We really enjoyed the tours with Mariana. Both tours were pleasant surprises! She does her research and provided really good information without being overwhelming. She is natural, very pleasant, answered our questions again and again (haha), and adapted to our pace and style seemlessly. We really appreciated her. We had lunch at a really nice restaurant. The transport was great; she’s a very experienced driver. Would love to do more tours with her in the future!

Frank did an outstanding job on our day-long tour to the Teotihuacan Pyramids and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He arrived before our start time and made a stop for us on our way to the pyramids. He did a great job explaining the history of the pyramids and took us to the pyramid museum to further our understanding. We also visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe to enjoy the beauty and history of the church. It was a great day for us thanks to Frank.
We are a family of 4 (kids 10 and 16), we stayed 10 days in CDMX and hired Mariana 2 of these days. On the first day, she drove us to the Casa Azul, then took us around Coyoacan, also to the Anahuacalli museum and Cuemanco. On the second day, she took us to Teothihuacan and the Basilica of Guadalupe. She is very knowledgeable. She is great if you want to know more about archeology, the Mexican culture and history. She is very passionate. We really enjoyed these 2 days with Mariana as she shared lots of insights and we felt that she was attuned to our needs. Also, her van is very comfortable! We highly recommend her!
This tour was unforgettable. We loved walking around the majestic pyramids of Teotihuacan, and our guide shared so many fascinating details about the ancient civilization. The visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe was equally special, with its beautiful architecture and important religious significance.
I booked directly with them over email and communication was ok. In the email they said 8am pickup but the night before they messaged me to confirm the tour, and said 7am. Honestly I was happy we went earlier and beat some of the crowds because it gets pretty crowded. Pepe was the driver and guide and he did a fantastic job! We made great conversation throughout the long day and he kept it interesting and fun. It was supposed to be me and my wife taking the tour but she got a little sick the night before and opted to stay at the hotel, so it was just me. I asked Pepe if we can do a shorter day so I could be back earlier in the day and help out my wife, and he was happy to oblige. We skipped the morning stops (like the cafe and the church) and went straight to the pyramids. we got there a few mins before they opened so we had to wait a little. we almost had the place to ourselves at first, which was really nice. that early in the morning you can see the hot air balloons as well! Pepe gave a lot of fascinating history lessons as we walked around. By the time we got to the main pyramid, it was already very crowded. There is a free bathroom you can use at the entrance. Afterwards, I called my wife to check in on her and she was feeling much better, so I opted to complete the original planned tour by visiting the basilica. Instead of doing the touristy food stop I asked Pepe if we could eat somewhere more local. It was a weekend and that's when taco places offer barbacoa, so i asked him to stop somewhere for that, and he did! We stopped at a very simple family run pop-up shack with a firepit going and kids helping out. I braved the barbacoa and consomme and thought it was some of the best I had in mexico. No regrets. I was worried I'd get poisoning from the cilantro or onion but I was fine. We then drove an hour or so to the basilica. Wow! The church area is fascinating with many surrounding churches and a lovely park with fountains. It was super crowded though, and this part felt a little rushed. There is a paid bathroom here you can use. I would have easily stayed here an hour longer walking slowly through each church. We ended up back at the hotel around 4:20pm. Pepe was also nice enough to recommend churro places near the hotel for me to try when i messaged him about it over whatsapp. Definitely bring sunscreen and a hat, I got pretty badly burned.
We were very satisfied with our guide, Francesco. He picked us up early from our hotel, and drove to the pyramids. He offered to stop at various times for bathroom breaks and purchasing water. Although we knew absolutely no spanish, he was well versed in English. He was very knowledgable about the history of the ruins, the pyramids. We spent almost 4 hours out there. We all had lunch together which was nice. We then drove to the Basilica. He gave a good history of the church and showed us all the pathways to walk, how to see the frame of Mary's picture. He allowed us time to pray and self reflect in the Basilica. He then drove us directly back to our hotel. This is a great one- on-one excursion, that allows you to have the sole attention of the guide. It went along at our pace. I wouldn't have changed anything with this tour.
Mariana is the best! She picked us up at our hotels and drove us all the way to the pyramids. At the pyramids, she shared her deep knowledge of the history in perfect English. We were amazed by all the stories and facts she shared and truly learned so much. She then took us to a restaurant where we had made a reservation for lunch. 100% recommend
Our guide was knowledgeable and kept us engaged the entire trip. I have been on many tours in many places, and this tour was one of the best. The sites were incredible, but our guide, Ramon and driver Lorena, made it unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent day wonderful informative guide who is passionate about the heritage and history of Mexico.
Mariana was amazing! Her communication was perfect and she created a great bond with our three year old daughter. We really appreciated all the insights and knowledge she had for the sites we visited as well as Mexico City as a whole. We will be back and we will rely on Tepkan in the future! Oh and the local food she took us to try in Axapusca was by far the best meal of the trip!
Excellent tour of Teotihuacan . Pepe, our guide, made the experience even more memorable with his extensive knowledge.
Our guide Frank was a great teacher and guide, we really enjoyed our time and his expertise! Car was clean and comfortable.
This tour was amazing! It was even better than I expected. Our tour leader was Fermin and he was a wealth of information. He was friendly, knowledgable, and genuinely passionate about the sites. I felt like I learned so much, and was able to better understand the time period the pyramids were built. I would recommend this tour company again and again. I only wish that we had more time in Mexico City so we could explore more with Tekpan tours.
2 main attractions we wanted to see. Our tour guide Frank was awesome, very patient, knowledgeable and accommodating of our needs - our private tour exceeded our expectations.
Our group visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We went to mass and toured around the area. It was absolutely amazing. Very moving experience. June and the driver were very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend using them again.
We had a wonderful tour of the Basilica. Our guide was fantastic. This company makes plans easily and follows through perfectly. They were easy to deal with, affordable, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely use them when I return to the city for another tour.
Both places are so magical. They are amazing and I'm always on awe each time I go. Please wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunblock. The sun is not joke.
First time going and it was an amazing feeling. Jose, our tour guide , was phenomenal. He went above and beyond. He spoke both spanish and English. He is full of knowledge and made the experience unforgettable!!
Mariana is an excellent guide. Passionate about what she does and proud of her roots, history and culture. That's what he transmits on each of his excursions. He gives confidence and is very accommodating. Makes your excursions entertaining and interesting. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit and know Mexico.
Unbeatable service. Andrés is a very trained and professional guide. Mariana was in charge of organizing it, very friendly and easy to contact at all times. We had a great day. Highly recommended.
