I will start with what was good: the guide was very friendly, all the places were visited as promised with sufficient free time. Comfort breaks and time for lunch were well planned. On the negative side, due to the absence of a loudspeaker in the van explanations by the guide were difficult to understand. While the guide provided basic information on the sites we visited, I felt these were relatively superficial. The long car journey could have been used for in-depth explanations as I had experienced on other tours. I regard the tour as good enough but without much passion and enthusiasm. Regarding the organisation, we were picked up 20 minutes late as the driver seems to have been waiting at the wrong hotel even though correct address details had been provided. I would recommend the tour with some reservations.

Loved it! I would not visit without a tour, and I’d book them again. I recommend dedicating a full day to the experience.
A Wonderful Day at the Pyramids! Katia was our guide and Adamar was our driver, and together they made the tour fun and special. They were both so patient with us! The staff at the mezcal tasting were also lovely and helped us with everything. The buffet restaurant was just okay; we would have loved to try more traditional Mexican food. But the rest of the experience was fantastic, and I’d recommend this tour with my eyes closed! A few tips: bring water, sunscreen, and a hat or umbrella, the sun is strong! Climbing the pyramid is fun, but the height can make you dizzy, and the climb may be tough if you’re not in good physical shape. A small backpack is handy for your things. Bring some change in case you need a bathroom outside the tour, plus a little toilet paper just in case. Enjoy every minute! ☀️
The tour had a 7:30 AM pickup time, but the first part of the morning was spent driving around the city to pick up other participants. One group did not show up on time, which delayed the tour by approximately 45 minutes. The tour guide was overall okay, but the information she provided about the sites was somewhat limited. We also stopped at a craft store where we were given a lengthy explanation about how the art pieces were created. In my opinion, this stop was unnecessary and took valuable time away from the actual sightseeing. We had only one hour at the pyramids, followed by approximately an hour for lunch. We then headed to the basilica, where we were given another 30-minute stop at a store to have the opportunity to purchase church-related gifts. Unfortunately, we only received about 10 minutes of information about the actual site we had come to visit. The worst part of the experience was learning that we were scheduled to be dropped off last, which would have extended the tour by another two hours. Rather than spend that additional time in the vehicle, we decided to forgo the return transportation and take an Uber back to our hotel. Overall, the actual sightseeing could have easily been completed in 4–5 hours if the unnecessary shopping and craft-store stops had been eliminated and the transportation had been better organized. The tour had potential, but too much time was spent on activities that were not part of the main sightseeing experience.
This was a great opportunity to learn the history of these historical sites! Luis was a great guide! He gave us a lot of information and answered all of our questions! Highly recommend! Ramon, our driver, did a great job too!
Not worth it! This was supposed to be a 7 hours tour, getting picked up at 9am, but endend up being a 12 hours loooong day. I was picked up at 8:30 and we hit the first stop at 9:30. Thee tour itself ended at 17:30, so 9 hours from the time i was picked up. On the way back, instead of going through downtown, where most guests were staying, the driver literally went around the city on the freeway to drop off 2 guests. In times with google maps where everyone can follow the path we are taking, that was not very smart. I m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that they were complaining from the get go and that the guide helped him buy tickets for the wrestling match for that night and also helped with a tour for the next day. So the rest of us had to endure 3 hours in traffic, 1,5h of which with mexican music blasting in the van, at the request of the mentioned "vips", which promptly was stopped when they got off... The 7h tour turned into a 12h nightmare! Awful experience, just awful...
Safe, enough time at each one, very enjoyable, clean van and good driver, excellent guide who was very knowledgeable
Miriam and Ramon were great! I travelled with my sister who had a broken ankle and two senior citizens and they were very accommodating.
The guide and the tour both were nice. It was a part Spanish part English tour and the guide did a great job.
This experience was a mess start to finish. While some of it was outside of the tours control (protests and traffic, which I understand), the tour guide decided to skip lunch without giving us an option to stop for food and after they took us from the last available place to buy food. If time was an issue, they prioritized taking us to several places in an effort to get us to make purchases at associated vendors rather than prioritizing our experience on the tour. We ended up lightheaded after a lot of steps in the heat. In addition, the guide was not really knowledge about the history. I would highly recommend seeking out another tour vendor.
To begin, our guide was great! However, we were placed on the wrong tour... which was not made clear until a stop-that was not scheduled in what I had originally booked-was made. It was then, the guide shared that the other stop- a lunch stop... making the tour from 7:30-6pm (including 2.5 hours with pick-up and drop off). The tour I booked was from 9-4 with 3 stops... this tour which was $20/pp more. Instead, we were placed with another tour group to make a full shuttle. When Viator was contacted, they indicated this was the only tour. However, the tour guide did indicate they had moved another tourist to this tour. After a while Viator stopped communicating. Thankfully, the tour guide learned that others on the tour were also placed in the wrong tour. She made an adjustment to the timing, but we lost the additional time that we would have had at Teotihuacan. Lesson learned - to ask the tour guide before had, not just the tour name, but also the exact schedule before hand.
