Great all around. It's a very small group. Mine was two tour guides and three guests, so I had a one-on-one tour. Tour guide very good at explaining, and the site is fascinating. Not good for people with weak legs.

Itinerary
The most important cultural landmark in Mexico, with stunning marble architecture and murals by Rivera, Siqueiros, and Orozco.
The legendary “City of the Gods,” an archaeological site full of grandeur and mystery.
A striking monument decorated with sculptures of the Feathered Serpent, symbol of Mesoamerican spirituality.
Unique structures showing how different generations built over previous ones, preserving the city’s evolution in stone.
The largest pyramid in Teotihuacán, offering panoramic views and a mystical atmosphere.
Located at the end of the Avenue of the Dead, it dominates the landscape and offers breathtaking views of the valley.
Near the Pyramid of the Moon, we’ll visit the Temple of Quetzalpapálotl, one of the most exquisitely decorated structures in Teotihuacán. This ceremonial complex, once reserved for elite priests or rulers, features stone columns carved with feathered butterflies—the temple’s namesake—and beautifully preserved murals with vivid pigments. As we walk through its corridors and patios, you’ll get a sense of the spiritual importance and artistic sophistication of this ancient culture. It’s a quiet yet powerful space that invites you to pause and connect with the deeper symbolism of Teotihuacán.
After finishing our journey through Teotihuacán, we’ll board our private transportation for a comfortable one-hour ride back to Mexico City. Our final stop is the Hilton Hotel, conveniently located right in front of the Alameda Central—the oldest public park in the city and a vibrant cultural hub. From here, your guide will share personal recommendations on where to eat, what to visit, and how to make the most of the rest of your day. Whether you’re interested in museums, street food, shopping, or simply relaxing in the park, the Historic Center offers endless possibilities to continue your adventure.

We got to the meeting point and that was obviously beautiful to walk to and see, and it was clear to see Jesus with the pink umbrella. And surprise it’s going to be a private tour with just me, my friend and Jesus! Could he have cancelled? Maybe, but he didn’t and we LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!!!! Jesus was just so knowledgeable and made us extremely comfortable. It was as if we were friends! I recommend and if you get Jesus. You are lucky!! It’s just as the itinerary stats. We did it all and learned so much. It was Hot but because we followed their recommendation of shoes, water and sunscreen, we were ready!!
Luis was a fantastic guide, really provided a wealth of information about teotihuacan history and culture. It was extremely interesting and informative and also a very friendly atmosphere
Luis did a great job guiding us through the ruins, telling stories, and answering questions. He was genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend!
Jesus was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge and passion for the tour. Guadalupe drove us there safely and effortlessly. Would recommend to a friend.
Luis was our guide through the pyramids. Luis is a trained historian and had visual aids to clearly explain the eras of history of the area, the different indigenous peoples who were involved and how they developed these anthropological sites. He was knowledgeable, able to answer all kinds of questions, and extremely informative. There is no comparison between going to this on one's own vs. having the insight and perspective of someone as informed as Luis. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our small group tour with our guide David, who is warm and friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Teotihuacan. He is safety conscious and showed us alternative ways to descend the steps of the temple when we were doing it for the first time. He highlighted interesting aspects of the temples, the dwelling houses, and showed us illustrations from books, and a video which made me imagine more vividly what life could have been like back then. During the tour, David stopped at one of the local Teotihuacan artisans, who demonstrated how the different colors of green, yellow, blue and red came from plants and a rock. I bought a turtle whistle painted in those natural colors as a lovely souvenir. I highly recommend this wonderful tour.
What a wonderful experience. David was an incredible guide; I learned so much! The tour was well paced and fulfilling.
Carolina was an excellent guide. Just be aware that there is little shade and a lot of stairs, and not just the pyramids. I found the demo of the natural dyes used on the pottery most interesting.
