We really enjoyed our tour with Danniel. He was extremely knowledgeable was able to answer our questions, even if it wasn’t part of the tour and took us to some great places for some wonderful food. It was especially nice having a tour guide all to ourselves.

We got to taste street food that we would not have dared try on our own. Daniel love his city and its food. He knows which enchiladas and tacos to choose. He showed us his favorite pastry shops and the best place to get churros. Skip lunch to leave room for this tour!
Authentic Taco and Mezcal tour Great guide
This was an outstanding experience . Mexico City is such an amazing food city but it can be overwhelming. There are so many options . This tour was super helpful in getting you a locals perspective. Our guide Victor was excellent and I highly recommend him .
We had a great time with Luz today walking around Mexico City and tasting 10 different spots of local cuisine. Would recommend it to everyone!!
Victor was terrific ! He was easy to communicate with, shared so much knowledge and insight as to what we were seeing and eating. Terrific! Thank you
Wonderful tour guide! Luz was great!
This was a great way to learn about Mexico City and its great food choices. Our guide was excellent and did a great job introducing us to new foods. He also was able to answer all our question that cover a vast amount of topics. One of the best food tours we have taken.
Victor was an outstanding guide—talkative, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. His command of English is excellent, and his style is effortlessly hip. Overall, it was a fantastic food tour.
Our guide Yvan was incredible! The food experience was so good, and getting background about on we were eating and about some of the food and drink establishments was worth every dollar. Highly recommend!
really nice to learn abit more about the food habits of the mexicans. Sitting in very local restaurants or streetfood, to eat waht the locals eat. Guide spoke very good english and was enjoyable company.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Yván! He took us to authentic places and not large tourist spots, which we preferred. He asked us questions and chose locations accordingly, everything was delicious!! Highly recommend!!
Very authentic local food tasting in the historic center. Lots of delicious foods we never would’ve found on our own.
Ivan was a great tour guide. We went to fantastic restaurants and enjoyed some really good street food. However, the best part were the stories and information Ivan shared with us about Mexico City and the history of the surrounding areas. I would definitely recommend his tour.
Mexico City was experiencing protests that turned into a riot involving riot police at the exact location of the meeting spot. We were not able to reach the tour guide and all food spots were closed. Operator refused to give a refund as we were leaving the next day. We asked to f we could move to Polanco and guide said no. She said we could wait until protest was over but had no idea how long we t would last. ( protest lasted over 4 hours.
Come hungry and curious about the food and the culture. Yvan was our tour guide and he not only fed us but gave us historical facts and stories about nearby buildings, monuments, establishments, and statues. As we walked through different markets, he also helped us talk to some of the vendors. He was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and funny. We would definitely recommend him and this food tour.
We had a great time with Daniel! He was very knowledgeable and patient, and he gave us an excellent tour of the city. The tastings were great and we loved that food and drinks were included in the overall price. Definitely a 10/10 experience!
Daniel was fun, informative and a great guide. We had tons of fun, went to markets, learned about Mexican food, tasted lots of great dishes
First, I have to say our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we really liked her. The reason I'm giving the tour two stars is that it's poorly conceived. You won't get 10 tastings. We visited two establishments and at the first, the two items we ate were full-sized (tacos and tlayuda), not "tastings." We only ended up with five tastings, and two of those were Mezcal-based cocktails (drinks count), and the other item was guacamole. It was all delicious, and the experience was enjoyable, but this isn't a great food tour. I've done tasting tours in other cities/countries and we've had 4-5 prearranged stops (the proprietors knew we were coming) with a few small items to try at each. My advice to the tour operator would be to rework the tour to be a true food tour. Not worth $107pp.
Great choices and variety of food as well as sites around Centro Mexico City. Highly recommend, but please make sure you come hungry… you will eat a lot of food and do a lot of walking! We loved Luz, she is great!
We booked Luis for our personal tour guide in CDMX. She was great, she was very knowledgeable and showed us areas we would never think to go normally. She also showed us some really great spots to eat. If you are looking for a fun tummy filling experience, don’t hesitate to book!
