Everything was amazing. From picking up on time from the hotel to the ending. The balloon ride was amazing, smooth landing. Our tour guide Gaby is amazing. She’s extremely knowledgeable. 10/10 recommended.
Excellent experience overall! No complaints, no negative comments.
Louis was very knowledgable and the bikes were better than we expected! The cycle route was not at all challenging and a great was to see more than the tourist hot spots. The restaurant was nice and all staff very attentive, friendly and accommodating of allergies and tastes!
Our guide and cycling guide, Enrique, was knowledgeable, helpful, patient and kind. The company picked us up and dropped us back to our hotel. Timing was really good, we arrive at Teotihuacán around 9 am and it was cool and quiet. The site is huge, so an early start was great! The cycling is what we expected in Mexico, bikes could use TLC and adjustments, but we made do. Our guide kept eyes on us and waited if we had problems. We went down into a cave/tunnel. After the cave we had a Mezcal and tequila at a small artisanal location. The owner is also an obsidian craftsman. Last stop before returning to our hotel was for lunch. The meal was ok, we were happy to see a meal after 5 hours. There were Mexican dancers performing. That was fun to watch. It was a full day, got hot after 11, but a memorable experience. A lot packed in. The staff were friendly!
My wife and I did a Teotihuacán walking tour with Teotihuacánenbici Tours, booked through Viator. This company seems to feature cycling tours, but we did the walking version. Our guide, Eloy, was super knowledgeable and excellent. He’s a native Spanish speaker, but his English skills are outstanding. The pace of the tour was just right and he gave us time to climb the pyramid of the moon and have a look around. Eloy has a deep reservoir of knowledge about Teotihuacán, the surrounding villages, and Mexican history in general. He was able to answer all of our questions with detailed and interesting answers. The driver who picked us up from the hotel, Angeles, was also very good and even had recommendations for us in Mexico City and beyond, for example in Oaxaca. Highly recommended.
Raymond was an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide. I had a private tour, and he showed me the murals and pyramids I wanted to see. I also saw the local towns and learned about the culture and traditions. This tour included a 3 course meal in a very colourful and delightful restaurant. Giovani was an excellent, informative and friendly driver who was very punctual.
Amazing tour. Luis is great, intelligent, educated person. We had wonderful time because of him. Thank you very much
It’s a fascinating deep dive into the ancient civilization of those who built the pyramids and those who came afterward. They truly are historic treasures. It’s a long day, so get coffeed up early and be sure to eat a good breakfast to power you through to lunch, which isn’t until after 1 pm. Our guide Luis is a true student of history and culture and showed us some very special details. The cave with the hole and sunlight streaming through was awesome. Angela was a great driver and got us through CDMX traffic with ease and confidence.
Very good tour! Luis was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw everything I wanted to see and had a good lunch afterwards.
Great tour with Luis! The multiple stops were awesome (especially Miguel’s house), and he’s a very knowledgeable local. Getting around on a bike was great, we much preferred that to a bus or ATV. Some of the riding is slightly technical, though, and I could see an older person or someone without a lot of experience on a bike struggling a bit. The transfer from our hotel in CDMX was painless and smooth. Unfortunately, the lunch at the restaurant afterward was easily the worst meal of our trip (very bland gringofied food), and it gave my girlfriend food poisoning. Would recommend the tour itself, especially on the bike, but definitely skip the free lunch.
We had a blast touring Teotihuacan with Ramon as our guide. He was extremely passionate about the local culture and told us many stories about the sites and the history. It was a very personal trip and we were grateful to have experienced a small piece of the local life. The tour itself was well organized and thought out. They had lockers, hats and water available for anyone unprepared which was great because the sun, even in December can be quite strong.
