Teotihuacan Balloon Ride (Transportation & Breakfast )

Amazing experience! Only downfall was we were picked up at gas station and taken to the actual balloon place. Overall well worth trying and unforgettable!

The Balloon Ride ended with a horrible crash landing. They had no medical assistance at the balloon sight or at the main office site... In fact, I was told they didn't even have an ice pack. No one asked about me... or checked in. I reported the issue, and I was told, 'Yes, we've reported it', and then she left the desk to go into the back. I contacted trip advisor and sent them the details. Trip Advisor reported back to me that everyone there spoke english, and everyone reported I was fine. No refund, no apology.., nothing.

Such an amazing experience! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic day! The road closures in CDMX caused some delays, so they let us have a private balloon. Our guide was amazing and so was breakfast at the local restaurant!

Very good! can be also dangerous! We had a bad landing due to wind and hurt our knees! Luckily no more sincere injuries! Need to have some first aid and baskets not to be overcrowded as we hit to each other while landing!

Wonderful to have a Birds Eye view of the pyramids. Very well organised experience, with lovely staff taking care of things. We opted for breakfast at the local restaurant which was part of our package. Very nice breakfast, the owner who also looked after us at the balloon depot gave us the history of the pyramids which was very informative

Great balloon ride experience as well as guided visit to the Teotihuacan pyramids, the balloon ride is incredible, it’s a must do activity while visiting CDMX, and the pyramids archeological site is breathtaking, all the history and wonders of this ancient civilization makes you understand Mexican history, culture and heritage, Ruben is a great experienced guide, very knowledgeable and friendly, we loved this tour, highly recommended!

Beautiful early morning views of the pyramids from the sky. Chilly at 5am, so layer up, because it gets warm by mid morning. Pickup at my hotel was easy and the ride from Polanco was about an hour to the "balloon-port". I was flying solo this trip, so it was just me and the driver in his sedan, and the driver spent the entire day "on call", shuttling me to the balloons, on to the restaurant, to the pyramid parking, and ultimately back to my hotel. He wasn't the guide - that was someone else that I met at the balloon-port who actually guided me through the experience, including the walking tour of the pyramids. Lovely balloon time - about 100 balloons in the air on a Saturday morning, so there was a lot going on, but it was really beautiful and you can't beat a sunrise view from the sky. Great overhead view of the historical site and surrounding land. Breakfast at a local place was simple and tasty (I love chilaquiles). Ended up hanging around waiting after my meal for nearly an hour as the guide for the walking tour was waiting for a few more people to come out from the city to meet up. (This waiting is why I only gave 4 stars). Guide handled tickets for the pyramid park, was knowledgeable, and had talking aids like maps and photographs. We spent a couple of hours walking the pyramids: make sure to wear comfortable shoes and expect a lot of walking on gravel and some steep stairs. I was expecting the end to end to be 5-6 hours, but it was tracking to 8+ hours, so I asked to cut my portion a little short to get back into town. (5a pickup, thought i'd be back by 11a, barely made it back by 1p)

We absolutely love this as it is the best way to sew the Pyramids without spening hours walking, especially for those with mobility challenges. We did learn that the transportation option is probably best as 3 Uber drivers canceled on us as fewer drivers were available that early in the morning. Excellent communication from the tour operators!

Great overall experience and ended up being just as advertised. Seeing the whole process of how the balloons are set up to fly and then deflated afterwards was very interesting. The views over the pyramids is truly something to be seen. I would give 5 stars (even 4.5), but I purchased the 5 AM excursion, but was told afterwards that there was no transport available and that I’d have to do the 6 AM. My intention was to be onsite for sunrise however luck was on my side and there was a lot of fog for the 5 AM and it burned off by the time my group went up! 😂 Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I got some wonderful photos.

Wow, where do I start? The food, the tour, the hot air balloon ride! Everything was impeccable! Ruben was a fantastic host, and I definitely recommend Teotours.

