Jorge is very passionate and highly proficient about the history of his country and this city. This walking tour is fairly long and took us through some off-the-beaten path spots, from Aztec times to inquisition bonfires, sculptures, meteorites, and architectural details of buildings commissioned by Diaz. If you are an history buff and in fairly good shape, I highly recommend this tour!
Jorge is he knowledgeable and passionate guide. He’s a former history teacher and has deep knowledge of Mexico City. You will see and learn about things that conventional tour guides don’t know about. My only complaint would be sometimes he is too heavy handed and authoritarian in his delivery. But all in all he is a great tour guide and I learned a lot about Mexico City.
We had a great experience with Jorge, who is very knowledgeable about Mexico City history and enthusiastic about sharing it. We saw a lot of places from some of most famous to some that may not be in guidebooks but are very interesting nonetheless. We saw and learned so much! Jorge shared many memorable historical anecdotes. Be prepared to walk a lot (comfortable shoes and clothes and hats for the sun are a must) and your 3 hour immersion into Mexico City history. Highly recommended.
Did not realize Jorge the tour guide communicates thru What’s up , which I typically do not do. Been trying yo contact thru email as phone not available not until I called Viator. Took a while b4 we saw him. Thanks God he waited few more minutes - almost 20 min
It was a private tour with just me and the tour guide (George). He took me all around the City showing me the highlights and giving a lot of backstory to each location. George was very passionate about history, his City and his job. One can tell that he really loves history and he loves his country of Mexico! He also gave time to take pictures at each of the locations and or utilize the restroom where they had them. Mexico City is so beautiful with so much history. One would need a lot more time to see an experience and learn everything. This was just a quick trip of a couple days, so I definitely have to come back another time. I will need to come back to see More of the city in greater detail! It was a good experience and helps you get the lay of the land. Especially if anyone is a history of like me and loves history you should find this tour interesting.
Jorge was a great guide. There's a lot of ground to cover, both literally and figuratively, and he did a great job of keeping the conversation moving by connecting some of the key players in the history of the Mexican Republic to the architecture, monuments, and streetscape. I'd say this is an excellent early-days survey of the historic center that will help you understand where you want to return to later for a more in-depth look. For those of us only in town for a couple of days, it was the perfect way to understand the 'greatest hits', and I look forward to circling back to a few of the places we saw when I return and have more time. He's friendly, knowledgable, and easy to hear over the roar of traffic and crowds. His background as an educator really comes through.
The tour guide (Jorge) was a great guide. He was very informative and knowledgeable of the greater area of Mexico City.
Our guide was spectacular. We mistakenly went to the wrong spot. He handled it great. He was informative, passionate, lively, and gave us a wonderful introduction to Mexico City. A great beginning to a wonderful place
Jorge was a very informative guide and shared his vast knowledge of the history of notable sites in CDMX Centro Historico. We covered a lot of ground in 3 hours although each stop was just an overview of things to consider doing on my own on a later day. Jorge sent a confirmation the day before, and also his location at our meeting point. I highly recommend Jorge for his private tour and emphasis on quality time.
My wife and I really enjoyed this walking tour. George was early and met us right on time. He had water bottles ready to go. George was incredible knowledgeable and so happy to share his experiences and story and a born and raised son of CDMX. George planned out a great itinerary and kept us moving, but with plenty of time to stop and enjoy the sites. I appreciated that George would explain a site, and then give us some time as a couple to go in on our own and explore. We did this at several locations including the several churches we saw. I’m sure there are tours for each beautiful church but that is a different tour and day. George answered every question and took care to explain things. He was very funny at times and of course more serious when appropriate, but always sincere in sharing his love for the city. Highly recommend this tour. For what it’s worth, not that anyone can control this, but the early February weather was perfect. Chilly in the morning, warm by afternoon. Bring sunscreen.
George is very attentive. He contacted me via WhatsApp to let me know where he was located. Coordination was a breeze. And he is absolutely knowledgeable. Given his background of being a professor. His knowledge actually transcend his ability to read the situation. He provided me with additional time to free roam most of the areas that we visited, which I enjoyed tremendously.
Very informative tour. Guide was right on time. Provided water bottles. Very knowledgeable. Showed us all the the relevant spots of the historic city center and gave enough free time in each one. Not 5 stars because the tour finished 30 minutes early.
Jorge was awesome. You could sense his passion for his city and his knowledge was reflective of this. Especially the hidden hints and secrets of the city and history was very enjoyable. Thank you Jorge
Jorge was a great guide! He is very passionate about history and Mexico City and it was a pleasure to spend the morning with him. Unfortunately a few sites were barricaded due to protests the day before, but he was very flexible and made sure we had a great experience. Would recommend !
Jorge was communicative before we met and a great guide. He shared his wealth of common knowledge as well as insights he has gathered from years of experience in his current role and past professions. A true joy to spend the morning with.

