Leonardo, Lily, Álvaro were very knowledgeable and really nice. The drivers Simon and Danny were great. I would definitely book again!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Tlatelolco is a city founded by the Tlatelolcas in 1337A.D. It was located on an islet within Lake Texcoco. All kinds of local merchandise and those from the most remote areas were sold there.
Your first day begins as we drive to Tlatelolco, considered the largest archaeological site in Mexico City. With your guide, learn of the importance of the place which was part of the capital of the Aztec empire. See the Plaza of the Three Cultures where Pre-hispanic, colonial and modern Mexico blend.
The name of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas comes from the fact that the architectural ensembles located around it come from three different historical stages: Mesoamerican, Spanish, and modern Mexican.
Continue the tour towards the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Basilica de Guadalupe). This is the most important religious building in all of Mexico and one of the most visited places in the Catholic world. It receives more than 20 million pilgrims every year.
After visiting the Basilica of Guadalupe, you will continue your tour to Teotihuacan, “City of the Gods.” A professional guide will go with you on a journey through the history of this mystical place. Walk around the ruins and be in awe at the marvelous pyramids and buildings. Go up the famous Sun and Moon Pyramids and take in the incredible views from the top. Note: The date you choose upon booking is for the Teotihuacan and Guadalupe Shrine tour. The Xochimilco and Frida Kahlo tour is taken the following day we remind you Mondays Frida Kahlo museum is not open. Due to COVID restrictions, some areas of Teotihuacán may be closed.
This famous pyramid, located in the ancient city of Teotihuacán, is one of the largest in the world.
Teotihuacán, Place where the gods were made, is the name given to what was one of the largest cities in Mesoamerica during pre-Hispanic times.
Day 2
2
Your second day starts heading to Coyoacán, which dates back to pre-Hispanic times. See the cobblestone streets and picturesque houses and then visit Casa Azul (Blue House), or the Frida Kahlo Museum to learn all about the life and iconic artwork of this famous artist.
The house is where Frida Kahlo lived with her husband, Diego Rivera. You'll have an hour of free time in the museum to explore it as much as possible.
The famous canals of Xochimilco, the last remnants of the extensive transportation system created by the Aztecs, are located in the south of Mexico City, next to the beautiful and colorful neighborhood of Xochimilco.
Your tour continues to Xochimilco, located 17 miles (28 km) south of Mexico City. It is an ecological reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site which was a lake during Aztec times. You'll ride on a colorful boat called trajinera for an hour as you hear festive music from other boats and see vendors selling delicious snacks which you can buy (not included).
You'll then stop at the National Autonomous University which was built in 1551 and where you'll see the UNESCO-listed Central Campus with art from muralists Diego Rivera and Juan O'Gorman.

This tour was fantastic! Alexa gave the tour in English, and she was phenomenal. She explained everything clearly and succinctly, and she has such a vivid presence and personality that she really made the history come alive. Highly recommend!!
The only things worth doing are the teotihuacan pyramids and the frida kahlo museum. which i suggest you do it yourself (especially coyocan). xochimilco is kind of a tourist trap with people constantly pushing to ask you to buy things. a lot of time spent on the bus, and food was kind of meh. the rest of the history lesson you can learn online.
Wonderful experience!! Thanks to Alexa and Lily and our driver Juan that took us and brought us back safely.
Great outing, highly recommend. Guides Lily and Hector were excellent. Driver Juan very helpful and a true gentleman.
We had a wonderful time with Alexa and Hector. They made the tour easy to understand and provided insight from the perspective of the indigenous people of the time up until the modern era. Amigo tours provided both English and Spanish translators and Alexa and Hector did a wonderful job translating everything in a professional manner. This was my husband's birthday, it was always his dream to visit the Pyramids and Amigo Tours made it a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we highly recommend Amigo Tours to everyone seeking a unique and personalized experience.
Wonderful experience with an excellent guide in Alissa. Also an excellent driver. Very informative on the history and precise in her instructions. It was a lovely day.
