Balloon viewing of pyramids was lovely, early entry to walk the pyramids was a good choice followed by meal afterwards. We booked for 6 and 2 got sick the night before and were unable to attend and we asked for a refund of only their balloon ride costs, pyramid entry tickets and meals and were totally stonewalled with no response after multiple requests. Would not book with this company as I felt it was greatly over priced for the experience-would arrange on your own.
Endless thanks to Justine and Ricardo for an AMAZING day trip from Mexico City to Teotihuacán. The hot air balloon ride was one of the most magical experiences my Mom and I have had so far in our travels. Then, to walk around the site and learn so much from Justine, incredible! We also really appreciated Ricardo ensuring we traveled all around safely. We highly recommend this experience!
Professional; timing accurate; friendly staff. We enjoyed the entire morning. Views spectacular and trip was just as promised.
Howard our guide is very efficient and knowledgeable. And Ricardo our driver is good too. Highly reconnect this tour 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀 Truly, Teotihuacan is amazing!!!
Such a great experience and totally worth it. Our guide, Howard, was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful. He and Carlos (driver) were professional, polite and fun. The combination of balloon ride, historical ruins tour and lunch at a lovely eatery was fantastic. We would highly recommend this to others.
The highlight of our Mexico City was this it's a early morning one but I think it's worth getting up early one day on your holiday, the tour guide and driver both were very good and the best was breakfast
Wonderful in every way. Transportation was perfect, balloon ride was magnificent, Teotihuacan site tour was awesome. Huge thanks to Jacqueline and Fernando and our balloon pilot for providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Etienne Flores was punctual, pleasant and professional. Highly recommended. Made the whole process easy and fun for my family of 5.
The only way to see the pyramids is by hot air balloon, and the only way to get there is in the comfort of private transportation with a friendly driver, and then the guided tour too with our guide - it was the best day out, well worth it, and the whole day ran smoothly. Breakfast was a real treat too.
We had a wonderful trip with Howard, our guide, and Ricardo, our driver. The morning was perfect for our hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacan site. This was followed by a fantastic historical foot tour of Teotihuacan with a knowledgeable Howard and ended at the incredible Templo de Quetzalcóatl. Highly recommend this tour!
Howard was hands down the best tour guide we've ever had! From start to finish, he and his team made sure we were completely taken care of and had everything we needed. What really stood out was Howard’s deep knowledge and passion for the history of the country. he brought every site to life with fascinating stories and insight that we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else. He struck the perfect balance between informative and engaging, and it made the entire experience unforgettable. If you're looking for a guide who’s professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making your trip amazing, Howard is the one. Highly recommend!
A great experience from start to finish - private transportation with friendly driver (Carlos) and tour guide (Aleysia) . It was our first balloon ride and it was fantastic- felt very safe and crew appeared to be very skilled and all local staff were very friendly and welcoming. We are vegetarian and we were fortunate that the local restaurant where we ate breakfast after ballon ride had vegetarian options and had a English speaking staff member that understood our dietary requirements- I think name of the restaurant was as Azteca. I highly recommend the tour operator - Excellent Travel
What a helluva awesome way to celebrate my birthday. Woke up early on July 4th (fair skies, light wind, 59 degrees) for 5am pickup at our hotel. Drove north to balloon launch spot. Met two other couples and we 6 went up w Alejandro in the heavenly balloon trip drifting over the awe inspiring Pyramids of Teotihuacan. Smooth landing, then off thru the whole ruins on foot (they have been beautifully restored) with a fantastic tour guide, Howard Cantellano. Anthropology whiz and lots of great facts and stories about the past civilization and the modern day excavations. He led us through everything we were allowed to enter and his attention to detail made this such an enjoyable trip. Spanish and English or a mix Nice brunch/lunch at a local spot. Great driving by Jimena all day. Inclusive of traffic it’s a good 8 hour day.

Our guide, Howard was amazing! So energic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and kind. Carlos, our driver was safe, sensible and attentive. The actual balloon flight and tour of the site was a once in my lifetime experience, I would 100% recommend!
Howard was the best guide! Super knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Thanks for a great day and thanks for making my birthday so special!
