Excellent tour! Hector (our guide) was very helpful explaining things. We were a group of 5 and I was the only non-Spanish speaker. I felt bad he had to re-translate everything but he didn’t mind. The lunch was excellent — a choice between 2 three course menus. It was after the artisan craft visit — not pressured to buy but I did buy something to support the local economic my and remember this trip. The van provided had seatbelts, although I was the only one who used them. The driver was very careful, which I appreciated. I don’t have any drawbacks to this tour, unless there are specific things you would rather see. It’s incredible value for money since lunch is included. I’m you’re hesitating, book this one!

Our guide, Abner, was very knowledgeable about the pyramids and the Basilica of Guadalupe. It was great to learn all about the history and other details we never would've learned on our own. Abner and our driver always made sure we stayed on schedule, where to meet up when we had time on our own and made sure to answer any and all questions. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat to protect from the sun and remember your sunscreen. Lunch was good a filling. Highly recommend!
The three of us had an excellent time - our guide, Teresa, was very knowledgeable and spoke fluently in both English and Spanish. We saw far more than expected from the itinerary especially at the pyramids and the complex of churches at the Guadalupe shrine. The buffet lunch was excellent - the only slight negative was the time spent at souvenir stalls. Overall though, it exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money.
Tour was good. Nothing special. It's about 5 hours. Lunch was really good. Our guid Teresa was very friendly and knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, I'd recommend it but you won't miss much if you skip it either.
Julio our guide was friendly and knowledgable explained everything. He did not rush us and we had plenty of time to do our own things . We had a great time
All in all a good but not great tour. The price is fair. The length of the tour was good except that in Teotihuacan an extra hour should is a must, as the site is too big to get to know in only 2 hours. The tour guide was friendly enough and knowledgeable when asked, but the communication skills and the frequency of the commentary were lacking. Especially in Teotihuacan, where only one hour was spent with the guide. We were a small group and everyone was friendly. Transport was comfortable. Staff were accommodating. Pros: Content of the tour (Teotihuacan, Basilica, Obsidian workshop etc.) Organization Lunch Price Cons: Communication skills of our guide Short stay at Teotihuacan
Rosa was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about Teotihuacan and the Basilica Guadalupe. She also brought humor.
This was perfect. Christopher was an incredible tour guide. The included lunch was unbelievable. This is by far the best tour to the pyramids. I researched them all this us for what they provide the best one.
Julio was amazing. The tour was great, food was also very good. I will recommend add lunch to your tour
The tour was average. The sites were wonderful, but our guide, Manuel, was not very interesting. Seemed like he had memorized the history and was just rattling it off. His English was a little hard to understand, and the Spanish language explanations were much longer than the English ones. He also did not take us to the pyramid of the serpents at Teotihuacan. At the Basilica, we had to ask for some free time to visit the old chapel as he was leaving without taking us there. That should definitely be included in the tour. The time spent at the shops was excessive, it would have been better to spend that time at the Basilica. Also, it would have been better to go to Teotihuacan first to avoid the afternoon sun/heat, and do the Plaza of Three Cultures later.
Great Guide and Driver – But Van Was Very Uncomfortable. Charlie, our tour guide, and Ellie, the driver, were FANTASTIC and incredibly friendly. Charlie was full of insightful information and seemed to know everything about each site we visited. His enthusiasm and knowledge really made the experience enjoyable. However, I do have a couple of suggestions to improve the overall tour experience: 1. Comfort of the Tour Van: The vehicle was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. It felt like we were packed in like sardines, which made the travel between locations unpleasant. A more spacious and comfortable tour bus would make a big difference, especially for longer tours. 2. Complimentary Water: It would be greatly appreciated to have bottled water available, especially when touring areas that involve a lot of walking under the sun. After visiting the pyramids in the blazing heat, many of us were dehydrated until we reached the restaurant and could finally get something to drink. Aside from those issues, we had a great day and truly appreciated Charlie and Ellie’s efforts. Their professionalism and friendliness really stood out!
