We had an amazing experience on our couples tour of Xochimilco and Coyoacán! Our tour guide, Pedro, was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and made the entire experience fun and memorable. One of the highlights was enjoying a beautiful mariachi performance together, which made the experience even more romantic and special. Pedro went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, enjoying ourselves, and getting the most out of our time in Mexico City. Everything was well organized, and we never felt rushed. It was the perfect combination of culture, sightseeing, music, and romance. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend this tour, and especially Pedro, to any couples visiting Mexico City. Thank you, Pedro, for making our day so unforgettable!

Itinerary
Xochimilco is one of the most emblematic places in Mexico City and a World Heritage Site. In this experience you will sail aboard a colorful traditional trajinera for about 1 hour through its canals surrounded by chinampas (floating islands). During the tour you can enjoy live music (mariachis, trios or marimbas), buy cravings, flowers or crafts from other trajineras, and soak up the festive atmosphere that characterizes it. It is a time to relax, take unique photos and live a centuries-old tradition. Our guide will explain the origin of this site and answer any questions. An ideal activity for all ages, perfect for those looking for a connection between nature, culture and the living history of Mexico.
After the ride in Xochimilco, we will move to Coyoacán, one of the most beautiful and traditional neighborhoods of Mexico City. Our guide will take you on a walking tour to discover its cobblestone streets, squares, colonial churches and spaces full of art and culture. You will know the history of this iconic place, its famous characters, and you can visit its famous market where you will find crafts, books, typical sweets and dishes such as toast, churros and hot chocolate. Plus, you’ll have free time to take photos, explore on your own, or just relax on one of its colorful benches. Coyoacán is the cultural heart of the south of the city, with a bohemian and welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel like in a small town within the big city.
We finish with a very special stop in front of one of the most visited places in Mexico: the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as La Casa Azul. This tour includes an outside stop so you can take a photograph in front of its iconic cobalt blue facade and learn about Frida Kahlo’s life, her home and her artistic legacy. If you just want to take your picture and listen to the guide's explanation, the estimated stop time is 15 minutes. In case you want to enter on your own, you must have a previously purchased ticket, and the tour inside the museum takes about 1 1/2 hours. Admission is not included in this tour, but our guide will be able to guide you if you decide to return another day. An ideal stop to bring you a unique memory of the most iconic Mexican artist.

This tour was awesome!! I loved the boat ride so much. Everyone was very nice and it was super relaxing and peaceful. Our guide for the day was so kind and helpful. This is a great way to spend the day in CDMX.
Unfortunately it was the worse experience I’ve ever had on a trip. From the beginning to the end it was a complete caos. I t ruined our day, it ruined the experience and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR TO ANYONE.
Pedro was awesome! Very informative and friendly. I would definitely recommend.
Fabian Parra provided exceptional customer service! He was friendly, professional, and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire experience. We truly appreciated his kindness and attention. If we’re ever back in Mexico, we will definitely be booking with him again. Highly recommend!
We (2 seniors, 1 millennial) took this tour on a free day in Mexico City before leaving on a guided multi-day tour. This tour was to fill in places we weren't going to on our big tour. This tour was somewhat deceptive. I booked it under the option of Optional Frida Kahlo tour, but there was no option to buy tickets or go into the house other than to stand outside for a few seconds. Had I known this, I would have bought tickets myself and Ubered. Unfortunately, for us, this tour was mostly driving through heavy city traffic with no explanations. The tour company, Aria, hired the owner's brother, and he was driving the car and it was his first time. He was a Colombian native, newly arrived in Mexico City. So the tour guide spent the entire tour training him. This included him explaining how to use the GPS on his phone through Mexico City. We were not told this until we were in the car. BTW, the tour guide, Pedro, was a lovely man and this was not his fault. We first drove to Xochimilco for the boat ride. Pedro provided an excellent narrative about the trajinera tradition and area history. We enjoyed this, except at the end, when trapped on the boat, one of the tour company's associates suddenly whipped out a tray of jewelry. My opinion is that I didn't pay for a sales pitch where I couldn't ask the vendor to leave. After this, we drove to Coyoacán, where we were dropped off for several hours. It would have been nice to have had an actual guided tour, whereas we had to google the area to discover various sights such as Hernan Cortez' home, etc. Finally we stopped in front of the Casa Azul for a quick photo. All in all, not worth it. Better to take a cab or Uber and DIY. And note to the tour provider: train on your own time, please.
Good tour with Pedro as guide and Fabian as driver. Knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating.
We had a seamless journey with Pedro. He was pleasant and punctual and we appreciated the flexibility in the timings as we chose the private tour. However, it didn't feel so much like a "tour" as we only had some explanations given in Xochimilco and in Coyoacan it was mostly free time for us to explore and taking us to the Frida Kahlo museum as we had book tickets. Xochimilco might be best to enjoy in a group of friends to soak up the atmosphere in the afternoon or at the weekend but we didn't find much interest in the boat ride on a quiet morning.
