Eddie was a great guide for our private tour to Teotihuacan. He arrived on time to pick us up at 8.30am, vehicle was clean he is a good driver. The day was rainy but he came prepared with his 'tour guide book' to show us things we couldn't visit at Teotihuacan due to the weather. Has great stories and information to share and we really enjoyed our tour with him. For lunch, he recommended this amazing taco shop that the locals go to and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
Teotihuacan is the biggest archaeological site in Mexico. Exploring this place can take a long time and can be exhausting if you don't know where to start. This tour is designed to make sure you visit the three main temples without having to walk too much. You will be at what used to be the most powerfulcity in the Americas almost 2000 years ago! You will learn about the Quetzalcoatl temple (a must see and usually skipped highlight) at the citadel, the Pyramids of the Sun and the moon are part of the itinerary as well. Your professional guide will also take you to the Quetzalpapalotl palace. Here, you'll have the opportunity to admire some of the best well preserved murals. Later on, you'll have the possibility to decide if you want to have a lunch break before going back to CDMX or closer to the Shrine of Guadalupe. You will always have the freedom to decide where to go, however, your guide can also suggest some of the best restaurants in Teotihuacan or back in CDMX.
After having a delicious meal, your guide will drive you to the second most visited Catholic Church in the world; The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the north of CDMX. Here, you will admire some beautiful baroque churches and the "supernatural" painting of Guadalupe at the modern Basilica. Your guide will explain why this is a very important and meaningful place not just for catholics but also for Mexicans in general. It is shocking to see how thousands of people still believe and embrace the story of the appearance of Guadalupe in 1531. You'll find out why it became such a popular tale and learn about its impact today in the Mexican (and global society). Lastly, you will be taken back to your hotel safely. Remember that you will always go at your own pace and will have the possibility to make as many suggestions on the go!

Our guide David was superb. From the minute he picked us up, he explained exactly what we would see at Teotihuacan and how it was important. During our drive there David also pointed out points of interest along the way. Even though we arrived early to Teotihuacan, it got quite crowded quickly. But David always managed to find less crowded spots for us to get better views and take photos. David is incredibly knowledgeable and brings a lot of visual aids to help explain the complex history of this site. The stop at the Basilica was also quite interesting. Also David was a very safe and courteous driver.
Wife and I booked this private tour to the Pyramids, Basilica de Guadalupe and the Gruta restaurant and it was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City. David is a walking encyclopedia with so much knowledge and energy. All of the time David was attentive and ensuring our time was well spent and managed to cover all important topics. All the time during our trip we felt safe and taken care of. We now have a new friend in CDMX and would not hesitate to recommend him to all of our friends and family.
David and Frank were incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun for our adult sons. We did the tour the opposite way to the big tour buses and so avoided crowds, they accommodated our request to have lunch at the caves and were very flexible and made sure we were happy with our tour as we went. Thank you for such an educational and fun experience! 6/5 stars
Eddy was an exceptional guide. He was incredibly professional and it was clear that he had an extensive education in the subject matter. Being a local, he was able to provide a great level of depth to the tour. We felt very comfortable, driving to our destinations and genuinely enjoyed his company throughout. We will absolutely be using this company again and will request Eddie next time we are in town. I look forward to seeing what other tours are available.
incredible tour! Eddie was so great In addition to learning so much from him on the tour, he shared tips and recommendations for Mexico City Highly recommend
We had an excellent time with David and Francisco. They picked us up at our hotel at 9 AM (they were even early!) and took us to Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Lady Guadalupe. By the way, I recommend to do this exact tour, then go to the Anthropology Museum on your own on the next day to learn even more. We went to the Museum the day before but I think it would have been a better experience to go AFTER Teotihuacan! The two guides were super knowledgeable about the history, culture and sites. I appreciated the amount of information we were able to attain in such a short period of time. As one of us had to nap (tired from too much partying?) and one of us had to take a work call during, the private tour was perfect. If I were to do it all over again, I might have been more assertive as to what and where I wished to eat for lunch. The restaurant we were taken to was clean and the food was all right, but it was for tourists - maybe we might have wanted something less touristy?
