We had a lovely day with Roberto and Antonio visiting Tlatelaco, Teotihuacan and the Shrine of Guadalupe. And lunch was delicious. Overall a great tour.

Currently, the ruins of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas correspond to the ceremonial precinct of Tlatelolco, which bears similarities to Tenochtitlan, both in logic and in the objective: to form a city where the market and trade were the main activity.
The Basilica of Santa María de Guadalupe, officially called Insigne and National Basilica of Santa María de Guadalupe, is a sanctuary of the Catholic Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary in its dedication of Guadalupe, located at the foot of the Cerro del Tepeyac in the Gustavo City Hall A. Madero of Mexico City. It belongs to the First Archdiocese of Mexico through the Guadalupana Vicariate that since November 4, 2018 is under the care of Salvador Martínez Ávila who holds the title of General and Episcopal Vicar of Guadalupe and rector of the Sanctuary.1
The Pre-Hispanic City of Teotihuacan was one of the largest urban centers in the ancient world, which reached a population of more than 100,000 at the time of its greatest splendor. Located in a valley rich in natural resources, Teotihuacan was the seat of power of one of the most influential Mesoamerican societies in the political, economic, commercial, religious and cultural, whose features permanently marked the peoples of the Mexican highlands, transcending time and coming to us with the same strength and greatness with which its builders planned it.

Carlos was a fantastic guide. Very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. I would highly reccomend.
We had a great day with Carlos and Christian. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the pyramids and the Shrine. He provided so many suggestions on what to explore in the city during our visit. We appreciated him accommodating us and dropping us off in the historical center so we could explore on our own. The only criticism would be the unexpected side stop at the Artesanias Premier for obsidian/pulique. If offered, would pass. If you go just don’t buy anything. It was definitely a tourist trap, fell for the hard sell and purchased overpriced “certified” obsidian. That portion took longer than expected and would have preferred focusing on the historical sites. We chose the lunch option and it was amazing.
The pace of the tour was great and included a couple of optional, short stops that we opted to do. The tour guide was flexible as we added in a lunch stop.
In Mexico City we had the pleasure of Roberto our guide and Daniel our driver. I've traveled extensively all over the world, and I have never had a guide like Roberto — so incredibly knowledgeable about the history and customs of the people and sights, past, present, and future. Daniel was an excellent driver: friendly, and a wonderful car. We truly felt we had the best experience anyone could hope for. I would highly recommend this team to anyone looking for a friendly, knowledgeable guide through Mexico City. We were truly blown away by how wonderful these guides made our day.
Martha and Daniel were excellent tour guides , only way to see this historic area
Had a great day touring the pyramids and the Basilica with Roberto and Antonio (driver) . Roberto was very informative and made sure we enjoyed our day .
Fabulous. After the day with our driver Guillermo and our private guide Marta, my cousin and I knew we made the right choice to book this private tour with lunch included. First, it allows for more flexibility, especially in terms of visiting a site at our own pace. Marta shared her wealth of knowledge about the history of the ruins and Basilica. We opted to include lunch with traditional Mexican food. Our day was educational, enjoyable, and personalized. At the end we both agreed- this tour was beyond our expectations!
This was a great tour. Our guides went out of their way to make sure everything was convenient for us. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Even the kids loved it. We recommend splurging for the lunch. Very authentic.
Our tour guide Ramon was extremely knowledgeable and took his time answering all our questions at length and elaboration. We never felt rushed and they gave us plenty of time to visit each location. Thank you so much Ramon and driver Cristian for the giving us the most unforgettable experience in Mexico City. We could not have asked for a better tour guide!
Outstanding experience ! Angel and Veronica were a wonderful team . They made sure to tailor our experience to the interests and needs of our group. Highly recommend this experience!
Ramos was a very knowledgeable and patient guide. Enjoyed the time and learnt much about the culture and history
The tour guide was very enthusiastic and provided attentive service, and the driver drove very smoothly.
Amazing experience of ancient ruins but expect long drives and most likely traffic. The two attractions are far from each other so give yourself at least 7 hours.