This was an excellent experience from start to finish. The group was truly small (16 people), which made everything feel organized, relaxed, and personal rather than rushed or crowded. Our guide was fantastic. They were incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job balancing full group explanations with extra one-on-one attention, taking time to answer questions in between stops. It really felt like we saw everything Teotihuacan has to offer within the three-hour tour, without ever feeling hurried. There was a last-minute change to the meetup location due to a ceremony happening in the city, but the guides handled it smoothly. Communication via WhatsApp was clear and very helpful, and they made sure everyone understood where to go and what was happening. Despite the change, everything stayed on track. Helpful tip for future travelers: if you’re getting to the meetup spot via Uber, give yourself extra buffer time. Mexico City always has a lot going on, and an Uber that says it’s “3 minutes away” can very easily still be 3 minutes away… 15 minutes later 😄 Overall, this tour was well-organized, informative, and thoughtfully run. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City who wants a thorough Teotihuacan experience without the stress of navigating it on their own.
Informative, organized, and knowledgeable. You want a guide for the tour and this was the perfect pace and the right information.
Pickup was 20 minutes late. Drop off was one hour late and not near designated location. Tour was overbooked, so we had to travel in an extra uber vehicle.
Our guide (David?) was thoroughly engaged, well informed, and full of positive energy. Moreover, by keeping the group small, we were able to move at a reasonable pace without missing any of the interesting details of the site. My only complaint--a small one--was that the van was actually a small SUV and we were squeezed in there pretty tightly for a 1 hour drive. Overall, highly recommended
I booked this tour with a bit of hesitation after reading a few negative reviews, specifically that this was not in fact a "small group" tour and that public transportation was used. I can offer some clarification on those previous reviews and give an update as of December 2025. Overall I would not recommend this tour. 1) "Small group" tour and private transportation: Our group was initially around 20 people, divided into two English and Spanish-speaking groups. We met at the Palacio de Bellas Artes as the Viator instructions indicated. We were then divided largely by those two groups into two vans on the side of the street, about 12 people per van. So, the transportation was fully private. Past years may have used public transportation, but not this one. In terms of the group size, this to me was acceptable as a small group. The problem came when we arrived to Teotihuacan. Apparently there was a family of seven people there, looking to latch onto an existing tour. They managed to negotiate a separate price with our tour guide, Leo, to join our group. So, our initial English group of about 12 people promptly became 19. That's not really a small group anymore, and the significant increase in group size likely slowed the tour down for the rest of the day. The addition of the seven people seemed quite unfair to us. We booked a tour for a small group and our experiences were affected just so the tour guide could make a bit more money. 2) Duration and management of the tour: The description on Viator indicated that we would return to Mexico City by 1pm. This did not happen, and instead we returned to the city by 2:45pm. This was partly due to traffic, however, this was also in large part due to the poor pacing and management of the tour by the tour guide. We often found ourselves standing and waiting for the rest of the group to join us, and then listening to long-winded descriptions of the site that were difficult to comprehend. Leo had difficulty keeping track of the whole group, and we also had difficulty noticing where Leo had gone. Both he and the female Spanish-speaking guide had pink umbrellas when we began in CDMX, so that we could more easily spot them. However, once we got to Teotihuacan, those umbrellas or any other indicators were nowhere to be found. 3) Quality of the tour: As mentioned earlier, I found it difficult to understand Leo. He stated that it had been a long time since he last gave a tour in English, and that was very evident. He was unable to describe certain concepts effectively in English, and often used words that were not actual English words, such as "relationate." I felt that I barely learned anything on this tour, except for that the pyramids used to have a red coloring. Overall, this was not a good experience and not worth the money I spent. Probably the only positive was the transportation from CDMX in the morning. Other than that, the tour was not well managed, the quality of the tour was very low, and the duration of the tour was well beyond what was previously indicated. Do not go on this tour if alternatives are available. In fact, even if no alternatives are available, do yourself a favor and look into options to get to Teotihuacan via the public bus. I'd imagine you could still have a great time exploring the site yourself or with your group, without the use of a guide, and reading about the site on your own.
Alejandro was a tremendous guide; he answered all of our questions, was completely prepared and made the trip fun and informative!
