Our itinerary includes: Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon, Temple of the Feathered Serpent (Quetzalcoatl Pyramids), Palace of Quetzalpapalotl (Beautiful Butterfly), Patio of the Jaguars and the Feathered Snails, Avenue of the Dead, Residential Complexes, Photo Viewpoint, On-site Museum, and La Ciudadela. Once we arrive, the tour lasts up to 3 hours. Since this is a fully personalized experience, you can choose to finish earlier or even request extra time. We’ll make sure to visit as much as possible within those 3 hours! Regarding entrance tickets: Don’t worry! We’ll skip the long lines and won't waste any of your precious time getting them.

An excellent tour! This was my favorite visit to Teotihuacan. My friend was visiting for the first time, and she also enjoyed it very much. Ernesto is a wonderful guide. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We saw all of the important areas of Teotihuacan and returned to Mexico City in the early afternoon, so we still had part of the day to do other things. This tour was incredible! We had Fermin, who is a PhD professional archaeologist, and he was amazing. So deeply knowledgeable and passionate. We are all serious about history and he really made it come to life, and was able to also explain the inside of archeological process and discovery. All of us adults and my very into history 15yo were enthralled. If you want a truly in depth, detailed, deeply expert presentation, you’d be very lucky to get Fermin! Also the car was great and he is a really nice person. So 10 stars out of 5 ;-).
Lots of advance notice pick up at the hotel very convenient nice car friendly driver excellent English very knowledgeable enthusiastic. Knows history of Mexico from one side of the country to the other, provided running historical commentary on the way to and from the pyramids. Lots of historical discussion within the pyramids bird's eye view at the pyramids. Everything very smoothly.
Great tour with two couples. Our guide was a local anthropologist who knew all the history and architecture. Our driver was super friendly and punctual. Highly recommended!!!
Very good pyramid tour with Gustavo. He picked us up at our hotel, drove us to the pyramids and gave a very comprehensive presentation as we walked from pyramid to pyramid. His explanations were clear and he responded to our questions. Visiting with a guide is a much more efficient way to explore than on one's own so I would recommend it to everyone who has the possibility. I would particularly recommend Gustavo and the Tourmates.
We loved this tour! Our guide, Isaias was amazing and answered all our questions. The only critique is the vehicle we rode to the pyramids in. There were 6 of us and we could have easily fit into a minivan or large SUV instead of the larger minibus that was our mode of transportation, which was a bit strange and uncomfortable. But overall, I would highly recommend this tour; in fact, I recommended the tour while we were in Mexico City to another couple.

We learned so much about the pyramids, the history of the Aztec civilization, and the Basilica, which made the experience even more meaningful. We had a fabulous tour. Teotihuacán is incredibly interesting and Sergio was a wonderful and informed guide. Things went smoothly and the transport was quite comfortable.

We had a wonderful day touring Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Yordi. His English is excellent, and he shared just the right amount of history and context to keep everything interesting without overwhelming us with information. The tour was perfectly paced, and he was incredibly friendly and thoughtful throughout the day. Such a nice young man—we highly recommend Yordi if you’re visiting Mexico City!
This tour was really excellent. We had a group of 4 work mates. Our guide was very attentive and flexible to our desires and a good driver. He had plenty of water for us and a nice clean, well appointed car. We had to change our pick-up location and time at the last minute and he was very accomodating. He shared a lot of knowledge you would never get if you just visited the pyramids on your own. It was a great experience overall.
In planning our trip to CDMX I found good reviews on TourMate. I booked 4 tours with them, and they also created a custom trip to add on during our stay. Our group of 4 has been extremely impressed with the service we were treated to. Each guide was very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable about their tour sites. Best of all, in contrast to most other tour companies, TourMate offers private tours with hotel pickup, and very reasonable prices. They are amazingly flexible and accommodating. I don’t think anyone visiting the wonderful city of CDMX could go wrong with TourMate!
A couple of colleagues and I did this tour in January 2026 and had Ernesto as our guide. He did a great job and was very knowledgeable about the pyramids. We had a great time and learned a lot. Ernesto even followed up with us after the tour to send us some additional information about the site that couldn't be seen during the tour.

Jordi, our tour guide, was excellent! He arrived on time and prepared. We took 2 vehicles because of our large party. Clean and safe. We reviewed the itinerary and he provided flexibility which much appreciated. He offered suggestions lunch and it was an excellent choice. We will be using his services again on our next trip.
Ernesto picked us up at our accommodation, right on time and was very accommodating to our needs. He was able to adjust the tour to our design, by giving us highlights only, as per our request. It was a wonderful tour, with the Basilica added in on the return trip. Ernesto was very knowledgeable of the area and was a great driver!
We did a tour of Teotihuacan with TourMate Mexico and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was great from start to finish. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for lunch before we headed back to cdmx. I highly recommend TourMate and will be booking with them again next time we're in cdmx.
We had a great trip with Mario to the Teotihuacan pyramids, with an add-on tour of the Basilica de Guadalupe afterwards. Mario was knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and spoke excellent English. He explained things well and answered our many questions, and appropriately indicated that he wasn't sure for the few things that he did not know. The minivan was comfortable, and he provided some beverages, which was not expected but appreciated. The pyramids are very impressive in terms of their scale, and seeing them and the surrounding structures on this trip helped us to better understand Mesoamerican history. The visit at the Basilica on our return to Mexico City was also worthwhile. The history of the site is interesting, and the buildings - both old and new - were impressive.

