If you select the option, we will pick you up at the entrance of your hotel in Mexico City (Only at touristic areas, subject to availability)
Upon arrival at the Volare Balloon Port, you will need to check in. Afterward, you can enjoy a delicious coffee while watching the balloons inflate. Then we will take off and fly over Teotihuacan.
The hot air balloon flight takes you over the Teotihuacan Valley, where you can see various attractions from the air. The flight lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on weather conditions. Upon landing, we'll have a traditional toast and we will return to the Volare Balloon Port.
If weather allows it, you will be able to see the Archaeological site during the ballon flight.
You will see the Magical Town of San Juan Teotihuacan during the flight.
You will see the Magical Town of San Martin de las Piramides during the flight.
Once the flight is over, we'll return to the Volare balloon port where we'll give you your flight certificate. Then you'll enjoy a Mexican breakfast with Mariachi music. A true Mexican fiesta!
After the flight experience, if you select the option you can visit the Teotihuacan Archaeological Zone and enjoy this site from the ground.
Once the experience is over, we will return to Mexico City. The journey back to your hotel takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Volare makes it easy to fly safely and comfortably! They were also excellent at providing the post flight champagne and flight certificates, detailed instructions and organized precision for coordinating who is going where. Will definitely be recommending this one to everyone!

Because of the recently negative reviews we prepared ourselves well: we researched how we escape the selling events, where we would be picked up on our way back and so on. Just be aware: if you book the 600$ guided tour with Volare, they will bring you first to an obsidian selling venue and you will loose 1,5hrs. If you don’t take the guided tour they bring you close to gate 4. Don’t listen to the people waiting for you when the van arrives. They talk about free tours but will you bring to obsidian sellers as well. Just walk straight to the entrance and enjoy the full time at the pyramids.

Mostly, this was a great experience, but there was one major problem. The hot air balloon ride and the visit to Teotihuacán were great. Then, myself and 14 other guest from the same group were left stranded at the end of the visit. There was confusion and poor communication about where Volare would pick us up from at the end of theTeotihuacán visit. This confusion was shared by both Spanish-speaking & English-speaking guests, so it can't be blamed on language barrier. Volare headed back to CDMX without us - 15 paid guests - that is not a small number. It turns out Volare chooses to pick up its guests outside of the "gates of rh site" so that they don't have to pay fees. Most other tour companies do pick up their guests inside the "gate" which would be the preferred option. After nearly 2 hours of waiting together and texting Volare via WhatsApp, they eventually sent a bus back to us pick up to bring us back to CDMX. What started as a fantastic experience ended up being a very stressful day.
The first half was great from the pick up to the hot air balloon ride to the breakfast after that is where things went down hill they have this like third party “partners” that are supposed to take you to the pyramid but turned into a side quest where they took us to some culture demonstration/ gift shop which wasn’t bad but this took more than an hour limiting our time for exploring the pyramids what made things worst is they kept splitting us up and handing us over to different drivers at every stop so it was confusing where we were going and the last group of like 10 people we were with were told to meet at gate 4 for pick up back to the city but after like 35 mins of no show someone in the group called and they said they had already left without us saying we didn’t meet up in the spot they told us we called again the volare company and they said they should have tooken us because they had two empty vans but neither the volare and the third party people were taking responsibility for this and we all had to figure out our own way home which led me to having to take a $120 Uber ride back home that took like 4hrs if you book this be sure to bring extra money just incase they leave you !!!

Flying with Volare was truly a breathtaking experience. Seeing the Teotihuacan Pyramids from above was beautiful, especially with all the other balloons in the background. I recommend anyone coming to Mexico City to experience this tour.

This was the worst experience and the worst arrangement I've ever had during my 15-day trip to Mexico. They never answered their phones, even though they told me to call this number for any problems. Incorrect pick-up information from the tour leader left us waiting for two hours without being able to contact anyone from the company.
Beautiful experience floating over the pyramids. Had to get up super early for pick up, once arrived they put you into groups, after take off you will have amazing views of the top of Teotihicaun. After landing we share in a champagne toast. Then loaded back up to enjoy a breakfast buffet. After breakfast tour buses took us to the pyramids, here we met with guides who wanted us to follow them to explain everything about the site. The guides were fun but once we got into the park and shown some novelties and gift shop it ate into a lot of time to visit the sites themselves, we were then rushed through and it was bit chaotic. I wish we got to spend more time without the push and rush from the guides to get us through as it was expensive to pay the extra for their details. I would prefer to have had us skip the gift shop and just hit that at the end of time permitted as there are plenty of peddlers inside the site. The ride back took forever because of traffics. I recommend this trip but be mindful of the tour guides and being rushed, this was a once in a lifetime experience and felt shorter a bit on what we could get to see in the end up close.