Sophia was a fantastic tour host, very knowledgable and enthusiastic. Trip was well organised. Lots of time for questions and to give a broad overview of the area and its significance.
Sophia was full of energy and very professional. She was enthusiastic about the history and whole tour was very well organized. We had an unforgettable experience. Will definitely refer it to our friends.
Be prepared to walk a lot. If you’re lucky you get Ulysses as your guide.. we had an amazing day. The day went quickly his knowledge was over and beyond.
The guides were very knowledgeable and informative. It was a great experience overall. The trip to the pyramids was definitely a sight to see.
We took the Teotihuacan tour with Estacion and highly recommend it. Good air conditioned private transport, a great guide, Gerrero (ulysseswarryor17@gmail.com) who made sure we got to all the highlights at the site, with some extras like taking us to the older man who showed us how the 4 main colours were made from nature. He also demonstrated how sound echoed from in front of a seating area. We also did the CDMX Centre walking tour on our first day with Estacion which was excellent, Jesus was our enthusiast guide. It gave us a great base of knowledge for walking around the sinking city. We were recommended by friends to do this tour on our first day and are happy we did.
This was a great tour. My guide, Ulysses, was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend. The temples are beautiful
We really enjoyed our visit to Teotihuacan. The tour was well-organized from the beginning to the end. Our tour guide, Sophia, was very knowledgeable, personable, and able to answer any questions our group had. I really appreciated that her presentation did not seem overly rehearsed and was very interactive. We enjoyed our tour so much that we ended up signing up for two more tours with Estacion Mexico in Coyoacan and Roma Norte. I would go on this tour again!
The pyramids are amazing, and you can step back in time as you imagine the people who lived in the times these amazing structures were built and used. Our guide, Sofia, taught us about the people and structures and what they were used for. She was very well informed, helpful and fun! She invited questions but kept us moving at a good pace. For those who need an English (or Spanish) speaking guide, she is great!
Awesome experience, taken care of end-to-end by Sophia! Easy pickup, smooth drive, pleasant tour of Teotihuacán
Lots of walking so be prepared. A hat and sunscreen are recommended. Our tour guide was the best. He was knowledgeable and very cool. Highly recommended
Carmina was a fabulous and friendly guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and happily answered questions. The trip is well worth it. Van is comfortable and the perfect way to not deal with the hassle of driving. We went on a fantastic cool fall day but if it is warmer bring hat light clothes and sunscreen
The pyramids are AMAZING. What a great learning experience. Our guide (Ulysses) was very knowledgeable as well as interesting. In addition, I appreciated that he guided us towards a Mexican artisan to purchase a lovely souvenir/piece of art. I really love my Tlaloc (Aztec water god) painted with historic dyes. And...the day that we arrived home in Phoenix from Mexico city, we had more rain than we've had in 7 years. So I think Tlaloc was working on my behalf. I would truly recommend this tour.
The trip was well organized. Very comfortable, air-conditioned van. Our guide, Guerrero, spoke great English and was very knowledgeable and personable. Also gave great local tips for restaurants and foods to try out back in the city. The pyramids themselves are a great sight, of course. The trip just focused on the pyramids themselves and didnt stop over at any other places along the way, which was also a relief.
We had a fantastic morning in Teotihuacán with Ulises. Small group, great transportation, and Ulises was patient, knowledgeable, and more than willing to share stories. We all learned a lot and had an amazing experience. Highly recommend!
I took a guided downtown walk as well as a halfway minibus visit to Tetihuacan. Both Sophia and Laura were knowledgeable, outgoing and helpful. I recommend them without any reservation whatsoever.
Laura was a knowledgeable host that shared her perspective on the Teotihuacan culture. She answered in depth question posed by the group in an informative and entertaining way. I could sense her passion for the culture she was describing and it was contagious. I felt like we were on a private tour because of tour size and accessibility of the tour guide. Thank you Laura.
A great tour with Eduardo in a group of about 7. We met easily at Palacio de Belles Artes and went in private van to Teotihuacan in about 1 hour. Eduardo was very knowledgeable and good company. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and Eduardo. Thank you!
