’ll return to our grandmother’s home for one of the most special parts of our day: lunch. Our family’s red and green mole are made from recipes passed down through generations, and each one carries a little piece of our family’s history and traditions. We’ll serve them with other homemade Mexican dishes, just as we have enjoyed them at home for years. For us, sharing this food is a way of sharing a part of who we are and the Mexico we grew up with!!
After lunch, we’ll share a tradition that is deeply connected to our family and the region: pulque. We’ll taste natural pulque, pulque distilled on its own, and two local liqueurs made from distilled pulque with prickly pear and nopal. Everything is made locally, and our family is part of the cooperative behind these traditional drinks. We’ll share their history, how they are made, and why they are still part of our culture today!!
After a day filled with history, archaeology, family recipes and Mexican traditions, we’ll make our way back to Mexico City. We’ll return to Parque México around 3:00–3:30pm, hopefully with full hearts, full stomachs, and memories of a very special day in Mexico. We hope you leave with more than just photos of Teotihuacan—you’ll be taking home a little piece of our family and the Mexico we love!! ❤️

It was a full day and very informative. Really had a good time. It's a family run business and they know how to keep guests manager and entertained. The food was great and I tried new things I never tried before. Overall the whole thing went without a hitch. Recommended.
Knowledgeable, welcoming guides and a very well-planned day. Everything ran smoothly, communication was excellent all around, and we learned so much! Plus, the food and pulque was top notch.
We had a great experience with Hugo and Gabriel, and their whole family. They were so knowledgeable about Teotihuacan and were so wonderful! If we would have gone to the pyramids without them, we wouldn’t have learned anything! The food and the pulque were delicious. Highly recommend!
My husband and I had such a great experience with Hugo and Gabriel. The pyramids were very cool and Hugo was so knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had. Their grandma’s lunch was so delicious, best mole I have ever had. My husband doesn’t like mole and LOVED it! This tour was truly worth the value and both Hugo and Gabriel were very kind. There was a family who took longer at a stop and they took the rest of us back for lunch first to not cause a delay. Highly recommend!
This tour was the highlight of our 6 days in Mexico City! Gabriel was a wonderful guide - friendly, helpful, very knowledgeable. The food and setting for breakfast and lunch was fantastic. My only suggestion would be to limit the initial serving of enchiladas at lunch to one of each and let people request more if desired - they were delicious but it was way too much food and I hated to waste it!
Informational tour with the added bonus of authentic food and drink! A tour you can’t get anywhere else!
I loved my experience! It was worth every penny we paid and more. We didn’t have a car and didn’t want to be rushed, and all the other pyramid tours from Mexico City typically require longer time without a good solution for lunch. But Hugo and Gabriel thought it all out and put this family-run tour together that is as efficient, relaxing, and educational as this kind of pyramid tours can be. They drove two vehicles for all 18 of us, fed us, and answered our questions patiently and knowledgeably. Both Hugo and Gabriel are students of the history and so passionate about sharing their wealth of knowledge with others. They are the best tour guides I have ever had! Everything about this tour will be included in the costs you pay up front on this app. There are no traps for shopping or any sort that I heard other tours have. Highly Recommend!
Had a very special day with Gabriele and Hugo hosting the Teotihuacan pyramids. This was quite unique as i felt it was very personal and both guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about anthropology and the history of the area. But what sets this apart was going for a light breakfast and then a traditional lunch at their family home, cooked by the family. The food was very authentic and it was outstanding! There were no extra stops into souvenir shops and restaurants, this was the real deal. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you.
My Grandma's Food Tour and the pyramids was an unforgettable day with the local guides Gabriel and Hugo! Highly recommend these two for any tours, especially this one.
Super experience. Gabriel and Ugo are knowledgeable and their family is very welcoming! Our 9 year old daughter enjoyed the experience too.
Totally worth it. Hugo & Gabriel were great guides, they communicated all details ahead of time and had everything planned and timed well. Food & pulque tasting experience were awesome!