This tour is magnificent. Communication with the team via WhatsApp before the tour was excellent. They listened to and answered all of my concerns. They picked us up (I went with my husband and younger sister) in Mexico City at the agreed-upon point. The car was in excellent condition, and the driver was great and always put safety first. At the small office, they have a gorgeous Siamese cat, Gatúbela, who likes to be petted. The first part of the tour, the walking part, was interesting. I'm from Mexico City and had gone to the pyramids before, but I'd never visited some of the places the guide took us. You learn a lot of things. I have bad knees. Consider that there is a part where you have to go up some ancient steps and then go down some other very steep ancient steps. At first, I decided just to wait for them to return, as I thought they would, because I didn't know there was a small and alternative exit that way (when you get to the sun pyramid, I think). Eventually, my sister and husband came back for me because they said the guide said the path continued over their side. And okay? My husband helped me go down, but I don't know how much help I would have received from the guide if I had been by myself. He didn't seem keen on helping me down the pyramid steps or waiting for us during the whole trip (he was always either walking or cycling too fast without making sure we were okay and following). The second part of the tour, the cycling, had some bumps. The places the guide took us (the cave, the obsidian workshop) were absolutely marvellous. I particularly enjoyed the workshop section; it was fascinating. The feedback I have about this part would be as follows: *The lamps/torches my husband and I were given to use inside the cave were not working. They technically could be turned on, but they illuminated almost nothing, and it was very dark. I had to use my phone's torch. The guide gave us the torches and then walked very fast without making sure everyone's torches worked and without making sure everyone was following. He did wait further down, but we had to walk for a bit without seeing anyone on the path until we eventually found them. I'd advise ensuring the torches can powerfully light the path and that the guides wait for people. *The cycling path is advertised as fit for beginners, but I digress. It is not super hard, but it definitely is not easy either. I'd say you need to have at least intermediate skills. The reasoning is as this: I'd expect 100% flat paved paths with no holes or obstacles for an easy road for beginners. And, of course, not sharing the lane with cars. The road they take you through has the following characteristics: less than half is paved and away from cars, most of it is dirt roads with a myriad of holes of many sizes, a lot of those holes are really big and due to the rain are filled with water (and look like little pools on the road). You must share the road with cars on a few occasions; when that happens, no bike lane is available. There is a short but very steep part of a road for which you need a lot of leg power. You must know how to signal with your hands to tell the cars you are going to turn left or right. Parts of the road are very narrow and have many rocks. Again, the guide was going too fast without ensuring everyone followed him safely. My sister and I ended up requesting the van because it was just too much (yes, remember there is a van you can request if you are physically unable to follow or feel unwell. Then you follow the cyclists but sit on the van). Regarding the van, there was a person who I don't recall their name that told my sister that she should get in the van when I was doing it (I requested it very early) because later they wouldn't be able to get the bike, and she'd have to suck it up and finish on bike. I'm sorry, what? I don't think you should talk to people like that, especially to someone who might need accessibility accommodation. My sister continued by bike for a few more minutes and then joined me in the van. The fantastic driver simply put the bike in the trunk, and that was it. I don't know what the issue was with the other person. It was a shame we couldn't do it by bike. I mean, it was still impressive as we went to the same places. But the road is actually for intermediate-level cyclists. I consider myself a beginner; I can cycle for around 12 km on cycle lanes and paved shared roads, and I ride slower than more experienced people. I can do the distance and follow along, but the streets have to be in fair condition and not in the same lane as the cars. I'd strongly advise updating the information for this and say it is not for beginners; it's for folks from intermediate level and up. And list the actual type of roads! My husband could follow with no issue because he's expert level. He can cycle on highways and almost any type of road. Something I didn't consider and recommend you do is the weather and the altitude. That day, the weather was way too hot for me (I would sweat and feel my skin on fire by just standing idle under a shadow), and the altitude was getting the best of me – I'd get tired of doing almost nothing because I lacked oxygen. So maybe you are an intermediate-level cyclist but consider these points. The altitude might knock you out. Finally, regarding the cycling part—and I reckon this might be subjective—the