An amazing tour by an amazing tour guide! Sophia knows her stuff! A not-miss experience to learn about Mexico’s history
Excellent tour, very historical and comprehensive Cool day, David was very aware of steps and uneven sidewalks Highly recommend
The trip was well-planned with great guides who knew the history of the city. Plenty of time to stop, take pictures and ask questions. The demonstration of how the colors were produced was an extra treat. Alejandro, our guide, was perfect. If you aren’t doing the balloon tour, this is the one to pick.
Estrella has fluent English and is very knowledgable about the pyramids and their history. She made the tour stimulating and interesting. She was charming and friendly and really welcomed questions
Definitely bring what they tell to bring. Also include tissues. Luis was very knowledgeable and helpful. We are older and he treated us with care for our need to rest a little. Worth every penny!
Really well organised and fascinating tour, Ulysses was a great guide. Highly recommend this experience, especially if you've done the anthropology museum first.
Our visit to Teotihuacan Pyramids was terrific. Our guide was very informed and passionate about sharing Mexican history. Thanks Ulysses for making our tour so interesting! Dorothy & Larry, Canada
The tour was great! David was great, highly highly recommend! David was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of background information connecting other parts of Mexico with what we were seeing. He also gave us some good food recommendations! No one seemed to feel rushed at any point and if there was somewhere we wanted to see, we didn't feel like any of us were de-railing the plans.
There is really nothing quite like this experience and our tour was exceptional. Our guide Luis was brilliant; so knowledgeable and passionate about this (his) ancient history. Having someone like Luis to guide us through this large archaeological site was very beneficial. Using his excellent presentation skills, not only did we learn about the civilization, but we were also able to feel its culture. A great day! Highly recommended.
This is a great tour. Well organized from the meeting point (pink umbrellas) to the drop-off. Luis, our guide, was fantastic. You could tell that he was really interested in the site and its history, and welcomed questions.
Highly recommend! Warrior was an excellent guide- very down to earth and knowledgeable. One of the best parts of our trip to Mexico City!
We were only 3 of us + Ulysses, The Warrior (Our tour guide). Due to the small group, we got personal attention. His English was perfecto. Great History & Stories.
My husband and I visited CDMX for a week during Christmas 2024. We booked the Teotihuacan day tour and were fortunate to have Aldo as our tour guide. He is so passionate about and knowledgeable about the history of this site, and CDMX and Mexico more generally. He was so friendly, welcoming and patient with all of our questions. Really loved getting to know him and learning about the history of this beautiful site - his passion for the subject was contagious! Thank you Aldo and Estacion Mexico team for sharing your culture and history with us. It was an honor and privilege!
Fabulous tour. Luis is very knowledgeable and fun to hang with. He introduced us to his friend who was an expert on traditional crafts. Highly recommended!
Beautiful place, great experience, our guide Luis was a lot of fun and knowledgeable he made the trip a great experience. We also very much enjoyed our group. It was small enough (6 people) where we all got to know each other a bit. Although we were a couple the rest of the group were all solo travelers all from different countries and it was fun getting to experience the place together. Many of the group (including us) continued to hang out together after the tour was over. Also we really liked getting there and back. The van ride was really nice and the ATV ride was a really fun surprise Would highly recommend
I couldn’t find the meeting place which was moved from the original location. I searched and searched with no luck. They left without me. I had my cell phone in my hand the whole time but I never received a text or call to let me know where to meet the tour. This was my last day in Mexico City and I was bitterly disappointed. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED DURING OUR VISIT IN NOV 2023.
Really excellent tour, informative and fun. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico. You meet at 8am in the City, travel is 1h15-1h45, you then have 2-3hrs on site, before travelling back. That means you miss the hottest/busiest part of the day and can get back for a late lunch, which was perfect for us.
Got the tour with Leo, we were super glad to have him. He is very attentive and prepared with amazing graphics and maps so you really get to understand better the history of the place. He was also super patient with us. What I liked about that experience is they also included a motor bike ride so we had a ton of fun and you get to see the whole complex not only the main pyramid. Highly recommend.