Great trip! Guide was very knowledgeable and was able to communicate in both Espanol and English to the split tour. Driver was great and drove with care. Good experience at all 3 stops. Food stop was ok, lots of vendors at the artisanal shop and teotihuacan. But overall, learned a lot and had a great experience
A long day but very interesting-the guide was amazing, learned a lot and just the right amount of time at each stop to not feel rushed
Excellent experience with Katya our guide.. The Shrine of Guadalupe must see/experience for Catholics
Good experience that allowed us to learn more about the history of Mexico with a small group of 10 people—not overwhelming and just enough to strike up a mix of conversations. Good blend of time together and free time to explore. Guide and driver were attentive and friendly. They impressively and seamlessly switched between English and Spanish based on the needs of the group.
Our full day trip was varied and very informative despite our excellent tour guide Raphael having to be bi lingual (Spanidh & English) with all the information he gave us throughout the day. We started with a quuck stop in Tlatelolco, which was an interesting ruin site site with a beautiful cathedral. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to walk around in there but got lots of information about it and a will to come back again. The 2nd stop of the day was the highlight: Teotihuacan…with more pyramids than you could count and stretching as far as the eye could see. Highlight of the day was being able to climb up the very high steps and step incline of the pyramide of the moon. The view from the first level, the highest you are allowed to climb up to these days, was magnificent. Well worth the heart pounding and the heavy breathing. We spent quite a long time on site, so we all got our opportunities to feel the atmosphere and take all the photos we could possibly want. By this time we were all pretty hungry and a bit tired, so my recommendation is to bring plenty of water and something small to eat to keep you going until it’s time for a late lunch. The final stop to Guadalupe will probably be more spectacular for anyone being religious, but even if you are not you will still get to see beautiful architecture and find out the history of the place. I can totally recommend this trip to anyone with interest in history and architecture, so why not give it a go! 😀
I signed up for an English speaking tour. The tour was bilingual with most of the talking in Spanish a language I don’t know at all. I didn’t pay big bucks for a bilingual tour. The tour also went from tourist trap to trap! I would not recommend this to anyone nor would I go again.
Katya and Jose our driver were great, we recommend this trip. But the time at the Basilica of Guadalupe was very limited, it could have been better if we spend at least 2 hours there.Thank you.
I signed up for a tour in English, and ended up the only one in the group who didn’t speak Spanish. The guide was careful to deliver his information in both languages.
We were let down by Wayak as the driver never turned up. I received an email the night before confirming we would be picked up from the hotel lobby at 8.35am. We waited from 8.15am tilll 10am thinking driver could be late due to traffic. I never received a message or call and it was too late to organise alternative arrangements. It spoilt our day as the tour would have been the highlight of our trip to Mexico. As I had done the booking I felt I had let my family down. We were offered a refund with no explanation given. As we had other arrangements the next day and leaving Mexico city the day after it meant we missed out on this particular tour. I have never booked with Viator before and this was a bad & disappointing experience.
As an experience visiting the pyramids of Teotihuacan , this is perfect. But the cherry on the cake was our guide. Julio. Due to very less people in English group (just me and another girl), we were clubbed with the Spanish group. But Julio did such an amazing job of repeating everything in both languages fluently ! Hats off really. As of the tour, because they cover three sites it feels really rushed. It would not be rushed if we didn’t do the halt in the morning at that shop selling artifacts. Too touristy. Also the lunch offered was at best average. The sites ofcourse are a must visit and so interesting so I just feel they can remove these extra stops. Our trip started at 9, and by 6:30 PM they were still dropping off people to their hotels.
What a wonderful trip! Felt like we were in great hands with Gil behind the wheel. Marco the guide was SUPER informative. Truly enjoyed my experience and would recommend to anyone.
I think people would be hard pressed to find another tour guide who was as knowledgeable and passionate about this tour than Marcos and our driver Joel. So much information given which made the tour so much more meaningful. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended Sonya New Zealand
Great tour. Francisco was an awesome tour guide. Not only was he very informative but he had the answer each time I asked a question, demonstrating his depth of knowledge. My recommendation is to book the tour for Monday to Thursday to avoid the tourist crowds. We booked ours for Tuesday for this exact reason and it paid off. The 16 passenger van had only 4 people in it! This was essentially a private tour as we made friends with the other party of 2.
What an amazing trip. We were ever so lucky to be the only ones on this tour, which gave us Marcos all to ourselves. His knowledge, passion and delivery is amazing. Just the right amount of history and narrative along with the time to explore these amazing places in your own time. Joel, the driver, was equally great navigating some of the Mexico City congestion like it wasn’t there. A trip to the pyramids is a must if you’re in Mexico City, even if you’re only there a couple of days like we were, and I guarantee you won’t find a better combo than Joel and Marcos to bring this amazing, jaw dropping, place to life.