We had a great time with a private tour to the Teotihuacan pyramids. We asked a pick up time of 9am and our driver showed up promplty to our hotel. He drove us safely, the car was very clean, he had bottle of water and umbrellas for the sun. He explained what we were seeing along the ways and was open to questions and small changes. He was very informative and we enjoyed the tour very much. The price was absolutely worth it, much better priced than other options, including some tour buses where one spends most of the time to wait for people. We'd be happy to use Tourmate again!

There were ten of us traveling - four adults and 6 kids ages 5-16. Everything went smoothly. The company was very responsive to any questions, but I was still a little confused on everything that was happening the day of. However, everything was great and I shouldn't have worried lol We did the hot air balloon ride, private tour of the pyramids, and lunch in a cave restaurant. We chose the restaurant that the guide recommended and it was fantastic (also lacked all the tourists and overpriced mediocre food). Afterwards our tour guide messaged me a ton of photos and videos he took of us throughout the day which was so nice and appreciated!!! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the entire experience - would highly recommend!
We had a memorable tour with private guide Cesar. He was knowledgeable about the history of CDMX and the pyramids. He picked us up at our hotel and had a cooler for our snacks. The workers at the site seemed to all know him as he’s very friendly. I was looking for souvenirs and he took us to a local market on the way home. If you can I would highly recommend a private guide as ours was very attentive.
Unbelievable day for my party of six that included touring the Teotihuacan Pyramids, overview of Mezcal, and eating lunch afterwards at a great local restaurant. Yordi is an AMAZING guide! I had previously toured the Pyramids in 2024 with another tour company and couldn’t believe how much I’d actually missed. YORDI is a knowledgeable, engaging, intelligent young man, with a genuine passion for the beauty, history, and significance of the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Yordi encouraged us all to climb the pyramids so that we didn’t miss an amazing view. He was very patient with us and genuinely cared that we not miss the highlights of this tour. We had an incredible experience with Yordi as our guide! He was punctual, personable, and so knowledgeable. We learned so much of the history of the pyramids thanks to him and made us feel like we all made a new friend in the process. Along with immersing ourselves in this bucket list location, he took us to learn more of Mexico City's history in general through an obsidian and pulque demonstration, then we enjoyed lunch in a cave that served some traditional Mexican dishes we haven't seen before. It was a real treat. Thank you, Yordi, for such a great experience. You've created some beautiful core memories for us and our children.
We had a wonderful tour with Cesar. He was punctual, very professional and a throughly lovely guy. He is also a top notch guide. He took us to parts of the site we would never have found on our own and provided so much really interesting information. He obviously worked out quite quickly that we were particularly interested in wall murals and made sure that we saw them all, including some which were off the beaten track. All in all a highly enjoyable trip and we would definitely use this company (and ask for Cesar) for any future trip to Mexico City.

Great private tour by a friendly, knowledgeable guide and driver. Pick up and drop off at our hotel was seamless. Lunch break in the cave was fun. Would do again next year if they reopen the steps of the Pyramid of the Sun. Arrive as early as you can to get uncrowded photos.
Transport was comfy and on time. I have taken other tours to pyramids in Mexico. this tour guide got to know me and my interest. He tailored the tour to my physical abilities and interest. He is the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever had. he made everything come to life!
We used Tourmate to book a private guide of Teotihuacan and like they say on their website, there was no surprise visits to souvenir shops or any other places that we did not say we want to visit. They do offer you options to add places for tastings, lunch etc. But we weren't interested. Our guide was Said and he was excellent. Easy to talk to, gave good explanations and got us to and from Teotihuacan through Mexico City's notorious traffic jams. In addition to our private tour of Teotihuacan, we asked Tourmate to organise a private transfer to Puebla the day before we planned to go. They were able to find a driver and the price was reasonable. Our driver Esdras was a good guy, who took care of us and got us to Puebla. I highly recommend the use of Tourmate, as not only did they provide us with excellent guides, they were responsive and understanding when our plans had to change. My partner got unwell the day before a tour we booked and Tourmate was really understanding with our need to cancel. It was professional service.

Jordi led our tour. He is quite friendly and before the trip offered to customize our itinerary, per our wishes. He picked us up at our home and drove us the hour plus to Teotihuacan. We added the Basilica of Guadalupe to the tour, which is a good add for the afternoon. The tour was a good amount of informative and awe-inspiring. Jordi's English is perfect (ask him how he learned) and the vehicle was nice and new.

We were very fortunate to have Ernesto as our guide. He is the best tour guide I have ever known. During the five-and-a-half-hour tour, he gave us a clear understanding of the mysteries of Teotihuacan's culture, religion, and architecture.
Excellent experience. Our tour guide Fermin wqs very knowledgeable and we deffinetely learned a lot about Teotihuacan origins and eventual occupation by the Aztecs. We feel we were enriched by Fermin's knowledge. Teotihuacán is a MUST see for anyone traveling to Mexico. My teenager kids really enjoyed it.

It was our first time going to the pyramids and it was amazing. It started with our guide, Ernesto. He showed up on time dressed in a suit, very professional. He had the car read for a comfortable drive with water and even mints on our door handles. He spoke very well English so my husband and some were able to communicate with him. Gustavo was amazing as our tour guide for our visit to Teotihuacan. He was right on time and gave us great information on Mexico City in our one hour drive. At the site, Gustavo expertly guided us through the different areas and provided insightful and thought provoking information on the various pyramids, temples, living quarters, and surviving murals. Gustavo was the best!
