Teotihuacan Early Access – Small Group, No Tourist Traps

I typically always read reviews prior to booking and reviewed this tour beforehand and booked this based on good reviews. However despite receiving emails our tour was confirmed (and our payment completed) we received no contact from the guide or organization. We waited for almost 2 hours outside the meeting point listed assuming traffic was bad until we called trip advisor and they told us the tour has been cancelled and no one contacted us. Extremely disappointed given we “wasted” such a big part of our day and had planned our schedule around attending the pyramids that day.

Yair was an amazing tour guide, smart, funny, well-informed, polite, and gracious. He is a tribute to your organization and I would not hesitate to recommend him. Our driver, Carlos, has nerves of steel and is hands down a better driver than me--if I had his job (or Yair's), I would spend most of my time crying because I would be nowhere as professional or competent. This was a solid, A+ experience!

Yair was an amazing guide! He was so knowledgeable and up to date with all of the history and fun facts of Teotihuacan! He was kind and engaging, happily answering any additional questions we had. I wanted to put him in my pocket and take him on the rest of our trip in Mexico!

Yair was an excellent guide and was extremely knowledgable, we learnt so much and he was ready to answer any questions anyone had. BRING FOOD!!! The trip was an early start and the only things to buy before the pyramids are potato chips and packets of biscuits, so it is a pretty long day surviving on only these. Would recommend!!

Well organized trip. Our guide Ilsa did a fantastic job with the explanation and history. The driver Noe was efficient and experienced handling the traffic jam on the way back that added an extra hour to the trip ( trucks protest). Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic experience visiting Teotihuacan. The pyramids were absolutely magnificent and even grander in person than any photo could ever capture. It’s truly something you have to see for yourself. We also got to climb the pyramid of the moon and the temple of serpents. Our guide Yair was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. He brought the history of Teotihuacan to life and patiently answered all our curious questions. A big thank you as well to our driver, Omar, for getting us there and back safely and comfortably. They also gave us complimentary bottled water and coffee which was very thoughtful. Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour 👍

We had an amazing experience on our Teotihuacan tour, and a big part of that was our guide, Yair. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, explaining the history of the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Avenue of the Dead, and the Temple of the Feathered Serpent in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. He gave us the context behind what we were seeing, shared great stories, and was patient with all our questions. He also knew the best spots and timing to avoid the crowds. Our driver, Omar, was friendly, punctual, and a safe, careful driver. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and he made the whole trip stress-free from pickup to drop-off. The tour was well organized and the pace was just right, with enough time to explore, climb, and take photos. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico City. Thank you, Yair and Omar!

Great experience visiting and learning about the teotihuacan site. The guide rodolfo was outstanding. Very well organized a d timed tour. I’d highly recommend this. From pickup to drop off it was about 6 hours

The guide was informed, kind, and hilarious. He was able to give us everything we needed from a logistics standpoint, and made us feel safe along the way. The driver was great and on time. If you prefer smaller groups (under 20), I highly recommend using this group.

We had an excellent experience going to Teotihuacán with Experiencias Mexicanas . Yair was our guide and he was excellent: super knowledgeable about Mexican history (very passionate!), great English, friendly, etc.

The tour was as specified in the description. We opted for the morning trip, whereby we did not expect any tourist trap/selling. We were taken to one seller on the site, which was not appreciated. The transport was a large coach and was comfortable, with groups split into sizes of 12 people to one guide. The coffee break was not a coffee shop - they had some drinks at the site but it was mainly trinkets and other merchandise. We expected there to be pastries or bread to eat breakfast. There was no food to purchase apart from potato chips and cookies, so we went hungry. Be advised to eat breakfast before this tour if going in the morning. Our tour guide spoke good English but was lazy and did a long talk outside the sites and then told us to go look for ourselves. From experience, the best tours take you to each important section and discuss what is in front of you. She could've shown us into the palace and to the side of the sun temple. We noticed that the other tour guide, Julius Cesar, gave more detailed explanations to his group and was taking his group to important parts of the site, highlighting interesting features. The duration could've been a bit longer - 3.5hours is probably ideal to be able to see all accessible areas, including the palace at the end. Overall this tour is sufficient but could be better.

