Francisco was fantastic! Insightful, sincere, thoughtful and leaned into my interests during the tour. Highlight recommend and so grateful that I booked this!
Our tour with Francisco was wonderful. He has a great laid back attitude that is very welcoming. We felt relaxed with him and not rushed and that really allowed us to enjoy our surroundings and all the history he provided. We've been on many group tours and really appreciated having this for just us. It's really the best way to get an introduction to a city.
Francisco was extremely knowledgeable and made tour very interesting. He brought elements of history, politics and religion that shaped Mexico of today. He was able to weave these interesting facts into a fascinating tour.
We had an amazing time with our tour guide Francisco. Not only is he a wonderful person, he is well educated and super knowledgeable. Every place we visited was filled with culture and without Francisco’s explanation with their history it would not have had the same impact. I fully recommend him to everyone wishing to expand their knowledge of this country. We feel fortunate to have had him as our guide.
Definitely Book this Tour with Francisco…..you will not regret it! Great Historian not just of Mexican Culture but Spanish, Aztecan and Mayan Cultures and how they intertwined. Very fun & Knowledgeable….bonus-Francisco gave Us a list of all his favorite restaurants and his favorite dishes. Have gone on many Viator Tours and this was top 5!
Exceptional tour with Francisco - he is truly knowledgeable of all things CDMX, history, the arts and just has an overall amazing vibe. The tour guide makes or breaks the experience, and Francisco delivered along with some great post tour recommendations.
Francisco was an excellent guide—friendly, personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. What made the tour special was his ability to show us a side of Mexico City that most tourists, and probably even many locals, would never notice on their own. The tour felt very personal rather than like a scripted walking tour. Francisco tailored the experience to our interests and took the time to explain the history, architecture, people, and small details behind the places we visited. My wife and I learned quite a bit about the city and its history that we simply wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Four hours went by surprisingly quickly because the conversation was just as enjoyable as the tour itself. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would absolutely recommend Francisco’s private Mexico City tour to anyone who wants to go beyond the typical tourist sights and better understand the city.
This was an excellent tour of downtown Mexico City, combined with a thoughtful and balanced introduction to the history of the city and the country, with the lovely Francisco. My partner and I were saying to ourselves afterwards that we wished we were able to spend more time talking with and getting to know Francisco! One of the best walking tours I've ever been on.
This was a fabulous tour! Francisco is super knowledgeable, and we learned so much throughout the tour. We visited many places we would not have found on our own. Francisco was kind enough to take photos of us throughout the tour and follow up with recommendations of places to eat and things to do the rest of our trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in diving deeper into the history of the city!
We did the historic walking tour in Mexico City and had an excellent experience with our guide, Francisco. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Centro Histórico and explained everything in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. We especially appreciated how he pointed out details we would have completely missed on our own and gave great local food recommendations afterward. The pace was comfortable. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Mexico City for the first time.
We spent an entire day with him, enjoying all the sights in the historic heart of Mexico City. His love and knowledge of Mexican history, architecture and art were apparent in his discussions with us. He is passionate and very conversational. And, he is a foodie with many ideas for local restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and highly recommend his services.
Francisco is a great story teller. He is not only knowledgeable about the various sites, but also Mexican history.
We had an incredible experience on this four-hour private walking tour. Our guide put together something truly special and my wife and I learned so much and saw a side of CDMX that we really appreciated, We highly recommend this tour and thank you to our wonderful guide!
Francisco is extremely knowledgeable about Mexico City and he is also a great conversationalist who was able to personalize the tour to our interests. I greatly enjoyed my tour with Francisco and I believe you will too!
We went with the four hour option and Francisco was an excellent guide. Lots of walking, learned a lot. Mexico City is huge and it takes a while to get to everything. We would recommend the shorter options as the 4 hour was nearly 1:1 walking to talking.
Wonderful experience that I highly recommend! We got to see the highlights in a short time and was history was brought to life in an interesting and stimulating manner. Do yourself a favor and book this trip!.
It was exceeding expectations tour. Francesco is real gem. Knowledgeable, gentle and warm. With great love to Mexico, he showed the best of the city center through its architecture and art. Our conversations were rich and memorable. Thanks a lot!
