The tour guide was great! Such an interesting trip and fun to ride bikes through the pyramids. Highly recommend!
We had a nice time on our excursion; however, it is not for the hard-core cyclist. Some pluses included: entry to Teotihuacan, english speaking guide, and included lunch. Some minuses: minimal biking with too many stops, way too much sun and a midday excursion was hot, too many stops with people selling things to you, 2 flat tires. If you do go, bring a big hat, sunscreen and lots of water.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. Ramón was a knowledgeable and informative tour guide. The cycling was enjoyable as well.
My adult daughter, her partner, and I did the bike tour and it was fabulous. Visiting Teotihuacan has been a life dream and the combined biking walking tour was a great way to experience it. The pre-tour information was a helpful context. We appreciated the range of stops including interpretation of specific features, meeting local artisans, visiting an underground quarry, and sampling local food and beverage.
Fun day bicycling around the area. It was nice to visit places without any crowds. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about the history of the area.
Great tour with Luis! Biking tour with historical guide in Teotihuacan. Great food & snacks. Would definitely recommend.
Educational and the staff were very friendly. Make sure you bring a hat and sun protective clothes !!
We had a wonderful guide, Javier, who know so much about the Teotihuacanos and spoke an easy to understand Spanish. Biking through the archeological area around the central pyramids allowed us to see additional ruined and a cave we eould have otherwise missed. A wonderful day.
Fantastic area to visit by bike, very knowledgeable guide with a great lunch included. A bit more time on the archaeological site would have been nice.
The best thing we did in Mexico City. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, the pyramids are stunning, and the biking was very fun.
We had such a great day! Picked us up right on time. All day was right on schedule. Our driver did an amazing job both there and back. Luis our guide was so knowledgeable and thoughtful! We enjoyed the site. Incredible, piece of history. The stop to see the obsidian and tequila was fun. The bike ride made us wish we had booked a place to stay there so we could have tried several of the restaurants! The cave was cool. The lunch was good, some entrees better than others depending on your taste! All in all a wonderful day to see some ancient history!! Research the site then go the museum of anthropology to see all the artifacts they have saved from the site.
The bike portion was not what we expected, but still enjoyable. I wish our guide would have paused periodically so we could take pictures of the pyramids from a distance. Then again, I guess we could have just stopped and he would have come back for us. All in all, it was a great experience--just not quite what we imagined.
The Teotihuacán walk and bike tour offers a mixed experience. The highlight is undoubtedly the walking tour of the temples, where the guide's deep knowledge shines, bringing the ancient ruins to life with captivating stories and insights. This portion of the tour is both engaging and educational, providing a memorable exploration of this historic site. However, the bike segment falls short of expectations. Limited visibility due to biking outside the fence and a noisy bike can detract from the experience. Additionally, the frequent requests for tips from vendors at lunch, while understandable once, become overbearing with multiple performances. Transport-wise, the lack of air conditioning in the van, with a requirement to keep windows down, impacts comfort, especially in warm weather. In summary, while the walking tour is fantastic thanks to the expert guide, the bike tour and some logistical aspects could be improved for a better overall experience.
What an incredible and effortless experience! From booking to logistics and the adventures, we highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Ramon, is a local who provided great insights on the pyramids, the site, and even shared personal experiences from his childhood memories. His knowledge and expertise added value to our tour.
This was a great tour! The tour guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. If you are booking this tour through Tripadvisor, I recommend checking if you have transportation included or not. We booked the tour that did not include transportation from our hotel so we decided to take the metro and the bus to Teotihuacan. It was fairly simple but when we arrived at the pyramids, we were a bit confused about how to get to the location. We ended up having to pay for our pyramid visit tickets out of pocket (even though it is included in the tour) so we could take a shortcut cross through the pyramids and arrive at the meeting location. The walk is not too far but since it was our first time there, we were a bit confused. Once we found the location, the company greeted us with local bread, cookies and coffee and they refunded us the cost of the ticket. If you chose to take the bus to this location, I suggest arriving early so you can find and walk to the location. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would do it again.