Oh man what an experience. Our driver Roberto picked us up early in the morning and drove us to the sight. We met our guide Rueben, he briefed us about the balloon ride and gave us some info about the historical sight! We had coffee, and some pastry and got into our balloon shortly after that. The views were spectacular, truly unforgettable. When we landed our driver Roberto picked us up promptly and drove us into town for breakfast. The restaurant was very cute and the food was so good! We relaxed there and then Rueben showed up to take us around the pyramids! He is such a knowledgeable guide, with great English. He took us all over the sight for maybe, 3hrs! Afterwards we went back to the restaurant and had a beer with him and his wife who owns and cooks for the restaurant. It was so great hanging out with them. They live in that town and it was so wonderful to hear so much history from a person who has grown up right next to the historical sight!!! We loved everything about it. Highly recommend, ballon ride with breakfast and a guided tour!!!!

Had a great experience to Teotiachan with TeoTours MX. We had a private driver Ignacio who was great and attentive. The hot air balloon ride was breathtaking and the on site tour added a lot more context and history. If you want to experience the views and see the pyramids and ruins up close this is a great way to do it.

Everything here was amazing. Tour: our tour is a graduate from the History of UNAM years ago, who researched the bottom of the Pyramid of The Sun in an Archaeology course he took. He grew up in this area and has a passion for his land and its history. Touring with him was a blessing. Ballon: perfect timing, warm vibe, spectacular photography moment. Everything I expected and I was amazed. Private Transportation: we two were picked up by a private car from our hotel and the driver took great care of us. He was with us throughout the tour from the beginning to the end back to our hotel. We felt valued and respected. Breakfast: As a Chinese staying in Mexico for two weeks from Cancun, Tulum, Guanajuato, Saint Miguel to CDMX, I would say I had the best traditional Mexican breakfast here. Can you believe it? It's a personal comment but I guarantee my words.

My boyfriend and I did the hot air balloon excursion and last minute decided to tack on the pyramid tour and had the absolute best day. Transportation was so simple, picked us up from our airbnb and brought right to balloon center. The hot air balloon center was clean, efficient and helpful. The hot air balloon operator and the men on the ground were so kind, funny, and made us feel very safe. The ride was so smooth and stunningly beautiful and i would absolutely recommend this excursion to everyone going to Mexico City!! The pyramid tour after was also fantastic. We were driven from the hot air balloons to breakfast at a very cute restaurant and then dropped at the pyramids w our guide Ruben. He was unbelievably knowledgeable about the pyramids, the history, the art everything. He was the highlight of our day and we learned so much more than we would have if we didn’t have him! He went the extra mile to tell us everything he knew and his passion for this history and his culture was extremely apparent. Ruben was so kind and is local to the area and we got a very authentic view of this part of Mexico. His wife also operates the restaurant we stopped at for breakfast which was so great. Do not skip the guided tour if you love architecture and history! After everything they dropped us right back off at our airbnb! Would 100% highly recommend this entire excursion - it was our favorite day on our trip!!! The trip organizers were also incredibly helpful in changing our reservation and pushing it back a day due to some last minute circumstances and I cannot thank them enough for their help and very speedy communication!!!

The tour guide was amazing, really knowledgeable and polite. I've taken this tour 3 times and this one I can say it is quite a nicer experience thanks to her!

This is highly recommended. It helped that the weather was wonderful but the whole operation ran smoothly and was a fantastic experience.

was great, pick up was a bit difficult and was late, but still arrived on time for to have breakfast and enjoy a balloon ride, the driver allowed us to pick out a restaurant for lunch nearby as well. 10/10 experience overall

This experience is the most complete one that you can find to get on a hot air balloon and also walk around the Teotihuacán pyramids. My friend and I were delighted by the tour. First of all, first thing in the morning, you get to ride the hot air balloon over the pyramids, and after this adventurous experience, they take you to a house to have a delicious breakfast. After having breakfast, you get to visit a craftsmanship market that also includes a short tour of aspects of the culture, such as their precious stones and flora and fauna. Lastly, if you opt for it, you can visit the Teotihuacán pyramids and will be back at CDMX before noon, having the whole afternoon for yourself. We had a blast!