Wow! We can't say enough good things about our experience. Ramon was so knowledgeable and knew the answer to every question we had. Him, along with his driver, Monte allowed us to take the tour at our own pace. We never felt rushed and could tailor the experience to what we wanted. He seemed generally excited to share all of his knowledge with us. Not only was it incredibly informational, but it was so much fun and exciting. The day went so smoothly with them taking care of every detail of our experience. Since there were protests outside of our hotel, they even met us in our lobby and walked us to where it was safe to be picked up. I would also highly recommend getting the included lunch, as even the meal was incredible overlooking the pyramids. We never felt pressured to stop at gift shops or to purchase things, but they were very flexible when we wanted to do so on our own accord. I can't recommend this experience enough! This was my second time booking this tour, and after experiencing as a solo traveler, I knew I wanted to do this again with my friend, and this time was even better than the last.
Both our guide and our driver were spectacular. Martha was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions as well! Would recommend if you can work with Martha to do so.
This was exactly what my group was looking for - A private tour that was catered to our specific needs; We had a specific time in mind to return home, and our incredible guide, Marta, was able to make it happen. The experience was completely seamless. A reminder email received the day before our reservation, asking that we confirm the tour the following day. On the morning of our tour, we opened our front gate at precisely our pick-up time to find Marta and our private van awaiting us on the street; It couldn't have been easier. Marta was helpful and kind, and her knowledge of the sites and the history of Mexico City in general was astounding. In our group of eleven, some had visited Teotihuacan and the Basilica before, while others had not, and at the end of our visit one of our group who had toured previously commented that Marta's commentary and expertise was far superior to what he had experienced on his prior visit. This tour is top-notch, and shouldn't be missed if you need a bespoke experience and/or truly care about the facts and information surrounding the destinations.
Marta was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Made this excursion a great experience. The pyramids are a must see.
We had a great experience overall with Roberto. He was patient with our 6-person family (all adults) who had various questions and interests. However, if you’re looking for an in-depth historical tour, you also need to visit the Museum of Anthropology. We were out for the entire day which was great and worth the cost, especially considering you get to visit 3 sites.
Great tour of Teotihuacan and Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe including delicious lunch. Our tour guide Veronica was fantastic. She spent the entire time providing us a history of the sites, details of cultural significance, tips for viewing, and lots of help with a 102-year old family member.
We greatly enjoyed having George as our guide, tons of knowledge and he was fun to talk to. The driver was great though I can’t recall his name! Loved seeing the pyramids which I’d wanted to see for so long! I gave it 5 starts to give George snd the driver the credit they deserved! However the food at lunch wasn’t great, and the staff at lunch wasn’t that friendly, Also didn’t care for the obsedian “tour” where there was pressure to buy something. Would have been better to have better lunch options but it’s also not an area with a lot of options!
We had a very full and information packed day with Roberto and Antonio. They led us through a thorough visit to Teotihuacan, the temples of the Sun and Moon, a visit to an obsidian workshop and the Guadalupe shrine.
Our tour guide, Marta, was amazing for the whole day as was our driver. It was such a treat to have such a knowledgeable guide and a driver who got us very safely from our Airbnb to each place we stopped. They picked us up right on time and provided so much information that my brain was FULL! The restaurant where we had lunch was very good and relaxing. I would absolutely use Mexico Tour Freelance again when I travel to CDMX.
This was an excellent tour from start to finish. Having a knowledgeable guide made a big difference, bringing the fascinating history of Teotihuacan to life and adding great context to such an incredible site. The additional stops at Tlatelolco and the Basilica of Guadalupe were also very worthwhile and added a lot to the overall experience. The lunch location was a great choice, with beautiful views of Teotihuacan. Transportation was in a proper van, which made the day much more comfortable. Everything was well organized, and I highly recommend this tour.
The tour of the pyramids was the highlight of our time in Mexico City and the stop at the Cathedral of Guadalupe complex was an unexpected delight. While the private tour was a little expensive, we found it worth the cost in a private car with a driver and separate guide made for a stress free day.
This was an excellent experience and a great way to see a few of Mexico City’s most iconic sites efficiently. The private tour made everything feel smooth and well-paced, which was especially appreciated since we were visiting on a work trip with limited time. Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic — knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. He shared helpful historical and cultural context at both Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Guadalupe without it feeling overwhelming or rushed. Transportation was comfortable, logistics were handled seamlessly, and we never felt stuck in large crowds. Teotihuacan was a highlight, and Carlos’s explanations around the pyramids really added depth and meaning to the visit. The Basilica of Guadalupe was equally impactful, and he did a great job explaining its significance while being respectful of the atmosphere. Overall, this tour was well-organized, informative, and a great fit for travelers who want a meaningful experience without the stress of planning. I’d absolutely recommend it — especially for business travelers or anyone short on time.
