Such a fun experience and definitely one of the most unique parts of the trip! The atmosphere was so lively with music, food, and other boats passing by, and it ended up being the perfect mix of relaxing and fun. We loved being able to enjoy the scenery, celebrate, and just soak in the energy of Xochimilco. It’s one of those experiences that really feels like you’re immersed in the culture and vibe of Mexico City.

Victor was a great guide and driver. Good English and knowledge. Enjoyed visiting Coayacan, Xochimilco and short stop at UNAM.
It took us 2 hours 45 minutes to arrive as it was traffic and rains, also the driver did not take the toll road and it was so dark when we reached and did not enjoy the ride, as there were hardly people and it was no fun
We returned to CDMX for a second time and booked another tour with Epic Journey. We were fortunate to be assigned the same exact tour guide as our trip to the pyramids. Our guide, Victor, arrived on time and remembered us from our previous trip. For this journey, we went to Xochimilco to enjoy fresh tacos on a Tuesday in the trajinera. The whole experience was very smooth. After, we spend the remaining time in Coyoacán, walking through the neighborhood and enjoying churros and ice cream. Highly recommend Epic Journey team for value and expertise.
Our driver and host was very attentive and knowledgeable. It was very convenient to be picked up from our Airbnb. It was an excellent cultural experience.
Our tour with Oscar was absolutely incredible from start to finish! He was so kind, knowledgeable, and friendly — we instantly felt comfortable with him. He drove us to the Xochimilco canals for a beautiful boat ride, then took us around Frida Kahlo’s neighborhood, where he had the best local recommendations for tostadas, coffee, ice cream, and churros. It was overall a fun and insightful tour — it felt like exploring the city with a local friend who truly loves what he does. The tour company was also very accommodating with our scheduling needs, and everything was perfectly timed for us — never rushed, just smooth and enjoyable. We felt like we experienced some of the best of Mexico City in one day. We feel so lucky to have had Oscar as our guide, and we genuinely hope anyone booking this tour gets him too — he made the day absolutely exceptional. We’d book another tour with him again in a heartbeat!
We had high hopes for this tour, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations. The admin team was very accommodating when we asked to change our pickup point, which we appreciated. The “tour guide” arrived in time, but the driver arrived about 20 minutes late. Most of the time was spent getting to Xochimilco with stops for tacos and then drinks. The taco place actually sold drinks too, so the second stop felt unnecessary. By the time we ate, the tacos were cold and there were no napkins or utensils. The guide and driver were friendly but didn’t offer much commentary. I’ve done a similar tour before that felt more authentic, with fresh food from passing boats and live mariachi. This one felt disorganized and ran late, so we even shortened the boat ride. Everyone was nice, but it just didn’t flow smoothly.
Our tour guide was extremely informative and really nice. We learned alot about the history of Mexico. I would recommend them 100%
Diego put very little effort into our trip, very disappointed. Nazareth our driver tried his best to talk to us about what we were doing and where we were, but we felt like an inconvenience. As we were told Diego was tired from working two jobs. Tacos were picked up at the start of the trip to be eaten on the boat, so lower your expectations. Boat ride was very short and really should be done in a group setting, also expect to have people in other boats sell you things. We were told very little about Frieda Khalo other than the trolley that tipped over and she miscarried. At every turn we were encouraged to buy things, or tip more. Diego fell asleep or played on his phone while we sat in heavy traffic. It felt more like a boring Uber thru the city than an excursion.
An epic journey. Driver was punctual, courteous & very knowledgeable. I learned so much about the culture. I felt safe & would definitely recommend.
Don't pass up on this wonderful cultural experience. Guide was very informative, and everyone was super friendly.
We had such a relaxing and enjoyable day! Diego, our tour guide, was amazing—super friendly and very knowledgeable. If you’re looking for something laid-back, this tour is perfect. The boat ride accompanied by live Mariachi music was incredibly soothing. Afterward, we explored Frida Kahlo’s neighborhood and visited a park with statues honoring her. Even with teacher protests happening in the city, we were still able to enjoy walking around and taking in the views. Dinner at Casa de las Sirenas was the perfect way to end the day—delicious food, a stunning view, and outstanding service. Overall, the weather was beautiful, the company was great, and the day was unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Very Good Trip. Victor is very good Guide.Must visit plan in Maxico city itinerary. Will definitely recommend
Another great tour! We visited Xochimilco today and it was a great experience. Both my husband and I were looking forward to this part of our trip and it did not disappoint. Jorge, our tour guide was simply the best! So much history about our stops, it’s wild! Thank you Epic Journey and Jorge!
