Epic Is not enough to describe this experience...if you can budget this trip, you must do it! Driver and your guide are super friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and flexible. They moved us through the various stages of the tour so we would avoid busy spots. The hot spring, the caves, the blue river...the waterfalls...a bucket list item completed with a professional service. Highly highly recommended

Howard gave a great tour and was happy to answer any and all questions while Ricardo got us safely where we needed to go. Both were very happy to make sure our tour was everything we could have hoped for. The thermal pools were so relaxing and the river was an unreal shade of blue. Capped off the tour with a trip into a cave and grotto area!! Would recommend, well worth the long drive! I would suggest to bring water shoes, but we were able to stop at a shop along the way and get them and waterproof phone holders so we could get shots of everything (cash only in this area).

Howard was a great tour guide the entire day. Our group of friends loved the hot springs, caves and waterfalls. Howard also patiently took photos for our group of 5 girls all day. Our driver Ricardo got us to the Tolantongo safe and sound through a dense mist of fog super early in the morning too! Highly recommend this private tour!

Marvelous trip with Ricardo and Howard. They were super helpful and nice and informative. We enjoyed our time with them. The pools were beautiful, the river was beautiful, and the caves and tunnels were the best. The waterfalls were much larger and grander than what pictures can do justice. The included breakfast buffet was delicious. The restaurant we ate lunch at was also delicious. The bathrooms for changing afterwards are new and have showers. I recommend taking soap and shampoo. It is a long trip so I recommend going prepared with neck pillows so that you can sleep on the way there in the way back. They provide towels but I recommend you take an extra set of towels as well. This was a private tour for our family of four in a new car.

The hot spring was nice, the day we went, Cave was closed but the bad experience is because of the drive. The driver keeps turning off air flow, making the van hard to breathe and for a long drive like this, his skills had us getting car sick with tough gear shifting. Not to mention that the guide doesn’t even know where we’re going. Told us that we’ll stop by the valley for a photo, and when we arrived, they simply said they forgot. One of the worst experiences ever with the shuttle and the guide.

We had an amazing experience with Hermes and Carlos! They took us to Tolantongo and made the whole day effortless and enjoyable. Both were super accommodating while also giving us the space to relax and hang out on our own when we wanted—it never felt rushed. They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing so much history and great stories about each location we visited. On top of that, they gave us fantastic recommendations for other attractions and restaurants to check out during the rest of our trip, which made our time here even better. Truly couldn’t have asked for better guides—highly recommend!

Unreal! It is a bit of a trek to get there, but SOOOO worth it! The waterfalls, caves, and hot springs felt like it was out of a movie (avatar vibes). Hermes was our guide and did an outstanding job!

This was an amazing tour with beautiful views and amazing scenery. The Grottos, thermal baths and the river were amazing and I would have never able to see the things I saw if it wasn’t for our amazing tour guide Howard and our wonderful driver, Ricardo. These two were the dynamic duo. Howard was very knowledgeable and provided so much interesting information in history of Mexico City, and the surrounding areas as we headed to and from the thermal waters of Tolantongo . Our driver, Ricardo was very cautious, courteous, and helpful and got us to and from our destination safely. It was like taking a trip with family. Both Howard and Ricardo made us feel safe and provided us with the best experience possible.

First time to Mexico City with my husband and we decided to take a day trip to this beautiful and amazing place Grutas de Tolantongo. At the beginning both my husband and I were hesitant and scared to travel that far away from the city. But as soon as we met our driver Ricardo and Howard our tour guide, they introduced themselves and were very warm, welcoming and friendly and already we felt more at ease. Howard was very informative, he was sharing so many facts about the cities history and so much more. Ricardo was very accommodating. He had head pillows for us to be comfortable during our long drive to our destination. He asked us multiple times what music we wanted to listen to and if the temperature was ok for us. At the park they both had great food recommendations. While we were exploring the waterfalls and caves, Ricardo was kind enough to stay and watch over our belongings. While Howard walked us and helped us through caves. He made exploring the park very fun. They gave us plenty of time to be on our own to explore the river and pocitos. We had a blast and a worry free time, thanks to them. On our way back we had great conversations that made our trip fun and short. Thank you Ricardo and Howard You are the dream team.

We had amazing day with Hermes and Cynthia. Hermes was our guide and was very helpfull with everything we needed. And he gave us all the time to enjoy the caves, river and pools. He helped us making pictures in the water and made sure we had a wonderful lunch. Cynthia was an excellent driver and also very helpfull in the caves!! We will always remember this day because of them!

My guide Howard and our driver Ricardo were the best-knowledgeable, professional and friendly! We visited the pools, the cave, the waterfalls and the river. Everything was as described, including a great breakfast on the way and a delicious lunch at Tolantongo. It is quite a drive (thank you Ricardo) but absolutely worth it. It is unlike anyplace I have visited and I learned so much about the area from Howard.

Where to start this review? They messaged me the night before to confirm our pick up time from our hotel and added info. Ricardo, our driver, was there the next morning on the dot then we picked up our guide, Howard. We are so glad that we picked a private tour because we have the transportation to ourselves. We started a little early and Howard told us about the plans for the day. He is such a great guide. He told us histories and stories while on the road. First stop was at a breakfast buffet restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious. Yummy! Then back on the road and next stop was at a store where we bought some essentials like chips and water proof phone case. Back on the road to Grutas de Tolantongo. Also the road we took there were all paved. I think this was a longer route but was worth it because the shorter one is rough and bumpy. We reached our destination and Howard gave us a rundown of our itinerary. We tackled the pools, cave and river. We loved them all especially the cave exploration. Oh my God! It was such an adventure going in those caves. Howard went with us inside with his super bright flashlight and even showed us the secret spots. He volunteered to take photos and while we were inside, Ricardo was watching our things outside. We were spoiled by those two. Howard even let us explore on our own throughout the place without getting rushed. Howard would communicate with us openly and gave us choices what to do next. It’s not one of those tours that you just follow a set schedule. This private tour was worth every penny. Thank you so much Howard for making this trip soooo memorable. Thank you Ricardo for driving us safely to and from. On the way home, we stopped at a pastes (empanada) store and the pastes were super good. Book this tour, you won’t regret it. We had the most amazing tour to Tolantango. Howard was our guide and Carlos was our driver. They made the trip as comfortable as possible, were extremely thoughtful and helpful. Howard chatted to us about the history of Mexico City and of the e origins of the thermal springs. He was very informative. We spent time at the thermal pools, followed by the caves and we finished the day with swim in the river. It is the most beautiful area and I cannot recommend it enough. Despite us staying longer in the cave and the river Carlos and Howard never rushed us and were extremely accommodating. I cannot recommend this experience enough. We had an amazing day. We had a fabulous time on our trip to Grutas de Tolantongo. Our guide and driver were excellent and the whole place is just stunning. We loved relaxing in the turquoise water of the pools and spending time in the cave. The current in the river is very fast. Definitely go early and on a weekday to avoid the crowds. It's worth the drive from Mexico City!