Eloy was a great guide, offering insight and information throughout. The added fun of cycling around the nearby area (which included going underground in a cave system, and visiting a local co-operative) made the whole day diverse and very fun.
A wonderful experience and the bike tour is very well planned! There are nice stops at local places. We loved it!! Highly recommended!
Awesome tour in bike, lot of informations and discovers, the guide was really nive and was able yo translate in english. we recommand !
This was the best tour we have done anywhere in the world. So much fun. Not only was Ramon a wonderful guide, you got to see the pyramids from a unique perspective as you arrived on bike and then circled the site. There were also several stops that I don't think are on other tours so you get to see a larger portion of Teotihiacan. This is the best way to do it!
Honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. We had a lovely time and could really feel the peoples love for their land and culture.
Bicycling always adds another dimension to a tour experience, and it was nice to visit with a local stonesmith, and see a cave -- along with the pyramids.
We had a fantastic experience in the Teotihuacan + Bike Tour! Ramón was our guide, and he was very knowledgeable and engaging. The biking was very fun and definitely a highlight. We enjoyed spending the day with him!
This tour was fantastic. I enjoyed the combination of walking and biking, and getting to see some things via biking that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Our tour guide, Eloy, was very kind and passionate about his work. From pick up in the morning to drop off in the afternoon, all logistics were handled seamlessly by the tour company.
Loved the caves! So interesting to learn the story about them… Ramon is very knowledgable. So much fun to bike around the area too.
Highly recommend the bike tour! You get the ability to bike to the different archeological sites, the cave and the pyramids all in a reasonable time frame. Our tour guide Eloy was very friendly, funny and informative of all the sites we visited. Even if you feel like you might not handle the bike ride, they have a van following in case the heat gets to you. Great experience!
Professional team running an unusual experience of Teotihuacan! Our guide Luis gave a great description of the site and gave us enough time to wander around on our own. The cave is a fascinating experience and they even provide hard hats and torches. If you are not very fit or not good at cycling though, maybe opt for the van ride instead. The bikes are heavy trail bikes and the gears can be sticky. The route goes over unpaved paths and cobblestones. You still get to see the town on a slow drive in the van. Pick up and drop off at Mexico city was very smooth. Angeles was very communicative, thank you!
Tour was great, especially the walking tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Biking portion of the tour was ok. A little more time could be spent making sure the bikes fit properly. My seat was way too low. At the first stop we adjusted the seat height but by then my knee was really bothering me. I spin every other day and with the correct seat height have no issues with my knee. Wish there was a little more too see on the bike but the cave we stopped at was very interesting. Other than the cave, the only stop was at a shop where we did have great local alcoholic drink tasting. They were fantastic and I am not much of a drinker. We were given a snack between the walking and bike tour. That was a very nice touch. After the bike tour we were taken to a restaurant for a buffet lunch. The food was good. Overall we really liked the tour. Great job!
The Teotihuacán site is incredible on its own, but this tour (with Miguel as a guide) really made this a unique experience. A stop in Miguel's family's obsidian workshop was an unexpected highlight of the trip. It was a full-day tour without a single dull moment - definitely recommend as a day trip from Mexico City
Everything about this day was excellent. From the driver who picked us up at the hotel in CDMX (and brought us back), to the guide we had for the day, Eloy, to the vegan lunch at one of the local restaurants. Incredibly interesting site. And Eloy was our favourite guide from our three weeks in Mexico. We were fortunate to go on New Years Day and there were very few people there. Highly recommend
The highlight of the trip was our guide's short capsule narration of the life of Frida Kahlo, and his overview of the Coyocaon history... he was engaging and down to earth, a real delight
Easy pick up from our air bnb, incredible guide (Eloy) was so knowledgeable and chill and made this touristy activity interesting and fun. went on a Monday and it wasn’t very crowded at all.