Fantastic experience! Francisco was knowledgeable, friendly, fun to hang out with, and generous with his time. We learned a ton and saw incredible art and architecture. He has a deep knowledge of the city and its history and is a wonderful storyteller able to bring it all to life. Very highly recommended!
Absolutely loved this historical tour of Mexico City with award-winning author Francisco. It offered such a unique perspective on the city. Francisco took us through incredible courtyards and places I’m sure many locals have never seen—hidden courtyards, stunning art exhibitions, “the secret Diego,” and the amazing library with Vladý murals. We ended up asking to extend the tour—two hours will absolutely leave you wanting more. We should have booked four. Beyond the tour itself, Francisco shared countless suggestions on how to make the most of our time in Mexico City. We’ll definitely be taking him up on those and clearly need to come back. Feeling incredibly fortunate to have chosen this tour. Thank you!
We truly enjoyed the 4 hours we spent with Francisco. We felt like we were on a secret tour, experiencing parts of Mexico City that not everyone gets to see nor learn about. It was relaxing and stress-free. A perfect investment in time & $!
Francisco gave us a wonderful tour of the Historic District of Mexico City. Our correspondence on What’s Ap prior to the tour was helpful and our meeting point was easy to find. During the tour we saw places we expected and other places we did not. That made the tour even better than we expected. He provided unique and thoughtful information for every aspect of the tour, and even included a great stop for tacos. After the tour he sent us recommendations for restaurants and other activities. Every aspect of this tour exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend it.
Francisco’s private tour of downtown CDMX was a real treat. He’s exceptionally knowledgeable on MX history, architecture and art.
Francisco was so knowledgeable and friendly. He catered the tour to what we wanted to see and took us to the hidden gems of Mexico City. We loved this tour. Definitely worth it.
Great walking tour covering the key areas of the city . Francisco took us to the less well advertised areas. He is very well spoken.
Really really excellent walking tour. This isn’t your usual “I’ve learned a few interesting tidbits of Mexican history” walking tour. Francisco is a very brilliant and knowledgeable guy, was happy to answer questions from all of us, tailored the trip to what we hadn’t already seen and was incredibly informative. I wish I had booked a longer tour! He is a super thoughtful guy. Really couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Great diverse experience. Francisco covered architecture, history, art of the city. Very knowledgeable but even better so enjoyable to be with. Best one on one tour I ever had in 3o years traveling around the world. Would highly recommend a tour with him.
Spending 4 hours with Francisco walking in El Centro de CDMX was like spending a wonderful afternoon with a very knowledgeable friend. He was informed and talked about historical facts and their political ramifications. He was curious about each of us three as human beings and asked good questions, integrating his narrative to our interests. He brought his love of and knowledge about poetry to the poets and artists whose work we viewed in various exhibitions. And last but not least, we went to his favourite taco shop in Mexico and introduced us to Aztec tacos! He gets my top rating!!
Francisco was a great tour guide, who speaks very good English. He communicated with me before our trip even started, and the tour felt very personal. We enjoyed his dialogue and knowledge of history. I would recommend scheduling this tour early in your trip, as he also provided recommendations for food, culture, and sightseeing for the rest of our stay.
Francesco was great! Extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him
Our private tour with Francisco was absolutely incredible and easily the highlight of our time in Mexico City. He brings a level of insight, nuance, and storytelling that transforms a simple walk through the city into a rich and unforgettable journey. What stood out most was how he wove together history, culture, politics, and personal anecdotes with clarity and depth. He doesn’t just show you the landmarks—he helps you understand the layers of meaning behind them, the stories you’d never find in a guidebook. You can feel how much he loves and understands this city. Francisco was warm, engaging, and completely tailored the experience to our interests and pace. He welcomed all of our questions and made us feel like we were exploring the city with an old friend. If you want more than just a sightseeing tour—if you want a meaningful, intellectually stimulating, and truly personal experience—don’t miss this tour with Francisco. It was an honor to spend time with him, and we left inspired and more connected to Mexico City than we ever expected.