bike I use where I live is a Dutch-style one. Mainly because if I use the sports ones, those hurt my back, and I end up in pain for days. They only had one similar model, but the seat was too high for me, so I used a sports bike. That definitely didn't help my case, as I felt nervous about it. I wasn't used to it, and they never explained how to switch gears because the control for that was a different model from mine (with that road, you have to know how to switch gears. Which I do. On my bike!). The final part is the food. They took us to a restaurant near the office, and the food and the service were superb. We loved it so much. That day, we were celebrating my sister's birthday and my marriage. It also happened to be the other tourist's birthday, and the waiters and the tour staff surprised us when we finished eating! It was adorable. None of us expected it, and it was such a lovely touch. A final feedback would be that people with mobility issues, like myself, can still go on these tours, follow along and enjoy. I can walk very long distances; I can cycle. What I cannot do is take very steep steps and be forced to walk as fast as a completely body-abled person. I didn't ask about the steps before the tour because I read that now it is forbidden to climb the pyramids, so I assumed it was going to be mostly flat. Which it was, but that bit with steps is important because that leads to the continuation of the tour's road. I'd just advise to share this information on the tour description. And to have guides with a tad more patience for people like me. Maybe you could even add a section when the customer is buying the tour where they can say if they have mobility concerns or if there's anything they'd need so you can pair them with a patient guide. Overall, I loved the tour. The explanations were on point and engaging. The places they took us were enjoyable and unique. I had an unforgettable time with my husband and sister. The staff was incredible in general. Special kudos to our driver—she was the absolute best. And more kudos to the wonderful people at the obsidian workshop. You're going to see incredible places and have the best of times! I highly recommend this tour (just keep in mind my comments about the cycling part). I'd definitely repeat it when I have more advanced cycling skills.
Well paced and interesting! Learned a lot from the guide and it was great to have an adventure outside downtown.
It was a Very nice experience! Our tour guy was very knowledgeable! The pyramids were amazing! It’s a must
Everything was fantastic. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the site where Ramón provided an overview of the people who inhabited the region before walking around the pyramids. He was detailed in explaining everything we saw and answered all our questions. We had a few other stops around the main site before ending the day with a delicious lunch and heading back to CDMX. Definitely worth the experience, I highly recommend, we all enjoyed it.
Really excellent tour. Both the driver (Angeles) and the guide (Luis) were full of great information and taught me a lot about the area and the ruins. They were both full of good humor and answered my many questions. I really really enjoyed getting to see some of the surviving murals and going down in the cave. Getting picked up from a hotel near my air bnb was a breeze.
From the moment we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, everything was perfect. The group tour did not feel rushed; we were given a detailed history and were able to visit a father, son, and daughter obsidian workshop. We also visited a man-made “cave,” which was pretty cool! Above the cave, a ray of light shone through a hole that helped create a nice photo opportunity. We got a tour of different towns that were once part of the Teotihuacán outlying towns. I believe the tour guide said they were once similar to apartments. I went for my birthday and was given a gift along with a piece of cake after our dinner. I would definitely recommend a Bici tour. I plan on scheduling another tour this time with my brother and sister, who have never been. I want them to have a great time taking everything in and soaking up the beauty Teotihuacán has to offer. Since I previously had a wonderful experience with Bici tour, I figured why not book them again.
There were pros and cons to this tour. Firstly, our tour guide Eloy was highly knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful, detailed tour of Teotihuacán that we thoroughly enjoyed. This was absolutely the highlight and we were very happy with this. The bike tour afterwards was okay, however mostly cycled the perimeter of the ruins (with limited views) and the condition of our bikes averaged from good to okay. The time at the artisan market was quite long and touristy as expected, while we had to miss another temple due to time constraints. The included 3-course lunch was very substantial (with dietary options) but the restaurant had multiple rounds of performers who each asked for tips afterwards. There was no air conditioning on the return journey which was disappointing for the price paid. We already told visiting friends to skip the bike ride and choose another company for the price point. We’re still glad we visited Teotihuacán and had an excellent tour of the site itself, which we’re grateful for.