We had a great time, this was our first time in Mexico City and we found him I definitely recommend this tour. Very safe and they were on time, they were very professional, attentive and extremely friendly!
Great experience! Super convenient and we had the loveliest tour guide. PSA you have to buy the Frida khalo ticket separately.
It was very well-paced. There was adequate time allotted for each stop so that we didn’t feel hurried. Pedro was a wonderful guide - interesting, knowledgeable, helpful, and great company. We will recommend Pedro to anyone we know who visits Mexico City.
It was amazing loved my tour guides! RAFA Y MARI were the best! So humble and caring 😌
The tour was amazing, I recommended for Families with kids. It was a really good 6 hrs. Of tourist, shopping and we even had the chance for churros and cocktails. Pedro Rivas was amazing guy and tour guide. You’re going to learn a lot about the historic of Xochimilco and Coyoacan from Pedro. Pedro is a 5 star tour guide
Our guide, Rafael, was punctual and knowledgeable. We enjoy learning about history and culture and he definitely shared both along the way. He was also attentive to our needs and was flexible as my mom wasn't feeling well. The tour itself met the expectations as described in TripAdvisor.
From pick up at our hotel to drop off Pedro provided a fantastic experience providing insight to local customs and lifestyle. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour at Xochimilco and free time at the colourful market and San Juan Bautista Cathedral in Coyoacan, followed by a quick stop at Frida Kahlo's Blue House. Thanks to Pedro for provided a most enjoyable day. We highly recommend this tour.
Pedro was our driver and he was great! Our large group of 10 had a wonderful time and he was a delight. He also helped us manage the ordering for everything we needed and all our extra bathroom stops. The trajinera ride was a lot of fun and they even helped us get a trajinera customized with our birthday boy’s name. Would recommend!
Pedro was an excellent guide I enjoyed the canal tour and the walking around coyoacan Very comfortable car and we had a good chat on the wag
I had a great tour of Xochilmilco and Coyoacan. Pedro was a great English speaking guide with knowledge of the history and legend of the area. Would highly recommend
Transportation to and Fro Xochimilco was convenient, but that’s about it. This was the most boring tour I ever went on Viator. I’ve booked multiple trips on Viator and this is the worst so far. I learnt nothing about xochimilco, Coyoacán or Frida’s house on this trip. Please don’t book this trip if you are truly wanting an informative guided trip.
We had such an amazing time on this tour! Pedro was an excellent guide! He picked us up on time and went above and beyond to accommodate our stroller. The boat ride was so beautiful and peaceful. There were local vendors that sold food and drinks on the ride! We had about 1.5 hours to walk around the town to Coyoacan, which was such a cute town, I just wish we had more time to spend there. We had just enough time to eat some lunch at a local restaurant called Mi Compa Chava (Best Seafood I have had in my life). Overall the whole experience was worth it and highly recommend.
Our driver was great. On time and concerned about our event. The Xochimilco gardens that we saw on this outing were not so great. A longer tour out of the commercial chaos might be a better choice.
Guide did not speak English at all well. Further he could not explain why Xochimilco was worth visiting and other basic facts.
This trip was not at all what I expected (in a positive way!). Guillermo (our tour guide) was great! I want to make it known that our guide was in Spanish. Let me start by saying Guillermo text me the night before to confirm our pick up location and time. The morning of our trip he text me to let me know he would be arriving soon. His car was very clean and well kept. He has great driving skills and got us safely to all our destinations. My mother enjoyed the trip and so did I. **Guillermo was with us for almost the entire trip. The only time we separated was when we were in the church.
Pedro was an excellent tour guide. Very informative and flexible. Pedro era un guía excelente. Muy informativo y flexible. También, el remero Paco era muy divertido y amable.
was a terrific trip for when you are short on time visiting Mexico City. Rafael picked us up at our hotel and took us around the town to the Xochimilco Boats and then to the Coyacán district and the Frida Kahlo blue house. he was nice enough to drop us in Zocalo instead of back to our hotel
Great experience. Had a great experience on the boat in Xochilmilco and exploring Coyoacán.Pedro made this trip excellent. He was on time extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend booking with them any time. Thanks Diego amazing experience. John and Miguel
Great experience! The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, and made the entire visit fun, smooth, and memorable from start to finish
The trajineras were very interesting. It was peaceful cruising the canals in the early morning with the wildlife and flowers around us. Rafael was very kind and informative. The tour could have been improved by our guide providing more information along the way. More English would have been appreciated.
Pedro was an excellent driver and guide. We loved our canal tour. It was so interesting and beautiful. We continued to the Frida Kahlo museum.
Our guide/conductor Rafael Zarraga was really insightful and a great driver. Shared history about xochimilco and knowledge of our stops. Would highly recommend. Great way to spend a day in Mexico city.