Wow! What an amazing experience!! The pickup from our hotel was flawless and the drive to the location was fast and easy. Once at the location, check-in was seamless! They offered coffee and tea to warm up before the flight! Our balloon pilot Karen was amazing! She pointed out the pyramids to us and explained what they were! Once back at the start point we had a delicious breakfast served by Volare! Absolutely amazing experience!!

We had a wonderful 1h trip with Juan Diaz. He’s a super cool guide and made the experience perfectly easy even for a person that’s scared of hights. The ballon flight in general didn’t feel like 1h. In one ballon we were 4-5 people which was perfect that you still could move around without feeling crowded in. The atmosphere was amazing. We were super lucky with the wind and clouds, so we had a perfect view on the pyramids. All in all it was a 10/10 experience and I would always recommend it!
It was truly one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. I’ve been to 21 countries and do thrill seeking activities often. The ride was so peaceful. I would totally recommend this vendor as well. Captain Hugo was a vibe.
This experience was absolutely amazing. I loved it. Why I am giving it 3 stars was because of what happened after the tour. They picked us up at our hotel in the morning with no problems. When they dropped us off, they literally dumped us somewhere and said get an uber. It took us an hour to get back. The specifics were that some roads are closed. They told us that roads were closed and they could ONLY drop us off at a certain point. I understand that it is a holiday weekend, but not all roads were closed and not all efforts were made. When the driver showed us the paper of where he was supposed to drop us off, it said the monument revolution. He specifically drove there and then showed us the roads were closed. When we started walking, it was just that one road that was closed. He even told us to get an uber. It was premeditated and decided before we even got into the van. There was no transparency on the drop off point. Furthermore, they made an announcement that every effort would be made to drop us off as closely to our hotels as possible. Everyone in our van was personally dropped us. We were ditched on the side of the road. Me, my husband and our 13 year old son. We had to walk an hour to the hotel. Honestly, the experience itself was amazing, but I have never ever been dropped off like that.

Make sure you go with people that are willing to switch spots so you can get good pictures. I went the the pyramids as well. I would have liked to be dropped off closer to the pyramids entrance though. Breakfast was delicious. Definitely book!

Balloon experience was great, but would NOT recommend doing the Teotihuacán pyramids as part of the experience because of the collusion that we witnessed between Volare and the third party tour guides that greet you when you’re dropped off at the restaurant for the self-guided tour. The whole point of a self guided tour was to not be corralled around, yet when the bus dropped us off at the restaurant we were met with tour guides who claimed they were part of Volare and even chatting with the bus driver and asking us how the mariachi band and breakfast were. They then took us on a “tour” for 30+ minutes and tried to sell us obsidian products (which took another 30 minutes) before trying to upsell us on a guided tour. Those who refused were dropped off at the actual front gate where we had to wait 20 minutes to buy a ticket to enter the pyramids. All in all, this cut our tour time by at least half and we were barely able to see much of the actual site - we missed the temple and only saw the two pyramids since we ended up only having an hour around the entire site. What upsets us most is the blatant collusion between Volare and this third party tour group. Moreover, these situations could have been avoided had they just dropped us off at the front of the entrance instead of at a restaurant on the side of the road. Once you return from the pyramids, you have to wait at the same restaurant for 15+ minutes despite being repeatedly told to show up on time. The folks at the restaurant really try to get you to sit down and eat and drink something (they will point blank ask if you’re part of Volare) so they can upsell and charge you for even more than they already have. They also told us to meet back at the restaurant at 12:25pm, but the van didn’t even leave until ~12:50pm.
Hot air balloon pick up was relatively seamless (they asked us to meet at a hotel that was 10 min from where we were staying). Liked how they gave us coffee before the hot air balloon and how they served us breakfast after. The ride itself was great, Ernesto Dominguez was a very skilled operator and was happy to share details on how how operating one works. The crew works seamlessly to help the hot air balloon land and drive everyone back to the main center

Flight was superb! Great pilot! Fun and gave us a great view of pyramids! Volare is top tier for the balloon ride. Having breakfast at their outdoor site instead of the cave that hundreds of tourists all attend, was a great alternative! The transportation and guide at the pyramids was a little disorganized. It was quite expensive for a group guide. I think I paid 600 pesos additional onsite for a guide and admission. Still, it’s very close and worth seeing

Our pilot, Juan Manuel, was friendly and professional. I liked the explanations he gave about how piloting a hot air balloon works. Once we were back on the ground we were treated to a delicious breakfast in an atmospheric courtyard while a mariachi band played. The whole experience requires getting up early in the morning, but it's worth it. Note that their typical balloon ride lasts about 35 minutes, although ours went longer because the pilot is at the mercy of the wind currents.
