Ari was a lovely guide who was very flexible to our needs. She identified key areas for us to see and gave context to artifacts we would've missed. She also took great photos. For those visiting for the first time and are not fluent in Spanish, it is highly recommended to hire a guide and then self explore on your own after the tour. I would highly recommend to buy tickets BEFORE the tour on the official website. Do not wait until you get there due to long lines.

Informative and enjoyable tour of Museo Nacional de Antropología by Maurizo. He was very knowledgeable and kept our interest engaged at a very high level. We highly recommend Maurizio as a tour guide for this museum.
Maurizio was one of the most personable and knowledgeable guides I have ever experienced. We learned so much and have come away with a tremendous appreciation of Mexico’s historical past. Having a guide was especially helpful as we are not strong Spanish speakers. Some of the signage had English translation provided, but many did not. This guided tour was a highlight of our trip.
My guide Jesús had incredible energy and expertise on the museum. We booked a group of 11 people. Multiple friends called it the best museum tour experience they’ve ever done. Thank you!
An exceptional guided tour! Jesus truly made the experience unforgettable. His knowledge, enthusiasm, genuine passion and the personal touches made the tour even more special. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended!
Maurizio Cao what an awesome tour. History and archeology brought to life. Temples, Gods, Goddesses, warriors, nomads, conquerors, artisans, torture, brutality. This tour had it all. We’ve been on a lot of tours. His tour was truly engaging, absolutely the best! Many thanks
Our guide Jesus was very attentive and knowledgeable . He felt like a friend explaining the art , we had a group of 4 abd it was worth every penny ,Jesus jet giving us a few more minutes to really cover the important highlights .
Our tour through the Anthropology Museum with Maurizio was wonderful! He was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, and enthusiastic. He went above and beyond to show us a good time.
Lovely day, the guide was knowladgable and passionate and did her best to make it an amazing jurney within 2hours, we didnt feel rushed and covered lots of history. She contacted us the day before so meeting was smooth. The place is worth a vist , the area is beutiful and quite, the musium itself hold a lot of oiences however it was diapointing that a lot of the artifacts were simulators of the originals. Overall it was a lovely morning and rhe place is worth the vist
Galy did an excellent job of giving us an overview of the Museum of Anthropology. Her knowledge of the history and culture of the indigenous people was impressive and thorough. Unfortunately, we had a hard time understanding her accent at times but she was patient and it was a wonderful learning experience. Highly recommend!
Jesus our guide was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable, full of energy and gave us a tour that touched on important history.. We loved our experience. and highly recommend it.
Rosa’s tour was exceptional! She is so knowledgeable! We learned so much about the history of Mexico. This particular tour was great because it was private. There were so many other tours with 20+ people. I would 10/10 recommend Rosa!
I’m so happy that I had someone like Jose to guide me and explain everything in detail to us. I have learned so much from a few hours of his tour. Highly recommend him.
Arturo is a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and patient guide. We all learned so much on our tour. He also takes great photos!
Arturo is a great guide. He was able to customize the tour of the museum based on the activities we planned later in our trip. This is a helpful way to begin a trip to Mexico City.
Excellent tour with lots to learn. Our tour guide, Perla, explained everything extremely well and made the experience informative and enjoyable.
We had Rosa and she was great. If we had gone on our own, we’d never have even realized to look at many of the artifacts, much less realize their importance. She was wonderful and knowledgeable. All of us (3 adults and a 15yo) enjoyed the tour and learned so much! She’s an excellent guide!
Arturo was an amazing tour guide. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. We covered an enormous amount of ground in a relatively short time, and he presented the information in a way that helped us understand it all so much better!
We just wrapped a tour with Arturo and could not recommend him enough! He was so knowledgeable of artifacts in the museum itself, but also was able to provide more context for lots of the pieces and dispel misinformation that was given by archaeologists. He had answers to all of the questions we had and had a great sense of humor throughout the tour. Would highly recommend a tour with Arturo when you’re in CDMX!
This was a fascinating tour. Our guide, Arturo, was extremely knowledgeable on this history of Mexico and the Museum. He made it come alive as he took us through the buildings. I highly recommend this tour and Arturo!
No visitor to Mexico City should miss this museum. It's so immense that a good guide is almost a necessity. Rosa Maria was knowledgeable, patient and altogether delightful.
Our guide Ofelia was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable and super patient with us since we had a baby. You could really tell she loves her job and her country. Highly recommend taking a tour since there’s sooo many very important pieces that are worth hearing the history behind them
Arturo was great. We were 30min late and he extended the tour to make sure we still hit the full 2hrs. He also asked us what sort of tour we want (deep history or 'just the hits'). My only feedback to Arturo is to be a bit louder when there are other tour groups in the area, or move to a quieter location. It was difficult to hear when other tours were nearby.
Best way to understand the highlights and history in this museum that might otherwise be overlooked. Having a guide made all the difference. Our guide, Rosa, was terrific!
Rosa was a phenomenal guide for our Private Anthropology Museum Tour in Mexico City! She was incredibly energetic, exceptionally well-versed in the exhibits, and made the 2 hours fly by. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting.