This tour of Mexico City was an incredible experience. The explanation of the guide was excellent, very clear and enriching. In addition, I think it is a perfect activity for children, as it presents the city in a very entertaining and critical way, helping them understand its history and culture in a fun way. We loved the tour and would definitely recommend it to other families. A great way to explore the city!
An excellent guide was Jorge, very well awarded the information about the places visited. His professionalism and taste for the treatment of tourists were noted. I'm very happy.
Very didactic, the trained and entertaining guide (Jorge), I learned several things that I was unaware of. Highly recommended, especially for first time visitors to the City
Thanks to the best Tourist Guide for giving us this beautiful tour. I didn't know everything he told us and it was just a taste of how much there is to know. Thank you very much for repeating. I recommend it to 1000.

Excellent professional performance, Jorge combines passion and love for his country, with the theoretical foundation, excellent if you want to know the City
The explanation was great and gives quite interesting details, I loved it! The experience was wonderful.
Really interesting and satisfying, the historic center of Mexico is spectacular and beautiful. Its history intimately linked to that of the Spaniards, it is findamental and necessary to know both sides to value it in its entirety and draw conclusions without victimhood.
The best tour, Professor George is an excellent, respectful person, with total knowledge of history. Fully recommended, when I return to Mexico I will definitely call you back for another tour.
Very good guide, with a captivating speech and with a lot of knowledge, it is certainly one of the best options to know the center of Mexico City in a fun and friendly way
Very interesting the tour, quite didactic and the tour nothing is boring and highly recommended the post office museum and the house of tiles.
Loved it, very good host, his way of giving the tour is nice and knows how to answer the doubts in a proper way.
Very good guide prepared and with extensive knowledge, I liked that he gave curious facts that I did not know about Mexico City.
Thanks, Jorge. Without a doubt, listening to you was a father during the tour. An excellent guide. Congratulations. See you soon.

Mexico offers endless positive and memorable experiences... And what better than having the company of a professional guide who walks you, shows and explains a historical anecdotes about his beloved country, Mexico. George is a very professional tour guide and will give you a little trip to the past and present of Mexico, about culture, history, typical food of the country and above all will offer you a friendly and open Mood at all times in providing information and even very pleasant family. As a Mexican, truly this experience... I thought I knew my city and Goergo offered me a glimpse into the unknown of my own city. An unforgettable experience.
It was a very interesting experience as there were data I was unaware of and that generated a greater interest in learning throughout the tour. It should be noted that my favorite part happened when we went to see Diego Rivera's murals, which apart from being beautiful the introduction he gave us was quite interesting.
Everything! He is a mega-prepared person, as he is not only a certified guide, but also a recognized social scientist because he is an ethnologist graduated from the ENAH (National School of Anthropology and History). That is, you go with a social scientist, and he tells you in detail every inch of Mexico with joy, amenity, detail and patience. Really, it’s a delight to be able to meet Mexico by your side.
Very good experience, very friendly and above all trained staff, we highly recommend it! It explains everything very well and gives you your space if you want to be with your family and enjoy the place.
It is excellent the tour of the historic center of Mexico City, with the best guide, Jorge! He is a very pleasant person with a lot of knowledge of history. From the few guides, you really love the history of Mexico! He lives and feels it. 100% recommended!!!
My favorite part of the trip is when I stopped to explain some of what we’re seeing, but it does so in a way that doesn’t seem like boring history, it’s like a chat between friends.
Excellent tour, I highly recommend it! Jorge gives a very good explanation of everything and is very pleasant!
The explanations of history and very emotional legends, by the way the guide Jorge Luis Barbosa narrates them, congratulations !!!
