Excellent tour of the area and history. Cris was an excellent tour guide and accommodated our travel delays like a true professional. Highly recommend the tour, sites and knowledge Cris shares.

Victor was an amazing guide. His knowledge of Mexico City history and culture was very outstanding. His command vocabulary of English was better than the majority of British people! It was our first visit to CDMX and we were quite apprehensive, mostly due to the bad press regarding the city. If you want to find out and explore slightly off the beaten track I don’t think you will find a better guide. We wanted a tour that whilst showing us the main sights of CDMX Centro Historico, also gave us an insight in “non tourist” areas plus daily activities/ life. We started at Mercado Jamaica, exploring all the different areas of items for sale, including the 24/7 flower market. We ate excellent local food before taking the Metro, which we probably wouldn’t have done alone, but was surprisingly clean, efficient, safe and cheap. (More comfortable than TFL - particularly for about 25p)! We then went onto Centro Historico. Neither of us had a great knowledge of Mexican history or politics, and Victor enlightened us - tailored to what we wanted to know, and our interests. He also helped us with questions before and after our tours via WhatsApp re worries we had about arriving at Benito Juarez, plus recommendations for some other markets and places of interest. We had an epic 4 1/2 + hours with him, he still gave us the time we had allocated even though we were 1/2 hr late due to traffic. It was more like walking round with a knowledgeable friend rather than a “tour”. We hope to return to Mexico City and will definitely seek him out again, although we think with his knowledge he could easily be head of the CDMX tourist board!!!
You will gain invaluable local knowledge (and make a significant contribution to your daily step count whilst in Mexico City).
Walking around Coyoacan would have been OK by myself, it's got parks and cafes and markets, but seeing it with someone who knows the city and its history so deeply was so much better! Nalleli taught me a ton about how the area fits into Mexico City's culture and history, and we got to see a lot of niche spots that I would have never found. It was really nice having someone show me the little museums, cafes, and historical buildings I would never have access to without local insight (or any real Spanish-speaking ability). Nalleli is a gem and I would gladly learn more from her.
My walk with Mariel could not have been any better. She adjusted the itinerary to my knowledge of the area, we spoke about many tour-related and non-tour (e.g., US and Mexican politics) subjects, and I appreciated her anthropology and food market knowledge. Thank you, Mariel.
My son and I had a great time with Al! He showed us parts of Mexico City we would not have gone to otherwise, and his historical knowledge was deep and extensive. I highly recommend taking a tour with Al if you want to thoroughly immerse yourself in the culture of Mexico City!
We did the Coyoacan tour with Mariel and it was fantastic! Mariel was friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed her company very much. She is very knowledgeable and we learnt so many interesting facts about the area and Mexican history and culture. The Coyoacan neighbourhood is absolutely gorgeous and this tour is a fabulous way to discover it!
Juan was a delight to be with. His knowledge of his home neighborhood, history and architecture, made visiting Coyocan a fun and wonderful experience.
We enjoyed getting to know the charming area of Coyoacan with Daniel and his friend Victor. They showed great knowledge of the area and were very friendly. Wld recommend the tour.
Mariel have us a great cultural tour of Coyoacán , she was full of historical knowledge, we learnt a lot not just about Coyocan but also Mexican history in general. We took plenty of photographs to add to our Mexican collection and the highlight was definitely the trip to the market. At the end of the tour we savoured local churros. 😀
Very knowledgeable and accessible. The best! You won’t be disappointed. A beautiful stroll thru a historic area but not central. Be sure to get tickets way ahead for Fridas house.
Saw so much in the time - Mariel was so knowledgeable and her English fantastic - fantastic walking tour - definitely do this if you have time!
We had a great time with Mariel. Her knowledge of Mexican history and of Coyoacan was superb. It made for a fantastic tour of the area , from the churches, the houses, the market, the gardens. This gave us a good overview of Coyoacan.
I had this tour with Mariel and it was very interesting. We visited very interesting places and her knowledge of her place was evident. We really enjoyed it!
We were visiting during a heat wave and Daniel kept cool throughout the heat. He was very knowledgeable about the sights and where to go to get the best views. He was very responsive when we needed to find water or a bathroom and even accommodated a random interest from my son to see Pokémon. We got to see so many things and felt like we know that part of town so much better after the tour. Daniel was great!
Mariel is an excellent tour guide. She is warm, friendly and full of interesting knowledge about Coyoacán. It was absolutely the best decision to have a personal tour, it felt so relaxed and we learnt so much. Thank you Mariel!
We really enjoyed Mariel's walking tour of Coyoacan. She was very friendly and knowledgable, and she answered all our questions. We learned a lot about Mexican history and culture. Mariel also helped my daughter pick out the best Mexican candies at the market!
Daniel was amazing, comfortable to talk to, flexible and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour and felt that we got to get a nice glimpse of life in the neighborhood.
Beautiful neighborhood experience with informative friendly guide. Coyoacan has a small town atmosphere and is a nice contrast to central Mexico City. Very much worth visiting with Daniel or other local guide
Daniel was a great tour guide. He made our trip to Coyoacan so enjoyable. If you’re going to Coyoacan for the first time, you will miss out on so much if you try to do it alone. Daniel is very kind and fun. It was a great 2 1/2 hours.
Mariel took us on a wonderful tour of the Coyoacán neighborhood. We never would have seen, experienced and learned what Mariel shared with us. She is a native of the area so it truly was “off the beaten track” as promised. We had delicious tostadas and the best churros in Mexico and walked on the same streets as Frida Kahlo.
Mariel was an excellent guide!! She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and thoughtful. We enjoyed this tour very much and it’s in a beautiful area of Mexico City. Highly recommend!
Mariel lead me around Coyoacàn on a walking tour. She is not only a very knowledgeable, energetic and enthusiastic guide, but she also senses how to tailor and tweak the tour to the interest of the group/individual at stake. Her stories from the heart and straight forward opinions make it a fun and unforgettable experience.
Mariel is by far one of the best tour guides we had during our stay in Mexico City. She’s so passionate and excited about Coyoacán and our time with her reflected that. We explored various neighborhoods, ate fantastic food, and learned a lot more about the area than we would’ve had we not taken the tour with her!
Let me start with our guide Mariel. She has an amazing vibe and spirit about her and is very passionate about her culture! She was great providing context and accuracy, as she let us through the beautiful barrio. Seeing Coyoacan through Mariel’s eyes was educational, fun and eye opening! The tour flew by and even though there is still limited access due living in the time of covid19, we had a great time and would highly recommend!! Muchas gracias Mariel
They scammed us. Nobody came to the place to look for us, we have a record. Nobody contacted us either. We demand the money back. By doing it through this platform, we believed it was safe. I appreciate you telling me how to make a return request.
We feel cheated. We spent an hour waiting at the indicated place and no one came. We demand our money back. They didn't contact us either. You should report this service for scam. I am going to file a formal claim and demand and we hope they contact us for the return of the money and the loss of time.
With locals with Daniel The walk through Coyoacan was a true experience. Beautiful spots and good coffee between alleys. So relaxed in contrast to the city. An oasis of peace with a guide who knows a lot about history and listened to questions. A must Thanks Daniel