Great trip and our guide was wonderful!!! Did not rush us around and had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about the sites and the surrounding areas.
I had an unforgettable experience with Mexico Tours! Our day started at the Basilica de Guadalupe, where we explored the beautiful grounds, visited the gift shop, and saw the shroud of Juan Diego—a truly spiritual moment. From there, we headed to Teotihuacán, which was absolutely breathtaking. One of the highlights was enjoying a delicious rooftop lunch overlooking the Pyramid of the Sun. The preset menu had both vegetarian and meat options, and everything was full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. In the same area, we had the opportunity to meet local obsidian artisans and silversmiths, who shared their incredible work and knowledge with us. We even got to try pulque and a unique tequila made from “las lunas”, the flower/fruit of the cactus—such a cool cultural experience! A huge shoutout to Julio and Maricruz, our bilingual guides, who were not only knowledgeable and kind but also made sure everyone in the group felt welcomed and informed throughout the day. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a meaningful and well-rounded experience in CDMX!
Great tour. Ivan our guide was very nice and knowledgeable! Highly recommended. Good lunch as well!!
Since I stayed in a hostel, had to walk to a nearby meeting point. (The company will contact you to coordinate your pickup location with you) . Pickup is only for certain hotels. However, the pickup was in timely manner and the driver was very accommodating. I especially loved Teresa, our tour guide who made sure everyone understood her explanations of the historic sites. Teresa was able to bring us all together during this tour like a family and answered all of our questions to the best of her knowledge. It was obvious that this is just not a job for her but a passion that she shared with others. The driver also pointed out many spots of interest during the drive to the pyramids. They gave us plenty of time to tour and shop for gifts as well, and the restaurant was not only delicious ( although I would only focus on the tacos or burritos next time) but the location was simply beautiful and nicely shaded, with a cool breeze. I will definitely book with them again!
Highlight of the tour was visit to the pyramids and shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Could do without the stop at the tequila farm to peddle store sales as well as the buffet style lunch
First we went to the Three Cultures church. After lesson from history we heading north went shopping to obsidian workshop. Still with tequila taste we bought sombreros at sellers under pyramids. Just do not shop to much! Silver, obsidian and precious stones all over at the spot.
Seeing pyramids is simply amazing, you can’t go wrong with this experience. This tour had some tourist traps included, but obsidian manufacture that was part of it was fascinating, so I did not mind. I would have wished for a slightly more engaging tour guide, but this is only a minor gripe.
The historical site itself was gorgeous, the transport was good but our tour guide was suboptimal. We booked the tour in English but one person “prefered” Spanish and the tour guide accommodated her and it took forever to move along. Our tour guide spoke broken English and it was very hard to understand. I was a bit disappointed by this experience
The tour exceeded our expectations. Juan, our guide, was very knowledgeable, and his explanations were very interesting. He added some extras, like murals with detailed descriptions that we had not expected to see. We loved the lunch on the terrace with a view to the pyramids. The whole day was a wonderful experience. Jorge, our driver, took us everywhere timely and safely. Thanks so much!
Teresa was fabulous! She was incredibly knowledgeable and a great guide. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to learn more about the culture of Mexico and the surrounding cities.
It was very informative. The driver, Eli, and the guide, Charlie, were excellent. They were able to answer all our questions
Our driver Jorge Medellín and tour guide Teresa Carrillo were outstanding! Jorge is an excellent driver and Teresa knows her history! Both are people-persons with great personalities!!
Charlie was the best tour guide - very informative and enthusiastic! It was an excellent value tour and a great experience. Thank you Charlie & Eli, I highly recommend.
Nobody showed up at the pick location. We waited for more than half an hour. Called both viator and the company, nobody answered.