A driver picked us up from Mexico City and took us to their office near the Teotihuacan site. There we met our guide for the day, Eloy. Eloy did a fantastic job explaining the history of the place, and was clear in distinguishing between what was generally accepted by experts as accurate, and some of the more hypothetical ideas and theories. After walking around the Teotihuacan structures, we rode on bicycles to a cave and then to a pulque tasting. Eloy was flexible enough to let us ride back from the second location in a van, rather than on a bicycle.
Miguel was fantastic! Very enthusiastic and led a great tour of both the ancient city and the modern towns. We would have liked lunch to be a little earlier, as we did not end up eating until 3 pm, but if you pack a snack then you’ll be good to go. Thanks to Miguel and his family.
Fantastic experience highly recommended, thank you. Delicious lunch provided, extra water bottles. Perfect choice
Ramon was an incredible guide, I learned so much and had a great time. The bike ride was gorgeous and we got to see the back of the pyramids as well as interesting caves. Lunch was yummy, but a few hours later than I'm used to- bring snacks!
Great tour. We made some stops on our bikes to a few different sites. All told a very nice relaxing low key way to see Teothuacan.
The bike tour was great! It gives you chance to explore more than my walking or car, and it is good exercise :) Luis, our guide was the best, he answered every question and was very kind and friendly. His English is perfect and he made the tour even better!
Fantastic trip with a fantastic guide, Elloy. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The company did a great job of including everything and more in the cost of the trip. Highly recommend
Our group of 9 had a fantastic visit to Teotihuacan. Ramon was a knowledgeable guide who added the flavor of his own experiences to many of the archeological sites we explored during the tour. Everyone was delighted with each of the stops along the way, especially the Temazcal to cap everything at the end! Teotihuacan en Bici was also able to accommodate a last-minute realization that one member of our group could not bike, resulting in an even more adventurous tandem bike experience for two. With transportation to/from CDMX included, the whole day went very smoothly and I'd absolutely recommend it for anyone looking to visit Teotihuacan.
It was an amazing experience to live this tour with our family as well as visiting places that we haven’t seen before. Our guide: Jorge Caballero gave us an amazing overview of all what we visited. We recommend to ask for him, we really thankful for his knowledge and patience that indeed taught us a lot!
Excellent tour with great guide. We really enjoyed. Site was beautiful and arranged transport was very convenient. Highly recommend.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English, and provided us not only with a great tour of the pyramids but also the area. After all of the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, the bike tour was a great way to get out of the city and see some of the true history in the outlying area.
Luis was an excellent tour guide for both the walking and cycling portions of our day. He gave us a very informative overview of the site’s history at a relaxed pace and in a super friendly and flexible manner. We loved biking around the perimeter and visiting the museum, the caves and the artisanal workshop. He was great at answering our questions and adapting the depth of his commentary to our level of interest. We highly recommend this tour combination.
We loved exploring the pyramids. It was more than we expected: beautiful and historic. That was by far our favorite and Miguel’s knowledge added SOOO much.
We had a great time with Miguel. The combination of touring the pyramids and biking around visiting the caves, cacao tasting, and obsidian studio was so much fun and informative. Miguel is a fantastic tour guide who shared so many interesting stories and history with us.
We loved it all. I liked all that Miguel showed us. Such a fun day! We learned a lot! Loved riding the bikes.
Jorge was extraordinary! Super knowledgeable and kind. The day was very enjoyable, specially the visit to the cave, amazing experiet
We learned so much from our friendly—and funny—guide Miguel. We would've gotten a fraction of the amazing historical context if we did a solo trip to Teotihuacan. Book the tour already! This is for you if you're interested in learning history, exploring outside the park (read walking inside a cave), and hanging out with a local.
My favorite part of the experience was going down into the caves and learning about the culture through storytelling. Our guide, Miguel, was extremely warm and knowledgeable about teotihuacan and all the beauty within. We also saw how chocolate was prepared and were able to sample some! The regional tastes were out of this world!! Highly recommend this tour!
