Narvarte At Night: Tacos, Chelas & Mezcal

We booked a private taco tour since our schedule didn’t allow for a group tour, and we’re so glad we did! We wanted more of a cultural experience and the chance to explore a different neighborhood, so we chose Narvarte at Night after reading many great reviews about Eat Mexico. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! Adrian met us in the neighborhood and was an incredible guide. With his background in the culinary industry and having grown up visiting some of the spots we went to, he brought such a personal and authentic perspective. He took us to places we likely never would have ventured into on our own, and some of the food ended up being the best we had on our trip. Beyond the amazing tacos, Adrian was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the food, local culture, and the neighborhood itself. It was a truly memorable experience that went beyond just a food tour. We highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re looking for an authentic local experience beyond the typical tourist spots!

Really fun and educational evening with a great guide. Think she went by a nickname sounded like ‘Dottie’ She was very enthusiastic and took us to great places. Good food and nice history lesson.

Fernando was friendly and knowledgeable about the food, culture and history. The tacos were great and the mezcal tasting was super interesting.

A REALLY fun night. Got to experience a local cantina with a local, which we would never have been able to do otherwise. Had some fantastic tacos at places that I would have been afraid of trying on my own, and I will note that other than over eating, everyone avoided any tummy problems. Fernando was our guide and we learned more about food than I have in a long time, and had a lot of laughs and a great time as well. Lastly, the Mezcal tasting was fantastic. Again, I learned more about Tequila, and Mezcal, than I could have ever learned anywhere else. We liked this evening more than our night at Pujol.

Lots of great food, come hungry! Our guide walked us through several stops for tacos and local specialties, sharing a lot of great history about the neighborhood and its food along the way. The mezcal tasting at the end was a fantastic way to wrap things up. Great pacing and every stop was worth it. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a real taste of the area.

We wandered through a real local neighborhood, hitting up taquerías for the best street tacos — like juicy al pastor from a flaming spit and crispy volcanes loaded with cheese and peppers. The rain didn't stop us — it just added to the atmosphere, making the whole experience feel even more authentic and cozy. Adrian, our guide, was super knowledgeable about the food, the culture, and everything in between. Adrian provided an awesome experience , tasting four different types of tacos - each one unique and delicious, and finishing off with an expert mezcal tasting. This tour has ruined us for NA tacos! Highly recommend this experience.

We had a wonderful food tour with Nico through Navarte, ending with a really insightful mescal tasting experience with Wen. The food was tasty but we also really enjoyed the history and background and Nico was brilliant company! I would recommend this tour highly!

We had a wonderful experience with Toti on our taco tour through Eat Mexico. We ate delicious food, learned about the history and origins of the food, and enjoyed delightful conversation. The mezcal tasting was also amazing - learning how small-batch mezcal is made and savored was a unique experience.

Absolutely brilliant tour with our local guide Yimnah. She was friendly and knowledgeable throughout, with excellent English. She met us at the first taqueria and talked us through the plan. Really good that she checked for allergies, and she made sure my wife, who can't eat gluten, was OK the whole evening. We were taken to an excellent selection of taquerias and a cantina serving food with outstanding flavours. Not being locals we would never have ventured out this far and found these places. Can't recommend this highly enough.

We had such a great time on the street food tour! We were led by Yimnah, who is super nice, very knowledgeable, interesting and clearly knows her stuff! The recommendations for the tacos were excellent, my favourite was 💯 the tripe at Taco Tony's even though it was my last one and I was pretty full by that point. Celebrated my 50th in CDMX and this fantastic tour was part of the amazing experience. Toti, Fernando and Nico led a large group of us (19) to some of the most delicious taco spots in the city. Being culinary experts, they were able to explain the intricacies of each dish consumed at every stop on the tour. Bring comfortable walking shoes and an appetite. This is a must experience when visiting Mexico City.

This was a great tour. Adrian was a great guide and was really knowledgeable. Highlights included the Mezcal tasting, the Suadero tacos and the Tacos Al Pastor.

We loved the Narvarte at Night tour! It was a busy night with several groups but our guide was able to give us her full attention. Had some of the best tacos of our trip that night, and the mezcal tasting was amazing! The tasting guide was very knowledgeable, the pours were generous, and I learned a lot about artisanal mezcal and the difference between different regions and varieties. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I had an amazing experience on the Navarte at Night tour! It was so much more than just tacos and broadened our understanding of Mexican food culture. I even found a new favorite local beer and some new foods I want to recreate at home. Our tour guide Tonalli was phenomenal! She was personable and so knowledgeable about the food and drinks and provided us with both an education and incredible experience. She was a joy to spend the evening with! I had been debating which food tour to do, and let me tell you - don’t look anywhere else. We’ve traveled extensively, and I have a high bar for service, and this exceeded my expectations. This was a highlight to a fantastic weekend in Mexico City. Great exploration of the nuances of Mexican tacos. Learned the meaning of pastor, carnitas and barbacoa. Tonalli, our guide, was incredible for both food and cultural information. Definitely go hungry or allow a purge stop midway through the tour. We plan to try the street food tour the next time we are in the city!!