We toured Teotihuacán and the basilica with our guide Roberto. He took us above and beyond with a well timed detour on the cablebus on the way to the pyramids. We soared above the city and saw a whole new side (well, top) of CDMX. At Teotihuacán, Roberto knew the highlights, overlooked sights and his knowledge and connections made our time there fun and efficient. At the Basilica, he shared stories about all the churches both modern and ancient. This tour and this company really understand the sites they tour and give visitors a great experience. They got what we wanted to see and facilitated it easily. Thank you Roberto for a day we will never forget in a country filled with amazing sites and fantastic adventures.
Overall we’re happy with the tour. Our tour guide, George, had an incredible amount of knowledge. The transportation to and from all of the stops was very nice to have. They provided water, sunscreen, and hats if we needed it. I did feel a couple of times that our guide was trying to dissuade us from visiting a couple sites (because it was a crowded travel day), but it could have just been a misunderstanding. The lunch that was included was very sub-par, although the view of the pyramids was beautiful. I could have done without the obsidian tour, which is mostly just a gimmick to try and get you to buy stuff at their shop. Ultimately, the knowledge of our guide and private transportation made the tour worthwhile.
When we started this adventure, we had no idea the effect it would have on our family of 4. Bruno and Antonio were waiting for us outside our Airbnb when we stepped out of door. Bruno rushed to to introduce himself, so smiles and sincere warmth. Our first stop was Tlatelelco ruins, the church of Santiago, and the square where the 1968 massacre occurred. Bruno made the history over centuries come alive with his knowledge. Antonio's expert driving allowed us to nap off and on as we drove through the state of Mexico to the Teotihuacan pyramids. I can't express adequately in words as it felt to walk through what was once a bustling metropolis, filled with a mysterious people that we will never fully know about as they had no written language and virtually disappeared. Our athlete daughter raced to the steep stairway of the temple of the moon while the rest of us watched their ascent and careful descent. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch at a family run restaurant that was also an obsidian craft shop, and learned about and sampled pulque, an ancient drink made from the piña of the agave plant. We ended our tour at the Guadalupe cathedral complex, which was teeming with the faithful. A beautiful day, we would take a tour with Bruno and Antonio again and again. Bon día!! The Focht-Martorella family
This was a great tour. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable about the history and considerate about every person’s limitations and interests during the tour. We were a group of 8 people with some kids and elderly people. I would highly recommend the tour to others.
Carlos was great! Navigated the crowds masterfully and explained all the sights well. The lunch spot was good for a package tour spot.
Veronica was a great guide! She was super knowledgeable and I appreciated the broad range of facts she shared across our trip through Mexico city, Teotihuacan, and the basilica. The experience overall was incredibly smooth - the car pickups were all super well timed and it was so convenient! She also showed us a great local restaurant after Teotihuacán. Would highly recommend!
This was an excellent tour! Marta was an AWESOME guide and we appreciated her attentiveness and patience in answering our ongoing questions! We learned so much and never felt rushed. The driver was excellent and we felt safe in the vehicle at all times. It was definitely worth the extra money to take a private tour and highly recommend it!
We arranged to have this tour on Christmas day and were genuinely concerned as to how the tour would be given a religious holiday. It could have been better. Ramon, our tour guide and Luis, our driver made it an unforgettable Christmas. Ramon met us precisely at the designated pickup time in our hotel lobby. From that moment it was a non-stop educational journey of Mexican history; far more than just the destinations on the tour. My family learned more that day than in a lifetime. For an extra fee we chose to have lunch. This I highly recommend and extends the tour to 7 hours. The restaurant was close to the pyramids and the food was authentic and delicious. After lunch we learned about the tequila, obsidian and aloe from a local business owner. For those who appreciate a more intimate tour and don't mind paying extra for outstanding service I can't imagine a better tour operator. Thank you Ramon and Luis!
The guide, Carlos Calderon was very personable and knowledgeable. Juan Lopez , our driver was very attentive. It was one of my best days in the city.
It was private tour for just two of us, started around 10.00 am pickup from our airbnb location. The car was super clean. Complimentary water and chips and coke and sun cream etc. Our guide was super friendly and gave us lots of primary information about Mexico city and each stop points. Overall the whole tour took 4 hours, back to our airbnb. No hustle no stress. Just good vibes. No selling or lunch or extra stuff.