This was such a well organized tour to take. Our driver arrived to our hotel when expected and did a great job of getting us to Teotihuacan and the launch site. He escorted us through all the paperwork, which was very helpful, and showed us where to get some coffee and pastries prior to takeoff. The entire process from getting the balloons inflated, watching them takeoff, and getting us loaded in was seamless, smooth, and wonderful! The views from above Teotihuacan are AMAZING! This is definitely worth doing!

Amazing. Total worth it. Would 100% go again, and with this company. They were professional and felt completely safe. Also very accommodating. Our hotel was not listed on the hotel pick up, but we messages the tour, and they were able to coordinate that. As a non morning person, I will admit I was not happy about it being so early. Dress in LAYERS! It was so cold in the morning! We arrived at the center and they gave us coffee, a snack, a chance to use the toilet as well as the least fun part of the tour, the weigh in. They have to weigh you so that they can evenly distribute the weigh - it is a safety issue. Then, over the balloon. Watching them blow up the balloon was actually really awesome too. Honestly, I guess I never really thought about how they blow them up. Once the balloon was up, your are assigned your area of the basket. Ours had 5 compartments. 4 for the passengers, and 1 for the... I guess we can call him the driver? And then...lift off! It was very smooth. It was much warmer once we were in the air. Weird right? The views were just fantastic. Definitely worth it. After the balloon right, they took us for a breakfast. Breakfast was traditional and very good. They had vegetarian options. We chose the option to do the Teotihuacan pyramids as well, although without a guide. This is where the layers come in handy. It was VERY hot. Luckily we had layers, unlike a lot of our other fellow balloon riders. We did not choose to have a guide, and I think if we were to do it again, I would have liked a guide. Highly recommend!

Really good experience. My only complain is that was too much people in the basket and I could not enjoy the most of the flight and/or the view.

This was the most amazing thing we have done in quite some time! Yes, it’s an EARLY morning pick up …. But it is so worth it. You arrive in the dark and check in. Coffee and light snack is provided. Then as the sun starts to rise you begin to see a huge field of hot air balloons being prepped. Soaring above the temples is breathtaking! Following the ride you are provided a wonderful breakfast. You do have the option of extending your stay and walking through the temple area for an addition three hours.

Absolutely perfect way to spend the morning. Our driver & we were both early to the pickup spot, the car was very comfy, I napped the whole 45 minutes! Check in was easy, coffee & tea provided while we watched the huge balloons get blown up - fascinating process. A few photos & we got helped into the baskets & took off. What a thrill! Our captain was the best & had a music Playlist compiled from suggestions of passengers on Spotify - a little Queen in the morning made us all smile! The views of the pyramids were exceptional. Floating beside them & above them gave us a unique perspective. We were prepared for the bumpy landing & watched the balloon deflate & go back in its bag. Amazing. Afterwards we went to a buffet breakfast with fresh omelets, lots of fruit, salads & sweets. Yummy. The drive back to CDMX took longer due to traffic but there was lots to see on the way. Ignacio was a great driver & guide. Thanks for a terrific experience. Highly recommend!

Although this wasn't our first option as it was $100 more expensive, we had a great time! Our driver came on time and met us at the pickup point. We were able to get some fruits and coffee upon arrival and waited until around 7 am for our turn to get into the hot air balloon. I wish we were able to get on earlier as we missed the sunrise but the view was still amazing!

Definitely recommend this experience and tour company. The process was smooth and the tour guide was very responsive and helpful with my questions before the event. Our driver Ignacio was very professional and made sure we were always in the right place once we were at the launching site. The balloon ride itself exceeded expectations. Some members of our group were a little nervous before, but during the ride they said how much they were enjoying it and how comfortable they felt.