Really enjoyed our tour. Victor was super nice and personable. The food was great and the right amount of food, you are definitely full at the end!! We loved how you got to try things you normally wouldn't have. We would have enjoyed more information maybe about the history of the city / influences on the food but we did get a little bit of it.
We had a great time at Aura Kitchen. We had a trip to the market and cooked a 4 course meal. Marielena was so informative and patient Would highly recommend if you like to cook or are interested in food
It was good, tried a variety of food and drinks also Yvan gave really good historical information.!!!
Yvan had so many insightful stories and interesting facts for us about Mexico City. We enjoyed spending our afternoon with him and exploring downtown eating like a local!
Victor our guide was great as we walked, learned and ate our way through the city stopping at a variety of places in the downtown area experiencing different type tacos and foods. We ended our tour at El Moro Churros enjoying delicious churros and Mexican hot chocolate. Highly recommend this walking food tour whether it’s your first or tenth time in CDMX.
Our 10 Tastings of CDMX tour was an absolute highlight for our entire family. Victor took us to 4 completely different and authentic dining venues, and we tried food we’d never seen or heard of (including grasshoppers!)!! He also gave us history of the foods and insight into the neighborhood and general CDMX info. We are a family of four with two teenagers and they loved it as well. I’d highly recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure and a desire to step out of a normal food experience! Thank you Victor! Buena suerte!
The food was great and the history of food in general and our food samples was very informative. Accommodation for vegetarians as well. A great time!
Our guide texted in the morning to ask us to change from 5pm to 1pm. We replied saying we couldn’t do that. A while later he texted to say he wasn’t well and was cancelling the tour.
Daniel was the perfect host and guide! He took us to some great spots in Centro Historico spanning from a traditional pastry shop to street food to the local market. He knew all the best things to get at every place and made us feel welcome. I felt that I came out of the tour with a new friend! I would highly recommend this tour!
Victor was a wonderful guide and a lovely person. He took us to places he knows well and eats at himself -so it felt very personal. The food was the best we had while in Mexico city- often from modest places we wouldn't have found. It was a great mix with some fabulous churros at the end. We were late by nearly half an hour but Victor still spent well the time we should have had. Some food trips feel like a conveyer belt and when you get off you are still hungry. This felt like it was a tour Victor himself devised and loves. We were full and happy with this tour. Would totally recommend.
I mistakenly booked for Feb 15th instead of Mar 15th, so actually had to no-show on our guide. He was gracious. Also - he had proactively reached out to move our tour from Centro to Roma Norte, a change I much appreciated. I am hoping that our Mar 15th tour will be in Roma Norte!
We so enjoyed our food tour of Centro CDMX with Silvia. She took us to a place where Al Pastor tacos were "invented" as well as El Moro, the first churros restaurant in CDMX. Silvia speaks perfect English and walked at a leisurly pace so it was easy to keep up with her in spite of all the people on the sidewalks and streets. I had never booked with withlocals.com but after this experience, I'll be seeking them out.
Loved our tour with Silvia, she was very kind, and really knew everything we had asked. She was a delight. The only feedback would have is for a food tour with five stops - three of them were tacos so it would have been nice to have more variety than tacos three times. Otherwise, would definitely recommend Silvia and this tour to foodies.
Al was super knowledgeable and thoughtful. He took us for some of the best food in town! He was easy to coordinate with and gave us helpful tips after our tour as well!
Our guide Silvia is very knowledgeable about local foods, lay of the land and Mexican history. My husband and I enjoyed her company and explanation at all the stops we made. Each stop provided a different experience and flavor. We feel very lucky to have her as our guide!
The 10 tasting food tour with Luz was great. Communication was good prior to the tour, we met in a very busy area of the city. She did a great job integrating the history of the city while walking to our food stops. She also accommodated our group food preferences—2 of us eat meat, 2 are vegetarians. Good integration of sweet and savory options. We were definitely full by the end of the tour! I also appreciated her sending me suggestions for restaurants to try near where we were staying. Great experience and would highly recommend this food tour.