We had such a positive experience. David was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Mexico’s history and culture and he draws you into his love of these topics . The pace of our day was perfect and we saw and learned so much.
David and Francisco went above and beyond to make this tour super special for me and my nephews. Mexico City is currently experiencing a lot on construction and road closures to get ready for the World Cup. The day of our excursion, the road to our hotel was completely closed. Instead of simply cancelling/changing the day of the excursion as others would have done, they figured out other solutions on how to pick us up and give us a great experience. David and Francisco were super knowledgeable and passionate as they were showing us around. My nephews kept mentioning how nice and awesome they were after the excursion. I also love the flexibility of this tour since it’s a private one so we can tweak it and customize it to our preference. I highly recommend using them for your next tour!
We had an excellent tour with Eddie! He was so knowledgeable and personable. Even our 9 yr old was impressed! He made seeing this massive area very easy and took us to a really special hidden spot to see murals where no one else was. Definitely skip La Gruta and have him take you to his favorite taco spot. The best tacos we had all week! Loved that we didn’t have to go to any of the tourist trap spots and could just do what we wanted to see.
David was an excellent tour guide. From the instructions of where to meet to the drive to the pyramids, he was patient and kind! He gave us just the right amount of information and also let us customize the tour. We went at a great pace! Wonderful English speaking information as well! Would highly recommend this company and tour!
This tour was our favorite day in Mexico City. Eddy was our tour guide and I cannot say enough nice things about him!! On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give Eddy a 20!! Pick up was prompt, the vehicle was super comfortable and Eddy is a great driver. Most importantly, Eddy is an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. He has little tricks for maximizing the experience and he took some great pictures of me and my husband. We went to an excellent local place for lunch and tried some new dishes. By the end of the day Eddy was more than just a guide, he's a friend! Thanks for everything Eddy, I will definitely be booking another tour with you when we return to Mexico City.
This was our 2nd time to these amazing pyramids and David was absolutely perfect in every way for this trip! From the very start to the end he was exceptional in every way. His passion and knowledge on anything we asked about was unsurpassed. He spent more than the allotted time with us and allowed us to stop for lunch in the cave along the way. His vehicle was roomy and beyond comfortable for our group. We opted in to the “tourist traps” and enjoyed learning more about the culture and history of the area, while also sampling some yummy mezcal. I would give him more than five stars if I could, and will definitely be referring him to anybody that asks. Thank you David for an unforgettable experience. We appreciate you so very much!
Had the absolute BEST time with Eddie exploring Teotihuacan and the Basilica de Guadalupe! As a solo traveller, I didn’t want to feel rushed with a group but also be able to ask questions and have a more personalized experience, which is what it was to a tee. His route for the tour makes the whole journey far more enjoyable (especially in the heat!) while still being able to have time for photos and side explorations. This was my first time exploring Mexico and learning about Mexican history and Eddie’s depth of knowledge is incredible but he’s also a fantastic and hilarious person to hang out with too. Makes sitting in rush hour traffic for hours pass by much more easily lol. I am so glad I booked this tour and would recommend in a heartbeat. He even came prepared with water, TP, and well-researched visual aids which were much needed and appreciated. Eddie has set the bar extremely high for the rest of my tours! Mucho muchos gracias!!
We had an amazing and very informative trip to the T pyramids and the Basilica with Eddie!! He arrived on time in his comfortable car to pickup and the ride was smooth. My wife has mobility problems but Eddie was patient and very helpful. He parked close to the pyramids and made it a very pleasant trip. We learned so much about the history of Mexico! He took us to a very good Mexican restaurant for lunch and we tasted delicious local dishes. The Basilica is beautiful. Ask for Eddie- he is the best!
I traveled with my husband and 2yo so I was looking for a private tour company that provided a car seat and would be flexible, adaptable to our toddler’s needs. The company was easy to communicate with especially since I booked last minute and we had a great guide with Eddie who was very knowledgeable about both sites and Mexico City in general. He was patient and accommodated us at the pyramids and adjusted the route so we didn’t have to walk the entire length in the sun (no shade and it gets hot even in the springtime) while still getting to see all 3 temples. He even took us to an area with better preserved murals near the temple site that other tour groups would not get to see. We had plenty of water/bathroom breaks whenever we needed. The basilica was beautiful and had we not been with Eddie we wouldn’t have known about the conveyor belt to see Our Lady of Guadalupe up close. An excellent trip and tour guide to work with! Would definitely recommend! Thank you Eddie!
