We had an excellent private tour of Chapultepec Castle with Jorge on Tuesday (7/7), and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jorge is incredibly knowledgeable and informative. He studied History in college, and it definitely shows. He guided us through the castle floor by floor, explaining the history behind nearly every room, exhibit, and significant piece we encountered. His passion for the subject made the castle come alive, and we left with a much deeper understanding of Mexico's history. Beyond that, Jorge was funny, personable, and full of jokes that kept the tour engaging. He never rushed us and took the time to answer all of our questions, making the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. After the tour, he generously shared a list of his favorite local cafés, restaurants, and places to visit, which we really appreciated. We even learned he was planning to go salsa dancing that evening, which somehow perfectly matched his warm, energetic personality. Today we toured Chapultepec Castle with a large group of friends. Our guide Jorge Ramirez was very knowledgeable of Mexican history and the story of the castle. He was entertaining and sometimes funny and made the whole experience quite enjoyable. Definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting CDMX.

I do not recommend this tour. Maybe our issue is limited to our specific guide, but I booked this tour based on the 5 star reviews by over 100 people. However, we did not receive a 5 star experience. Our tour guide was a few mins late and didn’t have our tickets purchased prior to his arrival. So he spent our entire walk to the castle on his phone buying them, not interacting with us at all. We talked to him more than he talked to us. We immediately felt unwelcome and like he was only giving us a tour to check us off his list for the day. Then when we got to the entry to scan our tickets, he got his phone out to scan his ticket and didn’t show our tickets at the entry point. So we had to dig our phone out of our bag as he walked into the castle. I will say the tour got better as it went on, but it was very average. The initial 20 mins that we had with our guide set the tone. I would recommend a tour guide as they can provide helpful context in addition to what is included on site. Overall would not recommend booking this tour specifically.

Jorge communicated very well before and after our private tour. His english was wonderful, and his ability to navigate our foursome on a Saturday was impressive. He even was able to speak some Spanish for our friend who speaks mainly that. He took photos of our group, and moved at our pace. I can highly recommend Jorge and his services.

We had a wonderful tour with Jorge. He had a nice energy and overall was a terrific host navigating this busy tourist attraction. He gave us a great review of the history and was great about sharing the pertinent points without overdoing it. FYI it is quite a walk to the actual castle and in total the timeframe from meetup to end was 2.5 hours.

The castle itself is stunning, but what made the experience truly special was Jorge’s depth of knowledge and storytelling. Jorge was an incredible guide; smart, funny, and super knowledgeable about the history of the castle and its past inhabitants. My husband and I have done castle tours in other countries before and he’s by far the best guide we’ve encountered. The palace has a ton of history that we wouldn't have known about without the tour. Jorge is super knowledgable and made the tour fun and memorable. Jorge was the best guide we had on all of our tours in Mexico City. We did this on our last day in the city and wish we had done it sooner so we could have done more tours with Jorge. He was so knowledgeable, personable and provided a great experience. The castle had amazing art, architecture, history, and views of the city as well. Jorge was a delight! He was so kind and very communicative via WhatsApp before the trip began. He even gave us recommendations in the area. I had come to La DF in 2017, and took a tour to Chapultepec, but this one was more in depth and kept us interested the entire time. We really enjoyed Jorge’s knowledge of history and personal perspective. I would definitely take this tour again and recommend.
Jorge was an amazing tour guide! He did a great job communicating with me before hand and offering alternatives for the climb as the elevator was not working and I was nervous with the walk up due to my asthma. He offered wheelchairs but I opted to walk and checked on me and we took breaks on our way up. When we made it he was so insightful and shared so much history, all while cracking jokes! He had a timeline and photos he referred to that added a lot of context and as we explored he would refer back to them. He answered all our questions and we loved how interactive it was! I highly recommend booking this experience early in your visit as it helps add color to the rest of your explorations around Mexico City.
This is a must-do when visiting CDMX! The castle is an amazing trip back in time to colonial days in the new world. Our guide Jorge was amazing! His knowledge and passion made our visit so much more special and memorable. We learned so much from him and we came away with are deeper appreciation for our visit. We had another excursion right after this one and were pressed for time but Jorge helped us navigate our way on the metro and helped us find our next meeting spot. Now that is service! I highly recommend this excursion and if you book it, be sure to ask for Jorge as your guide!