We chose the transportation option, so we were picked up at 5am. The driver took us on a smooth ride to where we needed to be. We were given coffee and light snacks once we got there. There were photo opportunities that some took an advantage of. We got up in the air at the right time and had a great time in the balloon! We felt safe and warm from the heat from the flame. It was our first time on a hot air balloon and we enjoyed our time! Afterwards, we were driven to another place where we received our meal. Overall, we had a delightful experience, and everyone we encountered was extremely nice! Highly recommend this experience!

The balloon ride itself was incredible! What a gorgeous and peaceful way to get a birds eye view of Teotihuacan and understand how large it is. Our pilot Constantino was extremely competent, enthusiastic and reassuring. The driver was right on time to pick us up from our hotel in the morning, and the van was very comfortable. It was an amazing experience for the whole family. My main complaint about this experience is that it was not the most efficient use of our time. We waited approximately 20 minutes once we arrived at the site from which the balloon departed before we went to the balloon. Then we had to wait 30 minutes once we landed for the crew to load the balloon onto the truck and trailer to take us back to the original spot. Then we waited around again before going to breakfast at a restaurant, which took a while. So by the time we reached Teotihuacan for a tour of the pyramids, we were already past the time they advertised we would be back at our hotel. And we only had 45 minutes to tour the archeological site before we had to be back and check out of our hotel. But that was 2.5 hours later than the advertised return time. The other weird part of the experience was that the driver told us our package did not include a guide, and that was made clear on the reservation. But he then said his father could be our guide and would start explaining the ruins to us while we had breakfast. He then got into the van with us to go to the ruins without asking if we wanted to hire him. And he never stated a price. So while we probably would have hired him anyways, it was odd that we didn't really have a choice. My family speaks pretty good Spanish, but the plan for the morning was never really made clear to us. It would have been helpful if they had given us an overview of the morning, explained who everyone was and how much time we were going to spend at the various activities. While this part was frustrating, I have nothing but rave reviews for the balloon ride itself.

Overall, it was an exciting day and we’re glad we spent Christmas Day on a hot air balloon ride and exploring the ruins. The issue was around the logistics - I could choose between a 5:30 and a 6am pickup time. I selected 6am, only to arrive at 7am to watch dozens of balloons take off, none of them for us. We waited for 2 hours for our balloon to fly, land and drive back before we could board. Only 2 other balloons took off around the same time, so we missed out on the opportunity to fly with dozens of other balloons in the air. The tour was billed for 3-5 hours, but we were gone for 8. We ate breakfast after the balloon ride at 11am and were starving (bring snacks). When I asked if there was a mistake about having to wait for 2 hours, I was told “ Many people have the idea that they immediately come to board the balloon, and this is not so. The same thing happens at an airport. You arrive even 1 or 2 hours earlier“. So that’s the level of service to expect on this tour. I wish I had selected the 5:30 pickup and had gone with the initial round of balloons, so I would strongly advise this company to simply get ride of the 6am pickup (or make it a 7:30am pickup so we could at least sleep in!)

First of all the meeting area is chaos. There are trying to give you instructions and nobody can hear anything above the music which is blasting from massive speakers into the waiting areas. Secondly. I was pretty much the first person to arrive for my ride and was 100% on time having got up at 4am to get here. Everyone left to get in their balloons. All the people who payed more for videos and photos surprisingly gut on balloons ahead of me. I am now told that the pilot is now almost 2 hour delayed ( not very good for someone who is piloting a balloon to be irresponsible with time keeping. Been waiting an hour and half before they even told me that. I do NOT recommend this place at all there are other tours which i am sure are much more responsible.

This balloon ride was simply amazing! If you don’t have an issue with height, you should do it as it‘s a once in a lifetime experience! They pick you up early in the morning, drive you to the location and there you can see all the balloons already. Very experienced driver, we had sparkling wine during the trip as well. Breakfast was good as well!