Eddie was knowledgeable and made the visit very comfortable.
Marco was a great guide - very knowledgeable and engaging. He also sequenced the stops and different parking areas to make the visit really efficient.
David and Francisco are experts on the sites; speak great English. They made good recommendations but encouraged us to choose what we most wanted to see and how we wanted to spend our time.
Our tour was really great, and Eddy was a phenomenal guide. Very knowledgable, and he took us on the most efficient route and also went off the beaten path to spots where most tours don't go. He also gave us some recommendations for the rest of our time in Mexico City. Highly recommended.
David and Francisco were so knowledgeable and friendly. Loved this experience. Learned so much history and culture.
Outstanding trip! Tour guide David was super knowledgeable and interesting, providing a great perspective for the two locations. Truly exceptional experience. 10/10.
Outstanding tour with an excellent and knowledgeable guide David to the Teotihuacan pyramids and Guadeloupe basilica. Tailored for our interests and saw ‘off the beat’ buildings and mosaics that others don’t show. Added Tlatelolco and Plaza Tres Cultures at the end by request and much appreciated. Excellent food choices and good knowledgeable conversation. Highly recommended.
Great tour, David was wonderful! He was punctual, very flexible, and provided us with water and sun hats. He was very knowledgeable and informative. Would highly recommend!
I traveled with my mom to Mexico City from February 4–8, and our private tour with Marco was fantastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Mexico’s history, culture, and current events, which made the experience both engaging and informative. Because it was a private tour, we were able to fully customize it to our preferences—we specifically wanted to avoid tourist traps, and Marco respected that completely without ever trying to push unnecessary stops. Everything was very well organized and efficient, so no time was wasted. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend booking a private tour so you can explore at your own pace.
We had a fantastic tour with our amazing guide, Eddy. He picked us up at our hotel in the historic district. The car was a bit small for the four of us but their company is working on making their fleet bigger. Eddy was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Bring a sun hat that also covers your neck, sunscreen, lots of water and snacks and good walking shoes. We had a great time.
Yes—David was the most fabulous guide we have ever had. Erudite, punctual, kind, caring, helpful and warm.
My wife and I had the pleasure of touring Teotihuacan and the Basilica with David. We can’t thank him enough because out of all the many, many tourists out there that day, I know we had the best experience of them all. In Teotihuacan, after we hit the big spots, everywhere we went we were all alone. David knew all of the spots that others didn’t. We felt so special and thankful that we booked the tour, because we know if we hadn’t we would have missed SO much. David is a studied historian and knows his stuff. For tourists like us who are into that stuff too, he was the perfect tour guide. He covered all of the details efficiently and without overdoing it so that we could absorb as much as possible. We skipped all the tourist traps, only seeing the quality merchandise if we wanted (and we did, it was beautiful. We bought some), and covered everything while focusing on Teotihuacan, but David still left time for us to see the Basilica. He walked us through every single chapel and cathedral and the basilica while teaching us about their origins and about the significance of everything around us. I’m glad we didn’t skip any of that because it was stunningly gorgeous. If you are reading this, just book the tour because the day will be a breeze and you’ll have a better time than anybody else that day. We prefer private experiences like this and trust me you will too. We had the perfect day!
The tour was fun, informative and an overall beautiful experience. David our guide was welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
David clearly knew his subject and was passionate about it. He took us to the sites in a manner that avoided large crowds. He also shared uncommon insights such as how some colors are produced using plants and how you can observe a solar eclipse through polished obsidian, both techniques the Indians used and may still use. He came equipped for changes in the weather as well. David gave an excellent, well-thoughtout tour for my wife and me.
The ride seated the four of us comfortably, we had complete flexibility with the itinerary, and David was very passionate, knowledgeable, and helpful. He also had all the accessories available to make it a most enjoyable tour.
The pyramids are an amazing visit - especially if you get there early doors when the crowds are down and the hot air balloons are flying. Our guide Eddy was so knowledgeable and brought it all to life. The Basilica is incredible - well it’s two really - huge yet full and very spiritual. Also get to see downtown Mexico City.