We did the Teotihuacán tour on Christmas Eve and it was the perfect time for it. There were only 4 of us on the tour so it felt like a private tour! We got picked up right on time from our hotel in Mexico City and dropped off at the office just outside Teotihuacán. Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We were given little backpacks to keep and water for the day. We spent a couple of hours exploring the pyramids of the sun & moon and learning about the amazing history. Our tour guide answered all of our questions and shared so many fantastic facts and images with us. After our walking tour, we returned to the office to pick up our bikes and rode around the outside of the ruins, stopping at a cave (which we got to go inside of), had a mezcal/tequila tasting and looked at some local products. The bike ride itself is very easy - mostly flat, hardly any cars on the road. It’s a surreal experience to cycle through a small town in Mexico, enjoying the view. The day ended with a 3 course lunch - as well as a lovely surprise of cake for our birthday and a song from the mariachi band! Definitely a highlight of our time in Mexico City!
This was the highlight of our Mexico City trip! Eloy was an excellent tour guide who taught us so much, and we are so grateful that he was happy to answer all of our questions. We are a family of 4 with kids ages 10&12 with us, and Eloy was so nice to them too. We enjoyed the history of the pyramids, the stop with the vendor Juan, who showed us the natural pigment methods (we bought a little turtle flute from him), and we LOVED the cave tour. We were grateful for the hard hats as we did bump our heads a couple of times but were fine because of the helmets. We loved it! Especially our youngest, who loved exploring the smaller caves, too. Eloy was patient with our group; the other attendees wanted to take a little more time, and it was a lot of fun.! We enjoyed learning about the agave at the little shop. The drinks were good, and my daughter found a little woven backpack she was excited to buy. Lunch was a great way to try something new, and the servers were very nice and helpful (even understanding my wheat allergy [trigo]). The driver was nice and we felt safe. There was one back seat missing a seatbelt but luckily we only had 6 people in our group so we didn’t need the 7th seat. We were grateful to start early, it got very hot later in the day and the line to enter the pyramids area was very long, whereas ours was short and easy early in the morning. Thank you Eloy for such a wonderful day! I didn’t do my peso calculation right and wish I would have tipped you more. For other travelers, it can get hot so long pants were good, plus hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. I wished I had brought a loose long sleeve open front shirt too to cover my arms more (they did include that in their instructions the day before, so my fault). I’d recommend an extra 1000-1500 pesos for a family depending on how much you want to shop and tip. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this tour! I wish we could book Eloy for more tours!
Everything was good organized and relaxed at the same time. I really liked the stories from our guide Ramon and the way he illustrated them with prepared pictures. He did nice photos of us and was patient for us moving around and making photos of the site. Very nice excursion! I’d only add a bit more time to walk around the site. So, thanks a lot for being flexible on the schedule and giving us an additional hour. That was really helpful to perceive better this majestic place!
The tour included hotel pickup, which was on time. Tour with our guide Miguel. Bilingual. Adequate time to see the archeological sites and some fantastic ancient paintings. Optional bike ride or you can ride the van. Ride back to hotel included. Everything about pickup and the tour communicated the day before by email and whatsapp. Would recommend. We were pleased with our tour from door to door.
We were really excited about this tour, but were disappointed by the quality of the tour guide and the communication around drop off / pick up. The guide put the bare minimum effort into explaining this incredible site. We received an email communication confirming the details of our tour, including pick up location. We were charged for the tour, but then less than 24 hours before the tour we received phone call asking us to change our pick up location to a point 40 minutes away. This was a huge inconvenience, and resulted in adding a couple of expensive Uber rides. Buyer beware!
Luiz was our guide always ready to listen and answer any questions and Giovani was our driver: the nicest and most accommodating person you would want in your group
Visiting the pyramids was astounding. The scale of the place is unbelievable. The driver and the guide were excellent and the trip to the obsidian workshop was great. Nice to shop with locals selling their own artworks. The cave is exceptional, showing the knowledge of archeoastronomy that the ancients possessed.