Fantastic experience! Really appreciated the guide, driver & communication. Breathtaking balloon ride, very informative pyramid guided tour and delicious breakfast. TOTALLY worth the cost and rising 45 min. earlier than usual because of a demonstration in our hotel’s neighborhood, which our guides, Howard & Carlis. anticipated and warned us about. 5-STARS!
This was a magical experience everyone should have. We floated above the pyramids with dozens of other balloons and it felt like a dream. Our guide wanted to spend longer at the pyramids than we were interested in, but he was receptive to a slightly shorter stay there. The balloon was the highlight and it was cool to go from flying over the pyramids to being in the ground exploring them. You also go to a buffet restaurant for breakfast that was surprisingly good (a little busy from the balloon and pyramid traffic). We were a group of friends celebrating our 50th birthdays and it could not have been a better way to do it!
Had a fabulous day with Harvey and Ricardo, they picked us,up and off we went. Harvey is very knowledgeable and pleasant. They both helped to make our day even better. I would highly recommend them, they deserve a pay rise!
Floating above the temples at Teotihuacan was an unforgettable, thrilling way to celebrate a birthday! As many hot-air balloons were suspended in the air, including ours, we gazed down on the Teotihuacan temples: the experience was magical. Our guide Howard, arranged for a “Happy Birthday” sign to be waved as we lifted-off: very nice! He took some good photos, too. The visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe was an inspiring experience. The contrasting architectural styles of the Old and New Basilicas gave us a sense of Mexico’s long-ago past, 17th century, and its more recent past, 1970s. I prefer the Old Basilica. We were not able to see the inside of some churches because Mass was being celebrated; but we did see was lovely. ExcellenTravel did a good job: collecting us at our hotel, driving us to the balloon site, driving us to and guiding us around the Teotihuacan archaeological sight, and doing the same at Our Lady of Guadalupe campus, and returning us to our hotel. I recommend this experience.
The balloon flight was spectacular. The pilot incredible. And car driver was also great. Bring water.
My husband and I had an amazing time on this trip!!! Monica and Etienne were so fun and knowledgeable. They were flexible, allowing us to go at our own pace at the different stops. I cannot recommend this excursion enough. I know it is more expensive than some of the other balloon tours but it is worth it as you can really make the excursion your own.
A must do when in Mexico City. Awesome experience for me and my family. Howard (guide) and Carlos (driver) were the best. Very patient especially with my son who has a disability. Thankful for these two for making our experience memorable and stress free.
First class from the balloon flight and then top guiding around the magnificent site from Elizabeth. She knows her stuff and helped the wobbly one of us, up and down the many steps around the pyramids of the sun and moon. Early start mitigated by a good breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Would use this company again.
We had a fantastic day with Etienne. Our tour ran like clockwork and our kids really enjoyed the balloon ride and the tour of Teotihuacan with Marco.
Great morning out and well organized. The balloon trip was magical and Howard gave my wife and I a great history lesson. I liked it so much I would do it again.
David and Jackie were phenomenal guides. Highly recommend the hot air balloon with private guide!!! Picked up in a private car, had a wonderful lunch, and very informational private guide thru all the pyramid sites. Excellent communication and service!!!
The balloon ride was the highlight of our trip. Beautiful views of the pyramids & all the other balloons. Our drivers Carlos & Vanessa were great… on time picking us up, pleasant, helpful, took pictures for us, & made a photo for each of us (5). We ate a later breakfast at 1030, per our request after the private guided tour of Teotihuacan by Eloy (who was incredibly knowledgeable). The pyramids were less crowded because we went before we ate breakfast. The restaurant was Rancho Aztec & the buffet was exceptional with a wide assortment of home made Mexican dishes as well as, eggs, soup, & Mexican sweet rolls. Amazing!
Carlos and Vanessa were truly exceptional guides. Carlos picked us up at our Air BNB promptly and for us to the balloon launch site safely. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered any and all questions we had not just about our excursion but about Mexico in general. He gave us great food, bar and places to Visit recommendations. Vanessa our personal tour guide for the pyramids was also exceptional. She was so enjoyable to spend the morning with walking around the pyramids. She really took her time to explain to us the rich history and culture of it all! We loved spending time with Carlos and Vanessa so much we booked them for the next day to take us to Coyoacán, San Angel and Xochimilco. They took us to breakfast, on a boat ride through the canals and then to the Frida and Diego homes/museums. We plan on booking with them again on our next trip to Mexico City. Truly exceptional service, attention to detail and safety. Mil gracias to Carlos and Vanessa for Making us feel at home.