Andrew Xavi, the owner of Epic Journeys was helpful, professional, and prompt. This was a customized tour for two couples and he made the necessary tweaks to the standard itinerary. Laila, our guide was helpful and informative. When we told her that we were not fans of crowds and loud parties, she took us to a different pier in Xochimilco where we were pretty much the only boat in the water (we did go early though).
Highly recommend a tour w Ari! He is so genuinely friendly and you can tell he loves his job so much! He was very knowledgeable and showed me and my family all of the cool spots. I was with my four young children and Ari stepped in to help wherever needed without me asking. Great tour guide and an even better man! Thank you for an incredible day!!! My kids are still raving about it!
Luis was a wonderful guide! We had a great time on the canal boat, including tacos. Then we saw the sights of Coyoacan, including the Frida Kahlo house and park, the fountain of coyotes, and the beautiful San Juan Bautista Church and Monastery.
This was a blast!! We did a two hour tour and all wished we did the four hour tour instead. Nonstop fun. Diego and Evelin were fantastic guides, make sure Evelin does her Selena impersonation for you too! Recommend four hour tour and also bring money for mariachis. They cost @ 1,000-1,500 pesos for 5 songs or so. Trust me you’ll want them to come aboard and play and you’ll want a few different groups during your tour.
We had an amazing experience at Xochimilco. We booked this event through Epic Journey. No hassle, no haggle, all taken care of ahead of time. The boat ride was cool, a lot of people partying but still family friendly. Stick with a smaller tour guide.
Our guide Andrea was very good instantly connecting with our young child. The boat ride was very nice and all details explained very well. Andrea guided us towards good spots for lunch as well (vegetarian place)
Andrew was able to accommodate our tour requests. Oscar was the best, caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. Oscar loves what he does and it shows!
Oscar was great ! We had great time. Communication was timely. Guide was punctual. Boat ride was fun!
Oscar Was extremely knowledgeable with a great command of English. We would all welcome the opportunity to do another tour with him again! Thanks for the opportunity to spend the day.
A+!! Wonderful tour guide. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Interesting. It was like spending the day with a local friend. Wanted to know about our towns and friends. Wish we had him for every tour
I wanted my 40th birthday to be unforgettable, so I brought along my 13 fabulous girlfriends for the ultimate Mexico City adventure! Epic Journey made sure it was EPIC in every sense! From the moment we landed to the moment we left, they granted every wish we had (even the crazy ones- Xochimilco was our Favorite ) Andrew, you’re a rock star! Your team’s communication was on point, and you guys handled everything with such grace. Judy and Rafa, our ride wizards, thank you for getting us everywhere on time. Yordi and Axel, your tours were top-notch! You somehow managed all 14 of us through all the must-see spots without losing a single person. And Andres and Franco, you guys brought the fun and laughter; Miami is waiting for you! 🏝️ We felt so safe and well taken care of the entire weekend. If you’re planning a trip to Mexico City and want a company that’s trustworthy, fun, and goes above and beyond, Epic Journey is the way to go. Thank you for making this weekend one for the books! Until next time, Epic Journey! ✨
Omar and Nazareth were on time, super friendly, very informative and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs especially since my father in law needed the wheel chair. They made the experience so much fun and memorable 😁
From the pick up at the hotel, the guide and driver made the tour very enjoyable. Best of all, not having to think about anything and just enjoy. The food, transportation, guide and service exceeded all expectations. Really recommended.
Our guide Ruben was very nice. He was our guide for two experiences. For our experience in xochimilco, he shared his knowledge with us about trijaneras. His knowledge was extensive and made us good talk during our trip. We will schedule it again!
It was a family walk with a visually impaired person and a senior citizen and at all times made us feel safe, very good experience
This tour was an excellent experience. You actually immerse yourself in the activity or place you are doing/visiting. Very authentic and gives you a good taste of Mexican culture. The Guide was very approachable, friendly, considerate, and honest. I highly recommend Jorge as a Guide for Spanish speakers. Takes you Top-rated places. This tour was a very good experience.