As first-time visitors to Mexico City, coming from a small city in New Zealand, the scale of the city can feel overwhelming at first. Having a private guide like Eddy to help navigate it all made a huge difference, and this tour was informative, comprehensive and very well paced. We visited Teotihuacán and the Basilica of Guadalupe, and Eddy (who is a fully licensed guide), made both experiences far more meaningful. At Teotihuacán, his experience really showed — he knew the best entrances and routes, helping us avoid unnecessary walking and crowds, while still seeing so much we would have completely missed without him. His explanations really made the site come alive and gave everything important context. He’s super friendly and relaxed, and was happy to chat about life in Mexico City as well as the history. He also took us to a restaurant popular with locals, where the food was fantastic and where we would probably have felt too intimidated to go on our own, as we don’t speak Spanish. It was a great way to briefly immerse ourselves in local life and culture. The tour included transport, and even though I can be a nervous and impatient passenger, I felt completely at ease with Eddy — even when stuck in a legendary Mexico City traffic jam! We’re really glad we chose a tour with him, as we got so much out of the day.
I booked this tour a week in advance and don’t think I could have made a better pick. David served as both my guide and driver, arriving at my Airbnb exactly on time (even 10 minutes early). The vehicle was pristine and well-stocked with drinks and also various maps and magazines about the sites we were going to visit. The tour started the moment we began driving. David shared fascinating insights into the history and landmarks of the various CDMX neighborhoods we passed on our way out of the city. David’s passion for Mesoamerican and pre-Aztec history was evident. He is very knowledgeable and strategically navigated the day so that we consistently stayed ahead of the crowds. We even beat the rush to the famous 'La Gruta' cave restaurant. One of my highlights was visiting lesser-known ruins that surprisingly few other tours seem to frequent. Setting 2,000 years old murals that were so well preserved is a truly fascinating experience if you appreciate anthropology / archaeology. The afternoon at the Basilica was equally moving - a deep dive into the religious epicenter of Mexico. Throughout the day, David was a fantastic 'maker' of memories, taking many perfectly timed photos without me even having to ask. On our way back, David also shared recommendations on other places to visit and navigating CDMX in general. This tour was the highlight of my time trip to CDMX. If you want to truly understand the ancient sites rather than just look at them, I highly recommend this tour.
This was an incredible experience and our guide David was extremely knowledgeable. It was like taking a history class that you actually enjoy and pay attention in. When it says self paced that is exactly what it was. David was always checking in to see if we wanted to stop anywhere and that he catered the tour to us. He made us feel like it could be as long or as short as we needed. We definitely made a new friend in Mexico! Please do yourself a favor and book this tour you will not regret it!
I would like to say thanks for our excellent guide Kelly , she was very professional and very knowledgeable about the tours we have been taken
Our tour with Eddie was fantastic. He arrived to pick us up on time, he was friendly, courteous, and shared so much information about Mexican history. He tailored our tour to our needs, was flexible, and checked in to give us options. It really felt like we got to spend the day with a friend. We can’t wait to be back in the city and book another tour with Eddie.
Absolutely amazing experience! Our private full-day tour to Teotihuacan and the Basilica was the highlight of our trip. Being able to explore everything at our own pace made it so much more enjoyable and relaxed. Our guide, Eddy, was simply fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history and culture of Mexico. He shared fascinating stories, answered all our questions, and made the entire day both fun and educational. The car was clean and comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We felt completely taken care of and appreciated having the flexibility to spend extra time where we wanted. If you’re looking for a personalized and memorable way to experience Teotihuacan, ask for Eddy — he truly made the tour unforgettable!
This excursion was a highlight of our time in Mexico City. Juan was an incredible guide. From the moment he picked us up from our hotel until he dropped us off, he had lots of interesting facts & stories about Mexico City. He took the time to focus on our main interest of the pyramids and their history. His consideration for two british tourists who were very warm - bringing sunscreen or water was much appreciated. Once we got to the site, going through the museum and then the pyramids themselves - he brought them to life with his explanations. Leaving the best til last with the Fire Serpent Pyramid was brilliant. The tour of the bascilica tied everything together & helped us understand more about Mexican culture. This tour was incredible - thank you so much. We would recommend this tour and Juan as your guide to everyone.
