So worth the effort and cost!! Once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend a visit to this magical garden. Paddling through the sunrise and then learning about agricultural history of the area were amazing. We also got to meet an axylotl!

It was truly incredible!!! I would recommend this to anyone, but particularly people interested in plants, birds, or history. Our guide Marcos, was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable and our driver Genaro was very friendly!

By far one of the best sites in Mexico City. Beautiful scenery and educational trip. Words and pictures can't show you what you will see on this sunrise trip. Would highly recommend. Don't miss it.

Amazing experience. At first I was a bit skeptical because of the price since it seemed a bit hefty, but every dollar was worth it. They provided clean and comfortable transportation ensuring we reached our destinations. The hot air balloon experience took about 45 minutes and included beautiful views of what was once a thriving Aztec civilization. Staff were attentive and it never felt crowded, as they accounted for all the folks enjoying the experience.

Easy pick up great views and experience

A hot air balloon ride is a peaceful and memorable experience. The lift-off is smooth, the views are beautiful, and the quiet in the air makes it feel very calm and unique. It can be a little nerve-racking at first, but overall it is relaxing and worth trying at least once.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our early morning ride on a canoe. From the Condesa area our pickup was 4:30 am for about a 30-minute ride to Xochimilco. People on the experience ranged from 10 years to over 65 years. Blankets are provided if you are a bit cold. The ride to the chinampa took about 1 hour and we enjoyed the birds and fauna along the way while the guide explained the history of the area. Depending on the time of year you will see different birds. At the chinampa site we toured the beautiful farm. The scenery at sunrise is worth the experience only! The nearby mountain ranges are also visible. The weather is unpredictable, so the experience may be disappointing if the morning is cloudy. We had a light breakfast with vegetables from the garden as well as a local dish. Coffee and tea were also served. We got a short brief on the ecology of the chinampas. We saw an axolotl kept in a fish bin and the guide explained why they are endangered. There were some items for sale. This trip is highly recommended. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Highly highly recommend this tour. All logistics were so well organized, and the chinampa tour itself was lovely at sunrise. Saw lots of birds and enjoyed learning about the ecology and agriculture from our thoughtful and enthusiastic guide!

Well worth the price. Beautiful experience. You might get it cheaper if you book direct but also paying the extra to not have to worry about organizing a ride and such is excellent. We have no regrets.

Amazing experience and totally worth it. Our canoe rower/guide was Marcus and he was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about preserving the ecosystem of the area. We learned a lot about the local ecosystem and go to eat a fresh breakfast (most delicious cherry tomatoes I've ever had). The sunrise was beautiful, but much colder than expected. Marcus provided us with fresh blankets, which were a life saver.

This tour definitely exceeded my expectations! Marcos was a very knowledgable guide. Riding thru the canals at dawn and having breakfast while the sun is rising over the beautiful farm was such a tranquil experience that was made even better because it was just my wife and I. I would absolutely recommend this activity to others wanting an experience immersed in culture, history and supporting agricultural conservation efforts!

What a unique and wonderful experience. Totally different (and IMO so much more appealing) than all the Xochimilco party trips. Our guide Marcos was fabulous and so knowledgeable. We learned a lot. And to see the day break surrounded by 250 species of birds on an organic farm technically in CDMX city limits was a wonderful experience.

It was an amazing tour that took us on a canoe through the canal before sunrise and before any other tourists arrived. We arrived at an eco-farm/garden where the tour guide and others run. The tour guide was very knowledgable, and we learned about how the farm/garden tries to restore and maintain a healthy eco-system there. Our breakfast was cooked right at the farm with all the ingredients from the garden. The tour is absolutely worth it and the money goes to supporting the farm. Just make sure to wear thick winter clothes and warm shoes. It was very cold in the early morning. The tour guide prepared several blankets for us and that saved my life. But the blankets couldn't over the feet. I was wearing sneakers and regular socks, which were not enough to prevent cold air and dampness from freezing my toes. Also, the description says the activity starts at 5:30am, but it takes about an hour to get there, so the driver may come to pick you up at 4:30am, which is what happened to us. I highly recommend the tour, just be prepared to 1) get up at 4/4:30am and 2) wear warm clothes and shoes.

Great from pick-up to drop off. Driver, guide, etc. all very pleasant, knowledgeable and engaging. This was the opposite experience to party boats (which was what we wanted).

If you want to see Xochimilco, but aren't interested in the party-boat experience, this is a terrific alternative. We went mid-week in the middle of December, and it ended up being a private tour. My wife and I and the tour guide / rower. This is a great way to learn about the 1,000-year history of Xochimilco, how they were constructed, how they are maintained, and the ecology. If you are a birdwatcher, this is an excellent tour also.

This tour exceeded our expectations by a lot. Our guide, Marcos was a great naturalist and has the gift of conveying information about the local wildlife, the history of Xocomilco and the ancient farming practices. We enjoyed a delicious meal and saw many local and migrating bird species on the trip back to their base. We also watched the sun rise between two volcanos. Nothing short of spectacular!

Very unique experience and worth waking up early to experience the area’s natural beauty, wildlife, and, of course, sunrise. Driver was kind and made good conversation (Spanish only) and our guide was super knowledgeable of the area’s history, biology, and conservation efforts (English/Spanish). Breakfast was made fresh using the produce they grow and harvest. The snacks they offered (cookies, chips, etc) were also produced using local products. Everything was simple but delicious. We will definitely come back and recommend it to friends/family.

A very quiet and educational experience. We had five others in our group. This tour included round trip transportation from our hotel. Other tours do not so pay attention to that when comparing.

Amazing, beautiful, educational, and delicious! We were driven by the kindest driver to our start. Greeted by a Friendly and Brilliant biologist who was our guide thru the waters of Xochimilco. The gardens were full of beauty, and the sumptuous breakfast was created from this bounty!

Magical Experience from Start to Finish! I can’t say enough good things about our hot air balloon ride with Tlatoani Tours! From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and safe. The pilot was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Watching the sunrise from the sky was absolutely breathtaking—peaceful, surreal, and something I’ll never forget. The flight was smooth, and the landing was gentle. We even got to help with some of the setup and pack-down, which added to the fun.

This trip was clutch. They rose a banner in honour of my bday. Capt. Eduardo is a smoke show and he took care of us as we floated into the sky serenaded by Ed Sheeran. It was so nice I almost proposed to my gay husband. 10/10 would recommend.

Pretty cool experience, definitely worth seeing in the air. My only complaint is there was no wifi when we flew directly over the pyramids. My wife just informed me it's Aztec and not AZ Tech. Nevermind about the wifi then. 5/5 stars!!