Delicious food and great local information. Al was an amazing guide! Our family of four had a great experience walking around the city center and trying local dishes.
Definitely a tour about food. Some history of the major landmarks in area. Our Guide Victor very knowledgeable about the food history . Be prepared to eat street food and lots of food. Taco lovers definitely won’t go hungry.
We had the most amazing afternoon with Daniel - sampling food we would have ordinarily never have known to order and learning so much about the rich culture and history. Daniel was super knowledgeable , well travelled and friendly and I cannot recommend him enough! He adapted the meals to suit our dietary requirements, everything we ate was yummm, we were pleasantly full by the end, and Daniel was very considerate to ensuring my mother was comfortable throughout (taking little breaks whenever needed). Thank you Daniel - you are awesome! This has been a highlight of our trip!
I am visiting Mexico City from California and wanted to try the local food but didn’t know where to start. I scheduled a tour with Al and it was an amazing experience. We ate several different styles of tacos and each place we stopped was my new favorite stop. This tour is a must do!!
We loved our food tour with Daniel. He was super knowledgeable and friendly, and took us to have the most incredible food tour start off our trip in Mexico. He also explained some Mexican history to us, which we loved! Fantastic experience all round. Would highly recommend!
Al was a lot of fun. Navigated us through the vibrant and busy streets of the historic district and introduced us to some extraordinary local cuisine. He was easy to talk to, energetic and quite knowledgeable regarding dining options. Overall, had a wonderful time!
We had an awesome time with Daniel! He gave a wonderful tour of CDMX and catered the experience to our preferences. Specifically, we had such a great time trying out all the moles, spices, and salsas @ Mercado de San Juan. We got to try a bunch of different foods too, from tacos, birria and gorditas to tapas and empanadas. We had enough food that we even had some para llevar" 😂
Daniel brought us to a few of his favorite food spots where we had some delicious tacos. Highlights were a street taco spot where we tasted a corn and mushroom taco and a zucchini blossom taco. This is a place I would never get to on my own. Also, visited a huge food hall which I loved seeing. We ended with the mother of all bakeries: Ideal — never seen anything like it. Daniel was very knowledgeable and the pace was good so that we could make room for more!
Amazing tour with a great guide. Took us to both well known and hidden gems. Also shared a lot of tips and advice for the rest of our trip. Besides the food we really enjoyed the cultural and historical information.
Al did such a nice job with our tour - I loved ending our night with the carajillo. I still think the floutas was the best but the tacos al pastor were also a big hit! We had our tour in Roma Norte. Great idea to get an idea of the neighbourhood with a few couples!!
Silvia was a treasure. She was able to entertain us with fun facts about the city, foods we ate and the history behind each restaurant. We indulged in tacos, churros and pan dulce. I love these tours as they take you to places you would not have existed or been brave enough to try. The walking is mild and persons of all ages can safely do with ease. The portions seem small but it is for a reason as you quickly become full and by the time our last stop we had to take it home to enjoy later. I would not eat a heavy meal prior to going or you may not be able to eat everything. Silvia switched from Spanish to English with ease.
Daniel was friendly and showed us all around, eating in a variety of establishments and at street food vendors. His English was excellent and we felt well taken care of. We learned a lot and ate things we wouldn't have known to look for. (I even ate a cricket!) He tailored what we saw and ate based on our preferences and interests. It was a casual, fun time. And delicious!
Sylvia picked the best places for us to eat. They were small restaurants where locals also ate. Everything was hand made in front of us and each item was delicious. There were 5 stops, and she did a good job of advising the servers at each stop to serve smaller portions so we weren’t overfed by the end. I loved hearing about each restaurant and learning how the México City version of each food differed from other parts of Mexico. The itinerary was flexible, and if you have food allergies or don’t eat certain foods, they’ll change restaurants to accommodate. So I think anyone can enjoy the tour. I would definitely book this tour again, and next time, focus on trying a different style of food.