Marcos and Gilberto were fantastic. Marcos was incredibly knowledgeable and his detail on every site was fantastic. He was able to address complex histories from a variety of perspectives. Gilberto's ability to maneuver through the frequently difficult traffic was much appreciated and he always made sure we were comfortable.
Galiela was amazing, the full trip is so enjoyable even though its long trip it feels so short but with a lot of information to learn about
It is absolutely worth it! The guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, sharing so much history and cultural insight. The driver made the whole journey smooth and relaxing. Everything was well organized and on time. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico City!
The guide is very important for a historical site seeing. Ours Alfredo Garcia was knowledgeable guide.
Francisco was a phenomenal tour guide. He was quick to translate everything in English and Spanish. He was very informative and knowledgeable to answer questions and guide us. We had a wonderful experience! They even pick us up from where we were staying- which was extremely helpful. There were other people on the tour so we got to meet new people.
Marcos the tour guide was great, he was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and considerate. We were mostly on time, but unfortunately Mexico City traffic is heavy and there happened to be an accident which made our ride to our second stop a little longer. Juan the driver was safe and we felt in good hands. They both knew their stuff. We enjoyed the tour.
Informative, enjoyable day spent with our knowledgeable guide (Marcos) and excellent driver (Juan). Exceeded our expectations.
This day tour was a great way to see some of Mexico's most important sites without any hassle. Everything was well-organized and ran smoothly. We got to explore the ruins of Teotihuacan, visit the beautiful Shrine of Guadalupe, and learn some cool history at Tlatelolco. The guide was friendly and explained things in a fun, easy-to-understand way. It was a full day but didn’t feel rushed or tiring. A perfect trip if you want to see a lot in a short time!
Great sites! Definitely plan for walikng and heat. Awesome tour guidres. Comfortable van. Very friendly service.
My wife and I had a great day exploring with Francisco and Hector! Communication about hotel pickup was seamless, and the transportation was cool and comfortable. Francisco did a great job of providing background and information about the sites, while also leaving enough time for individual exploration. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Fernando and Joel were fantastic, the pick up was at our hotel and then a few stops along the way to see ruins, the pyramid, the church. The ride was air conditioned and clean. Worth the money!
Fernando was an excellent guide and Joel drove well! Had a great time!! Wear sneakers and bring sun screen!
This was a great experience! Our guide, Francisco, was amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. All of the sites were full of history. I highly recommend!
Awesome experience well paced, Enrique and the tour guide were excellent. We enjoyed the history, travel and sites and lunch. Everyone who visits should use this service!
Marcos and Enrique were great! Personable. Easy to be with. Great English for us non-Spanish speakers. Great notes on the appropriate subjects! Really enjoyed the day! Plenty of free time at the stops!
We took the tour with Angela as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and insightful about the history. I highly recommend booking this tour. Getting there early in the morning is a must to avoid the crowds.
If you’re into history, this is a fantastic tour! Our guide, Marcos, was incredibly informative and knowledgeable, making the experience both educational and engaging. We began with a stop at Tlatelolco, where we spent about an hour exploring the site and learning about its historical significance. From there, we headed to Teotihuacan and spent around two hours exploring the ancient pyramids—absolutely breathtaking! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and don’t forget sunblock, water and a hat—it gets hot out there. After Teotihuacan, we had lunch at a clean and charming restaurant with a lovely view. The atmosphere was enhanced by two mariachis playing guitar and singing—such a nice touch! Our final stop was the Shrine of Guadalupe. The church is stunning and peaceful. My only wish is that we had more time there; 30 minutes just didn’t feel like enough to take it all in. Overall, it was a well-organized and memorable day. I highly recommend this tour—especially for those who love history and culture
We had Angela Vilchiz as our guide for the day, and it was truly wonderful. She’s passionate about the topics, was always present and engaged (even offering tips beforehand), and made the experience fun, inspiring, and informative . Thank you!
Very hot and dusty, take an umbrella, a lot of walking. The temples were interesting to look at but you cannot climb them.
This was an excellent excursion that lasted the perfect amount of time. Our guide, Marcos, was extremely knowledgeable about all the sights we visited. He was also very passionate about the history of Mexico and shared fascinating facts about pre- and post-Columbian culture. Moises, our bus driver, was friendly and drove safely throughout the trip.
Marcos absolutely gave us a great tour and showed tons of passion on the subject! The pyramids were great and not too crowded!
We loved this small group tour. Our guide Francisco in his Speglish accent made our experience informative and enjoyable. He was knowledgeable about the Aztec history and took time to explain details. I would fully recommend this tour.
Alan and Hector were great guides, very communicative and shared a lot of great information about Mexico City, Ttatelelco, Teotihuacan and the Shrive of Guadalupe.
Excellent day from hotel pick up and drop off. Alan, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and a great chap! I highly recommend this tour.
Great experience! Alan was a great guide who mixed helpful background with individual time to explore. The hotel pickup was convenient and punctual. We really enjoyed the 3 sites!