It was a great experience from the start. The communication before the tour was efficient and they picked us up at the hotel with an experienced driver and comfortable car (you want this if you’re waking up 4am for the ride). When we got there it was a quick process to get to what mattered (the “globo”). The balloon ride was great - and our pilot was clearly experienced. You could tell plenty of balloons going far from the location (“wrong air current” we were told) while we went smoothly to the archeological site with great views all around. Our guide to the archeological site was really knowledgeable and nice (Sergio), we came out of it knowing a bit more of Mexico’s history. By the way, this is a good complement with a visit to the Anthropology Museum. Finally, the restaurant was good and we were really not bothered by all the souvenirs’ peddlers. So yeah, 5 stars.
Fantastic experience. Excellent service. Highly recommend. Very professional driver Etienne. Our tour guide was Eloy. Simply the best. Eloy is extremely knowledgeable and a beautiful human being.
Overall experience was very good. All the promised Iternary points were covered with punctuality. The communication from Ms Mi Tra was precise and without any confusion. Hotel accommodation was good. Point for improvement: since we Indians drink lot of water, the availability of water should not be limited. Oke M S
Wonderful views of the pyramids! The balloon portion went really well. Just the right duration. It was very very cold the morning, but they sell sweaters, scarf, gloves etc there. The guide at the pyramids after was really friendly and knowledgeable.
We were picked up by Edmundo, who was super nice and comforting. Before going on a balloon flight we had coffee and a small snack. Then we headed to the balloon flight where they explained to us everything, we were able to get so many photo opportunities and videos without any issues. Next we were taken to the pyramids of Teotihuacan which was guided by an excellent tour guide named Eloy. He answered all of our questions and comments. He is very knowledgeable on the subject. There we also were able to take plenty of photos and videos whenever we wanted. After that, we went into a dark cave in which we were provided flashlights and a helmet. Once the tour was completed we enjoyed a buffet of Mexican dishes which were delicious, don’t skip out on the conchas! Overall the entire trip was excellent and safe. Will definitely do tours with these guys again when I come back with more friends. THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING US WITH SUCH WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!
We had a phenomenal experience! Our guide and driver picked us up and were very friendly, funny, and informative -- telling us all about the history of different areas. We had an amazing time on the hot air balloon (our first time), exploring the archaeological sights, walking through the cave, and eating the most delicious lunch! We enjoyed every aspect of the tour and learned so much about the culture and history from our tour guides. We didn't have to wait in long lines and overall it was a very safe, personalized, and fun experience. Our tour guide, Elisabeth, was fantastic as was our driver Edmundo! Elisabeth is so knowledgeable about all historic sites throughout Mexico and Edmundo helped make the car drive fun. We had lots of questions and they were always happy to answer, even giving us a longer tour to see and hear more about the sights. We highly recommend this for everyone!
Had a fantastic time with Elizabeth and Edmundo! They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful during the day. The hot air balloon was a great experience. A slight shame that the wind blew us in the other direction from the pyramids, but that can’t be helped. Also it led to some great views of the landscape. The Teotihuacan pyramid was a highlight of our trip to Mexico City. Amazing to see in person and surprisingly the place was not too busy even on a weekend (though we may have just been lucky). Overall highly recommend this tour.
Teotihuacan pyramids are a must-visit! Ginny, our guide gave us a lot of interesting insights on the historic tit-bits. Our driver Ricardo was very friendly . The hot-air balloons didnt offer a great sight from the top, except for the pyramids. Post this, we had our breakfast, and then we visited the archaelogical site , we were in for a treat! We learnt so much in a short span of time. The caves were also interesting, good thinking on their part to provide us helmets , the height of caves was pretty low at some places.
Hot air balloon ride is amazing, we are lucky that the crater has only 3 people so we are able to take alot of amazing pictures. Our guide Jeanie and driver EDmundo are friendly and transport is on time. The best thing about Jeanie is she is knowledgeable and hospitable. She gave us the option to choose whether to go shopping or head back. Overall i highly recommend.