Francesco is a really knowledgable profesional guide. He doesnt just show the main turist spots but also some hidden gems. At the same time he tunes in to your needs at preferences and adapts to that. I had a very pleasant experience with him and recomend him fully.
Francisco is a wonderful tour guide. We really enjoyed our time with him. He is very knowledgeable about the city and it's history.
Book this tour immediately! After our tour ended, my husband and I both agreed this was the best walking tour we’ve ever done. Francisco made us feel like we were truly walking around the city with a friend. He brought the city to life for us in a way nobody has done for us on a walking tour. His knowledge of the history, art and culture of the city is impressive. I also appreciated how he took the time after the tour to send us recommendations for the rest of our stay in the city.
I had a great 4-hour tour with Francisco, seeing parts of the city I had not seen before including treasures inside several public buildings. Francisco is personable and friendly. He speaks nearly perfect English, and Spanish, of course. He provided great insight into history, art and architecture in a personal, informal tone as if we had been friends for a long time. We stopped for tacos at a little restaurant and also had a couple bathroom/rest breaks. I especially enjoyed the Diego Rivera murals at the Secretaria de Educacion. The tour was easy to schedule, and Francisco provided clear instructions before the tour about when and where to meet. (Leave a little extra time to get to the meeting place in the morning in case there is traffic.) He also recommended a good place to catch an Uber back to my hotel. Highly recommended!
Francisco is a great guide. Personable, knowledgeable, and funny. He made it a point to have one-on-one time with each of the four of us to get to know us, which was appreciated ... and rare. He will customize a tour to fit your wishes. We wanted to see the Belles Artes and the Post Office, so he planned our route to see those and some other amazing spots. Definitely add the Museo Vivo del Muralismo to your itinerary. He took us there (never heard of it) and we experienced dozens of floor-to-ceiling Diego Rivera murals. He also took us to some tucked-away gems that I bet aren't on run-of-the-mill tours. A two or three hour tour is probably optimum. NOTE: we didn't get inside the Post Office or Belles Artes because is was Monday and all museums are closed on Monday whether on a tour or self-guided.
Proper brilliant it was – a solid four hours that completely changed my perspective on the city. You know, you think you know a place, but he really opened our eyes to the magic of it all. Honestly, Francisco’s got this way of weaving poetry into his storytelling, making everything come alive. It was funny too – we were chuckling away while soaking in all the incredible sights and tales he had to share. This tour wasn’t just surface-level; it had real depth, opening up a side of the city we’d never even thought about. It was like discovering a hidden gem right under your nose, innit? And can we talk about the tacos? He took us to some of the best ones I’ve ever had – proper tasty, dripping with flavour! I reckon I could have gobbled up a million of ’em. Francisco also snapped some cracking photos of my wife and me – really captured the spirit of the day. Lastly, he recommended this superb okonomiyaki restaurant that we just had to try – and I must say, it did not disappoint! All in all, if you’re ever in Mexico City, you’ve gotta take this tour with Francisco. It’s a right adventure, and your perception of the city will never be the same again! Pure class, mate! Cheers!
My walking tour with Francisco was the highlight of my trip! I got to see several of the historic landmarks on my list as well as some hidden gems — but through Francisco’s insightful lens. He’s super knowledgeable and a beautiful storyteller; he married the city’s history with the CDMX of today in everything we saw, and in stories of Mexico’s geography, architecture, economy, politics, arts. It was the absolute perfect way to experience the city’s historic center. I booked a two hour tour because of my schedule but I wish I’d done longer! Francisco was very easy to talk with - he’s lived all over the world and you can tell! He’s curious, patient, easygoing, and a natural curator of amazing experiences for people. He also gave me some great food options nearby and a concert to check out!
Francisco is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Mexico City. He also knows about some hidden gems that we would not have discovered on our own. I highly recommend booking him if you want a first class experience in one of the most exciting cities in the world.