This tour is a complete scam. You spend more time in a vehicle than actually enjoying Xochimilco and Coyoacán. Not only did we spend most of the time in traffic we also had to wait on another driver to get there with 2 other guest. This tour is not enough time.
Pedro is the absolute best!!! He is so kind and has such a good spirit!! Easily the best tour guide! The tour itself was fun for all ages! I wish the boat experience lasted longer! The artisanal town was a great experience as well, I wouldn’t have known about it if it wasn’t on this tour. Unfortunately, we couldn’t visit the Frida Museum due to being sold out until January 13, but we still got to take pictures from the outside.
Our tour guide: Pedro made our day. He picked us up in a timely manner and communicated well. He was really good with taking us to the locations we were supposed to go to and engaged the group. I would ask for Pedro if booking this reservation.
Our guide Pedro is very responsive to all the questions we have before and during the tours. Highly recommend this tour!
Beautiful time! The scenery was something I’ll never forget! It’s an experience to remember and cherish. Our boat driver was great
Nice tour with Rafael and our boat driver was very fun and friendly. I would recommend this tour! It is a must! They have drinks to buy while on the boat.
Pedro was timely and very nice, also an excellent driver. The places were just underwhelming, though Xochimilco is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While I was hoping for more Mexican history and cultural immersion, the sites were mainly about selling touristy trinkets and souvenirs. I would have liked to go to the more natural portions of the canal and learn more about the history of the canals. There was no contextual history, just floating for an hour. The only fortunate aspect was that we went in the morning, before the boats became party scenes. Coyoacan was pretty generic, almost indistinguishable from other touristy town centers...So many more interesting places to visit than this tour....I don't understand the glowing reviews.
The tour was amazing! Pedro was our guide and he was absolutely incredible, so nice and kind. I would highly recommend giving the tour a try while your in the city!
We had a great morning with Daniel exploring all the sights on this tour. The boat ride was really enjoyable and exploring the Frida Kahlo neighbourhood was great. He had some great recommendations for lunch, coffee and churros in the area. Would recommend!
I had the pleasure of touring with Pedro, he was generous and funny. Kind. He went at our own pace. It was a wonderful relaxing experience. Just the right amount of history. This experience is a Nice ice breaker in seeing Mexico City if you want something lowkey. I would suggest this as a first day tour when visiting Mexico City.
Good time. Pedro was real informative and you could tell his love for the city as he explained the history of it…………………….
Had a shared tour with Pedro. Pedro kept us informed since the day before the trip of our pickup times. He was perfectly on time. We started in Xochimilco and he explained everything about the area. We then went to Coyoacan and he gave us time to see the area freely. Highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky you might also have Pedro as your guide.
Great tour on the boats and of the market! Really enjoyed this tour and learned a lot. It was well worth the time!
This tour was one of the worst experiences we’ve had with Viator. They crammed the three of us into a small SUV with three strangers, turning a one-hour drive into a very uncomfortable ride. At Xochimilco, instead of enjoying the experience, we spent the entire time being pushed to buy souvenirs, food, and extras from every direction. It was early in the morning and we were the only tourists there, so all the attention (and pressure) was on us. It felt nothing like a relaxing cultural visit. After that, they dropped us off in Coyoacán with zero guidance. The tour advertises the Frida Kahlo Museum, which is completely misleading. The museum was closed that day, and even if it had been open, the tour does NOT include tickets. Tickets must be booked at least a month in advance, which the tour description doesn’t mention at all. So we were left wandering Coyoacán alone for two hours, something we could have easily done ourselves by Uber for a sixth of the price. We paid $180 for three people, and the entire experience felt like a total scam. We absolutely do not recommend this tour.
Do not go , complete waste of time . not worth seeing . guide did not explain anything , contrary to what Tripadvisor said . I am surprisd Tripadvisor would even promote this trip.
Our group of 7 had a wonderful day. Private tour is the way to go. Communication was great, prompt pick up at our hotel - Pedro our tour host was awesome, shared fun facts about the areas and helped us communicate with our Boat Captain and food vendors. He tailored our tour to make sure we returned to our hotel on time for a wedding celebration. If in Mexico City book this trip to ride the canals on a trajinera - Tranquil and Festive vibes! Mariachi bands, cook to order tacos and casillas. margaritas pure Mexico. (Be sure to bring small denomination pesos) Pedro also took us to vibrant Coyoacán. The neighborhood of Frida Kahlo. Cute markets and vibe. This tour was a highlight to our Mexico City visit.
Pedro was great. Providing lots of historical detail and information of the city and sites. Gave us not only the transportation but knowledge of the sites visiting. Definitely recommended!
We had a great experience. We did two tours with Pedro and the trips were amazing. Pedro is friendly, punctual and very helpful. He provided information for us to make a decision that worked best for us. He wasn’t pushy and pleasant to be with all day. Will definitely ask for him when I come back.
We had a great time with our guide and driver Pedro. Pedro was very friendly, engaged and accommodating of us with a 2 year old child.