My partner and I had the most awesome time on this tour. Our tour guide Ginny (our Godess) was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Teotihuacan. We first took a fabulous hot air balloon flight over the temples. The ride (and landing) was far smoother than I ever imagined. A spectacular way to see the archaeological zone. And safe! Ginny took us through the temples and gave us a great history lesson. We next explored the caves which was a quite exciting treat. We ended our trip with a “happy hour” learning about the local drinks and did some shopping. Overall a fabulous day and experience that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Mexico City as it’s only a short ride away made quickly and safely by our fun driver Carlito. Simply amazing!
Ginny was a wonderful tour guide and could not have asked for a better experience. Ginny was so knowledgeable and would definitely want her for any other tour as well as our driver.
This tour was excellent - from organizing the pick up to the end of the day, everything was great. Breakfast was delicious, the hot-air balloon ride was fun (and its landing was incredible), the van was comfortable, the team was super kind... everything great, definitely a good value for the money. Would definitely do it again!
My husband and I had the most amazing time on our hot air balloon tour over Teotihuacan, with our fabulous tour guide Ginny and her amazing team, Carlos and Vanessa. The hot air balloon was spectacular on its own, but coupled with the tour of the archeological zone, the delicious breakfast, the visit to the cave, the spontaneous add on of lunch in an underground cave, and the amazing group we had, this tour was unforgettable and I would highly recommend this company, and Ginny and her team! 10s, 10s, 10s across the board!
Hermes provided an exceptional experience! He was very knowledgeable and provided detailed anthropological perspective. He went above and beyond to provided a memorable experience! Would definitely recommend!
Great experience! Ballon flight was awesome ! The tour at Teotihuacan and the cave were awesome Maricel our guide was awesome very knowlegable
The totality of this tour was wonderful. There was a time change for the pick-up and we didn't get the message, but once that was worked out, all was smooth sailing. It was exciting to see the early morning set-up of the balloons and the preparations for take off. The balloon ride itself was amazing. A bucket-list event. Quite impressive! Our guide Elisabeth was knowledgable and she did a great job of explaining the significance of Teotihuacan and navigating us through the entire experience. Highly recommend as a part an unforgettable Mexico City experience.
This was the highlight of our Mexico City trip. Ginny and Carlos were amazing guides. Clear communication re pick up and what to expect from the tour. We visited the places as advertised/listed here. Very knowledgeable walking tour of Teotihuacan. We wanted to add Guadalupe your at extra $ and they were able to accommodate. It was a long day but we had a great time. Ginny helped take amazing photos of our group. I just wish we started earlier (pick up was at 5:30) so we could watch the sunrise while taking off since the sun was already up when we took off.
This was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City! This was our first time on a hot air balloon and it was fantastic. I’m quite scared of heights but the balloon moves so slowly and gently that it wasn’t a problem. I particularly liked this tour because it combines the balloon ride with a cave experience and an excellent guided tour of the pyramids. I highly recommend this tour!
Early am pickup went smoothly with confirmation night before and pickup close to stated time. Everyone couldn't be more friendly and helpful especially taking pictures of our group. Views of temples were spectacular especially with the dozens of other balloons. Tour of the Archaeological zone was very enthusiastic and never felt rushed. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty and filling and the cave tour was fun. Pulque tasting was an added bonus. Just be prepared the weigh-in/sign-in at the balloon venue is a bit jumbled but our lead took good care of us.
Unfortunately this tour was a bit disappointing. I do want to note that the air balloon part was amazing and highly recommend. However, I would leave it at that. Do not go with the extended tour as it was terrible. First you will go to a buffet breakfast which was not the best and probably caused us to be ill. After, you will go to the ruins and spend about an hour there. Of that hour, 40 mins are spent at the 3 stands that the tour guide takes you to to buy the tourist trap souvenirs. (I am not exaggerating on the time spent. At the last souvenir stand I even said “you’ve got to be kidding me “ to the tour guide and he got the hint to leave ASAP). There is barely any history given. After which you are taken to yet another tourist trap spot to buy alcohol / other random products. Overall, the day was tainted by the poor use of our time and lack of history given by Hermes (your guide). I would recommend doing just the hot air balloon as it was one of the best experiences.