This was a superb tour. From the pickup to drop off at our hotel and absolutely everything in between....The guide was knowledgeable, well spoken and has personal insights and stories that brought a deeper understanding. The lunch included was very good. A great experience
Highly recommend this tour! There were only 4 of us: myself, my husband and toddler- and a new friend we got to know on the tour. We were driven out in a private car and enjoyed talking with Angeles on the way. Jose Luis had an interesting mix of history and indigenous myths that I loved hearing about throughout the walking tour. We then got on bikes - they even had a toddler chair and tiny helmet for our daughter. We biked to caves and an artisan obsidian shop, with the tour culminating at a restaurant that we really enjoyed. Would I take a toddler on this again? Probably not. It’s a long day in the hot sun. I saw one other toddler at the pyramids and he was also scream-crying. Just a tough excursion for small children in general- no reflection on this tour company. They were patient and accommodating in every way. Oh - we also heard stellar reviews of the hot air balloon tour that this company runs…on our list for next time.
It was incredible and exceeded our expectations. The guide Eloy was friendly, knowledgeable and made the visit enjoyable. The site was organized to allow us to appreciate the work of the Teitihuacanos while protecting the structures.
Seeing the Temple of the Sun from the west. Awe inspiring. Pick was easy and on time. The whole trip went like clockwork. There was only one commercial stop at an obsidian makers shop but all the products were locally made. Guides, drivers and staff were all great. Only one thing, that is not a criticism, you can ride a bike or the van to the cave, store and lunch. We chose the van because we didn’t want to be in the sun anymore (if you aren’t used to the hot Mexican sun, bring an umbrella) but you ride in the van at the same speed as the bikes, so if you are up to it, ride the bike. Meal is a prix fixe; choice of two soups, choice of three chicken or veggie dishes and a small desert. Food was tasty.
I was picked up at the hotel. I met the guide at a location just outside the pyramids. The driver and guide were wonderful. The guide, Luis, was flexible and focused on what interested us. He was extremely knowledgeable and went at our pace. I thought that the experience was terrific.
We bought the all day tour. After 11:45 AM there was a trip to the caves. Why offer cycling to the caves over rough and ugly scenery? Then a Tequila demo (nothing to do with the site). Then lunch which was great. My point is after 11:45 it was filler and unnecessary. Book a tour of just the main site, then head back to Mexico City.
Seeing the pyramids and the remains of this ancient city was the best part. The driver did not introduce himself, nor did he tell us what to expect for the day or even how long the drive would take. Never asked the guests to introduce each other. Our guide at Teotijuaca did not introduce himself or give us an agenda. He gave us minimal information during the visit and answered questions when asked, but never made sure that everyone could hear. When we saw other guided groups we saw enthusiasm and engagement with the group. Not with ours. This is our first Viator excursion Nd it might be our last.
The tour guide was excellent and informative, capable and willing to answer any questions the group.had. in addition to the tour of the pyramids we also went underground to caves as well as to an obsidian workshop. Very informative and interesting trip that does take a majority of your day, but leaves your evening open to explore and have a nice dinner/drinks. Highly recommended!
A very good tour of Teotihuacan with a marvelous guide. Pick up was exactly on time in a comfortable vehicle. The guide was engaging and could answer difficult questions. The guide included many demonstrations of the culture past and present in his tour. Tour included a water bottle, some candies, and a tote bag. Lunch was fine, but not fantastic.
This was one of the best tours I have taken anywhere in the world. Ramon was a fantastic guide. It was a unique way to see the pyramids, arriving by bike, touring the monuments, and then bicycling around the perimeter of the archaeological park. We also stopped at some sites that aren't part of the normal tours where you could see other unique parts of Teotihuacan. Amazing experience overall.
This trip was fabulous! It was well organized and our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and also fun to spend a day with. It felt really authentic and we enjoyed biking around to see everything and get a better glimpse of the area rather than going on a tour bus.