Great tour of Mexico City, well organized, I particularly liked Teotihuacan and Frida Kahlo's home. Great 2 day tour.
The tour itself was very good and the price was great for two days. The buses were nice and the guide Miriam was wonderful! We especially loved the day at UNAM, Frida house and Xochimilco. The only downside was the absolutely chaotic check-in process in the morning. Both days it was so disorganized and they didn’t have us on their lists even though we booked weeks in advance and recd several confirmation messages. Because the morning was such a mess it really delayed the start of the tour by at least an hour and a half.
Great experience with Lilly, Alan, and Felix. They gave a great experience and shared a lot of knowledge. Overall very professional and wonderful
Nice guide (Alicia), sites worth visiting (mainly Teotihuacan), but the group is so large you feel like you’re being herded. Sometimes it’s easy to miss (or misunderstand) instructions that are hard to hear either because the audio system on the bus isn’t great, or because we’re outside and there are just a lot of people. It was also hard to follow the guide in the more crowded areas. I was surprised they didn’t use any sort of flag or something that we could more easily see. The tour apparently had a lunch option, but I didn’t see anything about that when I booked, so we ended up having to eat separate from the group in a rather expensive touristy restaurant. To be fair it was actually pretty good, but I don’t understand how to get the lunch option. Oh, also there’s some confusion/discrepancy between meeting times in the updates they send you vs what’s on the actual ticket (in the how to get there section). And a lot of the updates they send you contain gibberish (encoded URLs). I don’t know if this is a machine translation issue between systems, but it feels like they don’t actually test the end to end customer experience (or don’t care). And I was a bit surprised that the tour left the meeting spot 10 minutes BEFORE the scheduled departure time. It wasn’t a big deal, but it meant we didn’t have time to grab a bite to eat first, even after waiting in line at the cafe for 10 minutes. Overall I think they could smooth out a few details. Which was also my reaction to a tour from this company in England.
Very memorable. Nice bus, good guides, good drivers. Pleasant experience. Suggestion: Tell your guides to speak slow, so everybody can understand, because eccentric is different and if they speak fast, we find it somewhat difficult to understand them. Some of the spots were not good enough for international tourist, so you can omit them for better places. .
GIO was great. Nice comfortable pace and explanations of the subject matter. Gave us enough time to enjoy the visit and buy what we needed.
Leonardo and Fernanda plus driver Felix were very friendly informative and professional . Learned lots I did not know.
A wonderful two days, and you'll learn a lot. The guides are well-prepared, very knowledgeable, and eager to share information not only about what you're seeing.
Traveled with my elderly parents and it was a nice walking pace. My dad enjoyed the history explanation. As Mexicans, we thought the restaurant food lacked a bit of authentic flavor. But we get it. They're catering to non-mexican tourist. We appreciated the service. The tour guides were excellent, bilingual (English/Spanish), approachable and knowledgeable. Main reason I booked this trip was because the Frida Kahlo tickets were sold out on the museum's website and this 2- day package included tickets to Frida. Again, the overall experience was a great!
Gerson and Caesar were fantastic! Enjoyed the trip very much, would recommend. Very full day packed full of adventure!
This activity was offered at a good pace. Our tour guide, Alexa, was very knowledgeable, and our driver was quite adaptable to driving and navigating the roads. I felt safe and taken care of as a solo female tourist.
This tour was 2 full days approximately 8-5pm. Our first day was with Lily, our second with Carlos. Both tour guides and their respective drivers were great! The busses were super clean and had bathrooms. Carlos was a great story teller. One recommendation would be to show short video clips while on the bus about what we would see on the way to each stop. Another recommendation is update the second day ticket to start at 8am, we just happened to arrive as our group was loading on the bus because our ticket said to arrive at 8:20, which was the meeting time of the first day. Lunch was later both days around 2/3pm and overpriced for Mexico, so plan on snacking along the way. All in all, we saw so many amazing things during this two day tour and felt it was worth it!