Ilse and Julio Caesar were very friendly, informative, and kept a good pace for the entire group. It was a very chilled and well organized experience.

The tour guide (Julius Ceaser was the guide for our sub group of 12) was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had answers to all questions and made the tour really enjoyable. The logistics of the trip were efficient. They gave enough time where necessary but did not waste time at shopping areas too much.

Excellent trip. Guides were as helpful and insightful as they can be. Given the advertised schedule, they stayed true to what was advertised. Overall great experience to see some reminiscences of ancient civilization.

What should you know? Only that you must do this if you’re in CDMX. I’ll add Yair was an exceptional guide. Try to get him if you’re able.

I felt like our guide Yair was very informative. He was able to answer all of our questions and gave us a well informed history of the different cultures. He was very enthusiastic during his talks and clear in his directions so we had no issues returning back to the bus. The entire tour was enjoyable.

The tour was an excellent way to get a LOT of information about Teotihuacan from a really knowledgeable guide. We were considering trying to make our own way there and figure it out ourselves but are very glad that we chose to do it this way instead as we wouldn't have learnt a fraction of what we did. The team - Omar, Rodolfo and Yair were brilliant - we had Yair as our main guide and he was full of enthusiasm and information about the site, answered all of our many many questions and his passion clearly showed that this isn't "just a job" but that he is truly interested in the site and learning more about all of the developments and new information that is being discovered. Thank you very much to all the team, we had a great time and appreciate all your efforts!

Rodolfo was so incredibly knowledgeable and his archeological knowledge was far more than I had expected. He was not just parroting myths or speculations about the site but instead talked about all the latest archaeological findings and explanations.

Shout out to Yair, Rodolfo and Oscar! I had the pleasure of touring with Rodolfo and it was the most informative tour I’ve ever taken, he had a background in studying anthropology and was clearly very knowledgeable about the history. Everything else was perfect, timing was punctual and everyone along the way was friendly - would definitely come back/recommend

My five friends and I enjoyed every minute. The price was also fine. The team of guides was excellent! Julio Cesar explained lots of details with passion and enthusiasm, and spoke English very well! Even though one of my friend was not feeling well, Julio came back to meet us and asked if she needed some help, really full of attention. Our tour guide in English was Ruben, who was the most knowledgeable, passionate and kind guide we’ve ever had in any of our trips worldwide. He and our driver Ariel, made this experience much better than anticipated!

If you are considering booking this tour, do it! Multiple easy places for pick up in the city. And bus is nice. The early day outing is a great time to visit Teotihuacan, and our guide Yair was very knowledgeable. Amazed by how much he shared never needing to look at any notes. Nice smaller sized group made it easier to hear or get around. There was plenty of time to see everything, including climbing up two of the pyramids.

Yair was a great guide! Really great story teller about the history and culture. Even though we went on tour bus, we split into smaller groups of about 17 in our group. Don’t worry about the pickup location, they reach out day before to ask which location you want to be picked up at. The trip back had issues with bus and unexpected traffic due to protests and road closures so allow plenty of time after if you plan something.

Visiting the pyramids of Teotihuacan was a such a wonderful experience. The cost of the admission fee was very reasonable for two people. The length of the tour was perfect. Thanks to Yair and Ruben, our tour guides, the tour was exceptionally enjoyable. They shared some interesting information along the tour. The atmosphere was pleasant, lots of wind, sunshine and walking. The crowd was reasonable, large enough to be able to hear our tour guides. I will say that this was on of the best tours of the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. Highly recommend! Last but not least, our driver, Omar, did a wonderful job and had great music to and from the pyramids.

Absolutely loved this tour! So much history and so much to see. Ilse was a fantastic guide. Time was given at each spot to take photos and look around. Perfect for anyone looking for a half day trip. Group was a little bigger than expected but that didn’t hinder the experience by any means.
