Pyramids Of Teotihuacan And Restaurant In A Natural Cave

Luis, our tour guide, shared so much historical context from start to end; during the bus ride all the way to the pyramid tour. He answered all questions I had & was super friendly! You can tell he’s passionate about archeology. The tour includes pick up & drop off, pyramid tour, a stop to have lunch in a beautiful cave, and then a quick stop to get some tequila samples and souvenirs. The restaurant however had horrible service, apart from the drinks and food being extremely disappointing.

Tour was good but restaurant wait was over 1 1/2 hour

I took this tour because unfortunately my previous reservation which included a hot air ballon experience was cancelled just a couple of weeks before (which was very dissapointing). However, this experience was good. The tour guide Laura was very professional and you could see her passion in her work. She informed of us ahead of time about the expected wait in La Gruta which is out of their hands. We really enjoyed the tour although we were sad about our previous cancellation.

Tour is mIs-named. Less than 1.5 hours at pyramids; then 2.5 hours at cave. We waited over an hour for table. Food ok, service ok (because staff handling bus loads of tourists). Experience did not match scheduled itinerary. Guide was friendly and informative; but it’s still a crappy tour.

Angel was an amazing guide, Jesus a great driver. Everyone was energetic and friendly and made the experience well worth it.

Angel, our guide, was amazing. He spoke fluent English. They separated Spanish-speaking group from the much larger English-speaking group. That made a huge difference as when a single person tries to speak everything in both languages, it becomes difficult to understand the transitions (which was a bit annoying, until we actually got to the pyramids).

Great experience. Food at the cave was pretty good. The tour guides were super friendly and they took their jobs really seriously in giving us the best customer service. Really recommend this.

I've traveled to both Europe and Asia many times, but this was one of the best tours I've been on. Our Guide Laura was the reason for this because her knowledge and passion on our tour was second to none. It felt like a crime that we got the experience we did for the price we paid. I've already recommended this tour to many of my friends and family, as well as other tours that this company has. Just make sure to request Laura if you want an authentic tour full of knowledge and learning! She really is the best

Overall we enjoyed our time at the pyramids. That said, a few things to know before booking. Itinerary was not accurate. Our reservation at Gruta was for lunch and not breakfast. Also, they added a stop to “taste” some sort of local liquor drink which was only to sell us souvenirs something that I didn’t experience in any of my Airbnb experiences. The entire group was exhausted and just sat there. Lastly the ride back was 2 1/2 hours long. Nothing they can control but had we not lost close to 39 minutes tasting at the end, I would have preferred to be back 30 minutes earlier. Host was nice enough but English and knowledge could have been better.

We had such a great experience touring the Teotihuacán pyramids with Mario as our guide and Hector as our driver! The pyramids were absolutely incredible, and our meal at La Gruta was delicious. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly, and Mario made the tour both informative and enjoyable. Such a memorable experience and definitely worth the cost! Highly recommend!

The tour guide, Laura, was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, passionate about the history of Mexico and the pyramids, and gladly answered any questions we may have had. She was friendly, well spoken, easy to understand and clearly loves her job. We were lucky to have her as our guide. And the driver navigated us smoothly and efficiently through the maze of traffic. They both did a great job.

It was a great 8.5 hour experience. You can’t beat the cost for the value! Laura, our guide, was amazing and very passionate. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to teotihuacan without a guide, and Laura and Jesus the driver were huge upgrades. I felt so much more informed, they were great and so worth it.

My family and I had such a wonderful time on the pyramid tour. Our tour guide, Laura, was fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. You could tell that she loves what she does and loves educating other. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone considering it. The driver, Jesus, was also great and the bus was clean and even had a bathroom. 10/10 experience from start to finish.

We had a fantastic pyramid tour and the lunch at La Gruta Cave Restaurant was a wonderful addition to the experience. Our guide, Mario, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He shared interesting information throughout the tour and made everyone feel welcome and engaged. His enthusiasm and professionalism made the day even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Mario as your guide!

For everything that you do on the trip it is definitely worth the money. Mario was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job keeping track of the group without making it feel like we were just a herd of sheep.

Raul was knowledgeable, funny and kind. It was my 2nd time going to visit these amazing pyramids. This time the visit included breakfast at La Gruta. The best part is we went during Día de Muertos!