The guide was extremely informative and had a ton of information to share with us. Having the driver made a huge difference because it made moving from place to place much easier since the crowds were big. Definitely recommend it!
Overall Roberto was a good guide. I took off a point because he took us to several vendors at the pyramids who we felt pressured to purchase something from. The worst was a man selling rugs and table runners, he was very expensive and wouldn’t leave us alone.
Our tour to Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe was a truly wonderful day from start to finish. Our guide, Ramon, was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing history and cultural insights in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. His friendly, patient personality made the experience even more enjoyable. We never felt rushed and always felt well taken care of. Our driver was excellent as well—safe, professional, and smooth the entire journey. The combination of breathtaking sites and outstanding service made this tour one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended.
Worth the experience. Jorge was a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed spending the day learning from him. Our driver Arturo was extremely nice and an excellent driver. Definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide was friendly, but the major problem was that her English wasn’t good. She tried, but she was having trouble coming up with the right words in English. We also had trouble understanding what she was saying at times. It was just lucky that our daughter knows enough Spanish to help translate what she was trying to say at different points... I think the guide would have explained things better and showed us more on the tour if her English was better. She did apologise for her English at the end of the tour. We had no problem with her otherwise, - she was very pleasant - but when you are having a tour in English, you do expect the guide to be able to speak the language well enough.
Our tour was great. We were scheduled when a big protest was to come and the company reassured us they would navigate a route around. The driver and guide were awesome we made it to all the stops without issue. They even secured a reservation for us at the Gruta separately bc I really wanted to see that. Our guide was informative and everything was as described. Highly recommend the tour and if private they will customize it for you. We managed to make it to the basilica in time to watch some of the mass too!
This was a super interesting tour through the pyramids. We also enjoyed the Aztec site and obsidian factory. Roberto was very informative and Daniel kept us safe. A definite highlight was the lunch! Highly recommended. Note that the tour was described as being 6 hours long but it was actually 8 hours. Just something to confirm in advance.
Excellent experience! Marianna was our tour guide. She very knowledgeable and passionate while sharing the history of the regions we visited. We were intrigued and engaged throughout our tour. Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip!
Fabulous tour!! Definitely do the pyramids first as they close the area down earlier than the Shrine. We didn't have quite as much time at the pyramids because we requested doing the opposite order. Also, be sure to include the lunch! One of the best meals we had while in Mexico City. We sat outdoors with a view of the pyramids!! Food was authentic and service was excellent. Also enjoyed the shopping afterwards and story from guest host, Gabriel, regarding the ancient art of utilizing the rock Obsidian to make things. The pyramids were awe inspiring and so was the Guadalupe Shrine. The best thing about the whole tour was our guide Carlos!! He was so knowledgeable about everything we saw and he made us truly appreciate the Mexican culture and its history. Highly recommend this tour!!
Fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend these guys again. Bruno was a great guide. We had a great time.
Hi All, We just spent the day on this tour with Roberto as our guide and Daniel as our driver. I highly, highly recommend. They are both very personable and friendly and Roberto is extremely knowledgeable. Daniel is a great driver - we felt safe at all times. You will NOT be disappointed - believe me! We also included the lunch which was great food with a Teotihuacan flare in a beautiful restaurant with a view of the Sun Pyramid during our meal. Again, I highly recommend and if you should request Roberto and Daniel.
Amazing tour! Includes a lot of quality experiences. Our tour guide Jorge was extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the pyramids and other sites, and our driver Danny was cool too. The lunch was also good. Of the three tours we took in Mexico City this weekend, this one was probably the best value.
Great experience and thorough exposure to an amazing civilization. Carlos was fabulous, friendly and very knowledgeable.
We had a great adventure with our guide Roberto and driver Danielo. We did the special sites, the Teotihuacan/Aztec ruins, a much more comprehensive tour than the same type of tour we had in February of this year. All areas were covered. Roberto really knew the subject. The grand Basilica of Mary of Guadalupe was especially good as Roberto discussed details I had not heard before. And--as an added extra--Roberto took on a ride of one of the Mexicables, the city's sky trams. That was exciting, and totally unexpected! Best tour team in Mexico, Danielo our driver was safe, thoughtful and helpful .Highly recommended!
