It was worth the experience of seeing Mexico City, Mexico at night. We caught the curtail end of the Day of the Dead celebrations so the city was still decorated elaborately. The weather was beautiful (would recommend traveling to Mexico in November) but just be prepared that they may not have a guide in English and that you may not leave exactly at the tour time. Plus, it gives you a general idea of your local surroundings in case you have a hotel booked nearby and want to explore the city by foot, but we still had fun!!! Would recommend!

Itinerary
Also known as Plaza de la Constitución, the Zocalo is located at the heart of the Historic Center in Mexico City. It is surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, Palacio Nacional (City Hall), former Government Palace, and the Government Building. In the middle of the plaza, there is a huge Mexican flag that enhances national sentiment and pride.
Paseo de la Reforma is the largest, most important, and emblematic avenue of Mexico City. Plenty of historic moments have taken place on this avenue, including concerts, protests, marches, civic activities, etc.
This modern complex of three towers changed the view of Mexico´s City skyline, they are some of the tallest buildings in the city and are recognized for their modern style and architecture. This complex has a shopping center and movie theaters.
It was inaugurated in 1910 to commemorate the 100 anniversary of Mexico´s Independence, it is a mausoleum for the heroes that lost their lives during this war. It is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and a cultural icon, a symbol of freedom.
This monument is in honor of Benito Juárez, a former Mexican president. It has a neoclassic style and is formed by 12 Doric columns made of marble. It looks stunning illuminated at night!

Waited in line for over an hour before leaving. The lines were disorganized, and people ended up leaving before getting on. They didn’t have enough buses for the amount of people and tickets being sold. Waste of money.
I had signed up for an English tour and I got the Spanish tour but it was still fun.
The meeting point for this tour was right at the Angel of Independence, you can see the tour buses along the street, La Reforma. Get there early to line up, it can get hectic if it’s a busy evening. Bring a jacket for the cold weather. They do offer multi-language audio options. Overall a good tour of the city. Enjoy!
We waited over an hour and still didn't get on the bus. Line was way too long and not enough busses.
I had pre-booked our tickets but there was some issue and we had to take the next bus which meant waiting for an hour. We sat at the top deck, at the back. It's nice to look around at the people on the street or some interesting buildings but if you're looking for information/knowledge, forget about it. There's an automated spanish voice but it's really not much at all. I don't even think it would give you a good sense of your surroundings for later exploration. It's just a bus doing it's best to get through crazy traffic.
Worth it but take an umbrella just in case we got soaked. Other than that it was cool to see the city at night.
Nice ride for something calm. Definitely expect traffic but this is a good tour for your first night in cdmx
it was a cute short trip up and down the avenue. it is a recorded tour guide. I think the issue was finding the pick up spot. it is actually in the middle of the avenue across the street from the hotel location they put in description.
I'm from the United States and do not speak fluent Spanish. This tour was completely in Spanish language with no multi-language headsets available. So we were only there to see the sights and didn't get to hear the story behind anything. It was still a good tour for the price. $10 to drive around the city at night.
It was an excellent tour and excellent value for the money. Mexico is also a nice city at night.
The pick up location changed and we did not have enough time to get to the new location because of traffic so we never got the tour but paid for it. Driver was not helpful and no representee was available to help us. We don't speak Spanish so the entire experience was disappointing
This felt very rushed. While I understand stopping on main roadways doesn't necessary work, it was hard to see many of the sites because we just drove by so quickly without even a slowing down.
The tour is okay passes by important monuments and buildings. We did our tour and it rained and we were not able to enjoy it. If its not raining its a great way to see the city at night but with rain is was not good. Will recommend but check the weather first!
We took the Mexico City night double-decker bus tour on our first day, and overall it was a decent, good-value way to get an introduction to the city. It was worth the price, and the ride lasted about 60 minutes. The open upper deck is the main attraction, offering a fun way to see the city at night. One important caution: avoid this tour if rain is expected. Because the upper deck is open to the elements, rain sends passengers downstairs, where there are only a limited number of seats. We came down early and were fortunate to get seats, but others who waited had to stand indoors or wait outside in the rain. We went in August, and the night air became a little cool, so bringing a jacket is a good idea. In clear, dry weather, this would be a wonderful experience and an easy recommendation; just be mindful of the forecast and avoid arriving late if you want the best chance of getting a seat.
If you're there early you'll possibly be sat on an earlier time slot. It wasn't an issue for us but just a heads up. The tour said 45-1hr but it lasted about 2 hours for us as it was on a very crowded Friday night. Again not a bad thing because we enjoyed it and it didn't feel rushed. We were able to really see all the sites and took plenty of pictures of the CDMX nightlife. We saw all the major sites like the Angel de la independencia, Bella artes, a rock band playing outside, street vendors selling merchandise and food/drinks around the city, impromptu Cumbia dancers on the side of the road. Very very cool experience. Check the weather as it does rain often this time of year but we lucked out and the rain was over with. They do have sellers nearby selling rain ponchos for a good price.