Great tour. Highly recommend. Yair was very attntive and narrated the destinations very well. Highly recommended 👌
This 2 day tour was amazing. It was an awesome way to see the city. On day 1 for the Teotihuacan leg - we had Lily and Alexa as our guides and Javier as our driver. Lily was so passionate about the knowledge she was sharing and it made the tour so informative and immersive. On day 2 for the Xochimilco leg - we had Yair and Mario as our guides and Pedro as our driver. Yaier had such great energy and made sure everyone on the tour was having fun. Overall, the tours were both extremely well organized and fun. The bus was very comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to take tour route to do it, especially as a first time visitor to CDMX.
Alice and Gerson were above and beyond oir expectations, they were puntual, polite and well informed, always ready to help is and/or answer any quesitons.
I enjoyed my tour in TEOTIHUACAN and Guadalupe Shrine with Alicia and Alexi. Our English Guide Alicia did a fantastic job in making the tour more interesting by choosing 2 male participants in our group to re enact the story between Cortez and Cuauhtémoc . She is very knowledgeable and thorough. On Day 2, our guides were Yair and Mario who also did a fantastic job in managing our huge group. Our English guide Yair shared his extensive knowledge about the places we visited, spared no questions unanswered and ensured that everyone enjoyed the tour
Alexa was a great guide at Teotihuacán. She was very knowledgeable and kept the tour fun. Giovanna and Jair were great on day 2 at Xochimilco and Frida Kahlo museum.
Overall a great experience. The second day with Coyocan, Frida Kahol museum and Xochimilco was outstanding. Guides for this day were excellent (Mario, Yayur(?) and our driver Carlos). Pacing of the day and all of the information they shared were great. First day was with pyramids, and basilica of Guadeloupe. Our guide Alexa was good but not nearly as engaging as the guides the second day. The trip to Rafael’s shop the second day was actually quite enjoyable. Restaurants were fine but I would have preferred more choice. Like free time in Coyocan to eat along with our stop there rather than stopping at the restaurant.
Ruben was a knowledgeable and energetic guide. He educated us on all the highlights. Very enjoyable day. Excellent choice of restaurants too
Every one was amazing, sweet, kind and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour! I did this tour with my husband and five yr old son.
Lily and jair were amazing guides going to Frida kahlo museum and at the lake in Mexico city, and Salvador and jovanni were absolutely amazing, they were funny nice, entertaining and nice to be around.
Our tour guides Diana and Yair were exceptional and very informative. They made the tour very enjoyable. Hope to see them both on our next tour
I don't recommend this company nor this event. The guide took us to a silver jewelry store and we ended up waisting a lot of time there. Then we were not offered food at Xochimilco by the food vendors because this company has an agreement with a restaurant. After Xochimilco we were all very hungry on our way to the restaurant. Unfortunately, we never got to the restaurant, nor to Coyoacan because we were so behind schedule due to the silver jewelry store stop. We were in the bus for about 3 hours stuck in traffic. We arrived near the Frida Kahlo museum very late and all scrambled to get a quick bite to eat nearby. The guide told all of us to meet at the Frida Kahlo museum in 30 minutes. When we all met up at the Frida Kahlo museum the guide told my friend and other group members that their tickets didn't include the Frida Kahlo museum. I went in alone and felt horrible for my friend and the other group members. All were taken by surprise and were extremely upset to realize that their purchase didn't include the Frida Kahlo museum. They had bought their tickets somewhere else, not on tripadvisor. The whole thing felt so awkward and it was so uncomfortable to come out of the museum and see my friend standing outside waiting for me. 💔
Incredible tour by Alan— he’s super knowledgeable, great energy and did a fantastic job keeping the large group together. I’d take a tour with him and Gonzalo any day! Will flag that when when we arrived, Jackie (the other tour guide) was super rude and made us feel unwelcome while we were waiting for the bus.