Javier was an excellent tour guide and made the exhibits come to life. I appreciated his detailed knowledge and the pace of the tour was perfect. This was an engaging learning experience and definitely worth it!
We had an amazing time at the anthropology museum. Perla is a great guide. She was very sweet and explained us the history in detail. She also asked us about the things we are interested in and curated the experience accordingly. I would say this is a must do experience
Rosa is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable about Mexico’s history and the anthropology museum. I cannot imagine going to the museum without her!
Our guide was easy to communicate with, kind and enthusiastic. She was well prepared to navigate the very large museum, while still allowing a little space for us to explore and ask questions. I don't think we asked a single question that she couldn't answer! You may see information online that suggests the exhibits have signage in English. This is largely untrue. If you don't know Spanish you will be guessing what you're looking at in this museum.
Rosa was our family's (my wife and I and two boys 11 and 7) private tour guide at the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia e Historica. She met us in the lobby of the museum and within two minutes were immersed in decoding the symbology of the ‘paraguas’ (the central sculpture in the museum’s courtyard.) Over the next 2.5 hours (plus) Rosa took us through the history of the ancient civilizations that occupied what is now Mexico. She brought a binder of her own visual aides to help us with the chronology and geography. As we walked through the gigantic museum Rosa would pause on key objects as she slowly and methodically built a historical and visual narrative of the pre-Columbian world. Rosa was enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable. She answered our questions and engaged our children. The Museo Nacional de Anthropologia e Historica is an enormous museum that would have been too daunting (even to seasoned museum goers like ourselves) to do without a guide. I highly recommend a guided tour and if you are lucky enough to get Rosa, you’ll be all the better for it.
Ismael was an fun, amazing and scholarly host. We appreciated him providing different perspectives on this wildly complex subject matter.
Carlos was FANTASTIC. We could have spent 3 days there alone and not learned a fraction of what he delivered. Absolutely great tour - could not recommend more.
Our private tour guide showed up at the wrong time and said we were a no show when I had Confirmed private tour booked through Trip Advisor. And… now no one is responding to my texts or emails about this.
Museum of anthropology is always a good time.
Our guide is Arturo and he’s a passionate guide introducing us lots of interesting history of Mexico. He helped us on buying tickets and came early to welcome us. He showed care during the guide asking do we need more rest. There’s a little gap in English speaking but overall a pleasant experience
Our visit to the Anthropology Museum would not have been the same without our exceptional guide, Jesus. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and brought the museum to life through his warmth, passion and storytelling. Jesus was thoughtful, patient and generous with his time, answering every question with care and making the vast museum feel approachable. We left having learned so much and feeling a deeper connection to Mexico’s rich history and culture. This was one of the best guided tours we have ever experienced, and we highly recommend Jesus.
Arturo was extremely knowledgeable about all things Mexica/Aztec, and explained many things that contradicted the mainstream understandings of historical Central Mexico. His enthusiasm for the subject was nice to see, and his scholarly approach was refreshing. His English was good but his strong accent took a bit of time to adjust to.
Our guide Jesus met us with enthusiasm and shared his passion for Mexico’s history with us. We enjoyed it.
Diana was an excellent tour guide. The Anthropology museum is a huge and amazing place, but without her help we would not have been able to navigate and fully appreciate what we were seeing. She was very knowledgeable, guided us through the more relevant aspects, was able to explain the story behind the exhibits very clearly and connect them together in a way that all made sense. Without her help, we would not have been able to truly appreciate what this incredible museum has on offer. I would highly recommend this tour.
Jesus was the perfect tour guide. He made everything super accessible and interesting for our children- he was patient, and fun and super knowledgeable. We’ve never booked a tour for a museum before and we are SO glad we did, otherwise we wouldn’t have known what we were really seeing.
Aaron was sooo good. The only way to get the benefit of the Anthropology Museum it to have a guide -there is so much to see and Aaron helped us understand and navigate the nest parts in 2 hours. Now I want to tackle the 2nd floor with a guide. Thanks Aaron
Best tour guide, super interesting and entertaining. Strongly recommend this tour as the museum can be a lot on your own
Our guide Arturo was exceptionally knowledgeable. It was very easy to follow his explanations and he gave some very interesting insights ! Thank you Arturo!
Fernando was exceptional. His knowledge and descriptions of what we saw gsve is a good historical perspective.
Jesús was great and extremely knowledgeable. We had limited time, but he did a great job at showing us the highlights of the massive museum.
Our guide was extended knowledgeable, but was almost 30min late. Traffic in méxico city is very bad. He only took us through the Aztec areas but did spend 2hrs with us. You can go through other areas on your own. After the fact, we found out that you can request a free guide at the museum after you buy your entry ticket.
A very informative guided tour around the anthropological museum, covering the history and rooms in the museum related to Mexico City (we had been before, but if it’s your first time you may want to specify that you want to explore more of the museum).
This could not have been better. The Museum is fascinating and comprehensive, and my guide Ale knew everything and provided lots of context. No long lines.
Fer Sanchez was a knowledgeable guide who shared interesting history and anecdotes to keep it lively.
We had an excellent experience with the company and the guide, Jesus.