Absolutely fantastic! Better than expected (which is always nice)! It never felt like we were on a cookie cutter tour with a memorized script, but more like we were visiting a good friend who was l axing us on an adventure to experience his city. The hours flew by as we meandered through the historic center, learning some history, art, and -oh! - eating unique and delicious tacos in a little “hole in the wall)! Francisco tailored our day to us answering all our questions, delving deeper in conversations that blossomed. From the itinerary, the cultural experiences. historical context, and his travel background, im co didn’t all who wander with Francisco will feel lucky to have had Francisco as a guide!! If there a places you for sure want to see (or do not want to see), let him know! Otherwise, just go and let the day flow! PS Sign up for as long as you can afford! It’s time well spent and you won’t be sorry:)
If you are looking for an extremely knowledgable, funny, and easy going guide, to take you on an intimate journey through the historic center of Mexico City, look no further than Francisco! He spent over 4 hours showing us parts of Mexico City that we would not have found on our own. He was very accommodating to our wants, which included an impromptu shopping session at a luxurious textile store, and our needs, which included one too many restroom stops. He moved at just the right pace so we never felt rushed or bored and his command of the English language was impressive. Half way through our tour, Francisco took us to one of his favorite local lunch spots where we were treated to some of the best tacos of our week long trip! While on our tour, Francisco overheard me asking my husband to keep track of the places we were visiting. The next day, unsolicited, an extremely detailed itinerary of our 4 plus hour long tour, along with links to google maps, arrived in my inbox. This is just one of many examples of Francisco's thoughtfulness. I only wish that I had thought to book this tour at the beginning of my stay in Mexico City, rather than at the end, so that I could take more advantage of Francisco's insights and recommendations.
Wonderful tour of the center city We saw many of the highlights history culture and food Highly recommended
My family and I had a great time learning about the historic district with Francisco! The stories he told about the history and meaning of the different buildings and sites we saw were informative and entertaining, bringing life and context to this fascinating and ever changing part of Mexico City.
Excellent walking tour with Francisco! He was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He answered all of our questions and was flexible during the tour to accommodate our wants. Would highly recommend when visiting Mexico City. Try to schedule a tour with him at the beginning of your trip as he also provided a list of recommended activities and restaurants for the other days we were staying in the city!
Very informative walk with an excellent and knowledgeable guide visiting both the highlights and some fantastic buildings we would never have known about otherwise in the historic center. Francisco was so good at providing historical references and tying them to things we are experiencing on our trip. Highly recommended!
I had the pleasure of taking a private tour of Mexico City with Francisco, an award-winning poet, and it was an unforgettable experience. Francisco is not only passionate about his city, but he also lives in the very historical city center neighborhood he walks you through, making his insights feel personal and authentic. From the rich history of the Aztec era to the striking architecture of the Deco era, Francisco seamlessly guides you through time, offering fascinating details and stories along the way. His passion for the city and its history is evident in every stop, and he has an incredible ability to bring the city's past to life. If you're looking to dive deep into the heart of Mexico City’s history and culture, this tour is a must. Francisco's knowledge, passion, and love for the city shine throughout, making this a truly special experience!
Definitely one of the best walking tours I’ve ever done! Francisco who’s from CDMX has perfect English and a vast knowledge of the cities culture and history. Of course the main attractions are covered on the tour but as Franciscos a local he also brings you to really unique non touristic attractions that are less well known and super interesting. Not to mentioned excellent recommendations for the best food, bars and activities. So valuable in a huge city with so many options. I would definitely recommend this walking tour. To get all the best info and guidance about CDMC.
I had an absolute ripper of a walking tour in Mexico City with Francisco, a top-notch writer and all-around legend. He took us through the historic center with such flair, weaving in fascinating stories and local gems. At the end of the tour, he pointed us to this amazing soul food restaurant that served up the best feed I've had in ages. We ended up hanging out with him, listening to Herbie Hancock on some seriously impressive audiophile equipment. It was a cracking experience from start to finish, and I can't recommend Francisco's tour enough.
Francisco was a great guide and showed us many hidden treasures that we would not have found on our own. He had great museum, music and restaurant recommendations
The walking tour with Francisco was A+++. His knowledge of the city's history made the experience truly captivating. He had an effortless way of weaving stories and historical facts that kept me thoroughly engaged. By the end, I felt like I had been time-traveling all day. I can't wait to book again with him. To top it all off, when I told him that I am passionate about music, he recommended a fabulous underground jazz club for the evening, which turned out to be an absolute gem.