Miriam is a good tour, she is very patient and out going. She explained very detail and made me satisfaction.
The first day was incredible. Diana was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job, especially at Teotihuacán. It was a true learning experience for me and the kids! The second day was OK. We spent too long at a silver shop, but the visit to the university murals, Xochimilco, and the Frida Kahlo museum was fun.
On the first day we visited Teotihuacán, the Plaza of 3 Cultures and the Basilica. Our guide Salvador was so knowledgeable and professional. It made the experience very enjoyable. The second day we went to Xochimilco, Coyoacán and Frida’s house. Héctor and Mario were excellent guides. However on both days there were stops at retailers that took up time that could have been spent at the destinations where we actually wanted to go. I don’t want to be forced to participate in a presentation that feels like we are just being targeted to make a purchase.
I can’t recommend this excursion enough! It is the absolute best bang for your buck. You will see all of the must sees when visiting Mexico City with transportation and admission to things included. The tour guides were extremely friendly and did a GREAT job teaching us all we needed to know in both English and Spanish. A special shoutout to Alexa and Leonardo who were both so passionate about their country and willing to answer any questions. If you’re looking at an excursion for Mexico City this is the one!
Alexa was an absolute amazing and extremely knowledgeable English translating tour guide. She scheduled sites in order and everything made sense. She was friendly enough to give us recommendations for the rest of our trip. Only down side was that she wasn’t our tour guide for day two. Thanks Alexa!!
When I initially saw this tour I immediately thought wow all this already done for me! it was perfectly planned out for those who like both to visit historical areas and also informative! My favorite parts were Xochimilco and Teotihuacán but there are many other cool parts to this tour that was super interesting and cool to experience as it was my first time in Mexico City. Special thanks to the amazing tour guides: ALEXA Y CHRISTIAN (6/17), LEONARDO Y ALEJANDRO (6/18)! They were amazing so kind and provided so much great information! truly appreciate their guidance in this amazing 2 day tour! THANK YOU!!! I WILL BE BACK TO MEXICO CITY VERY SOON!
Our guides Hector, Emmanuel, and Alan did a great job of guiding and educating us on our 2 day tour. They were very fun and knowledgeable. We had a great time. I do recommend to eat a big breakfast and take snacks/water with you. Lunch time was a 2. Take sunscreen, hat and sunglasses if possible.
Everything was memorable. The tour guys where really good in every aspect of the tour. They explained in detail the history of every place we visited and made it entertaining.
Héctor and Alicia went above and beyond of our expectation. They were very friendly and professionals. Muchas Gracias
Excellent tour. Great value for money. Hector was very knowledgeable and explained the history very well. The tour was planned very well and time spent at every destination was sufficient
Where to start with Amigo Tours... First off their business model seems to be to buy as many tickets to the Frida Kahlo Museum as possible so there's very few for people looking to go on their own. If you notice the Museum is booked up very far in advance and I suspect it's because this company hoards them. Frida was an activist and women of the people I bet she would be so ashamed that her museum is doing this. Almost everyone on our tour was only there for the Frida museum and I suspect like us, it was only because tickets to the general public were sold out-again because this company buys them in hoards. First stop on this tour was a silver shop which was an obvious cash grab. Pretty clearly Amigo either also owned the silver shop or was getting kick backs from purchases. I don't really appreciate paying for a tour then getting strung along like that. Guide did provide some useful info and was kind. But while waiting for the Frida museum to let us know when we could arrived we were taken to a college and walked around. This completely uninteresting and was clearly a way for them to kill time. I would say avoid Amigo Tours (and please do) but they do a pretty good job of monopolizing the tour industry in Mexico City. Just book your Frida Kahlo tours in advance so you don't have to spend 10 hrs sitting through their tour and only 1 of those hrs is in the actual museum.