We had a great time on the tour. The guides are super knowledgeable. They really have a passion for anthropology and archaeology and that really came through how they were teaching us about the history of the pyramids. Lunch was out of this world. Some of the best we’ve ever had. Highly highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful guided trip with Gabriel and Hugo, They are very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and happy to answer any additional questions. We had already visited the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia earlier in the week, which was very helpful introduction. As a side note, they mentioned the movie “Museo”, based on the 1985 heist. We later watched the movie in the evening and it was interesting because of the many references to the museum, but it is fiction, not a documentary of the actual events. Gabriel and Hugo’s family was also very welcoming and accommodating in their home, where we were served breakfast and delicious lunch, homemade mole, followed by pulque tasting. We were with a group in a comfortable van and safe driver.
The wife and I took this tour this Christmas. It greatly exceed expectations. We were picked up at a convenient location and stopped at the family home. We were warmly greeted had Café de olla en pan dulce and proceeded to Teotihuacán. Our guide Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable and spend time with all of us in the group, answering questions, and providing context to what we were seeing the pyramids are, of course, an amazing place, but it was extremely helpful to have a guide to interpret what we were seeing, and understand context. After the tour we returned to the family home. We had a wonderful lunch with two different types of mole and sampled. Many different Pulques and again weren’t quite a bit about pulque and culture. We’ve loved meeting the family and felt extremely at home. My wife and I have traveled quite a bit. And this is one of the best tour experiences we’ve ever had. We both highly recommend this.
This was, without question, the most exceptional tour I’ve ever experienced. The guides’ depth of knowledge and passion for the region elevated the journey far beyond what we could have discovered on our own. The visit to the abuelos’ home for coffee and refreshments offered a warm, genuine glimpse into local life, while the later stop for mole and pulque — with the entire family participating — was a truly unforgettable highlight. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making this an extraordinary experience I would recommend to anyone.
This is the best thing we did in Mexico City (and we had done lots of great things). The guides, two brothers, are extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Visiting the family home with their delicious home-cooked meal and agave spirit tasting was a fabulous experience, like no other. This is a tour not to be missed.
We loved this tour with the brothers! They are passionate about sharing the Teotihuacán history and their own culture. We also loved meeting their parents and the meal cooked by their mother & grandmother was delicious. The pulque tasting was both interesting & tasty! The brothers are good drivers too (very welcome after many crazy Mexico City Uber drivers!).
I had a lovely time with Tung. I never rode a motorbike before and she made me feel confident. She is nice and polite. She loves her job and took me to different places and took lots of photos. Thanks again Tung.
We have just come back from this amazing tour! If you are looking for an informative, friendly experience, do not look any further! You start the day meeting in Condesa at the park and you will be picked up by very well cared for new vans. Hugo and Gabriel are a fantastic guides! We had Hugo doing the tour today and his archeological knowledge is second to none. He was also prepared with an iPad to show us amazing facts about everything we visited which really helped your understanding of the temples and the civilisation which used to live there. He was very caring in leading us to the best spots and some great advice to see the best of the sites. The tour is also a stop to his grandma ‘s house. And yes it is! We had a great breakfast in the way there wirh sweet bread fruits coffees hot chocolate and on your way back we also enjoyed a traditional meal of two types of Mole. We finally discovered also Pulque but also the distilled one which was served as tasters. This was an amazing tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. To another time soon. Muchas gracias
Truly wonderful tour. I can't say enough good things. Our guides were so knowledgeable, kind, and entertaining. The food was fantastic, everything was very clear and easy. We hope to come back again sometime!
This is an amazing way to experience the pyramid temples. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate guides give context to the historical site, and then invite you to their family home for the best molé you’ll ever have. The family runs the business together and their passion and pride is heartwarming.
Gabriel and his family are kind and very enterprising people. Excellent representatives of Mexico, you can tell they love their culture and what they do. The personal, warm treatment and the food embrace you. Thank you for such a special and well-organized experience.