Everything I read about this tour ahead of time was bang on -- it is a beautiful, exciting, worthwhile trip! We took the sunrise tour (with coffee before and a great breakfast afterwards) with transportation from Mexico City. Our driver was terrific, our balloon pilot was calm and capable, the ride was serene and the views were stunning. The bubbly at 2000' was a really fun extra! I was also impressed by the ground crew, who worked hard getting the balloons ready in the early morning and tearing down efficiently afterwards -- it's an expensive trip, but being there, it's clear how much there is to do and coordinate. I would recommend this to anyone! If you are on the fence, GO FOR IT. It's worth it!

This was an incredible experience! The drivers were respectful and right on time. Breakfast was delicious. The balloon ride was amazing. This excursion is worth every penny and was the highlight of our trip.

WOW WOW WOW! This was such an amazing tour, like nothing I've ever done. I have visited many ruins throughout Central America, but the uniqueness of this tour was spectacular. The balloon ride was very warm due to the fire, so don't worry too much about being cold. I honestly enjoyed the hot air balloon ride as much as the ruins tour. Our guide took us to a separate back location that had original preserved paintings in excellent condition. This was the highlight of my trip. Highly recommend this tour, make sure to visit the ruins, they are not to be missed!

The driver was friendly, and very helpful. He did not speak English well, but he drove us safely to the location. He did not leave our side until we got on the balloon. The balloon ride was well worth the money. I would not come to Mexico City without taking this trip.

It’s the experience worth your money. We took the second available slot at 07.40 am and we had an amazing time with breathetaking views! The tour operator met us at the place and made a breaf introduction. You can grab some food and souvenirs at the station (we brought our food since it was an early morning and we were not sure about the food availability). We’ll definitely repeat once again!

Tried booking a tour with this company and they ended up ghosting me entirely. Guess I wasn’t worth the cost once I opted for the lower end package.

We really enjoyed our day, balloon ride was super cool, flew over the pyramids at dawn , great views , nice people and professional team for a safe landing and trip back. We enjoyed a quick breakfast after and then on to a guided tour of the pyramids. This was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City.

This was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. Coordination of our adventure was easy and they were always available for questions. Ignacio. our driver was profession, prompt and flexible. He allowed us to change plans day of (skipping the included breakfast) and got us back o the hotel in time for brunch with friends! The balloon ride itself was so peaceful and serene. I have a slight fear of heights and I was at ease (once we were up in the air) enjoying the incredible views of the pyramids and the ruins. Make sure to get there early - do the 5:40a pick up - trust me the sun rise views are just ... amazing.

I have been hot air ballooning twice before but never had an experience like this. Our bus picked us up on time at the pickup location at 5:30am. It was about a 40 minuet drive to the balloons. They supplied us coffee when we got there which was appreciate because of how early this was and because it was very cold (even with a sweater on). Their was fun music playing and tons of hot air balloons already taking off. Our balloon was already set up for us and we jumped in with probably 10 other guests and took off. The sunrise coming through the mountains and fog was breath taking. We went our the pyramids and local town. Our guide was so fun, he went out of his way to take amazing photos of us and crack some jokes. He even popped two bottle of champagne while on the balloon. Everyone on my social media were eating us the video of him popping the bottles. After the ride they took us to eat an authentic Mexican breakfast and teach us about the pyramids. Then brought us to another place to teach us about the agave plants and crystals and sliver that they make locally. There was a really cool store where we bought souvenirs and they took credit cards which was nice. We didnt get back to our drop off till 1 oclock so plan to be on this tour for most of your morning and afternoon. Other bit of advice is to dress really warm for the morning and bring something to change into for when it gets hot in the afternoon, as well as bring cash to tip our three different guides.

It was my cousin's first trip out of the country and this air balloon ride made it spectacular. It's so dreamy and relaxing.

Memorable experience! Above and beyond service. My friend and I had a great time. Our driver Roberto was very friendly and it definitely made the adventure all the easier knowing that he would be the one to drive us to the different locations (balloons, breakfast, back home) and we didn't have to stress about missing a bus or finding an uber. The balloon ride itself was a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing Mexico from this angle was quite memorable. Highly recommend.