They are not providing us with lunch, which I paid for. We stayed longer in the shops. I would prefer to stay longer in the sites
Book with a different company. This one does not communicate clearly or timely. I sent several messages and received many differing meeting times and places. This caused a lot of stress and nearly made us miss our tour. The van was not marked and the guide never responded to several messages. I was told to leave the meeting place and go to another spot. Luckily I did not listen and stayed put. The guide was okay, but I think the Trip Advisor tour is better. This one will take you a lot of side places where you are expected to tip people for everything. I usually only leave reviews for good service, but the communication was awful. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. I've been to the pyramids 3 times and this was not the one to choose. I was disappointed.
Great tour. Excellent communication. Very worthwhile. Really enjoyed the pyramids and the basilica. Guide was very knowledgeable and gave plenty of time to explore.
make sure to bring a hat while seeing the pyramids at Teotihuacan! It was gorgeous and magical but very hot and sunny, even in December.
I would suggest to organise your trip to the temples and Guadalupe independently. The tour started around 40 minutes late, which I understand is due to the CDMX traffic, but we were the only ones waiting at our stop and if we didn’t text the company to ask for updates, we wouldn’t have known how long it would have been, what the van looked liked, or if we were in the right place. We are fluent in Spanish and English, and we booked the tour in Spanish to have a more local experience. The guide, Gaby, really struggled to switch between the two languages, so when we realised that we were the only people speaking Spanish in the group, we told the guide that she could just speak in English. Gaby joked that we could have said it before she had to struggle so much, and although I understand it was a joke and we laughed at the time , I now think that one should not offer a bilingual tour if not able to run it. Especially because I went on a fantastic bilingual tour in Oaxaca after this one, with a very capable guide. Gaby was hard to understand in English, and the information given was very elementary and not interesting. On the way to the temples we got an explainer on all the costs of every single transportation in CDMX, for some reason. The history facts were very basic. We stopped at Tlatelolco and there was no mention of its important history tied to the student movement in the 60s. The food at the lunch spot was ok but not great. We were dropped for way too much time at shops and tourist traps where they tried to sell us stuff. The day wasn’t terrible just because the places themselves were gorgeous, but we could have made it much shorter and more pleasant by organising it ourselves.
Carlos was a wonderful your guide and my family of 7 had an amazing time. We loved hearing about the obsidian, seeing the pyramids and the Last of Guadalupe. I highly recommend this day trip.
This tour was wonderful! Besides Teotihuacan being an amazing experience, the trip included a tour of a local artisan group that makes obsidian pieces and silver jewelry, plus tequila and mezcal with agave plants grown on site. We got to taste several agave based drinks that are produced throughout the harvest and fermentation process. They had a huge shop that I bought several beautiful pieces of high quality silver jewelry at. We paid for the included lunch which was delicious. Our tour guide and driver were both lovely and very knowledgeable. Exceptional value for your money, highly recommend!
Great experience, Rosa Maria our guide was super friendly and knowledge. The food was ok, but you could also order other stuff from the menu. Great value for the price.
The highlight of the day was definitely Teotihuacan and the pyramids so I'm glad that my group and I got to experience this. Although the website advertises this as an 8-9 hour day, our day ended up being around 11 hours from pickup to dropoff. The package we bought included lunch. However, we didnt end up eating lunch until 330 pm so please eat breakfast beforehand. The biggest negative of this experience was the driver who was frequently missing, leading to many inefficiencies of the day. However, our tour guide Teresa was nice and remained professional under these circumstances.
Had a great time and I highly recommend this tour. Teresa was a great tour guide and explained thoroughly about the history of each site. Would gladly book with this group again!
This trip was very good. Our tour guide Lolve was very nice, knowledgeable and professional. We had enough time to visit pyramids. The lunch was not bad. But at the end of the tour, at Basilica, there were extremely long wasting time in the shop instead of watching Basilica. That was the only minus of the trip.