The tour was amazing, the guide Eloy was fantastic, he had brilliant knowledge of the Teotihuacan people, I especially enjoyed the tour of the caves and I would really recommend the tour.
I would highly recommend them. Communication was easy. This was a relief as you are not a local and you are concerned about logistics. They were able to accommodate picking us and the rest of the party from 2 different locations. The driver was so nice. Once we get there, you get a litle backpack with water and a snack. Our tour guide, Jorge, was amazing. He is a local and has so much knowledge. You can tell the respect he has for his community. The cave tour was great too, make sure your phone is charge in case you need to use your phone light. The artisan family we visit was nice. Make sure you have enough pesos to spend. They accept card as well. You get to taste pulque, tequila, mezcal, some mermelade made our the fruit of the nopal, and a spice salsa, so tasty! You get to have lunch at a restaurant which is covered by your tour fee . It was nice, food was great for the meat eaters. For the vegetarian ones, food was ok. You have to pay for drinks though. Finally, you get dropped off at your hotel. I would do this tour again with this company!
Very well organized. The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable and the driver was very nice too and attentive. I recommend the bike tour, riding around town was cool and the views from the pyramids from afar was great. The buffet was delicious. I will come back to bring my wife next time.
Guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the site. He could answer any question thrown at him.
Fantastic tour. Our guide Eloy was knowledgeable and passionate about mesoamerican history, which made the experience far more interesting and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
The Feathered Serpent Pyramid was a real highlight, but the whole area was fascinating. Our guide Ramon is a native of the town Teotihuacán born and raised, he knew everyone and was thorough with the tour. The bikes were in good shape and the included meal was better than expected. I would recommend this trip. I studied up on the area deeply in advance so I could understand the history and phenomena of the area.
This was an amazing experience, our guide was knowledgeable and you could tell he really enjoyed what he did, which shined through on the tour.
Eloy was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever experienced. Knowledgeable, approachable and interesting to talk to. The tour was fantastic and Teotihuacan itself is breathtaking. Office staff and the driver were friendly and the whole thing had a community feel to it. The bike tour was fun and the tour group wasn’t too large which made it a more intimate experience and we got to befriend the others on the tour. There were a lot of options for Teotihuacan excursions and we are very glad we went with this company.
This business is a local family - professional, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Everything worked well during the day. Our guide, Ramon, shared so much history and local culture. The day was very enriching. I highly recommend this tour.
The pyramids were the best part. The cave was somewhat interesting. Luckily the company provided helmets as the cave ceiling was often quite low. The co-op mini-tour was also interesting, but I don't like to be pushed to buy stuff. I especially didn't like the guide's comment to the effect that the husbands should be the ones buying jewelry for their wives. Maybe I want to buy some jewelry for my husband. The final meal was very good. I was glad for the vegan options
Eloy was THE BEST tour guide I’ve had in awhile. He knew what to share, when, but wasn’t thrown by questions.
The tour started with being picked up in the city centre and then meeting 2 other participants at the company’s local office near Teotihuacan. We then walked through the site to see the major pyramids and items. The guide was good, but I felt it was a bit rushed and could have been better explained. For a full day tour I would have expected a bit more details and more parts to have seen. The walk took about one and a half hour. We then walked to the frescoes which were outside and really impressive. Again, other guides have lots of details whereas we only received the basics… Back at the office, we received the bicycles and then cycled around the whole site. No stops apart from the cave and luckily at the Templo de Quetzalcóatl (after having asked for it at the beginning of the tour), which turned out to be a highlight for all (especially since you couldn’t climb any more the other pyramids). Afterwards a joint lunch at a nearby restaurant which was a three course meal (nice personnel but rather basic food) before returning back into the city. Overall a nice tour but could be more enhanced in terms of a full insight into the pyramids (maybe also to include the museum?). I would go again but with a personal guide..
Highly recommend! Eloy was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and local to the area. The restaurant and visit to local artisans shop was a cherry on top. Hotel pick up and drop included made it a very easy, comfortable and enjoyable day trip.