I highly recommend this tour, my guide Eddie Garcia was very professional, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect English. I have travelled the world and used private tour companies to see the Taj Mahal, Siem Riep, the Vatican, City of London, etc. and I would rate Eddie at the top of all the professional guides I have met. I will be recommending his service to all my friends and business associates who come to visit Mexico City. See you for the World Cup next year Eddie! Best Regards, Bryce
Our best experience since landing in Mexico! We came not knowing what to expect and left feeling like family. We had special mobility issues, and he made us feel comfortable and accommodated us at every stop. We look forward to returning to Mexico as long as Eddy is our guide! Thank you for a wonderful and educational tour of the pyramids and the Basilica.
Tour guide was knowledgeable, polite and courteous. I have trouble with my knees and he walked slowly and helped me up the stairs
This was a wonderful tour with our guide named, Noah. He provided a wealth of information as to the sights we were seeing and explanations on how var I us tasks were accomplished. He was extremely knowledgeable, and at the same time very witty and entertaining. I, normally, shy away from tours, but this one is an exception. A person would be foolish to miss one of Noah's tours.
Wonderful tour! We had a lovely time with our knowledgeable guide, Juan. This is the way to do it! The private experience was great and we learned so much about the history and culture of the sites. Also much more comfortable than a group tour. I highly recommend!!
Our guide, Edgar (Eddie) Garcia Ramos, made this an exceptional tour. His seemingly limitless knowledge of the pyramids and his country’s history made this one of our most memorable tours. Make sure you make time for the Basilica as well as for lunch! You won’t be disappointed.
We had the most unforgettable experience exploring the ancient city of Teotihuacan, all thanks to our incredible guide, David. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel and we arrived at the archeological site, David brought the history and mystery of this sacred place to life. His excitement and deep knowledge of the Pyramid of the Moon, Pyramid of the Sun, Temple of Quetzalcoatl, and the Avenue of the Dead was truly impressive — every step felt like a journey back in time. What really made the tour special was David’s passion and warmth. He tailored the experience perfectly to our pace and interests, answered every question with insight, and made sure we didn’t just see the pyramids — we felt them. To top it all off, we enjoyed an amazing lunch at La Gruta, the magical cave restaurant near the site. The food, atmosphere, and service were the perfect end to a perfect day. This was an unforgettable trip with the perfect guide. Thank you, David — you made this experience truly extraordinary!
David was an awesome guide! He was considerate and thoughtful about our interests and provided extensive information about the places we visited. I also loved that he clearly enjoyed being our guide and was excited about the details he provided.
David and Francisco were wonderful guides. We spent an entire day with them learning about the history and culture at Teotihuacan and Our Lady of Guadelupe. They were hugely knowledgeable and made every effort to tailor the experience to our needs and interests. They were also so thoughtful about our well being and built in times to hydrate, rest, etc. By far the best guides tour we have taken of anywhere. Don’t think twice just book it.
This was an amazing tour with Juan. He was engaging, thoughtful, great storyteller, gracious, and highly informational. He was very flexible catering to our needs. We were able to swap a location with another. We also asked to eat at La Gruta which was a huge delight! If you get Juan, please have him join you for lunch. We treated Juan to lunch but it felt like it was treat for us to have him. He answered all our questions and encouraged our curiosity. At the pyramids, he made sure we took the shortest routes and even ran to get the car so my mother didn’t have to walk back. He went above and beyond and made us compare all other guides to him. I cannot recommend this tour enough!! It’s worth every penny and we wish we could have had Juan the rest of the trip!
Today was absolutely amazing! We started with a tour of Teotihuacán, and David was our guide. He showed us around the site with such precision and knowledge. The history here is mind-blowing! After that, we went to a local shop to learn all about agave. The uses of that plant are incredible! We had lunch at a great local place, and the barbacoa was to die for! Next, we visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. David’s knowledge was on full display again! I can’t imagine a better guide than him. He’s so knowledgeable and passionate about his work, and he really took the time to talk to each of us. Highly recommend!