Van arrived almost one hour late. We went to an archeological site that was not on the itinerary and not necessary. Took an extra hour. Before getting to Teotihuacan we stopped at a tourist trap shopping area for an hour and pressured to buy souvenirs. Finally arrived at ruins at 12:50. We were given 2 hours to view the pyramids. Not enough time to go to the museum. Tour included lunch but we did not get to the restaurant until 3:15! Everyone was starving. We went to Basillica, arriving at 5:07, leaving at 6:00. We were told we would be dropped off first but then after a long trip to drop off another passenger, we arrived at our drop off at 7:00. All in all, the trip was poorly run, with unnecessary stops and poor communication.
Everything was memorable! The tour guide was great and kind! The tours we excellent! The lunch was also great
Martha was an excellent tour guide, we really loved her presentation and explaination of the history behind these places. She was very professional and fun. We were extremely happy with the tour, the guide, the lunch and would highly recommend it to others! Rick D, San Diego, CA.
We loved our tour and guide Marta- she was really great! Knowledgeable, showed her passion for the history, fun, and we were very comfortable asking her questions and just chatting! It was a great day and lunch was delicious as well!!
Our tour guide Juaquin was amazing and our driver Jorge was so accommodating. They were professional, funny and caring. Sites were aware inspiring and beautiful! Lastly the van we rode in was top notch and lunch was very good and included. Thank you Viator!
Seeing the sights- but not enough time spent at Basilica- got there too late. Also no time to see Teotihuacán museum, got to site too late. Driver & guide picked us up 1 hour late-had to wait for driver to pick us up at Teotihuacan, he should have been waiting for us. Too much time spent on sales pitches for us to buy souvenirs. We’re there to see the sights, not having time to spend listening (information) about things. Didn’t find it beneficial-just took time from us visiting the sites earlier. Spent too much time waiting.
Small group so the tour guide Martha took good care of each one of us. Food is included for my package and the restaurant is out of my expectation. Overall a nice experience. Also appreciating a pick up point at Roma North.
This tour to the Basilica de Guadalupe and Teotihuacán provides a rich cultural experience. The visit to the Basilica allows for exploring its beautiful architecture and understanding its significance in Mexican history. Teotihuacán offers a breathtaking experience, with the chance to climb the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, and take in stunning views of the ancient city. The guide provides insightful commentary, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Perfect for anyone interested in Mexican history and culture. Highly recommended for a full day of exploration and learning.
The tour was lovely and we enjoyed ourselves. Very educational and interesting tour with Rosa and Eli! 10/10 would recommend!
Great tour with a very knowledgeable and engaging guide (Rosario). We were very lucky with weather and there weren’t too many crowds. The portion at the start of the tour with Jesus was also great. We got to learn a lot about the culture and not just looking at the beautiful pyramids. Would definitely recommend!
This trip is great! Very well organised by Viewmextours. Carlos was the guide: he knows so much!!! He talks the whole time in English and Spanish, must be very tiring for him, but he is full of energy until the en of the tour. Big compliment for Carlis. The driver, Alberto, did a good job too, also compliments for him! The pick-up at my hotel was punctual. It is a long day, pick-up at 8.50 am and drop-off at 6.10 pm. Pick-up and drop-off are included. Lunch was also included (except drinks) and it was very good, nice atmosphere, rooftop terrace, Mexican music. Very good Mexican food, option of different menus. The time spent at the highlights was enough. The pyramids are amazong, especially the pyramid of the moon. Carlos was very clear in his instructions: when we were given free time at the different highlights: pick-p at that time and at that spot: no problem, every one was there. This tour is very good value for money and I woukd recommend it to everyone who wants to see the pyramids in one day, everything included.
It was a great tour, with an amazing and very knowledgeable tour guide Rosa. We've learned so much about the history of Mexico City and Mexico in general. Also, make sure to arrive at the earlier pickup locations because we were the last ones to join the tour and sat at very back row which has very little leg room.
Excellent tour. We went with Martha and she shared a lot of historical and cultural contexts to the sites we visited. We would highly recommend this tour
It was a great tour and our guide charlie was very informative about the history and our driver israel was great as well