We had a great time with Mario and our driver Oscar! On the bus ride Mario did a great job informing us about the history of the city and the pyramids. Once we got to the archeological site Mario continued to give us super detailed descriptions of the history of the ancient city and I feel like I gained a lot from this tour that I wouldn’t have on my own. Lunch at La Gruta was mostly for the experience but definitely worth the wait!

My husband and I have been dreaming of visiting Teotihuacan for years and this excursion was perfect! From pick-up to drop off, everything was super smooth and all the staff (check-in, tour guide, and driver) was incredible helpful. Meeting up with the bus was easy and convenient. We rode in a very comfortable bus to archaeological site. We started our day at La Gruta, a restaurant in a natural cave. The food was delicious, the ofrendas inside were stunning, and the views into the cave from above and sitting below was a wonderful experience. Be mindful that you will be dining with your tour group at one table and will need to coordinate with the restaurant staff to pay the bill. (Credit card seemed to be easies to process the transaction.) After breakfast, you will head with your guide to the archeological site. Our guide got us through security quickly and admission to Teotihuacan was included. This tour balances the right amount of walking around the archeological site - it's not too much, but enough for you to feel accomplished. We had the opportunity to climb the stairs on the Pyramid of the Moon and see the views from above - we were there on a clear day and it was stunning. Our guide was very knowledgeable about different areas of the site and was fun to spend the day with. If you are hoping to shop from vendors, I would coordinate timing with your tour guide, because they keep the tour moving. We had an easy transport and drop-off back to Mexico City. I would absolutely do this again!

The trip guides were excellent! Especially Johnny the Spanish speaking guide at Teotihuacan. The big problem was how to discern what bus I was to get on at my pick up. One man said he was with Olmedo Tours but could not find my reservation of 6 people. He was going to check and call someone. It took 20 minutes to find out the right guide- Laura. She found my reservation and was very attentive and informative. Not sure why there was two different Olmedo guides and two buses and the man guide could not refer me to Laura when he could not find my reservation!

The tour was great, just make sure to take water and walking shoes.

My trip to Teotihuacan was fun, Raul was a great guide. They took us to the gruta first to enjoy a great breakfast and then to Teotihuacan. I had a fun time

Tour guide Laura was super passionate and very knowledgeable! Excellent!! The green umbrella helped during the tour but another form of identification would be better at the pick up point. Lunch at the Gruta was nice but crowded. Laura mentioned patience and that helped. Overall great tour.

It was such an incredible experience learning about the history of the pyramids of Teotihuacán with our tour guide, Laura! The experience exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We had the opportunity to walk around, explore, and climb some of the pyramids while learning so much about their history and significance. Laura was wonderful at explaining everything and making the experience both informative and enjoyable. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Teotihuacán!

We booked a prívate tour, expecting an amazing experience. The driver could not speak English and the conditions of the car were really bad, he was also on the phone while driving. No guide with driver and were told we would find you one once at the pyramid - tour guide seemed nervous and in experience, didn’t even give his name when introduced himself. The tour states 2 hours at pyramids, but we were rushed round in an half and hour. Then the driver took us to the wrong restaurant, as he didn’t know where we had a reservation, which is meant to be part of the organized tour. Once we got to the right restaurant the hostess told us there was no reservation for us. For paying to have a private service it was a complete let down. We booked months in advance, but on the day it was completely unorganized. Reported to Viatour but they say it’s the tour providers problem, so they wash their hands of having any responsibility. We saw group tours with much better guides and much more information. Do not pay extra for a private tour go with a cheaper group tour.

The guides were nice but the tour is very long with lots of filler. You don’t leave for another hour plus at the meeting point so it’s a lot of time waiting. The first stop is to a souvenir shop which is not listed on the itinerary. They give you shots of liquor which would have been better later in the day instead of early morning. But it’s just to get you to buy overpriced souvenirs. When you get to the pyramids, the guide talks away from the pyramids and engages with more vendors instead of allowing you to see what you actually went on the tour for. La Gruta is really cool but the food is very overpriced and service is slow. But by this point you are so starving you’d pay anything for food. Just not a good flow and a lot of wasted time.

The tour was great I had a blast. Our tour guide was really good. He was funny and very knowledgeable and kept things moving a managable pace. The restaurant in the cave La Gruta was good and they were able to accommodate our large group of 25+ with very little wait.