It is an interesting experience, but on this occasion, it was raining and we had to go down to the lower level of the bus, which made it difficult to see panoramicly; I think they should be guided more by the weather forecast, as it was not pleasant to be in the rain.
Everything was good just the weather did not help. It started to rain . But everything was good.
Guide was not provided as was promised. , and bus didn’t stop at all the promised locations. They just drove around in circles with no guide or pointing out highlights.
This was such a fun experience! Definitely recommend! Book during the day or make sure you take a sweater if booked during the night because it does get cold if you’re sitting on the top outdoor layer!
This experience was a giant pain. 1) The website and app are not accurate. They skip stops that are on both. 2) Headphones didn’t work at all 3) The wait was always longer than estimated. Even on the bus, sometimes we would stop for an extended period of time, and sometimes it was less than 30 seconds. With the cost of Ubers being unreasonable, I would just recommend using them instead.
It was a very quick and informative ride. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a ladt minute activity. It's great to learn and fun to ride.
It was an interesting ride just very short. I wish it would’ve been further in to get to see more places
My husband and I had used hop-on hop-off busses in other countries and found them a good way to see cities. This was a totally different experience. Not only did the busses run totally off route, but we waited 45 minutes for a bus that never came . We walked the route and it never passed. Also, later the 2nd day, we were in heavy traffic, stopped, and requested to be let out and the driver wouldn't let us. He literally held us hostage, we were the only ones on the bus. It was actually a little scary. Turibus is a scam, don't waste your money, hire an Uber, it is way cheaper, and way more efficient.
Absolutely fantastic tour ! Loved learning about the city under moonlight. I enjoy wandering a city and this was perfect to learn without spending 4-6 hours on a tour. Thank you !
Great way to see the history of Mexico City. Many streets were blocked so tour was ended at 30mins. The driver did not speak english so be sure to use Translate App or find a person to speak on your behalf.
1. Pickup was at a different location than what was mapped. We got lucky and stumbled onto the right street. It also left 20 min early - if we weren’t on the bus at 7 we would’ve missed it even though they’re supposed to leave at 7:30? 2. It rained. Fine, rain or shine. But the bus is not set up for rain even though it rains nightly in this city. You get poured on up top even with poncho you won’t get anything out of that experience. Go down and the windows are all greyed out, it’s set up to only work when you can leave the windows open 3. Would be much better if it were hop on hop off like the day one. Starts in Zocalo, only to pass by the areas most tourists stay and return to start. We wished they would’ve let us disembark halfway so we could go home. 4. Multiple times we passed city double decker buses with big clear windows and thought wow, that would be a more enjoyable experience. It’ll be cheaper and at least WHEN it rains in the PM you’ll be inside and warm and still be able to see!
Horrible experience. It began pouring super hard when our tour began and they refused to give an option for reschedule or a refund. Everyone ended up getting completely soaked, the lower part of the bus flooded, and they wouldn’t let us get off until the tour was over.
pretty much a site seeing tour since the headphones didn’t work so I wasn’t able to understand much of what was being spoken. It’s just a $10 bus ride
The earphones they provide for you don’t work. We couldn’t get any info as it was all in Spanish. It wasn’t a pleasant experience and don’t recommend this tour. For 45min tour it’s not worth the money you pay especially if you can’t hear it in English. We were told that they would give us the same tour for free on the bus at a later date. We will be leaving in three days and don’t have any available time to do it. We were given a refund in cash but the point being the tour was a failure. You need to check to make sure your earphones work for your English speaking tourist. You could bring your own but there is no guarantee they will work with your system. I am giving it one star, that is being very generous!
You'll love it, it's amazing! Definitely a must to do in Mexico City. The open roof is definitely a plus! Great views is the city aka monuments!
Great experience riding the double decker bus to see the city. I recommend it to see the iconic monuments. My only suggestion, it was advertised as bilingual or you can listen in English and our bus tour was only in Spanish so I had to translate everything to my companion.
We regret choosing Turibus and wish we had gone with another company. The information in the brochure was unclear, and during the tour it was often not communicated where passengers should get off for certain stops. The routes themselves also felt illogical and confusing. We took this tour to learn something about the city’s history, but the amount of commentary was extremely limited — it could probably fit on a single page. Instead, there was loud, repetitive music playing for most of the ride, which became quite irritating over time. Many of the audio outlets also didn’t work properly. On top of that, the lower-deck windows were covered with commercial advertising. On a sightseeing bus, blocking the view of the city you’re supposed to see feels completely wrong. Overall, a disappointing experience and not something we would recommend.