They have to rearrange when to visit Teotihuacán, we were there after lunch aroun 2:30 it was so hot we couldn’t even walk around so are other couples Second day day spent an hour in a jewelry store which was waste of time, Xochimilco was wonderful, then we stopped at a fish rests, there wasn’t any other restaurant around , so we had to eat there, resulted with the food poisoning. Because of wasted time on traffic and jewelry store we only had 15 min in Coyoacán and finished with Kahlo’s house which was good
It was my family first time in CDMX. These 2-day tours were great to visit the all major parts of the city. We learned a lot regarding the history of CDMX and we were able to enjoy all the beautiful sites from Teotihuacan, Xochimilco, Coyoacán. This is a great tour to see Frida Khalo’s Casa Azul. If you’re visiting CDMX for the first time, it’s worth get these tours. Thank you Chris, Alazar, Diana for being some amazing tour guides.
Adoré les pyramides. Alexa is a great guide. Very full and complete two days in Mexico city. Would recommand.
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. Could not make the tour and needed to cancel for personal reasons. I arrived in Mexico City after the 24 hour cancellation period and called to cancel. The tour guide showed up to the hotel and I said I wanted to cancel, which she said that was okay, after she made a call to her office. I was still on the hook for paying for the full amount for a private tour, which cost more than my flight alone. I was on the phone with them and my credit card company for hours and still had to pay the full amount, even though I didn’t partake in the tour. Super frustrating experience and won’t be recommending this company to any of my friends and family.
I wish I could say I enjoyed this experience, but that would be dishonest. First off, the tour is way too large. I didn’t notice this until we got to the Guadalupe shrine where the streets are very crowded. Standing outside in the hot sun waiting for the big coach bus to arrive, while hundreds of people passed by on the tiny sidewalk was not fun at all. Moving around with such a large group of people gets confusing and frustrating. Furthermore, there wasn’t much intimacy and it was easy to get distracted when the guides were sharing information. I also found some points of the tour to lack enough guidance/info. For example, we were pretty much on our own at the Guadalupe shrine. I could’ve done without visiting there, as I didn’t get much out of it. The pyramids were cool, but after a few minutes, it’s boring. We opted for the buffet at the restaurant near the pyramids, which was not very tasty. I also think the alcohol tasting at this same restaurant (during the agave plant demonstration) made me sick. Overall, I wish I had chosen a smaller tour to visit these sites in the city.
This was a really fun trip and our guide and driver were wonderful. The process of waiting and then getting into the Blue House museum is the only down side but so think that’s part of the museum’s process—not a reflection on the tour guides. The boat cruise os the star—if you have time go!
I enjoyed this Amigo run tour and the English speaking guide Ernesto and driver Thomas were great. The food wasn't particularly good at the buffet stop ( stick with the buffet as they do offer other fish) but the bartender gave me a parting delicious shot of Mezcal, a top brand, as a courtesy since I pestered and asked . The driver Thomas excelled at getting us out of a tough spot when a pop up protest - Free Nadia- roped off the highway and we sat for 25 plus minutes no end in sight. 2 brave spanish speaking women got off to brave subways as they were going to miss their flight! Thomas spoke with the activist leader who eventually agreed to let our bus pass. The girls had disappeared but we got home. I’d say frankly in Mexico City there are so many popup protests that block roads, totally, for hours - you better not plan any tours on your departure day. But do plan this one and enjoy every aspect of Mexican culuture.
We had Cristian for both days of the tour, he is very knowledgeable but his English could be better. The visits to the sites (aside from the stores along the way), are well timed, except for lunch. Most Americans eat lunch around noon and they wouldn't get to the lunch spots until 2-2:30pm. Speaking of the lunch spots, both of them, in Teotihuacan and near Xochimilco, were pure cash grabs. There is no need to have a $1,000 pesos lunch for 2 in Mexico City, unless you are going to a high end restaurant which these were not. The shopping spots you are forced to go to should be well advertised on the tour description, they are not. It is a very convenient way to see sites that are not easy to get to, when you stay downtown, but they need some improvements.