It was a good tour. Love seeing everything lite up at night. I just wish I brought some eye drops. The air was making my eyes super dry.
This hop on hop off bus tour is the worst. 1. Not all the jacks for earphones work. We had to search and move seats to find ones that functioned. And even then, the sound quality was terrible- even with the earphones I brought much less the poor quality ones they hand out. Furthermore the bus broadcasts very loudly in Spanish which makes listening to the recorded dialog over earphones in other languages provided even more difficult to hear. By cramming the earphones into our ears, we could get a whisper. Yes- Mexico is a Spanish speaking country, but a tourist bus that offers many languages should be respectful of all of those languages. Why not put Spanish on the headphones, too? 2. The route map is total nonsense. The stops they post and label on the street are a joke. We had a bus zip past us while we waited at the posted stop and the driver ignored us waving him down even though we were in his lane. 3. The map they provide with the tickets is worthless. It doesn’t show the bus route so you have no idea where you are and where the stops are located. You must get back on where you got off, otherwise it is hopeless to find the next stop. Don’t even dream of walking between stops. Which is a real problem when the route changes unannounced due to traffic and other issues. We were blocked by a demonstration and our driver told us to get off and walk to the next stop. Good luck with that! It took us a few hours, lots of walking and sheer luck to find another bus even though we were miles away from the demonstration. We finally observed another bus across 7 lanes of traffic that was stopped. We missed it, but crossed the street to get the next one where the prior one had stopped. It was a gamble because there was NO sign. When the next bus finally arrived, I asked the bus driver why no sign. He shrugged his shoulders and said not his problem; where he stopped was the stop. Pathetic. Think carefully before you choose Turibus.
This tour is very unprofessional There is no map that shows you exactly where the bus goes. It is a total guess as to where the buses stop. The street is not marked so unless you get back on where you got off you have no idea if there will be a bus or not even at signposts marked as a stop. Crazy.
We had high expectations for this tour to see Mexico City at night. Unfortunately, our Spanish was limited, and we requested it in English and they gave us headset
Fun experience. We got to see Mexico City during rush hour traffic and that in itself was something spectacular to see. The bike lanes had hundreds of bikes, everything was Jammed pack and vibrant. The double decker bus was comfortable. Seeing Mexico City at night gave us something to look forward to for the next night there. Would definitely recommend for first time visitors.
Tour was canceled without any further notification. have tried contacting through text/email to get my money back with no luck. Had bought tickets for a specific day/time when I went i was told by employees it was canceled and to call to get my money back.
Great experience. Very good tour of the city. Would recommend that you do it. Also make sure you get there early so you can sit at the 2nd floor
i booked an english language tour and we were put on a bus that only had spanish. also it was hard to hear the guide. the bus also did not leave on time.
The tour was great and easy to obtain. I just showed my reservation on my phone and was able to get on an earlier time than I purchased.
This is a wonderful tour! Our guide was informative, friendly, humorous and offered more then expected. If you’re in Mexico City, don’t miss this opportunity!
Would definitely recommend the (night tour), you get to experience all the city lights, the traffic sounds, and people walking around. Tour was very informative and just enjoyable throughout, would really recommend it as a must if your in the city of Mexico. 10/10
Pretty cool quick cheap tour around the city, you get a quick history lesson. It’s nice at night with all the city lights.
Great experience. Mexico city was beautiful at night it was worth it. it you have the time its Highly recommended. It was do while visiting.
Great experience! Easy to book, everyone was very friendly and helpful in figuring out what to do. Tour length was perfect, and got to see a ton in the city! Would recommend!
There were some kind of celebrations going on in Mexico City on Sunday evening, 4 Jan. There were thousands of people on the road. The bus was stuck in the gridlock for longer than the ride itself. Additionally, the tour was in Spanish and we were given headphones and asked to switch to the English presentation after the tour started since we wanted the English tour. My outlet for the headphones were not in working condition and nothing worked when the up down channel controls were changed and volume increased/decreased. My husband and I ended up sharing one EarPod each from his outlet since all the seats were occupied on the 2nd floor of the double decker bus by then. This was the worst experience ever!! I would not recommend this bus tour to anyone. Turi bus needs to check the outlets for proper working conditions before selling tickets for the ride. Otherwise they should have live operators who can help with issues like this during the ride.
It was very enjoyable to see the city at night and get a different prospective from the double decker bus. It was chilly since it’s open air, so dress warmly. It was easy to get good photos since the bus moves slowly.
Say also in English only Spanish. Say 1 hr tour but only lasted 35 minutes . Worst experience!!!!!!!!
